I cannot believe that I have not posted a review for this wonderful place! I have come here several times, and I am always wowed by what I encounter. The baked goods are some of the best and most creative that I have ever had. Today I had The apple tart, which is my most favorite thing on the menu. It has a flaky crust, and a firm buttery center full of sliced apples with a very subtle lemon undertone. The texture is soft on the inside and buttery and crispy on the outside. I always buy one when I visit whether I am hungry or not! They also have a series of boozy cookies: my favorite is the Cabernet chocolate that is dusted with sea salt. Divinely sophisticated. I am not a coffee drinker but I do like the hot cocoa with a shot of espresso. They have several varieties of tea, which is better than other coffee places with usually limit their choices to around 4. Please come in and support this local business. You will thank me later.

Cookie Cart – Menu with Prices – 946 Payne Ave, St Paul

Not only is Cookie Cart a great non-profit giving young people experience in the workforce. Their cookies are amazing! Got the chocolate chip (soo good), double chocolate, m&m, and Chicago style. All were buttery and had a wonderful soft texture when you bite into it. Some of the best cookies I have had. I got some decorated cookies, didn’t try it, but those who did loved it as well. I will definitely be back! The woman working there was so friendly, even took the time to tell me about the business when I asked.

Donna’s Gourmet Cookies – Menu with Prices – 10796 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati

You know how you sometimes have a great, 5-star experience with a business but then you (unfortunately) have to come back and downgrade your previous rave review due to a disappointing experience[s]? And how it’s the principle of the matter, you just can’t have your now-inaccurate perfect score undermining your integrity (or credibility) to other consumers? None of the above is why I’m refreshing my 5-star review for Donna’s. I LOVE DONNA’S GOURMET COOKIES, so far they are my favorite cookies that I have had in my life and one of my favorite desserts/cheat treats. Nothing makes me act like a giddy sugar-cracked-out preschooler like a box of Donna’s huge, soft, buttery “cats-head” cookies, loaded with chocolate chips or crackled with sugary-cinnamon snickerdoodle goodness. I love many kinds of cookies, they are truly my favorite dessert (with cinnamon rolls and brownies-without-nuts coming in CLOSE 2nd place). Homemade cookies, Great American cookie cake, Busken tea cookies, Panera Cookies, Chick-Fil-A Cookies, the marshmallow cornflake cookie from Maplewood (!) – I love them! But Donna’s has my heart. My new favorites are Donna’s fancy decorated sugar cutout cookies with royal icing. These specialty cookies are SO beautiful, exquisitely detailed, THEY ACTUALLY TASTE DELICIOUS (you know what I mean, beautifully decorated pastry usually tastes awful!). And, they are affordable! I have ordered these cookies for Christmas, NYE and now Mardi Gras (and omg the Valentine’s Day Cookies that I saw today were soooo cute!). I cannot wait to have a reason to order some specialty cookies for one of my kid’s athletic events.

The Place To Be – Menu with Prices – 2510B Main St, Santa Monica

Oui oui Monsieur! The Place to Be is like a little slice of Paris here in Santa Monica. It’s a quaint little coffee shop on Main Street near Venice. This place has veeeery strong coffee and absolutely amaaazing pastries!! Since I just had a negative experience with a gluten free bakery in RB, I had my concerns when I saw the gluten and vegan sign out front. Don’t let that sign scare you though. I didn’t! They have plenty of options available. I ordered a mocha, the Nutella croissant and madeleines. I thought OMG this is what madeleines should really taste like. I usually buy my Madeleine’s at Starbucks. You know the cookies that come in the pack of 3? Well, I won’t be doing that anymore because these little madeliene cookie cakes put the Starbucks cookies to shame. I actually regretted only buying two of them. Anywho, when I finally got around to eating my croissant I thought about a conversation that I had with a friend a couple of days before. He was eating a croissant left over from a work meeting and he was complaining about it not being flaky and buttery. I immediately agreed that the best croissants should always be flaky & buttery. A Place to Be”s croissants don’t disappoint in either one of those categories. The croissant was very fresh and it had the perfect amount of nutella. It wasn’t too sweet. It was just perfect. Kudos to the owners of A Place to Be. This Coffee Spot is the best and the French woman working the counter had excellent customer service skills. She had me try a sample of the white chocolate syrup that’s placed in the mocha. She made me a believer. That stuff was so good. It wasn’t seriously sweet like American white chocolate. I will definitely be back to pick up more Madeleines, a baguette, an Almond croissant and the chocolate croissant. I can’t wait!

