I was so excited to try this place. The reviews were excellent, and the pictures looked awesome. When we walked in. The ambiance was great. We were sat quickly, and told they were running behind, so please be patient. So we were. Things weren’t going fast, but not slow either. We got beers, and asked for waters. The appetizers were a bit slow, but nothing crazy especially since the we’re running behind. Then the food came out. My wife ordered the ahi sandwich with honey ginger aioli, and I got the killer Mac burger. The ahi sandwich had no aioli on it so it was essentially ahi toast. Very dry. When this was brought up with our server, she didn’t know if it was supposed to come with the aioli, even though that’s how it’s listed on the menu. Then she kind of argued with us, saying it had just melted into the bread. Seemed reasonable. So she brought us a side of aioli, and the flavor was so strong (and good) there was no way it was on the bread. So now my wife was just dipping ahi in the aioli. The killer Mac burger was huge, it had a fried patty of Mac and cheese on top, excellent concept, but it was so burned that it just tasted like charcoal. So I took it off and tried to keep eating, but then realized the burger was burned as well. I was eating slowly since my wife didn’t really have her food yet. So I didn’t realize how burned it was until a few bites in. But the waitress seemed to catch on that we weren’t overly pleased with the food. We weren’t being mean or rude, busy nights happen. No problem. We figured they would at least comp the ahi toast, but they did not. I am sure it was just a bad night, but it made quite the impression.

Local Beer, Patio and Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 5730 Hidcote Dr Suite 2, Lincoln

My wife and I went to Local on Friday May 17th , for the first time for a beer, so we ordered a couple beers, and they were very good, and then decided to share a pretzel, which was great. Then we decided to order two meals to go. I ordered a Crispy Mushroom sandwich, and my wife ordered a Flatbread with chicken, and no buffalo sauce. When we got home, we had a chicken finger sandwich, and a buffalo flat bread. So then we decided to take some friends there tonight, and I ordered the Crispy Mushroom sandwich again, and my wife ordered a club sandwich, when the order came they brought me a Swiss Mushroom burger, and my wife’s sandwich was correct. I told the server, this was the second time I have tried to order the Crispy Mushroom sandwich, and she didn’t seem to care, I did have her order me the correct sandwich, which was just OK. This place is very mis managed. I am surprised that Milton the owner has not changed the management, after looking at all the negative reviews. All of the Hiro 88 restaurants are great.

Addeo Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2352 Arthur Ave, The Bronx

Small bakery in the Bronx. We read reviews for the bakeries in the area and it seemed like this might be the best one to pick up some bread for dinner. My inlaws love fresh bread and cheese and I knew they would appreciate good fresh baked bread. When you look in the window you see a bunch of different loaves of bread. It makes it hard to choose. We went with three. They are all so delicious. Like seriously some of the best bread I have ever eaten. I wasn’t alone, my wife’s whole family loved this bread and raved about it. I have only eaten them with butter but I intend on making garlic bread with one loaf and grilled cheeses and French toast tomorrow with the leftover bread. The lady working inside was super nice. I asked her for a recommendation and she showed me what most people buy there. It was one of the three that I was selecting. This place is a must if you are in the area and are looking for killer Italian bread. All three loaves cost $10 which was totally worth it. The loaves of bread are really big. This bakery also smells amazing. There is metered parking all around so your best bet is to drive up to the bakery and just look for parking.

West Caribbean Cuban Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2215 S Combee Rd, Lakeland

Worst Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten, tiny portion of meat on the sandwich and they don’t use roasted pork like any real Cuban I’ve had and I’ve had TONS….they use a nasty tasting sliced pork. The bread taste like regular white bread and nothing like true Cuban bread, asked for my sandwich pressed and it was not pressed at all. Beef empanada was dry and tasteless. Breakfast menu was tiny and service was slow and horrible. I was embarrassed that I brought a group of 7 from my job there that’s for sure. Also k ow their FB is fake as they deleted my negative comment on their fake sandwich picture post and never even reached out to me about the issues.

