Went here with a group of sushi lovers who said this was their favorite sushi restaurant. I quickly saw why when I saw the extensive menu of sushi selections. We had everything from plum wine and saki to appetizers of edamame and dumplings then sushi (I had spicy chicken teriyaki since I am not a sushi fan). Also had great green tea ice cream for desert. Prices are a bit high. The quality of food and service is excellent. The restaurant was full and customers were flocking in for “to go” orders which displays that this is very popular destination for sushi.

Masa Express – Menu with Prices – 2217 E South Blvd, Montgomery

I’m so glad I heard about Masa Express. At first, I didn’t know what to expect of this new restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They are the only sushi restaurant in Montgomery to offer a drive thru! There’s not only just sushi on the menu. They have a full assortment of popular Chinese and Japanese menu items. I had the chance to try the Montgomery roll and loved it. All sushi rolls right now are deep fried. All menu items are typically under $10, which makes it really affordable. From what I hear around town, they do a great job handling to-go orders and super quick. I look forward to enjoying them again!

Sushi District – Menu with Prices – 488 E 17th St B105, Costa Mesa

Had really high expectations for Sushi District upon reading the reviews. But was very disappointed by the sushi. I have been on the a sushi craze lately, trying out sushi from various restaurants in the area and the sushi here is probably the worst of the bunch. There’s a lot of great things about this place but the sushi didn’t impress. It’s a no for me dog ? Okay lemme start by saying what this place is doing right. The rolls and appetizers were excellent! I feel if I came here for those I would give this place a full mark. But there’s sushi in the name of this restaurant and their sushi was really whack man…or woman… or nonbinary… PERSON OKAY! The rolls were excellent and the portion was a lot! So that’s good. The appetizer I had was the fried oysters, which was delicious. The only thing is the fish here isn’t on par to what I normally eat. So rolls that has raw fish in it or on it, wasn’t that great. Now… Onto the sushi. This place has the poorest quality sushi I have ever ate in my life. I can go to some cheap sushi spot for $2 sushi that will obliterate these sushi to smithereens. The quality was poor, the knife skill is also poor. I have some pictures of the sushi and you CAN NOT lie to me and say that these sushi are one of the most beautiful sushi you have ever laid eyes on. I didn’t even wanna snap these ? The knife skill of whoever made my sushi that night was very sad. Cuts everywhere in order to cut sinews from the thick and clumsy cut of tuna. Salmon quality looks sickening. Like the salmon had the some AIDS or something. Why it look like that tho??? Amaebi! My favorite! Why was it flipped upside down? Trynna look like Shamu waving at the crowds or something. The staff here are nice. Our server noticed that my friend was having trouble chewing the tuna. I woulda just ignored it, but they remade another batch for us. It was still poor quality but it’s the thought that counts??? Their water is good tho… When I have to say their water is good it means I’m trying to kinda hide the fact that the review was savage. I don’t want to give bad reviews, but it’s important for business to learn what’s up… If I had sushi only then this place would have got 0 star review. But, the staff, rolls and appetizers gave them 2 stars. From my experience, this place is a hard recommendation for me. Maybe if you weren’t into sushi then this place offers a selective menu with great food and lemon water. Premium sushi price for very very pitiful sushi quality.

Wasabi Sushi & Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 4008 Battleground Ave, Greensboro

Wasabi is open and we couldn’t be happier! We’ve managed a trip every few weeks since they’ve opened. I’m a bit of a sushi snob from spending 11 years on the west coast and was not prepared for the amount of cream cheese that is included in sushi in the south. Wasabi has standard favorites like tuna crackers (spicy tuna on lightly fried crackers), hamachi salad and an excellent Malibu roll. I also had the avocado bomb this week- so, so good! The sashimi is fresh and high quality. Our kids like the chicken tenders and California rolls. All in all the food is wonderful and we’re so grateful to have good sushi in the hood. The prices are standard for sushi, but make sure to get the stamp card and save a bit every few visits.