Candy Shack Daiquiris: Arlington Menu with Prices 6401 S Cooper St #101, Arlington

Best believe you me that you?re going to get what you pay for. I?m not a HUGE drinker, alcoholic, or an every other day drinker. Light weight, I am!! I ordered two 16 oz drinks which totaled to $17 and some change. I got the Cookies & Cream(candy on the side) & the Hurricane flavor. They package the drinks in clear sealed bags…bc you?re not supposed to ?drink and drive?. I did wait until I got home to taste my Cookies and cream and it was HELLA strong. All I taste was liquor and random cookies. I wasn?t going to force myself to drink it. So that was a waste for me ???. I haven?t tried the hurricane yet but I?m sure it?ll be just as strong so I?m going to for sure baby suit that one bc I?ve already wasted one. I?m giving this place 4 stars for the accuracy of my order, the time it took to get my drinks, and the customer service that I received.

The Sugar Cookie – Menu with Prices – 10960 S Eastern Ave ste 109, Henderson

Amazing place for sugar cookies. The quality of the cookies are simply superb and the variety too.I really love all the chocolate cookies , specially the double chocolate. The coconut , lemon and original cookie are also fantastic.Maybe the one I don’t care the most is the red velvet cake. They have samples of all their cookies so making choices would be easy.Service is top notch and location has plenty of space and parking around.Totally recommended if you have a sweet tooth and you’re looking for quality cookies.

Ampersand Ice cream – Menu with Prices – 1940 N Echo Ave, Fresno

Awesome first experience!! All of the servers were very nice and knowledgeable. So, there were 5 of us here to try ice cream. Here are the reviews: 2 chocolate chip cookies: they were really tasty. Not Granny’s homemade, but they’re a close 2nd or 3rd, easily. The Center was soft, edges a little crisp and sprinkled with sea salt. Yum! 2 mini scoops of Raspberry Sorbet for the kids (aged 5 and 6): they loved it and asked for another scoop. 3 scoops of Bordeaux for the teen (13y/o): “It was good, I liked it. I really liked it.” 2 “flights to-go” aka 4 scoops in a large cup. Flavors are as followed: Apricot, Cherry & Goat Cheese: AMAZING!!! Not pungent at all. The flavors married into a deliciously smooth and creamy surprise. I loved it!! Bordeaux: Very nice flavor. Much like See’s Candies Bordeaux candy…chocolate with a hint of espresso. Honeycomb: Delicious and buttery. A bit on the sweet side, but not too sweet, with crunchy pieces of honeycomb throughout. Whiskey Salted Caramel: This is tied for my favorite alongside the Apricot, Cherry & Goat Cheese. Salted Caramel is an all-time favorite, but the hint of whiskey flavor takes it up a notch. Overall, very pleased with this experience and I will be returning on my next visit to the Valley.

The DW Cookie Company – Menu with Prices – 18962 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita

How do you make the best cookies? Drive down Soledad to DW Cookie Co! I have heard about this place for years and haven’t made it there, until today. I am so glad I did. I was greeted with a warm welcome by DW and the store is very welcoming to customers as well. There are a couple of table and chairs to sit and enjoy his delicious creations on site. I didn’t stay and eat there but will probably on another visit. I picked up two homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches for my boys. You can pick the cookie and ice cream flavor of your choice. I took the basics, chocolate chip and vanilla ice cream. There was nothing basic about the taste. My boys devoured them in minutes and asked if there were any more! I also got a half dozen assorted cookies cookies, two of the Liz cookies (choc chip and toffee), two of the white choc and cranberry cookies, two of the toffee, pecan, and another ingredient (I forgot) cookies and DW threw in an extra chocolate chip. Got to my car and couldn’t wait to get home to try one. Ate the toffee cookie in the car. Buttery, crisp, chewy and soft at the same time. So delicious it melted in my mouth. Sweet but not too sweet and just perfect. Can’t wait to try all the other flavors, but I guess I should share. Looking forward to going back. Great cookies and excellent/ amazing service and atmosphere. Thank you DW for giving us such a great spot to treat ourselves!!

