When you see a new place and 1. It has all five star ratings and 2. You like falafel, it’s a no-brainer to try it. And, yes, I’m adding to the five-star reviews! Small place with inside and outside dining, very limited menu (but do one thing very well and that’s ok)! If you like falafel, you should definitely put this on your list (I’m sad I don’t live here!) Crispy, flavorful falafel patties in pita that is definitely NOT grocery store pita. Extensive condiment bar with everything from harissa to a spicy green sauce that was oh so flavorful. The blood orange slaw, hummus, tzatziki, pickled onions, all were delicious. About six different beers on tap plus wine and non-alcoholic drinks. Very friendly and welcoming service. Hope this place will still be here next time I am in Bend!

Roro’s: Modern Lebanese Menu with Prices 2403, 5655 General Washington Dr unit a, Alexandria

Roro’s is in an unassuming strip plaza, tucked away in an industrial/business area in Alexandria. They offer various mezze (chips and hummus, za’atar fries, kibbeh, etc.), pita wraps, and kabob platters. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: Kibbeh (four fried dumplings, filled with ground beef, roasted pine nuts, spices, and herbs, served with a side of housemade tzatziki sauce; one of my favorite foods is the kibbeh, and here, they make it super flavorful and yummy; it does fall apart easily, though); Falafel (the falafel was slightly bland, but good with the tahini sauce and the turnip pickles); and, a mixed Kabob Platter (chicken, steak, and kafta; comes with a side of fattoush salad, a side of hummus, white basmati rice, and grilled peppers and onions; this also came with 3 mini pita pockets; the chicken was the most flavorful and tastiest, so I’ll probably try the chicken shwarma the next time!). The star of the meal were the mini pita pockets – you can tell that they were housemade and were just super fresh and yummy! Great dipped into the hummus or to eat with your platter. They also sell these in a bag, so pick one up – you won’t regret it! There’s also a few bakers rack with some groceries, such as packaged bulgar, rice, pickled veggies, etc. The staff members were all friendly, and there are a few tables to dine-in. Plenty of parking. +tasty chicken kabobs +delicious mini pita pockets! +plenty of parking

Chickpeas Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 700 N 10th St, Sacramento

First time here and we got the falafel pita. The falafel itself was really good, crunchy on the outside moist and parsley green on the inside. Which paired nicely in the pita pocket with delicious humus cucumber and tomato. However I was disappointed that they ran out of tzatziki sauce, it’s part of the Mediterranean food, the tahini sauce was a good replacement but it was still not tzatziki sauce. I also tried 3 of their self-serve salads the garbanzo was my favorite! The tabbouleh salad and carrot salad were good but seemed to lack salt, tasted very lite in flavor. What I absolutely appreciated is getting to put my own toppings in my pita pocket. The Mediterranean pickles are on point, so are the seasoned onions (only foodies will understand) This place is totally worth checking out

Charlie’s Gyros – Menu with Prices – 200 Main St #103B, Huntington Beach

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while I do enjoy a good falafel and Charlie’s did not disappoint While I was waiting for my food, I overheard someone saying “this is the best falafel I’ve ever had” I was pretty excited to see how it tasted I ordered the falafel wrap with fries on a pita and got the hot red sauce the fries were hot and freshly made with a good amount of seasoning on them. the falafel wrap was incredible. this was probably in the ranks of the top five falafels i’ve ever had. It may even be the best falafel i’ve ever had. the pita was soft and warm. the whole thing was loaded with perfectly fried falafels. the flavor was great and i could pick out a lot of the spices popping through. there was a good amount of salad in the wrap and sauce, i couldn’t tell if it was hummus or tahini but it was awesome! the red sauce tasted like sambal olek. I think a good addition would have been some pickled beets and turnips on the side. even though there was a generous amount of falafel in my pita, i didn’t feel overstuffed after I inhaled it. usually with some falafel places the falafel sits in your stomach like a rock; this however was delicious and not heavy at all do yourself a favor and check this place out especially if you’re vegetarian! its delicious!

Falafel Time – Menu with Prices – 6475 W Charleston Blvd #110, Las Vegas

Falafel Time is the newest food counter to set up shop inside the CSN food court. Menu has falafel and beef shawarma, available in wraps or plates, with a selection of sides. Tight menu means good execution of everything! Came in for a falafel plate, staff were great about accommodating a couple of adjustments. Falafel was hot and fresh, soft inside and crispy outside- one of the better versions in town. Pita seemed store bought but was amply portioned. I also enjoyed the hummus and house-pickled veggies. $11 vegetarian plate filled me up for lunch with leftover pita to spare. Would love to see menu add chicken shawarma, but if that’s not an option at least offering feta, olives, and that green spicy sauce as add-ons would be awesome.

