First time here was Friday 10/25/2019. Upon arrival I was greeted by I believe the manager. I told her what I came in for (acrylics with gel polish) and she advised I get dip gel. I said I really wanted acrylics and she insisted I get the dip gel, I felt a bit pressured I said okay as I walked to the nail tech May ( I should have walked away but I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt as the yelp reviews raved about this place). May begins to match nail tips to fit my nails and I asked her what the price difference was for acrylics vs dip gel. She said seemed confused and said “oh dip is a little bit more” so I asked well how much more. She then began to speak Vietnamese I believe and called the manager over. She asked me what was my question and I asked her what the price was for acrylics vs dip gel, she said it was $40, the same as acrylics and that dip was healthier for my nails. I didn’t feel right about the pricing but I felt uncomfortable to ask any more pricing questions… I was then trying explain the color I wanted which was a grey with chrome finish, May didn’t seem to know what I was taking about so again she called the manager who showed me how the finish would look with two different chrome powders and she said the color o want needs to be with black polish but she said the grey color I picked would just look lighter. I was okay with that as long as I got chrome, so she advised I get the chrome on the index fingers for $10 more and of I want to commit to all nails it would be $5 more, so I said ok. May begins to do that drilling stuff on my nails, she cut me a few times and stopped the bleeding with some airy powder. Color times comes and the nails that were supposed to be chrome were shimmy silver. She didn’t not smudge she packed the two nails with glitter. When she was done she asked if I liked it I said it’s ok but it’s not chrome. She seemed confused. By the time I was done it was late and I just paid. Paid for a service I was not happy with but tried to convince myself I was. I tipped May because I just always do and I feel like she needed more training or something I just felt bad. But I was so unhappy I came the next day on Saturday to get the two nails just solid grey like my other nails. The manger fixed them, or so I thought. She buffed them a bit and left the silver shimmer under and painted over them with the grey gel color. I was a bit confused but I figured she knows what she’s doing. Then come Sunday and the right nail that she “fixed” started to bubble up and peel off and you can see the shimmer silver layer. I was so sad because I paid $40 for the darn dip gel and $10 for the “chrome” that wasn’t even chrome plus the tip (which was all on me). I went today 10/28/2019 to to fix my nails yet again and Tammy fixed the nails I hope. I asked her to please remove all the shimmer and bottom grey gel color and she did but May was there and she was going back and fourth with speaking Vietnamese with Tammy and an older lady who was working there tonight. I felt uncomfortable with the environment. I came back to get my nails fixed because I paid a lot of money and I thought I deserved the issue fixed. In addition I also found out that a full set of acrylics costs $20 +$10 for gel polish. I will never come here again due to my experience. I just think the staff needs better training. I know it’s a business but quality work goes a long way versus quantity. Please view my pictures just go in there knowing what you want and be confident, or else you will end up unsatisfied like I did.

Van’s Nails – Menu with Prices – 1347 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu

So good! Van is literally an artist! I did my nails yesterday because Im going out tomorrow night with my girls and I haven’t got my nails done in a while. By while I mean 3 weeks. And for me, that’s a long time because my nails usually grow a lot faster and the acrylics look no good, but not with Vans! I found van through yelp and it says appointment only so I decided to DM her. She said she’s available the next day and mind you it was the week of Fourth of July. She accommodated me at 5 pm… although I had to wait a bit because the girl ahead of me decided to change the acrylic color last minute and she’s a long time client of van. There was nothing I can do so I got seen at 5:15 pm… 15 min wait but literally the wait was worth it. I showed her a picture, and I believe it was one of her work that she posted on IG. It was a simple nail, nude pink with the ring finger gold flakes accent. Came out amazing. Then I told her I really want to get my toes done because I haven’t gone in a long time too and she said if the girl cancels on me after you, I can do your toes. I said yes, that sounds good. Ante conversing with her and getting to know her better, I realized how good a person she is. I really watched her closely because im super picky when it comes to my nails. The way she applied and shaped everything, you can tell she’s a pro. My nails came out to well, I’m definitely going to keep coming back to her. I waited 3 weeks although I can wait 4, I was just tired of seeing the same nail and wanted something new. This design looked like a pink marble / rose quarts design and she killed it. She didn’t even have the watch a video!!! She created it herself and that’s when i realized she’s a true artist. A fill is $50 she said for any length and they are colored acrylics. I got a design on every nail and although that’s $20 per nail, she just changed me a total of $20 so my grand came out to $70. Pretty expensive but totally worth it in my opinion.

