I don’t know if it’s just us who have noticed, but for a while now, it seems like Burger IM is popping up EVERYWHERE. Interested to see what they have to offer, the hubby and I stopped by for an early Sunday lunch. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, but considering the space, it could certainly host large groups thanks to the plethora of seats. The menu, while clear, does take some time to navigate. Burger IM offers your usual burgers that you would expect at most burger joints, but to stand out from the crowd, it also offers the duo and trio which allows you to select two or three different mini hamburgers. Wanting to try some variety, the hubby and I both went for the duo. He chose the Angus beef and crispy fried chicken while I got the Merguez beef and the UNCUT burger (plant-based patty), both with swiss cheese instead of cheddar. We also shared a “half&half” side of onion rings and sweet potato fries While it was neat to try four different burgers, it also meant the kitchen had to MAKE four different burgers which definitely ate into the service. We waited for an uncomfortable amount of time for our food and we were the only ones there. We hate to think how long it would have taken if there was a crowd… Presentation isn’t necessarily a strong suit, but everything looked fresh. I was bummed to see that for our side, there were only three onion rings on a bed of sweet potato fries that were thankfully fried perfectly. As for the burgers, the hubby and I loved each patty immensely. You could really taste the difference and I was blown away by the plant-based patty. It was so juicy! The Merguez patty was filled with aromatic spices and the Angus beef was cooked well. We weren’t too fond of the sesame buns, wishing it was toasted more. For the amount of food we got, prices are more than reasonable. Burger IM was such pleasant surprise, giving us the chance to try four different patties in one hearty, delicious meal. I’m certain we will come back again!

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 800 Ocala Rd #350, Tallahassee

I was excited to try the Uncut (plant based) burger here but was met with nothing but issues from the door. While ordering the cashiers rings our burgers up as 1/3lb Angus Beef burgers and I’m like “whoa, uh, we are vegetarian. Those need to be changed to the plant based burgers.” She responds by telling me that there is no button in the machine for the Uncut burger and so she has to ring it up this way and then tell the cook to switch it to the Uncut burger. Major red flag! Had I have listed to my gut we would have said “no thank you” and just walked out, but we stayed nonetheless. My boyfriend and I ordered our burgers two different ways. He also ordered a combo and I simply asked for fries and no drink. We were charged for 2 combos anyway and I was handed a cup which I filled with water since I don’t drink sodas or juice. After having been seated for 23 minutes his burger comes to the table and not only was his burger all the way wrong, but when the cashier came back over to us she states that they have run out of fries (this is like 7pm on a Saturday and we are one of only 2 sets of customers in the place) and asks if I’d like onion rings instead. I opt for a combo of rings and sweet potato fries and a full 6 minutes later my burger and sides show up. My burger has the standard toppings on it, not the ones I ordered and my rings were seriously overcooked. If I weren’t already so annoyed and tired I would have sent it back, but I figured I’d just eat so we could get the hell out of the place. The flavor of the Uncut patty is amazing and that is THE ONLY REASON THIS PLACE GETS ONE STAR! Anyone looking for great service and a decent burger (vegan or otherwise) in town would do much better to go to Vertigo. Burgerim is the worst!

South Philly Cheesesteaks – Menu with Prices – 1439 Main St, Sarasota

Walked in here and understand they just opened to the public this week. Its an open environment with a cool brick wall on one side, and wooden/steel wall on the other. Nice wooden tables. Our server was friendly and was efficient. We had a few questions and she answered all of them quickly. I didn’t want the grilled onions or hot peppers on my large 10″ cheesesteak and wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion instead. She said no problem, but charged me $1 extra. I also wanted onion rings instead of bagged potato chips or fries and told her I would pay extra, but she said that was not possible, so I went with the fries. We also ordered a Swiss mushroom burger and sweet potato fries, but when it came out, it was with onion rings–very odd (because she originally said onion rings as an upgrade was not possible!). We eventually got our sweet potato fries that we originally ordered and she had the nerve to charge us an extra $3 for the onion rings (that we never did order). It looks like when it comes to upgrades and changes, they are a bit confused, so who knows what’s allowed. The good news is that the cheesesteak was very good tasting, although for a large, it wasn’t that big. You would think a large would be at least a foot long for $11.50. The fries were fresh cut, but tasted a bit off and dry, and they were very dark in color, along with the onion rings. Perhaps they needed to change the oil in their fryer. The sweet potato fries were okay. They also serve beer here at very reasonable prices.