Chuck Lager America’s Tavern – Menu with Prices – 4500 Linden Hill Rd, Wilmington

Visited today for brunch and ordered the Bombolini breakfast burger – which is basically a cheeseburger with fluffy donut buns, fried egg, and sriracha aioli. It comes with fries smothered in syrup with bits of bacon. To get the simple things out of the way, first I’ll say the service was fast and friendly. The burger, however, I will not order again. My interpretation of a fried egg is cooked all the way through.. the yolk was not. I got the burger well done and it was very dry. I got the aioli on the side and it was ok, but I don’t like sriracha. Seems like whoever created this meal thought the aioli would carry the flavor of the burger. Lastly, my least favorite were the fries. It was weird, but kind of made sense in the beginning. I liked it at first but I’m not a fan of the overwhelming smell of maple syrup. About halfway through eating the fries I got an upset stomach. I think the fries were really innovative but it was definitely too sweet and too much sugar.. the meal wasn’t salty sweet like it should have been it was just…. sweet. The sugar on the buns taste like cotton candy, the meat was dry and had no flavor.. I think this meal needs to be revisited by the chef.. The preparation of the burger needs work, but I think maybe substitute the fries for sweet potato fries or something salty. This did not work for me and now my stomach hates me. It was just… odd. I thought the burger would be up my alley because I have a weird obsession with chocolate and sugar, but it’s not something I see anyone else enjoying, unless they love syrup smothered food. I would return and try the lunch/dinner menu and desserts though.

Stats Sports Grill At Wrigley West – Menu with Prices – 860 N Riverview, Mesa

I read previous reviews so didn’t expect much, even then it was a frustrating disappointment. The decor was that of an upscale sports bar with plenty of TVs for watching games. The service was friendly but slow, particularly the kitchen. The oft-followed resturant formula of plenty-o-salt and animal fats here is taken to extremes, at least with the salt. The au-jouix for the French Dip was so salty it burned my tongue a bit. And the kids didn’t eat their fries. I’ve never seen that. The 2 thin slices of meat were more than adequate for me, but I think most people would prefer a bit more for their money. The lack of meat seemed to be compensated with extra Provolone. Animal fat: check! The veggie burger nearly had the color of a burger, but with a strange texture and artificial smokey flavor that gave the impression that the chemicals within weren’t safe to eat. I’d say just admit you’re not up for vegetables and order a real burger instead. My wife said her shrimp and rice dish was fine. And while the broccoli and carrots where over-steamed they tasted OK, which is.how I rounded up to 2 stars.

COPA Coffee Parlor – Menu with Prices – 2944 Clark Ave, Long Beach

Decided to write this review after my second visit. My first visit a couple of weeks ago caught me off guard since the coffee scene in Long Beach is decent but nothing I would call phenomenal. I came here to fuel up on some caffeine, have a bite to eat and get some work done with my wife. We had the avocado toast topped with a poached egg, the beef sandwich and a breakfast sandwich with a couple cups of cold brew. It was certainly a cut above anything else we have had in town. The cold brew was perfect. It had a mellow flavor with no hint of bitterness and was nice and strong. What was most exceptional was the food. The avocado toast was outstanding (which isn’t something I would typically say about avocado toast). Sprouts, watermelon radish, pickled red onion, nasturtium petals, pansy petals, crumbled goat cheese, and a perfectly poached egg atop some very tasty avocado and a fluffy flavorful fresh slice of thick toasted bread made for something more than what the menu implied. The beef sandwich with horseradish was no less impressive and the breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. So much care was put into everything we ordered and the kitchen here has so much talent and was served with a super courteous staff. The food here is fresh and tasty. This first visit was awesome which is why on our second visit I was disappointed. The service we received was great when we were ordering. The food that came out was made with the same care although there had been a mixup in ordering. My wife had ordered a bagel with egg and avocado and I guess the person taking our order thought I wanted my avocado toast on a bagel too. When I brought the plate back to the counter and said I didn’t want my toast on a bagel but rather the normal sliced bread one of the kitchen staff came out and said I ordered it that way. I had said I didn’t. He appeared irate and went back into the kitchen to remake the plate. Ordering mix ups happen and it’s no big deal. I think if he hadn’t responded to me in such a gruff way I would’ve just had the food as it was made. As I waited, I decided I really didn’t want to eat there after receiving that kind of reaction. The interaction left me feeling pretty uncomfortable. We went to the counter and asked for a box for my wife’s food and said not to worry about remaking the toast. As we were getting into our car, he brought the remade toast out to me in the parking lot telling me he already made it twice so I might as well take it. While I appreciate the gesture I will likely not go back. This place serves up some absolutely delicious stuff but I think It’s really not cool to take out your frustration over a mixed up order on the customer. I’m pretty bummed that I won’t be having what is some of the best food and probably the best coffee in Long Beach again. This sort of experience deserves a one star but I’m giving three based on the quality of what’s served.