The Nail Bar – Menu with Prices – 11060 A Lee Hwy, Fairfax

Honestly, terrible experience…the only reason I am giving it two stars is because my sister in law’s experience went well and her nail tech was nice and funny. However, I was very disappointed with my experience. I wanted to get acrylic done and the moment I regretted it within 5 minutes of sitting down. The guy who did my nails did not listen to anything I asked. I desperately needed my cuticles worked on and my nails filed down. He said okay and tried to glue on tips after roughing up my nail plate with the carbide bit. He pulled the tips out and I literally stopped him and said I need my cuticles and nails trimmed AGAIN. So what does he do? He pushed back my cuticles with his frikken thumbnails. I literally almost lost it because not only did it hurt like crazy.. it is super unsanitary and even when I said “it hurts.. OW OW..it really hurts” he simply said that the cuticle is thick.. NO… (I’m a nail tech in training and I know better). Thankfully that part was over and so hoping it gets better right? LOL no… he gets nippers to clip my cuticles and Lord knows where that has been. Was not even in the sanitary bag. Sprays alcohol on it and proceeds to clip my cuticles and sprays alcohol and puts it back…… I’m honestly cringing writing…so unsanitary! Let’s get to the acrylic..tips, acrylic placement and shaping was fine but in the midst of him doing my nails, some other nail tech who apparently trained him started watching, pulled up a chair and everything. They were having a conversation and she kept asking me questions like “he’s good right?” So I wanted to be polite but when my acrylic was drying, I noticed how much was attached to my natural skin…like come on..I frikken had it at this point. He comes back and keep in mind during the whole damn process, he kept saying how people don’t do acrylic anymore and it’s all about SNS now. Okay, great, that’s not what I want… oh and a lecture about how bad acrylic is for my nails… I’m so annoyed at this point and want to just leave but needed polish. So I get reg nail polish and not gel and he went at it again complaining about how everyone else does gel. When I asked him to clean up the polish that was all around my skin, he cleans it but had the audacity to say “you can fix what I dont do right at home since you do nails too”. Okay, yes I can but I am coming to another professional for convenience and not a crap job. And to top it alllll off, he charged me $5 more for a coffin shape… unheard of with acrylic… NEVER AGAIN

Luna Nail Lounge – Menu with Prices – 1523 132nd St SE #A, Everett

I am never that customer to complain or say anything especially when it comes to stuff like this since I rarely go to get my nails done, but I have never received such poor and lazy service. So I am not gonna lie when I say I was not very impressed with the services I received from Luna Nail. My mom and I had both heard from many people that this new place was the place to go, so we figured we would try it out when we needed our nails done for my cousins wedding. So we made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure for the both of us. We got there a few minutes early, figuring we would go in and pick out our colors. We waited for about 10+ minutes to be taken back to the seats for our pedicures and then were left there for 25 minutes, and nobody came over to say they would be right with us, or let us know what was going on. We had ordered drinks, and we didn’t get those until well into the end of the pedicure. The lady was very clearly rushing to get me done as well as the gal who was with my mom. My gal cut practically all of my cuticles and hacked at my nails. And then to cover it up painted all the way down over it so it could be less noticeable. Then the gal who was working on my mom cut my moms fingernails down to the stub when my mom had asked to keep them at the lengths they were at. My mom had also asked for her nails to be buffed so they would be shiny as she doesn’t like polish on her nails and the gal buffed for maybe 5 minutes, and then said she was done. So my mom asked her if she could buff them some more so they were actually shiny and she went over each one once and then said she was done again. Her nails looked like crap, and were no were near what it means to have your nails buffed. Now it is only 3 days later and my nails are trash, my fingernail paint has completely chipped off and wasn’t even on for the wedding which was the whole purpose of getting them done. To say the least we were not impressed by the quality or treatment of service, and won’t be returning again.

The Polish Lounge – Menu with Prices – 3605 S Gilbert Rd suite 101, Gilbert

UPDATE I was contacted the day after my appt by the owner & was told if i come back in they will fix my nails free of charge. Went back today & was told if i wanted to take all the dip powder off & do something different i would be charged. Sara did my nails and was so patient with me as i was not clear with her on what i wanted. Once we cleared up the confusion she did my nails exactly how i wanted them. I ended up not being charged in the end. The owner Vivian was very sweet both on the phone and when i went in. I love my nails now! Decided to try this place because of all the cute nails on their instagram. Drove 25 minutes to the salon & was greeted very nicely. Got my pedicure done first by a guy that was obviously new so it took a while & my nails are uneven but that seems like a nonissue compared to my finger nails. The pictures speak for themselves. The first is what i showed her and the second two are what she gave me I will say the receptionist man did come over, take a look at my nails, and ask if i liked them. I said i did, as i wasn’t sure how to say i didn’t think my nails could be salvaged & we’d have to take off all the polish and start over. That was another hour at least that i wasn’t willing to commit to. If this were regular polish I would have removed it as soon as i got home. Gonna take the 62 dollar hit on this one & never return.