Blue 32 Sports Grill – Menu with Prices – 4845 S Arizona Ave, Chandler

The 1st time I wanted to try this place it was closed.. It was Halloween, who closes on Halloween? This place I tell ya. I was craving a burger and this place always come up so we finally went. You walk in to a sign that says seat yourself. The seat for the tables are rock hard, even my junk in the trunk didn’t help. We had a sweet waitress with the longest, thickest, darkest, fakest eyelashes ever, but she was very nice. The hubby and I got both got burgers I ordered Onion Rings he ordered fries. My burger looked a different color then his. Mine was lighter his looked grilled… I ordered mine with cheese he didn’t or I would of switched with him. Absolutely NO flavor. How does that happened.. It was NOT a fresh burger, you can tell it was a frozen patty. My Onion Rings were NOT crispy at all and it still tasted powdery from the flour. His fries were soggy. I was hungry so I ate it, got the bill and was regretting I ate it, should of just went next door to Dairy Queen for a better burger. Half an hour after getting home I had stomach pain that I NEVER experienced before, upper mid stomach pain. Never had it before or since. I had restroom issues. I almost went to the ER.. I had not eaten that day so it was definitely their food. Restroom were nice, like the waitress but I would rather good food over service.

Ford’s Garage Kissimmee – Menu with Prices – 3210 Margaritaville Blvd, Kissimmee

I had an excellent meal here. It was National Cheeseburger day and that sounded good. I had previously been to a Ford’s Garage in Tampa area and had a great burger. I brought my parents along. We had a great server named Kevin, he was attentive and always made sure we were taken care of. I started with a Pumpkinhead beer. They do it right by putting a rim of cinnamon sugar on the glass. It’s the little things. We started off with the GIANT FUNNEL TOWER OF JUMBO PISTON ONION RINGS. They were crispy on the outside and the onion on the inside was firm not mushy. They had a nice flavor that was not too sweet like some onion rings. They were also very hot and were not sitting around. I like how they are served on an oil funnel. I tried there new seasonal burger, it was an Australian Wagyu Beef Spicy burger. I subbed out the standard bun for a pretzel bun. This burger was awesome. The Wagyu beef does make a difference. It has more flavor and is tender. The burger was topped with fried jalapeños, a spicy sauce and Pepper-jack cheese. This was very filling and probably one of the best burgers I have had recently. They do not do regular fries. They serve Potato wedges and they are seasoned nicely and go well with the chipotle ketchup that is served with the onion rings. My mom had a Chop Shop Salad with Salmon. This salad is huge and they can swap the lettuce mix for romaine. The salmon that is added on is a 6 oz fillet. My mom ate half and took half home for lunch the next day. My dad had a Mushroom Swiss burger that was perfect. Overall a great meal and well done. I look forward to coming back again soon.

The Rawls Course – Menu with Prices – The Rawls Course at Texas Tech, 3720 4th St, Lubbock

I visited Lubbock yesterday and the first thing I did when I got there was meet my brother at The Rawls Course – Texas Tech’s very own golf club. Neither of us had eaten lunch yet and we were both starving, so we decided to try Jerry’s Grill located inside the clubhouse. I ordered the Stubb’s burger ($6.50) – a 1/3lb. hamburger that’s been grilled with BBQ sauce, melted cheese, and topped with two fried onion rings. It also comes with french fries. Oh man, this burger was good! Succulent patty soaked in Stubb’s very own BBQ sauce. I love the fried onion rings on top because they lend a new crispy texture to every bite. The french fries were crispy and not overly salted. I like that they still had the skin on them. Everything was just.. great! Besides burgers, Jerry’s also has a bunch of fresh sandwiches and salads and earlier in the day, they serve breakfast too. Afterwards, we were supposed to hit some golf balls, but who can play golf after eating all that? That’s why I recommend you play first and eat afterwards. Reward yourself after a long, hot day of golf with an ice cold beverage and one of Jerry’s excellent burgers.