Fujisan Sushi Menu with Prices 1216 Harris Ave, Bellingham

Wonderful new little sushi restaurant. Iâ??ve been there two times since my first try. Very very clean, quick service and excellent fresh food.. . Iâ??ve had the wonderful octopus, tempura shrimp appetizers, small house salad, the 5 piece sashimi (bigger pieces than others), sushi, miso soup, and the teriyaki eel and rice bowl. I can attest that ALL were the best, just excellent. Best of all, good quality at a lower fair price!. . This is my sushi place now instead of Blue Fin Sushi, I find the value is much better and quality is just as good while they have some different things than Blus Fin.. . I highly recommend, you wonâ??t be disappointed.

Daylight Donuts – Menu with Prices – 1530 Mercer University Dr suite 500, Macon

Daylight Donuts has only been open for a few days in Macon, but has been operating across the country since the 1950s – they even have a shop in Hawaii! I pass this location multiple times a day and have been wondering when they would finally let me have a taste of their sweet treats. This past weekend they lured in customers for the grand opening by giving away free donuts. I was happy to see students and locals flocking to the store. Interior has some seats for customers, but not many. As of now it’s a straight forward operation with no frills and thrills. There are other sweets you can purchase such as ice cream. I opted for a strawberry sprinkle donut and a Bavarian creme. Both were delicious and much better than most other franchise donuts in town. The prices were not listed since it was a promotional weekend, but the nice employees said they would be selling at $0.89 per donut. That’s a fantastic deal in my opinion and I’m really looking forward to visiting their operation once it is in full swing. Bonus: drive-thru for convenience!

Akita Sushi – Menu with Prices – 8075 SW State Rd 200 #117, Ocala

We went to a regular place which it’s Grace Sushi only to find that it changed ownership and renamed Akita sushi. The sushi was excellent but a little more pricey than before and the hibachi quality I must say was not as good as Grace sushi. we felt the menu was in complete and missing very pertinent items which we discussed with a server and was relayed to the owner. It’s hard when you get used to something and expect to get your usual only to walk in and find everything changed. The server Megan what’s excellent and attentive ain’t much very concerned that we enjoyed our meal. We just feel that there are certain items from the menu that are missing that should be there as 90% of the other restaurant comparative to this has them. We will definitely go back and hopefully add the 5th star. It truly is a good restaurant with good quality food we were just taking a little off guard. Please try it for yourself low and form your own opinion because they are very willing to please!!!

Tokyo Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1000 Hylan Dr, Rochester

My family and I have been going to Tokyo Japanese Restaurant for over 30 years. I have been to many sushi restaurants in town, but when asked for the best sushi in Rochester, there is no other restaurant that I recommend. Chef Yong, his son Tony and his family have been working here for over 30 years as well. They pride themselves in importing the highest quality grade sushi for the best, most consistent dining experience. Not only do they provide Japanese cuisine, but they also offer popular Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Unfortunately their old restaurant was bought out by Delta Sonic so they had to move to a smaller location, but I know they are looking to expand to bring back their popular hibachi tables. While they do not have hibachi tables on site, they do make the best, largest portion of hibachi in town. Tokyo is BY FAR the best Japanese restaurant in Rochester and I cannot wait until they expand into a bigger location.

Sing Sing Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2476 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth

I was hoping I could find a sushi spot with decent sushi who open later afternoon. I decide to try this place, but something didn’t really work out much. Sushi: 2 stars: it was a typical lunch time, t they didn’t have a lunch menu. I ordered a sushi roll and nigiri combo. It was $14 with 2 regular rolls and 6 pieces of nigiri, and miso soup and salad. But their nigiri was 2 pierces or salmon, 1 pieces of squid, 1 piece so shrimp and 2 pieces of some white fishmonger as posed to most of sushi places offer, tuna, yellow tail, salmon and so on. They just slammed whatever the cheapest, probably. Rolls were Ok. Nigiris were over squished typically seen in non-authentic sushi restaurant. Ambience: 2 stars: it’s a small family owned mom & pop style restaurant. Most of time, I usually like small places, but I felt a bit uninviting. Service: 2stars: They didn’t even take our drink order. BTW, we were the only customers at the time. When I ate my sushi half way through, a lady came back to our table. So I asked her if they had green tea. She said “Um, the iced one in a can is $2. …Hot one is free.”, as if she really didn’t want to tell me about the free one. She gave me an extra complimentary miso soup though. At the end of my dining experience, they started putting their employee lunch on one of those tables. I personally don’t like restaurants that their employees eat their meals as the same dining room as customers eat in. Prices: 1 Star: I think it’s way overpriced for what they serve both amount and quality of food. They have this marketing gimmick like other Yelpers mentioned, all the rolls are 50% off all day. Then why don’t they list the real prices, a half of what’s listed on their menu in the first place? I hate the feeling that they obviously they try to trick you or confuse you in a way they are actually insulting your intelligence. Who would think they actually got a good deal on sushi rolls? Do we have to calculate how much the sushi should be in our head every time we order something?? I don’t see any honesty in their business, Summery: I spent $17 including the tips, but if I had to pay $17, I could have gotten way way way better sushi lunch at elsewhere like Sushi Yoko, Sushi Avenue, and Waraku. Unfortunately, I can’t deny the feeling I wasted the money here.

Mizu Sushi & Hibachi Express – Menu with Prices – 1859 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Bradenton

We had dinner there on 6/8. My wife ordered the filet mignon hibachi and it was excellent! I on the other hand am a avid sushi lover so I ordered the sushi. They did not have any uni, quail egg or toro. I was told that it was too expensive for the customers in that area so I was very limited to what I could order. So, I just ordered the usual tuna, yellowtail, salmon, eel and scallops. They were just average. As excellent as the hibachi steak was, we will not be returning due to the limited sushi menu. If you don’t mind limitations, you should check out this restaurant.

Sushi 2 You – Menu with Prices – 2640 52 St NE, Calgary

This is a hidden gem for all Sushi lovers. A gourmet restaurant quality sushi for a fraction of the price you pay at high end restaurants. Cheaper and way tastier then Edo Japan. I come here for lunch all the time as a student an on a budget. I highly recommend asking for the mango roll or house special roll and you will be surprise for the price you pay, it tastes like restaurant sushi.

Shu Sushi Ramen & Grill – Menu with Prices – 4929 W Chandler Blvd #3, Chandler

The owner of this restaurant used to own Sushi Ken in Ahwatukee after she bought it from the original owners. It was great back then. After selling Sushi Ken just over a year ago, she opened this place, Shu Sushi Grill and it’s clear she brought with her the love and passion for her food and her customers. Her husband is the sushi chef and their adorable little girls can regularly be found in the restaurant hanging with mom and dad. The sushi is incredibly fresh, the owner is part of a special group that has access to the best fish as soon as it’s available and it shows, so fresh and delicious. I love that she mixes some Korean options and specialties along with the Japanese cuisine options – it’s almost fusion-ish and a great mix up from solely traditional Japanese options. She maintains some five dollar sushi roll specials every day and they are great. The menu is robust and offers options for everyone. The Ramen soup is phenomenal, the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed and clean. The service was excellent! I definitely recommend trying this restaurant, it could well become one of your regular favorites.

Two Bills Seafood – Menu with Prices – 4501 SW 44th Ave, Fort Lauderdale

I was just visiting town. Off the beaten path. Looked like a bait shop. Lol. Not what I expected. It didn’t look like a seafoood market from outside. But it was on the canal. Iguanas all over the place outside. Freaked me out. I hear and now see that’s a problem in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami now. I ventured in anyway. Small store. Prices were a bit higher than I expected on popular items like shrimp, snow crab legs. However, they had a good selection of high quality, fresh seafood. Snow crab legs were expensive, $16.99 /lb. I almost choked. But they were large and restaurant quality. So maybe why more expensive. I bought large shrimp. Price was more reasonable. They were definitely excellent quality and fresh. They had frozen and fresh fish which looked very good as well. They were out of blue crabs this day. Which is what I came for. Worth a stop. Just be prepared to pay more for quality.
