My kiddos and I came to eat burgers after school. My daughter had the chicken strip plate and my son had the bacon burger with jalapeños. They were both tasty. I ordered a kids cheeseburger and it came with fries and a drink. The burgers and fries came out hot but my bottom bun was hard as a rock. It was left in the heater to long. I asked if they can bring me a bun and I would transfer my burger but to not take it to the back and I have trust issues. I asked for a refund for my one burger very nicely cause again…. trust issues!! I would of been happy to get the money back and wait for my kiddos to finish their meals. Instead, The cashier was nice and said ok let me show the cook. The cook which turns out to be the manager apologized and said he will make me a new one right away with a smile on his face. He was nice to come out of the kitchen and offered to make it. I felt more Comfortable when he came to asked me to let him remake it. ? He got it out in a jiffy! The staff is nice and polite and the place is clean. I must say the ceiling can use a good dusting but other than that, everything else has been kept clean. I will return as the burgers are tasty!!

Viking Burger – Menu with Prices – 11745 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

Based on the reviews and recommendations from locals we visited Viking Burger and the burgers are as described, AWESOME. NOT a chain, but a local business with a distinct niche making great burgers with a Viking theme. The burgers are labeled with an appropriate Norse name and yes, the fries were tasty as well. So what to order? Burgers of course – read the menu not just to get a description of the burgers, but also for the entertainment value. Burgers are truly tasty, and made to order. However, during our visit, our burgers took time (~45 minutes) to grill because they had issues with the grill. Was the wait worth it? YES…but we had to drive back to Northern Virginia (~3 hours away) so the delay was no appreciated. A converted “Weiner World” restaurant, Viking Burger is easy to find off the road, a building that is all roof, not much room is available to eat inside; picnic tables are located outside to dine. No beer is sold so you may want to take the tasty burger(s) back home. If ever in the area again, I plan on stopping by…I hope that the broken grill has been fixed! If not for the long delay, the rating would have been much higher.

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 800 Ocala Rd #350, Tallahassee

I was excited to try the Uncut (plant based) burger here but was met with nothing but issues from the door. While ordering the cashiers rings our burgers up as 1/3lb Angus Beef burgers and I’m like “whoa, uh, we are vegetarian. Those need to be changed to the plant based burgers.” She responds by telling me that there is no button in the machine for the Uncut burger and so she has to ring it up this way and then tell the cook to switch it to the Uncut burger. Major red flag! Had I have listed to my gut we would have said “no thank you” and just walked out, but we stayed nonetheless. My boyfriend and I ordered our burgers two different ways. He also ordered a combo and I simply asked for fries and no drink. We were charged for 2 combos anyway and I was handed a cup which I filled with water since I don’t drink sodas or juice. After having been seated for 23 minutes his burger comes to the table and not only was his burger all the way wrong, but when the cashier came back over to us she states that they have run out of fries (this is like 7pm on a Saturday and we are one of only 2 sets of customers in the place) and asks if I’d like onion rings instead. I opt for a combo of rings and sweet potato fries and a full 6 minutes later my burger and sides show up. My burger has the standard toppings on it, not the ones I ordered and my rings were seriously overcooked. If I weren’t already so annoyed and tired I would have sent it back, but I figured I’d just eat so we could get the hell out of the place. The flavor of the Uncut patty is amazing and that is THE ONLY REASON THIS PLACE GETS ONE STAR! Anyone looking for great service and a decent burger (vegan or otherwise) in town would do much better to go to Vertigo. Burgerim is the worst!

Bless Your Heart Burgers 33rd Avenue – Menu with Prices – 5410 NE 33rd Ave, Portland

Located at the former site of Cannon’s Rib Express, Bless Your Heart Burgers (BYH) 33rd Avenue is the second location of BYH and the first location on the east side. There seems to be a lot of hype about BYH’s burgers and I can see why. I wouldn’t say its the best burger in town, but I did really enjoy my Classic Burger (with added sautéed mushrooms and bacon) last night. I love how BYH smashes their burgers to get a super crusty finish on the exterior of the burger. That char added so much flavor to the burger, and the burger was still moist too. The sautéed mushrooms added a nice textural element, though I would skip the bacon next time since it was a bit chewy and definitely low quality. Along with my burger, I also shared Chili Cheese Fries and the Down n Dirty Fries with my partner. Of the two, I’d say the Down n Dirty Fries were my favorite. Both of the fries came with this great beer cheese sauce, but I liked that the Down n Dirty Fries came with griddled onions, peppers, and mushrooms, as I felt like I needed more veggies in my meal due to the use of shredded lettuce in my burger instead of a big piece of lettuce, which is normally my preference. I thought the fries were a tad oily, but still tasty nonetheless.