Matty G?s Steakburgers & Spirits – Menu with Prices – 18425 N 51st Ave, Glendale

Matty G’s is a casual family restaurant with a sports theme atmosphere. The menu is mostly burgers. They use grass fed beef and serve the burgers in mostly two 4oz patties that are nicely caramelized. They offer cocktails and beer on tap and milkshakes made with frozen custard. This is a casual restaurant. You get full service at the bar but if you want to sit at a table you order and pay at the bar like any other fast casual restaurant. I went with a non-burger option and got a “birdie” platter combo. I had my choice of fried or grilled and went with grilled. The chicken was caramelized and served on a soft toasted bun. The chicken was ever so slightly over cooked but still good and was a tasty sandwich. For my side I got the onion rings. The onion rings were very hardy and very bread-ee. My husband got the “All Star” burger platter combo. His burger(s) was nicely caramelized. He received a MOUNTAIN of garlic parm fries that came with fry sauce. His only complaint is that he thought each burger patty should have a slice of cheese instead of just one slice of cheese between the patties. I think the food overall was A-OK and an A-ok is three stars. This is a neighborhood restaurant so that means that you aren’t going to travel across town to eat here. You come here if you live nearby and want something casual and not too fancy. The help were especially helpful and friendly.

Hi-Pointe Drive-In – Menu with Prices – 634 Washington Ave, St. Louis

I had such high expectations for this place, but it was bad. I mean, worse than McDonald’s bad. I ordered a single cheeseburger with a side of fries and my significant other had the same, but with onion rings. We shared the rings and fries. The buns on the burgers were hard and cold, and the patty on their burger was dry and small, and room temperature, as well as dry. The fries were room temp as well and the cheese sauce I ordered on the side was the worst I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even on par with the bright yellow stuff one gets with nachos at a ballgame. It was pale, mostly tasteless, and not good. The onion rings were ok, but nothing to write home about and the portion was tiny. In the side of rings there were about 4 rings total. It isn’t as if onions are expensive, so I’m not sure what the issue is there. We also shared a shake, and I can honestly say it was the best thing I experienced there. It was hand shaken and quite tasty. However, I was disappointed by their choices of liquor that one can add to a shake if they choose for $3. I was expecting Godiva chocolate liqueur, or vanilla schnapps, or Bailey’s, but no, the liquor selection for shakes consists of rail (generic) vodka or rum. Yippee! I can’t understand why this place is so popular. The food isn’t good. I’ve had better burgers at Culver’s. That’s not a dig at Culver’s it’s just me, making a point that Hi Point charges twice as much for a product that is considerably inferior. I won’t be back. One of the worst burgers I’ve had.

Everything Burger – Menu with Prices – 3372 Canton Rd, Marietta

There are some issues I think this place needs to work out, but I can already tell but I’ll be back plenty of times. Case in point I’ve already been there twice even after my first time was very on the fence. I love places that have lots of options for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone with food restrictions are allergies. This place has lots of options despite the fact that really the only things that they do are burgers and fries. That’s actually what attracted me here in the first place. My first order was the black bean burger with lettuce, red pepper, vegan cheddar cheese, mango chili sauce and cajun waffle fries. Basically the burger had the flavor but not the texture, and the fries had the texture but not the flavor. I’ve had a lot of bad black bean burgers in my time and now that I’m trying to go vegan I anticipate having lots more. The texture of this black bean burger was almost like thick refried beans. It didn’t hold together at all and you can see and one of my pictures that the filling slid to one side. However it tasted really good. Plus I got it on a vegan bun. The moisture from the beans, the sauce, and the toppings turned it to mush basically right after putting it in the wrapper. I essentially had to eat it with a spoon later on. The cajun fries had a really great texture because they were nice and crisp, but I couldn’t taste any of the Cajun seasoning. needless to say my first experience was a little all over the place. I decided to go back and try some of their other choices though. The second time I went I got a vegan burger with onion rings. There vegan Patty is a non soy vegetable protein and it holds together really well. If you’ve ever bitten into a piece of cartilage in a chicken patty oh, it’s actually pretty similar to that. It’s dense and chewy without being overly dense or chewy. It makes it very similar to chicken. This burger was much more satisfying and I got it on a sesame seed bun. I’m sure there’s dairy or something in it but I don’t actually care that much. The onion rings are amazing too. They said they don’t make them there, but they had to go through three or four different vendors until they found one that they were happy with. The place is definitely a hole in the wall. The inside is not lit very well and is always hot, but they got a nice little seated section and they have some games for people. It’s also obviously a family-run restaurant, and they’re really friendly as well as taking a lot of pride in what they do. If you like no frills food that anyone can eat, I would definitely recommend this place. I know I’ll be back in the future to try their veggie burger as well and their sweet potato fries.