Starting From Scratch Café – Menu with Prices – 400 Aviation Blvd #300, Santa Rosa

I work in the business park and use this cafe for catering frequently (so nice that they deliver for meetings). I’ve also been known to frequent it on a midday walk around the business park. Their iced coffee is an excellent and refreshing midday pick-me-up, and they have numerous gluten free and vegan options, which are much appreciated–and I’m not talking freezer burned Udi’s here–they make their gluten free bread FROM SCRATCH, and their (also homemade) gluten free AND vegan veggie burgers are fantastic, as is the mushroom sandwich (hold the cheese, caramelize the onions). The prices are reflective of the fact that the goods are both made in-house and largely sourced from local producers and farmers. So nice to have a delicious and healthful option so close to my office (and they have NEVER been annoyed with me asking for modifications to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies and flexitarianism). Plus when you go here, you are supporting a locally-owned business, and 9.9/10 times you’ll probably have one of the owners take your order. Biggest complaint is that their gf baked goods (minus the killer bread, which I’ve never experienced being sold out) are usually sold out by lunchtime, but goes without saying. 10/10 would recommend.

Steel Cup Café – Menu with Prices – 2201 N Lakewood Blvd Suite E, Long Beach

This is a lovely establishment. I’ve gotten food to go here once and ate here at 12 on a weekday a couple days back. Both experiences were largely positive, though I did encounter a significant issue I’ll get into in a bit. When I ordered food to go a few weeks ago, I got the French Toast sticks and breakfast potatoes $10. Reasonable amount for the quality and quality of the food. The French Toast sticks were like nothing I’ve ever had and enough of a meal on their own. Delicious honey butter and maple syrup served alongside them. Crunch and delicious sticks. Just an awesome, creative feat of food genius. The breakfast potatoes were good too, though I didn’t like them nearly as much as the sticks. That said, I found them pretty spicy, and I will admit that I don’t have the highest spice tolerance. When I came last Wednesday, I was bummed to learn that the French Toast sticks are part of their brunch offerings and only served on the weekends. I got a breakfast sandwich for $8. Pretty cool that you can customize the sandwich to your heart’s content and no matter what ingredients you get it’s still $8. I got biscuits for the buns, roasted tomato garlic aioli, scrambled eggs, havarti cheese, and peppered pork belly for my meat. The sandwich was pretty dang delicious and came in 10. The biscuits were crunchy and soft on the inside, and enormous! The eggs were creamy, cheese was nicely melted. I surprisingly liked the peppered pork belly, though I am not the biggest pepper fan. I do wish they offered plain pork belly as well. I’m sure many other people would appreciate the choice of both. I hate tomatoes, but was actually enjoying the garlic aioli. Fortunately it did not have the strongest tomato taste. It wasn’t all good though. When I was the eating the sandwich I noticed what looked like quite a few tiny hairs. I at first ignored them, as I figured they were tiny food wisps that happened to look like tiny hairs, perhaps from the eggs. But a little over halfway into the sandwich I found a larger one that was undoubtedly a hair (brown or black, forget exactly). I brought the sandwich to the guy working the counter and explained what had happened. He kindly offered to make a new sandwich or refund me. But because I didn’t have much of the sandwich left and definitely wouldn’t have room for a whole other one, I asked for the refund, which he granted with no problem. I ate the rest of the sandwich very carefully but did not find any more hairs. Now despite this unpleasant experience, I will still be back. The establishment handled it with grace and the food was delicious nonetheless. I do believe the hair thing was a fluke, though I will be sure to update my review if I find hairs again on a future visit. Summary: – DELICIOUS and creative French Toast sticks – very spicy house potatoes. Not my fav – delicious customized breakfast sandwich – I did find quite a few hairs, but upon bringing it to the worker’s attention, was quickly refunded. Seems to be a fluke. – good and quick service