Mediterranean Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 624 Independence Blvd Suite 106, Virginia Beach

I’ve been here twice, once for lunch, and the second time, I brought my fiancee for dinner. Personally, I love falafel and hummus a lot. Since moving back to the Tidewater area, it has been tough finding good falafel or hummus close by. Mediterranean Cuisine may be 5 miles from me, but it’s worth the trip. It is a traditional middle Eastern cafe, like you would find in Lebanon. Not fancy, but the falafel is made fresh daily, the hummus has an amazing lemon zing, punctuated by a fresh garlic and olive oil flavor. The bread is what I really love most, it’s traditional Syrian/Lebanese style, with a fresh, chewy texture. The falafel sandwich I had came with tahini, lettuce/tomato and pickled turnips. I could eat this all week long, fresh falafel beats frozen any day my friends. The lamb kabob platter came with delicious grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes, and a large scoop of basmati rice. The meat was grilled perfectly, with a nice char over tender lamb. The service was excellent, they were friendly and made.you feel at home. I will be coming back regularly.

Magic Carpet Foods Ltd – Menu with Prices – 2001 S 29th St, Philadelphia

Delicious! I’d been wanting to try this place after seeing a consistent line and reading these reviews. I’m new to Penn (grad school) and I’m glad this was my first ever food stand experience here. I am not vegetarian but could literally eat falafel everyday and be happy. I just returned from Israel and a few weeks without it was too long. I went on a day when I was eating later (2pm) and there were 4 people ahead of me. The line moved very fast and I decided to start out with the classic pita with falafel. When he handed me the pita it weighed so much and I thought no way i’m finishing this. Well it was so good I ate every bite. The pita was not too thick and the falafel was warm and oh so flavorful. I was impressed how well it was spiced. The tahini was very good and not overpowering. I can’t wait until my next late lunch break because i’ll be headed right magic carpet for a falafel.

Forty Thieves – Menu with Prices – 1538 Race St, Cincinnati

The food is great. Period. No issues with the food. I went here for the 4th time this past Saturday. I am leaving a 2/5 because of the service and rules that are very obscure and absurd. My friend’s girlfriend ordered some soup and she wanted a side of hummus. At first a guy helped us. He went on some rant about not being able to give people a side of hummus. He stated, “If I allow one person to order a side of hummus, then everyone will want a side of hummus and that’s just not something we do here.” After asking nicely again and stating she would pay for it, he caved and gave her a side of hummus. For yelpers reading this, just keep asking and maybe they will break corporate code as a gesture of goodwill and give you a small side of hummus. In previous visits, I have been able to order a Falafel Pita with the vegetables on the side. Never had an issue with this. Just don’t put the vegetables in the pita, pretty simple. No one quipped or said that wasn’t allowed. I tried the same thing in this visit. The guy who took my friend’s order went away and a woman came to the counter to take my order. After asking for the same thing I have done in the three previous visits, she replied, “Oh well that’s basically ordering a deconstructed sandwich, which we aren’t allowed to do. You will have to get the Falafel over hummus menu item which is $10.” You kidding me? I didn’t want the hummus as I am not a big fan of hummus in general. Instead of arguing, I just took it. Again good food, really stupid policies.

Falafel Corner – Menu with Prices – 1004 J St, Sacramento

I decided to check out this new place today that used to be Dad’s on J. My first impression was that the inside had gotten a huge makeover which was great and they got rid of some of the tables that used to line the right side of the restaurant which was nice – it made it more roomy, but also means there’s less seats now then before. The kitchen staff worked fast, but felt like they were on top of themselves a few times. They just haven’t found their groove yet which I think can be expected from a place that is only 2 weeks old. One of the guys calling out the order numbers was very attentive and asked what number I was because he had seen me waiting for my food still so that was nice. I ordered the chicken platter which came with chicken, rice, salad, hummus, tzatziki, hummus and pita for $11.99. The chicken and rice were very flavorful, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the hummus or tzatziki. I’ve just had better else where. Pita was nice and warm which I liked and their portions are very generous though so it was worth the price. They serve baklava and Turkish delights and your basic sodas in a can. They also have happy hour from 2-5pm where you can get 10% off of your $10 or more order. My only other issue is that we do already have similar food options on the surrounding streets such as Vela’s and Darna so it would have been nice to have something different in place of Dad’s, but I will definitely come back and try one of their burgers!