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 120 W CityLine Dr Suite 600, Richardson

Came for the grand opening and honestly was super disappointed. Waited in line for about like 45 min before opening really hungry and ready to get this free burger and buy some fries and etc. They had like 2 vendors come out and a DJ and had lots of balloons and what not. Finally after waiting in the heat they open the doors at 12:05pm and only let 10 ppl at a time. Me and my bf get inside and we get to “order” and by that I mean they had pre made burgers sitting out and we only got to choose from 2 options the grilled chicken or the regular burger. So now that I didnt get to try the burger I wanted to try ( assuming we could choose any burger since the advertising said free burger.. you would think it would be any of their burgers that you could choose from) we ordered a fries and grabbed our burger from the counter (who knows how long it’s been sitting in the back already made) We sit down the burger is pretty small and super sad. The veggies looked super non existant. I opened the burger and finally found it hiding. The burger was sooo dry and super chewy. Like some frozen patty that you get at your school cafeteria lunch. It was so bad I would not pay like 8 bucks for this. The fries finally came out after we finished our burger and we had to go up there to ask when our fries were done. They had it just sitting up there and no one delivering to our table.. The fries were so small.. and it was like potato chips? It was definitely better than the burgers but still so pricy for the amount of fries and size of it. Also what was really annoying was there was nothing on the table. At least have some napkins… you have to grab everything at a station which was annoying to do when theres a bunch of ppl in the store. Giving 2 stars cause they tried and gave free burgers but honestly this just made me realize why these burger IM have bad reviews and that the quality of these burgers is defin not worth the price. In and out is a million times better than this and cheaper go there instead.

The Longhorn Cafe – Menu with Prices – 5602 W Hausman Rd Ste 102, San Antonio

Came in for lunch to try the newest Longhorn location which is close to my work office and I’m glad I did. I was a little bit worried at first based on some past reviews but it seems to me that after my meal they have worked out the kinks. I placed my order at the counter, a jalapeno cheese burger with a side of onion rings and a iced tea. It took about ten minutes for my order to be ready for pickup at the window. The burger was a good size and came fully loaded: mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, cheese and jalapenos. The bun was toasted and the beef patty (1/4 lb patty I’m assuming) was cooked just right with a nice char on the outside but juicy on the inside. Each bite was bliss. The onion rings were also very good. They came out a nice golden brown and crispy with no excess oil. The tea was strong and tasted freshly brewed. Overall, this was a really good burger and rings at a good price. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff was friendly. It seems that this Longhorn location is now putting our food at the level of the original on Blanco.

Roger’s Burgers – Menu with Prices – 591 N D St, San Bernardino

I tried out Rogers Burgers with a co-worker after another co-worker had suggested we should have the decadent Wild and Wreckless Burger that he just loved. So, we did. Rogers Burgers is not in the best part of town, but then again, there is very little in the City of San Bernardino that would be considered nice. This place is an older Mom and Pop type burger stand that has two locations, here and in Burbank with possibly more locations coming. Nice but not overly inviting and a bit loud inside the small eating/cooking area, Rogers gives you just enough space for a quick meal before you move on. We tried the Wild and Wreckless Burger with was a 1/3 lb 100% Angus Beef burger, tomato red onion mustard sauce, pickles, bacon, chili cheese and topped with pastrami! This was one really good sized, messy but tasty burger. The tomato red onion mustard sauce was unique and was very good with their chili and bacon make this burger well worth the $7.49 price. Rogers offers other burgers, sandwiches, breakfasts and combos with fries as well. I opted not to get the fries for $1.99 as I am trying to cut back but they do look really good and will try them next time. For the most part it looks like Rogers keeps things fresh and simple and do a good job with their burgers. Everything is cooked fresh and the wait was a bit long but to be expected with freshly made burgers. Their breakfast burritos also looked good in the pictures and would like to try them. I hope they expand out into the Upland/Rancho area where I think to might do some good business