Sam’s Tavern Menu with Prices 931 108th Ave NE, Bellevue

First time i am at this location, order a bottle of wine, wings, tenders, salad and a burger, we start eating watching the seahawks game and my husband was eating the burger and in the middle it was raw like running blood, i talk to the server about it and her answered was “that is grease” and then i told her that he didn’t like it like that ,can you please cook it more ,and she said that was how medium well was prepared and then laughed sarcastically at my face pulling the tray of my hands, i pull the tray back and ask her what was so funny about that. The server never asked how he would like the burger prepared. When the burger came back I ask to speak to the manager but there was no manager on the scene, the guy that was running the food say he Was the assistant manager ,I explained him the situation and he apologize saying he will take out the burger from my bill. At that point I didn’t finish my dinner and didn’t watch the game because of the uncomfortable situation the waitress put me in. She came back with the check saying i will not take out the burger because i saw you are writing a yelp review… at that point i was furious so i stand up and walk to the bar ,then the waitress made this comment to my husband “this is your wife.. i am so sorry for you” . She crossed the line. The bartender was really nice to talk to me and he told me if i want a discount besides the burger, i told him i was not complaining about the money, it was about respect and service, i pay my bill and left. I was so disappointed of the service i was provide. When i was talking to the bartender i was crying of anger. I can believe she disrespected me the way ,what she did that is so unprofessional i will expect that someone will contact me and give me a follow up please. At this point I don’t know if the server Mikayla did all that as a racist matter ,because i was talking in spanish or because i am mexican. I call this morning to the restaurant to try to speak with the manager, but no one answered.

Emge’s Deli & Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 206 Main St, Evansville

My wife and I just had a wonderful breakfast!! We went there thinking it was gonna be order at the counter, which is customary, but theyâ??re trying something new on Saturdays. They actually waited on us. My usual at any breakfast place is a Western omelet and some kinda of meat on the side, but our waitress suggested a French Toast sandwich so I got both. When I think of French toast Iâ??ve never thought of a sandwich, to my surprise the ham, egg, cheese accompanied with a side of syrup is probably the best breakfast sandwich Iâ??ve ever eaten!! WOW, definitely coming back!!

Etter-Harbin Alumni Center Menu with Prices 2110 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin

Arguably one of the most underrated, least known gems on campus. Tucked comfortably inside the alumni center, Texas Expresso offers delicious paninis at a very affordable price. I always get either the BLT sandwich or the roast beef sandwich. Both sandwiches taste quite good because the meat juices seep into the bread when the paninis are pressed, and the sundried tomato aioli / pesto aioli are delicious dipping sauces. In my opinion (just an opinion, not a cold and hard fact), Texas Expresso can be a better deal than Fricano’s! Pro tip: If you are coming for lunch, check the Hooked App to see if Texas Expresso is offering a special: you can snag a sandwich, chips, and drink for just $5.99.

Lucky Greek – Menu with Prices – 123 N McKinley St, Corona

I went for the first time today after driving past it alot. The food is a little less than as to be expected in this type of burger/mexican / pastrami/ sandwich place. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, which werent great or terrible. They were over priced at 3.25 each. They had chicken, rajas, onion, and tomato with a spicy green salsa. The salsa was the best part of the soggy tacos. The chicken seemed boiled or something. I also got the pastrami sandwich meal, the pastrami sanwich was as expected, I like that is was light on the bread, but it was pretty soggy. The fries that came with it were exactly what youd expect, but there were only about 1/4 the amount of fries you get at any other similar establishment. The pastrami meal wasnt worth the 10.50 they charged for it, especially since you only get a small fries and medium drink. My order with 3 chicken tacos and a pastrami meal totaled out to 22$ and change. Probably wont be back.