Luxury Nails & Spa – Menu with Prices – 3349 Arden Way, Sacramento

They just opened a few months ago and the interior is clean and new. However, they definitely showed signs of a new nail salon. They open at 9:30am and I scheduled an appointment at 9:30am. I actually arrived at 9:21am and they weren’t there yet, no problem, although I thought it was a little strange that no one was already in there setting up for the first appointment. At least my regular nail salon down in SoCal is very punctual. I run an errand and come back at 9:30am and they have me sit at the nail booth. Not that it bothered me too much, but as I sat there waiting for my nails to soak off, staff was still setting up, sweeping the dust and scraps the day before up. Sigh, I mean, the rest of the salon felt shiny and new though? I requested a gel removal and gel manicure. I’m so used to my regular nail place who has all the equipment and things ready when I arrive and get me in and out, while giving me a quality finish. They spent an hour removing my gel nails, and then about 30 mins doing my gel manicure. I appreciated the fact that they were trying to preserve my nail bed but I’ve never had to wait an entire hour to remove my gel nails. The owners are extremely friendly, but I wasn’t completely sold on wanting to come back. My right hand nails upon closer inspection are actually slightly longer than my left hand nails. When they were actually giving me my manicure, it felt like he just rushed through it. They had scheduled another person at 10:45am and she was on her way apparently, so it didn’t feel like they took the time to really give me a quality manicure. My regular nail girl files them down and constantly checks for evenness. And the salon just about sealed it’s fate when two days later, my gel nail chipped!! I was doing admin work, haven’t cooked, didn’t do anything extreme and it already chipped!! So disappointing! TLDR: very reasonable prices but these sac nail salons just don’t compare to the ones in SoCal! felt like they rushed the job since I wasn’t a regular which is a shame if they’re trying to build a customer base. Boo!

Nirvana Beauty Lounge – Menu with Prices – 1700 S Virginia St, Reno

I had a poor experience here three days before my wedding. My whole wedding party and my mom came along for pedicures and some for manicures. I was hoping to get some simple flowers painted on my nails to match my dress. My nail tech was nice about it but told me she didn’t know how. She said some of the other nail techs would know how and she would just have them do it for me. She leaned over to the tech next to her, who was working on one of my bridesmaids. I couldn’t make out exactly what she asked her but the other tech said “No.” My tech said something else and the other tech again said “No. Takes too long.” So I gathered that someone could do it – maybe even her – but they just didn’t want to. I mentioned that I just wanted something special since it was my wedding day. They asked if I wanted a stamp and I said I’d look at them. My tech brought the stencils over and I found one that had flowers and a butterfly that I thought might work. I asked if they could do multiple colors in a stamp (I know that is possible as I have seen it) and they said no. My Maid of Honor asked if they could layer colors then and the nail tech next to me made some excuse about me not having enough space on my nail, which makes no sense to begin with, plus my nails were long, so there was a lot of space. They just didn’t want to do anything but a single color for me, no matter how many times I mentioned that I was hoping for something special for my wedding day. I guess maybe we were supposed to tell them in advance if we wanted nail art, but I feel like they could have done it for me. I was the only one asking for it. That tech next to me was unfriendly the whole time. Mine was nice at least. My mom had the nicest one. It was a man, whose name I forget. They do not use proper practices – they snipped and yanked our cuticles with nippers, which you are NOT supposed to do (my MoH is a licensed Cosmetologist and knows the proper procedures/laws). My tech cut me twice ON MY LEFT RING FINGER, of all fingers, and I bled. It was red and inflamed on my wedding day and it still hurts. They cut my Maid of Honor, too, and the tech literally painted her blood into her nails. I am dead serious. Her yellow nails have red in them from her blood. She also tried to do some kind of ombre thing that my friend didn’t ask for and didn’t come out looking good. They also performed what is technically considered a medical procedure on my MoH’s toenail (not allowed in that setting) and left it very red and painful for her on the wedding day. It was only bothering her a little before that. They found ways to do upcharge services on both me and my MoH that we didn’t realize they were doing. It was really expensive for nothing special at all. It’s a fancy new building and the decor and chairs are nice, but this is just another basic nail place that won’t do anything special, even if it is your wedding day. Do not go here if you want anything more than a single color or if you have any overgrowth at all on your cuticles because they will cut and pull at them.