Harvest & Grounds – Menu with Prices – McNamara Terminal, near Gate C15, Worldgateway Pl, Detroit

So happy to find a spot in the airport serving Mighty Good coffee and Avalon pastries!! For an airport cafe, Harvest & Grounds is really fantastic. Prices are not too bad for an airport, about $1 more than the original locations, and compared with the Zingerman’s baked goods at Plum Market in Terminal A I think they’re extremely reasonable – cold brew is $4, scones are $4.25, cookies are $2.50, and the brioche is slightly over $5. Of the baked goods I think the scones are the best option; I like the chocolate cherry the most, followed by the cinnamon, but the lemon blueberry is also quite good (the lemon flavor isn’t that strong). They’re really buttery and not dry or tough at all. The cookies are ok but not as good as the scones; they’re the thin crispier kind and I found them too sweet. I don’t think the sweet brioche is very good. The coffee is the best in the airport in my opinion. The cold brew tastes good and is not too strong (which is nice before a flight). I liked the Black and Tan (cold brew and chocolate milk, $4.50) – not too sweet! There are also cold sandwiches in the $10-ish range, but I haven’t tried any. Service has been extremely friendly both times I’ve been here, and the location at the entrance of Terminal C is super convenient, so I’ll be stopping by whenever I’m at this airport.

Coffee Guy Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6700 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola

The Coffee Guy Cafe is AMAZING!!! Large, open atmosphere with AWESOME baristas and customer service!!! As a tea drinker, for years I was limited to Starbucks for my varied tea drinks. No longer! The Coffee Guy is closer to my business, and I can just walk over for goodies! The CHAI tea latte, LONDON FOG latte (with Earl Grey or Jasmine Green), and the MATCHA GREEN tea latte, all with soymilk, of course, are my faves!!! The oatmeal, soups (especially the chicken and wild rice), and chicken salad (better than Fresh Market’s) are delish!! I want to try the mini Belgian waffles!!! They look and smell AMAZING!! The chocolate, espresso cake is a super charged, appeased chocolate-craving, delight!!! Even though I’m not a coffee drinker, I LOVE coffee foods, and that cake does not disappoint!!! Gennessi is super sweet, amazing, and always remembers my preferences!!! Blake is the same and so full of personality, and super, super sweet! Everyone here is AWESOME, but bad for me, that I don’t remember their names! Luckily, she is here, while I’m writing this review!! Otherwise, others would be mentioned by name! I ALWAYS look forward to seeing the friendly baristas!!!

Cakes Extraordinaire – Menu with Prices – 1054 Brighton Ave, Portland

Stopped by Cakes Extraordinar while my wife and daughter were shopping at Lowe’s. I actually wasn’t planning on buying anything, however I was quickly convinced once I entered the bakery and smelled the aroma of cakes, cookies and of course my favorite creamy frosting. The owner was very friendly and talked about a customer I knew who religiously shopped here for celebration cakes she gets for many of her family’s birthdays. I decided to purchase a vanilla cupcake topped with vanilla frosting and two chocolate chip cookies. The cupcake was moist and I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the delicious vanilla cream inside. I bought the chocolate chip cookies for my wife and daughter. They found the cookies loaded with chocolate chips with a hint of coconut. This bakery has been around for close to 35 years and I do remember it being located across the street. Now, that I have discovered it again, I will definitely be stopping by again soon!

Good Food Gluten Free Bakery – Menu with Prices – 423, A-113, W 800 S, Salt Lake City

Hubby and I stopped in on Friday and picked up brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and pumpkin muffins bites. The chocolate chip cookies are THE BEST gluten free chocolate chip cookies I’ve found, and that includes both in private bakeries and at the grocery store. The brownies were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, and I can’t wait to order more and have them delivered since we live out of town. The only item I wasn’t that fond of was the pumpkin bites. I love pumpkin & chocolate chip items, but this one had a little too much spice in it, which made them a bit bitter. They were also slightly dry so I may have gotten an older batch.
