This place is amazing. I stopped in to grab lunch because I was visiting the butterfly place right by it. I needed something to go and when I looked at the menu I thought it would be difficult to eat a waffle on the go but the waitress said it could be done, that I could eat it like a sandwich, and they wrapped it up for me. I got the one with the Brie cheese, Nutella, raspberries, and powdered sugar. Oh. My. Gosh. It was delicious. I’m not even a big fan of Nutella, and would never think to put all those ingredients in one sandwich, but it definitely worked. I wish I had another one right now. I had a bit of a wait, but they said one waffle iron was down and really it takes time to cook a waffle and make the whole sandwich anyways, and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. While I was waiting, I was eyeing everyone’s coffee drinks and wished I was staying closer to this place to come back in the morning and get one. I love the decor also and all the personal pictures on the walls; you can tell the owner’s heart and soul are in this place. Definitely go.

Sylvia’s Waffles – Menu with Prices – 2152 Drew St, Clearwater

What a disappointment. I haven’t eaten a liege waffle since my last trip to Belgium so I was super excited to try one here. Sadly, the waffle was a disgraceful imitation of the real thing. The dough must have been overworked because the waffle did not capture the delicate balance of density and lightness like a real liege waffle. If this was the only problem with the waffle I would have eaten a few bites, thrown it away, and never thought about it again. What annoyed me was that they served me a waffle covered in burnt waffle residue. While the waffle has sugar pearls in the batter (sugar burns) that is no excuse as I’ve never encountered a Liege waffle with any burnt areas in the 100s of waffles I’ve had in Belgium. Either their waffle iron was too hot or they didn’t grease it enough, I’m not sure. What I do know is that the fact they chose to serve it was an insult to Belgium as well my tastebuds. I didn’t bother attempting to get my money back or get a new waffle because: 1. The waffle price didn’t break the bank. 2. Even if they did serve me a non-burnt waffle the waffle it self was not worth eating anyway. Doing anything but walking away would have been an exercise in frustration. I just hope their other guests don’t know what a real liege waffle tastes like so they won’t be as bummed as I was.

Dobo’s Deli The Massage Cafe – Menu with Prices – 19 S San Joaquin St, Stockton

I went in on my lunch break. It was hot as heck in there. There were like 5 people waiting for food. The cook (who was there by herself) doesn’t aknowledge me for 5 minutes, or the two ladies who come in after me, or the third lady after them. The other two ladies were waiting 5 minutes for the cook to even look up and figure out that the order that was sitting on the counter was thiers (a call in). She takes 5 minutes tocheck them out… After about 15-20 minutes of waiting and one other person (the third lady she didn’t aknowledge) walking out, I ask her if my food is ready, and she says she is starting mine next. I wasted 20 minutes of my lunch waiting for food that didn’t even get STARTED. Now I have to wait somewhere else and be late to work…or go hungry. It’s 12:30 in the afternoon. You have to be able to handle the lunch crowd. Im still hungry because I told her not even to bother with the grilled cheese sandwich I ordered. Should i really have to wait 20 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich?

My Waffle Crush – Menu with Prices – 5735 E McKellips Rd #107, Mesa

I’ve got a crush on Waffle Crush!! First off, this body was built by Nutella! Second, a waffle topped with Nutella, bananas and whipped cream and a caramel sauce??? I’m down any day! I have to thank my wife for Turning me on to waffle crush a few years ago. She faithfully follows them on Instagram and lets me know where they are. I guess you could say we stock them just for their waffles. Crispy waffles topped with anything you desire that’s on their menu, what else could you ask for? The texture of the food complements each other miraculously. Sorry Yelpers, I’m NOT the culinary expert they are, so I can’t tell you exactly what makes them so good. All I can say is if you see them at a farmers market or follow them on Instagram, stop and Get yourself some. Its heaven on your plate.