Main Street Deli – Menu with Prices – 520 Main St A, Garland

Let me start with the wonderful owners and how I ended up in this fine establishment, I was sitting out in the cold waiting for the parade to begin and I suddenly needed to use the restroom. Most places require you to buy something or they’ll say they don’t allow outsiders to use their restroom. I took a chance and walked inside. I was pleasantly greeted. I asked if I could use to Restroom and he said yes without hesitation (Side Note: the restroom and restaurant were very clean!). I was so appreciative and impressed that I told him I would come back with my mom after the parade to get a “sandwich”. I came back and looked at the menu and I saw “Greek Specialties”. Now I’m even more thrilled about finding this place. All I can say is Delicious!! Delicious! Delicious!! I ordered the Mediterranean platter. For ONLY 9.99 you get a mini GYRO pita, Falafel, Greek Salad with Hummus and Pita. The Falafel was extremely flavorful and the Hummus was out of this world. I would highly recommend this location. It’s the most authentic Mediterranean food I’ve had yet and I LOVE Mediterranean!! I will be back. They have a daily deal where you can get soup, salad a drink for only $6.49. If your looking for Home delicious tasty food stop by and let me know in the comments about your experience.

Istanbul Grill Menu with Prices 4617 Wilson Blvd, Arlington

Update: We are now regulars, and the food is still delicious. But they have been in business a while now and we have 2 complaints that warrant deleting a star: 1. Lackluster, store bought pita bread. Surely they can find a better supplier or make their own. 2. Service is still hit or miss, and prices have gone up. I’m OK with higher prices If service is good. Food and drinks take a long time from order to table. Maybe they need help in the kitchen? We decided to try this place for lunch today. What a gem! We started with baba ganoush and falafel appetizers. The baba ganoush was excellent – creamy, smoky with a drizzle of spicy oil. Falafel and hummus also on point. The falafel cakes were light and crispy, not too dense as is often the case. My husband had a chicken wrap with fries. The chicken was delicious and the wrap had an interesting mix of veggies and spices. The fries were OK. But who comes to a Turkish restaurant for fries? I got the doner kabob and it was outstanding. Some of the best I’ve had. Flavorful, juicy and crispy at the same time. We can’t wait to go back for dinner.

Pita Grill & Market – Menu with Prices – 13854 SW 88th St, Miami

I’ll cut to the chase here, I’m giving Pita Grill 3 stars for a few reasons, but the biggest being customer service, or should I say lack of. When we walked in, no one said a word to us. They saw us, and said NOTHING. Being that it was our first time here, we didn’t know how it worked. I asked if we order here or sit down, he told us to sit. (No hello, how are you, welcome, nothing!) We sit down and are handed menus. Ten minutes go by, no one greets us, yet several workers passed us by. Finally, the gentleman that sat us asked if someone has been over, which we reply no. Side note, there were only 2 tables in the restaurant, so not busy at all! He sends over a server and she only speaks Spanish, which neither I or my girlfriend speak. Okay, not a problem, she’ll understand me. I order a small hummus appetizer, and 2, TWO, falafel wraps. The hummus came out with pita bread. In my opinion the hummus was good and the bread was alright, nothing spectacular. However, my girlfriend was pissed claiming, “who serves paper with hummus.” (She said it was important that I mention that as she is a pita bread connoisseur lol) she felt that the pita bread was extremely thin and tasted like cardboard. Almost ready to get up and leave due to the completely aloof staff and mediocre food, the falafel wrap comes out. A falafel wrap, one falafel wrap. Even if you don’t speak English very well, I’m certain that saying two and holding up two fingers is universal! Oh well, it was better that way since my girlfriend hated the pita. We cut the wrap in half and split it. I will say that their falafel was delicious, but I would not drive 12 miles again for this. Our server literally never came back to the table to check if everything was alright, if we needed drinks, etc. after waiting and waiting, I finally get up to ask for a box for the leftover hummus and the check. She gives me the box, no check. I realize I have to go to the front to pay. As I’m paying, which again awful customer service, I notice baklava and decide to order two pieces Togo. They are really small pieces and I’m not sure how much it costs. My total was $17 including tip, so couldn’t be too expensive. I will say the baklava was the best part of this experience. Overall, I was completely disappointed with the service and as I said the food is okay, nothing that I would crave and have to come back for! I didn’t even really take pictures because I was pretty frustrated. Sadly, not an enjoyable visit, and definitely not a good first impression.

Jerusalem Bakery & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1175 Franklin Gateway SE, Marietta

I just met a friend for lunch at Jerusalem Bakery for her first time, and she was so excited! She had spent a summer in Jerusalem and said that the falafel and hummus here were just as good as what she ate in Israel! I will go by myself and get their lunch special for $9.99: a sandwich, side, and drink. I either get the chicken swarma or the falafel sandwich, and I always get the hummus as a side. Their pitas for the hummus are so good, and the hummus is the best in town. We have ordered their hummus for parties at our house, and it is always the first to go. Their swarma is so delicious and filled with crusty flavorful meat. They have a homemade hot sauce that adds so much flavor. Who needs a jarred hot sauce?! This is authentic homemade food, and the menu offers so many options for me whether I’m in a meat or in a vegetable mood. After you have lunch, wander through the attached market and get some dessert and some other treats to take home. They sell their pitas as well along with lots of other bakery treats, meats, and other groceries.