Brother’s Burgers – Menu with Prices – 20655 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita

Based on Yelp reviews, I was expecting better. A lot better. I actually went a little out of my way today to try this place and am sorry that I did. The good: Opens early and one can get a burger early morning if they are ready for lunch at that time, unlike many places that open for lunch at 11 AM which is usually too late for me. It’s a cozy little place with a friendly welcoming staff. The counter person was friendly and helpful. Turns out that you can add your choice of condiments at the counter which is a nice touch. Burgers are made to order which is also great. They are also grilled it seems from the look of the burger. All burger components are fresh. The place had a friendly local vibe, people addressed by name and knew each other. The bad: Worst burger I have had in several years. Burger patty was badly seared black and crispy on most of the patty on the outside and almost raw in places on the inside. I had to dissect the burger on the table and eat it in pieces to avoid the burned and raw sections. This resulted in being able to eat only about half of the burger meat, and not as a burger but as a plated meal. Totally incompetent cook-cooking is as simple as using the correct temperature combined with the correct elapsed time and neither concept was adhered to here. In addition, the french fry potatoes were not peeled and were more skin than fries. Unhealthy and unacceptable. In addition they were extremely oily and tasted awful. They went right into the trash, as I spit out the first sample and did not eat a single one. For 11 bucks and a long wait due to having only one grille cook this was a total disappointment. I left a tip for the crew before I tried my burger which was a bad move on my part, and as it turned out they should have tipped instead me for the terrible food experience. One more good item: Since I ate only half of the burger and none of the fries, this turns out to be a good place to go if one is on a diet. I am still hungry and will now need to find a real lunch. If not for the positive attitude of the staff here, it would have only received one star. This place should be renamed, “Oh Brother!” Burgers. I will never return here.

Will’s Grill – Menu with Prices – 4011 Sycamore Dairy Rd #100, Fayetteville

This is a nice little burger spot located across from Carmax on Sycamore Dairy Rd. It’s small but it’s a great place to go for lunch. As soon as I entered I was greeted w/ smiles & warmth by a nice little old lady behind the counter. Apparently her son owns this spot and he works the grill while Mom & Pops help out. I got the Cowboy burger w/ BBQ sauce. It came w/ a huge onion ring in it, cheddar cheese & the softest buns I’ve ever had on a burger. Burger was huge and I had to take half of it home. The flavor is on point because it has a chargrilled taste to it. The fries are addicting…seriously! I don’t know what he puts on them but even McDonalds fries can’t compete. For around $9, you get a huge burger, fries, & a drink. I was a huge 5 Guys fan until I ate here and I have truly found my burger spot. ONE issue…they close way to early! (3pm). Will, stay open at least until rush hour is over. (7pm). I guarantee you would have lines going out the door because no one likes to cook these days. If you want hot, fresh, and delicious food w/ a smile, drop by and see Will. You will walk away full & happy.

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 120 W CityLine Dr Suite 600, Richardson

Came for the grand opening and honestly was super disappointed. Waited in line for about like 45 min before opening really hungry and ready to get this free burger and buy some fries and etc. They had like 2 vendors come out and a DJ and had lots of balloons and what not. Finally after waiting in the heat they open the doors at 12:05pm and only let 10 ppl at a time. Me and my bf get inside and we get to “order” and by that I mean they had pre made burgers sitting out and we only got to choose from 2 options the grilled chicken or the regular burger. So now that I didnt get to try the burger I wanted to try ( assuming we could choose any burger since the advertising said free burger.. you would think it would be any of their burgers that you could choose from) we ordered a fries and grabbed our burger from the counter (who knows how long it’s been sitting in the back already made) We sit down the burger is pretty small and super sad. The veggies looked super non existant. I opened the burger and finally found it hiding. The burger was sooo dry and super chewy. Like some frozen patty that you get at your school cafeteria lunch. It was so bad I would not pay like 8 bucks for this. The fries finally came out after we finished our burger and we had to go up there to ask when our fries were done. They had it just sitting up there and no one delivering to our table.. The fries were so small.. and it was like potato chips? It was definitely better than the burgers but still so pricy for the amount of fries and size of it. Also what was really annoying was there was nothing on the table. At least have some napkins… you have to grab everything at a station which was annoying to do when theres a bunch of ppl in the store. Giving 2 stars cause they tried and gave free burgers but honestly this just made me realize why these burger IM have bad reviews and that the quality of these burgers is defin not worth the price. In and out is a million times better than this and cheaper go there instead.