24 Hot Chicken & Waffle Bar – Nashville Hot Chicken Full Bar – Menu with Prices – 1885 Dallas Pkwy, Plano

Run away, run very far away! My fiancée and I always joke and call this location death row because every restaurant that open in this spot always fails. However this place seemed like a good concept and maybe things would turn around… We first enter and there are two groups in front of us, so it takes about 15 mins for us to get to order. We got the Sanday sandwich, the slider, Mac and cheese, fries, and two of their $1 craft beers. The cashier for some reason kept us waiting to take our order, then proceeded to take our order from our side of the counter, I thought hmm this is weird but whatever. There was also only two people working…even wingstop has more but I guess they know more about running a chicken business. The cashier told us the only craft beers we could choose from where an IPA and a cider. We chose the cider from the cooler since the cooler was looking low on the types of beers they had and we sat down. Roughly 10 mins later the cashier brings us two beers. We are confused because she never said anything about delivering the beers and we thought we already had gotten our ciders. She told us that those ciders were the wrong ones and she would have to charge us more. Ok again she never communicated that to us, but I’ll pay for the drinks that we got. The wait for the food is at least 25+ mins, ours however took longer. The cook actually skipped us and the people in front of us and served the people that ordered after us first. The cook then serves the couple in front of us, but our order is no where to be seen. The cashier realized the mistake and begins to start making our order 25…minutes…after…we should have been eating. Now instead of bringing out our whole order together they decide to then bring out only half the order and the cashier then says she is still going to charge us for the incorrect ciders! My fiancée kindly pointed out that the cashier never said that she was actually going to bring out the beers and that also our order had been skipped and no apology was given. The cashier said that it was the cooks fault and not her fault, really great customer service right there. Finally on to the food. If you know anything about cooking chicken you can’t rush it to cook faster, but the cook seemed to have pulled my chicken out sooner that it should have been. As soon as I got close to the middle of the sandwich my chicken wasn’t as hot as the first couple of bites and was really squishy signaling that it wasn’t cooked all the way. I stopped eating it and was just in awe on how this place was still in business. The sauce on the chicken was ok, the Mac and cheese is so dry since it is just sitting uncovered waiting to be served. The best part was the fries and the raising canes type sauce that they had. The waffle on the slider fell apart and my sandwich was a complete mess. So to sum it up if you want bad service, possible food poisoning, long order times and also long wait times to receive your food then go here, but if not…….then you are better off going to Whistle Britches at the mall or the other location on Frankford and Preston. Hell even Torchy’s Tacos does a better chicken and waffle taco.

Maple Street Biscuit Company- Frisco – Menu with Prices – 3288 Main St Suite 111, Frisco

Wow! This place blew me away. I consider myself a breakfast specialty foodie and this is the best breakfast I remember. The ingredient quality, recipes and atmosphere were all fantastic. I had the Five & Dime and the waffle (they call their waffle BAM). Granted this was two meals but I wanted to try both. They were both fantastic! The Five & Dime was a biscuit sandwich with fried chicken tenders, bacon, cheese, an egg and homemade sausage gravy. Savory, complex and perfectly executed. I also had the waffle, which I was skeptical because I usually don’t like “things” in my waffle — in this case bacon and Asiago cheese. But they were small in size so as to not change the texture and the flavors blended fantastically. Most waffles are just sweet with minimal flavor and you’re lucky if they cook it right. Not this one. The malt, real maple syrup, bacon and slight hint of Asiago made this one truly the best I have ever had. Two “must-try’s”. I can’t wait to come back.

Santos Coffee US Menu with Prices 2024 3rd Ave N, Birmingham

From the street, the space looks so charming and very “European,” and when I saw them advertising their crepes I knew I wanted to give it a try. But when I got inside I realized that this is more of a coffee stand than a coffee shop. There’s practically no seating at all. It’s really just a place to pop in to grab a cup of joe and go. I didn’t order a crepe (wish I had), because I saw they had “donut waffles” on the menu. How can you pass up a donut waffle?!?! I ordered one and was asked if I wanted it sprinkled with cinnamon sugar or served with a fruit drizzle. I was afraid it would be too sweet, so I ordered it plain. I also ordered a large latte. The donut waffle was not impressive. They literally took a donut out of a box in the refrigerator and stuck it in a waffle iron to heat. And even though I didn’t order it sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, it was sprinkled with powdered sugar AND cinnamon sugar. Funny thing, though: when I went to eat it, it still wasn’t sweet. It was a little bitter and just not good at all. The latte fared much better. It was exactly what I expected.

First Watch – Pinnacle Village at 119th Street – Menu with Prices – 12040 Blue Valley Pkwy, Overland Park

We stopped by this restaurant after church, and this restaurant welcomed us with friendly staff and amazing food. It reminded me of a big open kitchen that you would see on tv. There were some cast iron skillets hanging up for decoration, and the light fixtures were among some of the most unique ones I’ve seen. Service was excellent, and it did not take long for our food to come out. My husband and I both got the tri-fecta. It included your choice of meat, eggs any way you like, and either a pancake or waffle. With mine, I got the waffle and he got the pancake. The waffle was airy and topped with Powdered sugar. I tasted his Pancake, and I would recommend the waffle over the pancake. The pancake was good…but the waffle was much better (trust me on this). We both topped our meals off with a nice glass of juice. I had a simple apple juice, while my husband had the Kale Tonic Fresh Juice, which was delicious!! I had a very good experience here as a first-Timer, and I will definitely be back!

Darkshot Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1 Lake St, Reno

Litterally some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I really suggest going here even if your not staying at the renaissance. Scott is a really nice guy who takes care of his customers so definitely go support local buisness and get some amazing coffee and great service at the same time!