Yunikon Nail Bar – Menu with Prices – 3813 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Hmm I am torn about this review. But it comes down to the service of the pedicure. Of course I only go to one person for my manicure. But they were busy so I had to go with something else. First things first. 5 stars for service and attitude. 2 stars for quality and skill. I was surprised I was able to get a last minute appointment on a Friday afternoon at 5pm. I arrived and there was only one other customer. In my head I was like whaattttt. Lucky me. Guess everyone’s out of town… little did I know.. it was because of how not skilled the technicians were. I sat down and got the LUX pedicure. It’s $40. Def pricey AF. But you get all the bells and whistles and the place looked super cute so.. I said why not. Everything was amazing until the polish. They do a exfoliating scrub, feet mask, lotion, extra massage, callous removal and other stuff. But when Jennifer started painting my nails… straight up disaster! It was one of those moments were you started like sweating because of how bad the job was. And you don’t know whether to say something or not… but I was trying to remain calm during the whole process to see if she would redeem herself by fixing the polish. First of all she put on the base coat like a volcano was erupting down the street and we had to bone the eff out. Butchered. Painted it all over even on skin. I am super super super picky about nails… and cmon painting perfectly on toes is basic basic basic. And then came the nail polish… geeeebussss it was so bad. Painted all over cuticles. I was freaking out in my head but didn’t say anything yet cause I thought she would clean off everything at the end. But nope. She was like you can do out tonight! And in my head I was like yeah not with these ratchet ice cream paint job feet. It was so bad… polish all in between cuticles. Anyways Jasmine helped me fix it! She fixed it the best she could. It was way better! However she’s young and I feel like she hasn’t gotten much experience yet cause there were still some flaws. But I could live with it. Anyways, I really enjoyed the salon… I enjoyed all the services until the paint process. If you were to try this place cause of an emergency, make sure you get jasmine! I think she’s decent. She also helped me take off my acrylic and did a manicure for me that was done pretty well… I didn’t get a gel manicure with her yet. Yeah so my total there was $91 with tax tip for a pedicure and manicure (and keep in mind no color on nails… just removal of acrylic and cleaning)… prob won’t return. PS: Oh andddddd she took my card cause I said I’d pay first. She left my card flipped up at the cash register and some lady was standing there paying… I mean at least flip it down so my card numbers are just for the world to see… -_-

Four Season – Menu with Prices – 4219 Arden Way, Sacramento

I visited this nail salon for the first time. It was their grand opening special and services were 20% off. I usually get gel done on my regular nails but I’ve been wanting to try the dip powder.. so I decided to try it. The lady the assisted me was a older Asian lady who didn’t speak much to any English which is kinda annoying cuz how is she going to understand anything I tell or ask her. So I didn’t know the process to the dip powder Niall’s. Didn’t know that they used the machine at the end to shape and get rid of the Cuticles.. so I just assumed that she would cut them when we first started.. and id get a manicure done..cause no one told me what the process was.. and I had mentioned a few times this was my first time trying the dip powder. So i asked her to cut them…Instantly she seemed annoyed. Well if she would have just told me it would have be taken care of towards the end I’d be like ok fine. She seems to be rushing through the whole process. And she was using a sharp nail file to file and shape my nails and she sliced my pinky finger open!! Not like a paper cut but like I actually a knife cut type of cut, it was fairly deep. Started bleeding. She put some alcohol and some kinda green liquid on it..and continued filing the nails.. so then all the dust went into my cut! Then towards the end when I was done and waiting for nails to dry….some other worker came and touched a nail to see if it was dry.. she messed it up.. then I washed my hands when they told me to…no soap and one of my nails started to look weird.. like the top coated was dissolving.. so she had to redo the top coat for 2 nails. Finally I’m done! Felt like forever. Went to pay.. and it was $40! Why $40 when the price listed says $35..like what was the $5 extra for? Cutting my cuticles! At this point I was done and ready to go.. didn’t question it… with the discount it was like $32… and I left a $5 tips which I felt like I shouldn’t have left one cuz the lady was not very friendly and rushing to get done but my nails did look nice. Seems like a clean place. Owner was nice.. you would think they would give me more of a discount since my finger had a fairly deep cut thanks to my nails lady! But whatever, my cut hurt/stung for 2 days! They need to have more cautious workers.