The Habit Burger Grill – Menu with Prices – 3001 Wilshire Blvd Suite A, Santa Monica

First off, I just don’t give 5 stars out to burger joints. On that note, I was really excited to drive by a couple weeks ago to see that The Habit was in my neighborhood. I finally went in today to grab some cheeseburgers for my wife and myself. The place was very clean, the staff was attentive, organized, friendly and efficient. The $4-6 burgers were a very reasonable price for a Santa Monica burger establishment (there’s burger joints around here that sell $9-10 burgers as the starting price). The order took about 5-7 minutes (with 3 people in front of me). That’s a good clip IMO. I got the burgers home (5 minutes away) and opened it right up, looked at it (nice amounts of shredded lettuce, mayo, cheese, tomato and perfectly grilled with nice texture) and started gobbling it down. Juicy, melty cheese and basically a great tasting burger. Top 3 burgers for around here in that price range. I really liked the thick fries with perfect amount of salt. The condiment bar had 3 different kinds of hot peppers, which I highly approve of. Some nice alternative drinks too that aren’t soda, so that was also a pleasant add-on. In a nutshell, I’ll for sure be going back here for more burgers. I hope they stick around and more people hear about them. It’s tough to give In’n’Out competition but I think this place does a fine job in that department (I like Habit’s fries MUCH better too). Give them a try – I think you’ll agree.

Buffalo Wild Wings – Menu with Prices – 431 Gander Dr, Charlottesville

Here goes another bad review: All we wanted was 2 burgers so 1st time we ordered to go we ordered 2 All American burgers ONE with sautéed onions and the SECOND with regular raw onions. We got our food and we’re wondering why we had so many bags…. came home and realized we had an extra salad prior to the one we ordered and we got a medium boneless wing order never ordered the boneless right. Okay so we get home just to realize that both burgers have sautéed onions and one of the burgers looked like it was just thrown in the box not even put together . Fine they gave us 2 food credits to get 2 more burgers another day. Finally today we called back to get our burgers ( asked for them the same way we did the first) just to come home and find BOTH burgers WITHOUT ANY onions and one burger was raw as you can see for yourself meanwhile “they cook them all well done” bullshit. Like how hard can it be ???? Somebody clearly can’t cook back there they need major help. Oh and guess what we got 2 more food credits for the second time I would appreciate them being right the first time cause after two times of the burgers being wrong we really don’t even want them anymore . Check ya burgers before going home