Ball Ball Waffle – Menu with Prices – 2999 Payne Ave Suite 126, Cleveland

So having heard about Ball Ball I had to give them a try. Located in the middle of the Asiatown Plaza in a small storefront is Ball Ball Waffle. They have taken the space and added some nice touches, including the white tile walls in the kitchen area, the rough hewn wood counter and the “Ball” letters on the wall. The menu has a number of sweet waffles, a couple of savory waffles and drinks. Having stopped by twice I have tried both a sweet and a savory waffle. The waffles are kind of the reverse of what we are used to, instead of a thick waffle with indents, Ball Ball makes waffles that are thicker balls connected by thinner batter. My first time I got one of the traditional waffles topped with condensed milk and peanut butter to which I added a scoop of chocolate ice cream. The waffle is made into a sort of cone and served in a cup with the ice cream in the middle. Although a bit difficult to eat with the ice cream, it tasted really good, the waffle is mildly sweet with a firm outside and soft inside. The waffle serves as a good canvas on which they can paint the other flavors to make a small masterpiece. The cheese waffle was interesting, as the waffle batter is still a bit sweet and contrasts nicely with the cheese that has been caramelized by the waffle iron. Served flat, this is easier to eat as you can just pull off individual balls. Ball Ball is well worth a visit if you are looking for a snack, light meal or something sweet. The waffles are a bit softer then the traditional American style waffle. Be aware that the hours are limited with the shop open from 11am – 4pm most days. Would love if they were open later in the day on the weekend so you could grab some waffles after dinner.

Fisher’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 1233 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

Fantastic sandwich joint c the best breakfast sandwich in the area. They’re subs are great but I would consider them overloaded to the point that they’re difficult to eat. The wait can be quite long for a breakfast sandwich but it has always been worth it to me. Plus it’s the Broad Street market so while you wait you can walk down and grab a coffee and look at the produce stand to see what’s local and ripe!

Waffle House Menu with Prices 1627 Walton Way, Augusta

I witnessed and experienced poor customer service. When I first arrived, I noticed a customer who was a former neighbor of mine and upset that his call in order from 30 mins prior was not ready. He then noticed the dish had onions and he had requested no onions. The employee stated she wrote down no onions. Somehow the cooks didn’t get the memo. So instead of recooking his meal, the employee and cook attempted to pick the onions from his meal. At this time the customer expressed his frustration with having to wait on a 30min old call in order and then that it was also made wrong, and the fact that they attempted to pick off the onions. He then told them to forget the whole order and went elsewhere. What they didn’t know what that this man is the owner of a local restaurant here as well. He knows business and He knows customer service. By this time I knew my basic (all star special) order should be ready since I had been waiting awhile myself. Well it wasn’t. As soon as I started to become frustrated I was presented with my food on dishes as if I were going to eat in. Which was never stated by me in person or on the phone and the fact that I never got comfortable enough to take a seat puzzled me how they could think this. They then scrambled together to dump my food into to-go containers. Which at this point was fine, whatever was quicker being that I had just worked a full 12hr shift all night. I was given my food and waited on a second container with my waffle. But there wasn’t one. The employee stated that She didn’t know I ordered one, I explained I have always known the “all star special” to come with a waffle. The employee then noticed a fresh waffle that had just come up on the griddle and the other server yelled that it was for her table and snatched it up. She then asked me to wait additional time for a waffle to cook. I explained that I had been more than patient but enough was enough and that I wanted a refund. A different employee jumped in to help her by refunding me only for the waffle!!! I had to explain that I needed everything refunded and wished them a nice day. Waffle House, you are in the center of the medical district and businesses. You have got to step your game up in the location you’re in. I’m sure you all have forgotten me, but I never forgot this experience. Yes I did get my money back, but I feel like I was owed so much more.

Restaurant Iron – Menu with Prices – 22 N Palafox St, Pensacola

Iron is always amazing. It’s a really great restaurant to have a one on one date night. The service is amazing and makes it more about the whole experience. I’d recommend doing the whole thing- appetizers, cocktails, main course, dessert. Drop some money for a great experience, it’s worth it. Our server was Nick and my partner and I found him delightful. We both kept commenting on his warm and inviting vibe. For starters we had the escargot, foie deviled eggs, and the tartare. All 5 stars. Usually when you go to a restaurant something can be tasty but leave something to be desired… The appetizers at iron are perfected. When you eat them you can really tell a lot of thought and care was put into their creation. The appetizers continue to be my highlight everytime I visit Iron. For coktails we had the old fashioned, the Wolfpack, the Kentucky crush, and the A peach. We’ve also had the Goddess in the past. Our favorites are the Goddess, Wolfpack, and Kentucky. For entrees I had the lamb belly, he had the beef cheek. While the lamb was great, I don’t think it’s a flavor that’s best suited for how big the portion is. Seems like if they served one medallion as an appetizer it would be better. The lamb is tasty but has a really overwhelming flavor. I wasn’t able to finish my plate because the flavor was so heavy. The beef cheeks refer really nice. Like a way elevated version of your grandma’s roast and potatoes. I’ve had the duck too and that’s my favorite entre iron offers. For dessert we had the Nutella pie and the caramel apple creme brulee. Both very good. The creme brulee was really hard to eat though. I love the idea but the apple should be more cooked so you can cut it. We could barely cute the apple with the knife provided. Overall great meal. We will return and hopefully request Nick as our server!