Chloe Beauty – Menu with Prices – 1750 S Rainbow Blvd Suite 15, Las Vegas

I was in desperate need of a pedi before my trip to Seattle & recently moved, so I needed to find a place that could squeeze me in. Luckily Chloe beauty was very accommodating with getting me in. The owner is from Korea and she’s super sweet. This nail salon isn’t like the typical one you would find in Vegas. It’s very small & intimate. There’s only one chair & one desk for you to get a mani & pedi. I ended up getting a gel pedicure & she really took her time to make sure it was perfect. I usually go for a plain, flat, white but she suggested to do a pearl-ish chrome overlay which I loved! As she was doing my pedicure I was looking at all the designs that she does from both nails & feet. They’re really intricate & very korean/japanese style which I absolutely love. Some nail places do too much but I think her designs are very subtle but stand out. I’m going to go back to get a gel manicure with designs, so I’ll update my review afterwards. So far this salon is a great place to get your nails done if you want simple, cute, & done properly. They offer other services such as waxing & lashes, which they’re offering as a new business special. Overall, if you want to experience & a more one-on-one nail service, I’d highly recommend this place. I’d highly suggest making an appointment just to ensure you avoid a wait if she’s working on another customer ?

Buttercup by Haru – Menu with Prices – 2701 E Chapman Ave ste 202B, Fullerton

Buttercup by Haru is the new nail shop in Fullerton. While I normally don’t like to be bothered with writing reviews, Haru’s beautiful work and her cozy, aesthetic, welcoming space definitely deserves to be recognized and you guys deserve to hear about it after my years of leeching off of other Yelp reviews. So here I am and here it is- First off, Buttercup by Haru is a one-person establishment. That means the owner, Haru, is the one who will be working with you, anytime you’re there. That means consistency in quality of work and design. She’s also really sweet and genuinely cares about her clients. Communication with her through text from making the appt to actually getting nails done has been a smooth sail. Haru is both very talented and flexible with her designs. I’ve seen her design everything from cactus to KakaoTalk characters. But personally, what I truly appreciate is her ability to anchor down the stones and gems on the nails so they’ll probably grow out before they fall out if you gave it enough time. She also carries myriad of different stones, gems, and crystals to make your desired design come to life. I tend to opt for gel and she uses Presto Gel Polish, which is a Japan brand and easily one of the best gel polish brands out there in terms of color and durability. Her regular polishes are also strictly from designers like YSL, Chanel, and my personal favorite- Tom Ford. Buttercup is a charming little nail shop, in terms of both the experience and space. Haru definitely much attention to her interior from the espresso machine to the candles and it does not go unnoticed. The experience of being in such a personalized space with much privacy and 1:1 attention is definitely something that sets Buttercup apart from others.

Blush Nail LAB – Menu with Prices – 306 S Edinburgh Ave Ste 11, Los Angeles

I have had a fantastic experience with Blush Nail Lab. I went in for a fix of an injury that I have had with one of my nails from boxing. The owner Sue had been sending me long messages before me coming in which I appreciated. I went to a few nail shops prior to coming into Blush and was not able to get someone who could help or even knew what I was talking about. Sue was able to help and also followed- up with me to provide a list of recommendations on steps I should be taking in my healing process. Blush Nail Lab is more expensive than the competition. However, you are paying for quality and knowledge in the cosmetic field. The quality of care and attention to detail was impeccable. Recommendation – 1. Bouquet/Bespoke style manicurist, go if you care health of your nails as that is the motto of the company.

Nails Care Salon & Spa Menu with Prices 120 Alps Rd, Athens

I went here for the first time because my friend usually comes here. My gut said to go to my usual place but they give student discounts so I decided to give it a shot. There were only about 4 people working and a lot of customers waiting. Eventually we were seated and I told the girl which SNS color I wanted and she got very rude with me about the color and said that I had to be more specific. She brought over the colors again so I could point it out. She begins taking off the old color and I look down as she?s about to start the dip and there?s still A LOT of residue from the old color left on. I hold my tongue and let her finish. She begins filing my nails and i notice that they?re extremely uneven, again I told my tongue because I know that she?ll go back over again towards the end. As she?s filing my nails, she?s going very fast and hard one my ring finger and I starts to hurt and I look down and she?s filing on my actual skin. I pulled away and she just pulled my hand harder towards her. She was very aggressive with my hands the entire time as well. She finishes up and gets up and walks away (which I assumed she was done and just left) and I look down and my nails are very uneven, the powder isn?t even and there?s marks all over my nails. They weren?t noticeably uneven so I decide to leave because I had already spent so much time there. I get in the car and the finger she hurt was BURNING at this point and i look at it and it was bleeding very badly. I still go on with my day because I had a lot of errands to run and was already in a bad mood. I get home (about 3 hours later) and notice that my SNS had already chipped! I?ve been getting SNS for years and this has never happened. Overall, it was done very poorly and quickly and I will not be going back and will encourage my friend to do the same. I don?t even want to go back and try to get it fixed, I?d rather spend the money over again at my usual place to get it redone.