YoYo Burgers and Chicken Menu with Prices 510 N Brookhurst St Unit 103, Anaheim

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and I was greeted by a gentleman named Amar (That’s what it said on my reciept) with a huge smile and a warm welcome. He asked if it was my first time and gave me the store recommendations and went from there. Here’s what I ordered: **Smoked BBQ Spicy Burger Meal** -Even before I entered the store, this one caught my eye. All the toppings just sounded really good together and plus, the guy that helped me out said this was a store favorite as well. The patty itself smelled delicious. It was charred to perfection, but the taste wasn’t all there to be honest.I could barely taste any BBQ sauce on the burger and was highly disappointed. For a burger that costs around $11, the quality of the burger was like your typical one at your local fast food joint. The size of the patty was a fair amount, but the whole burger was really small. I got the waffle fries and a Dr. Pepper as well. Damn, the drink tasted so watered down. **YoYo Sliders** -I went with their Old School Classic, Black and Blue, and their Mediterranean Tasty Beef Burgers for my choice of their 2 oz sliders. You want the honest truth? They all tasted pretty much the same. Three slider for just around $15, are you kidding me? The flavor profile was weak and the burgers were barely filled with anything. **Fries** -I got a side of their regular fries and their waffle fries. The portions for those are really small, but the worst part is that the fries are not fresh. They taste frozen to me and very salty. (The reviews are right about the taters not being fresh, but frozen. I’ve had many many fries at many many restaurants and these were in the bottom 10% easily). Make sure you check out their jalapeno ranch. That was easily the best thing about my meal. They also don’t have a drink machine for customers to use, nor do they have utensils, napkins, and other condiments for our convenience. All of that is hidden behind the counter. The worst part is that the drinks are your typical pepsi brands, but they are hidden behind the counter as well. Here’s the bold, but honest truth. Don’t come here. The burgers are nothing special, the fries are garbage, and it’s really pricey. However, the service was great. Restaurant is also very clean, as they just opened up about two months ago. The music is very mellow and they do have restrooms as well. Parking is horrible. I do hope this business succeeds, but it’s just not for me. I will not be returning. Skip this spot and thank me later.

Pono Burger – Menu with Prices – 829 Broadway, Santa Monica

We were in desperate need of food and everywhere was crazy busy on a Saturday down by the pier so we did a short walk over to this cool place. They were not busy and got us right in. Very unique burgers and a small, but actually nicely sized restaurant. It was in two parts actually and the outer building looks like a half circle of a farm shed. Really welcoming, clean, and nice. For certain meals they have a beverage suggestion of a beer or a wine. The burgers were very expensive, but good. I actually am not a burger fan, and this burger did not change my mind about that…but everyone else LOVED it. The waitstaff was very friendly. You have to order a side of fries fir your side. I would come back if others were wanting to go, but this would not be my first choice only because I do not appreciate burgers the way other people do.

Roger’s Burgers – Menu with Prices – 591 N D St, San Bernardino

I tried out Rogers Burgers with a co-worker after another co-worker had suggested we should have the decadent Wild and Wreckless Burger that he just loved. So, we did. Rogers Burgers is not in the best part of town, but then again, there is very little in the City of San Bernardino that would be considered nice. This place is an older Mom and Pop type burger stand that has two locations, here and in Burbank with possibly more locations coming. Nice but not overly inviting and a bit loud inside the small eating/cooking area, Rogers gives you just enough space for a quick meal before you move on. We tried the Wild and Wreckless Burger with was a 1/3 lb 100% Angus Beef burger, tomato red onion mustard sauce, pickles, bacon, chili cheese and topped with pastrami! This was one really good sized, messy but tasty burger. The tomato red onion mustard sauce was unique and was very good with their chili and bacon make this burger well worth the $7.49 price. Rogers offers other burgers, sandwiches, breakfasts and combos with fries as well. I opted not to get the fries for $1.99 as I am trying to cut back but they do look really good and will try them next time. For the most part it looks like Rogers keeps things fresh and simple and do a good job with their burgers. Everything is cooked fresh and the wait was a bit long but to be expected with freshly made burgers. Their breakfast burritos also looked good in the pictures and would like to try them. I hope they expand out into the Upland/Rancho area where I think to might do some good business

Joy Love Burgers – Menu with Prices – 6630 FM 1463 Suite A100, Katy

Went there for lunch today with a friend. It was our first time ever in any Joy Love Burgers’ store. Heard so much about the Mason Rd one and then Yelp sent me notification yesterday about the FM 1463 location as Hot place for you ? Well the store is kinda small for the lunch traffic which I believe is being generated from all the good reviews. By the time we finished ordering and getting our drinks a booth opened luckily. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with Jalapenos and Fries and my friend ordered a Cheeseburger with Fries. It took 10 – 15 minutes for the order. Service at the counter was good, they were helpful and courteous. My Bacon Cheese Burger tasted very good juicy because of the vegetables not the burger patty, Bacon was crisp and crunchy. My friend did not have much issues with their burger. All they said that this cheeseburger was one level above the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder ? meaning they liked it. The only thing I had an issue with was that why are these new burger stores smashing the patty flat squeezing all the juices out. I think the Bacon Cheeseburger I got could be more juicy if it was prepared without smashing the the burger patty flat during the cook. Also it is pricey for the type of burger.
