Technically, Four and a half stars. I want to make a banner that says “GLUTEN FREE BAGELS!!!” And run up and down the sidewalk to celebrate. As you may or may not know, most gluten free bread products especially buns, rolls and the like taste of actual sadness. Now, as you see in the picture, the GF bagel was very pale in color, not looking so bagel-y… who cares! It tastes amazing! Chewy, as a bagel should be, and elastic and firm. No crumbling or dryness. If it was just for the bagel, five stars. I got mine toasted (mandatory for a gluten free bread), with egg salad, provolone, lettuce and cucumber. The egg salad was nice, simple with the right amount of mayo, not too saucy, and a bit of red onion. I would have preferred it to be more minced rather than chopped because I don’t love raw onion, but it wasn’t too much. The lack of one half star is based on the construction- you can’t put a squishy salad on top of a slick ingredient such as cheese or cucumber. It splurts out the sides, resulting in me removing the lid to actually eat it. The salad should have been directly on the bagel next to the textured lettuce. I know, picky picky, but it was so messy. The husbands pastrami as well was so messy, but good. The kid had chicken and pesto and said it was very flavorful. Atmosphere, meh, on a busy street with loud construction at the time we went in July 2019, but does have some outdoor seating, which I prefer, noisy or not. There are also vegan options. Try it, it’s really great!

Noah’s NY Bagels – Menu with Prices – 123 Lincoln Center, Stockton

I’ve been on the lookout for a bagel store in Stockton. I decided to give Noah’s a try today for the first time. It was quite busy for a Sunday morning. I ordered the super onion bagel toasted and had half of the bagel with smoked salmon schmear and the other half with a garlic and herb schmear. I was pretty excited to try their bagels since they have a large variety of different bagels to choose from. The super onion bagel came out way too burnt. The onion flakes on top of the bagel were completely black and it deteriorated from the flavor of the schmear. When I was able to find a part that wasn’t burnt, I loved the pairing of the onion bagel and smoked salmon schmear. The garlic and herbs schmear did not disappoint either. Tip- if you have your bagel toasted, ask them to not toast it too much. You can also have a different schmear and each half of the bagel! I would’ve easily given this place a 4 stars if my bagel didn’t come out burnt.

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 15901 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

I have been here several times since they opened, mostly because I have one kid that is obsessed with it. He has nothing on his sandwich except ham, provolone, and pickles, but I’m pretty sure he could eat it daily. So there must be something about it that he really digs. I will say, the service is really quick, staff is always very friendly, and they have a punchcard to reward me for my loyalty, which is always a huge plus. And, they offer gluten-free bread, which is a huge bonus. They also carefully prepare gluten-free items in a separate area, which for some people is very important. They do charge extra for the gluten-free bread, which if you get the half sub, will get you about a $9 or $10 sandwich, which seems a little pricey to me but I guess if you’re gluten-free, you’re used to that anyway. If you’re not gluten-free, don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies. They are pretty spectacular.

Hat Creek Burger Co. – Menu with Prices – 2311 N Central Expy, Richardson

Let me start this review by saying I recently was diagnosed with Celiac disease. It’s made it really difficult and a pain in the @ss going out to eat. So huge props for to Hat Creek for really catering to people with gluten issues. The effort they take plays a huge role in me giving them 4 stars. I’ve been twice. First time I had a burger wrapped in lettuce and second time I got burger in a bowl. I thought the lettuce wrap had way too much lettuce. But probably better to have too much than too little as you can always take some off. I like the bowl better. If you like spicy then get the Sombrero burger. Really tasty. The sides is where hat creak really shines, especially for folks with gluten issues. Most places you can’t eat most of the sides. Every one of their sides are gluten free which is very impressive. Even gluten free fried pickles which are really good. They have chicken flashers, which are gluten free chicken nuggets. We tried them. We felt they were a little over cooked. If you have a kid with gluten issues they would be really excited they could actually have these chicken nuggets and they would eat them up. Turbo shake with coffee is tasty. Kuddos to Hat Creek from those struggling through trying to live a gluten free live.

Eastside Bagel – Menu with Prices – 8 Line St D, Charleston

Tried a variety of the bagel sandwiches, and boy, did they prove to be excellent bagels! They are definitely the most legit I have found in South Carolina. The sandwiches were loaded with delicious toppings and each deserves individual attention: The Screech Powers (fried bologna, scrambled egg, and American cheese on a plain bagel): Quite possibly the most perfect breakfast sandwich ever. Salty and well-fried, yum! The Hamover Street (ham, Provolone cheese, lettuce, house mayo or mustard on a plain bagel): Piles of sweet delicious ham. Hot lettuce is yucky and I had to remove it. The Ginger Grant (turkey, bacon, cream cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a sundried tomato bagel): surprisingly kind of bland. Bacon flavor overpowered the subtle turkey and cream cheese. Hot lettuce again was yucky. Will remember to ask for none next time. The Eastside Book Club (turkey, ham, bacon, Cheddar, Dijonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on an everything bagel): the everything bagel was too much, and overwhelmed all of the flavors but the bacon. I would ask for this one on plain, and no lettuce. The World Traveller (sausage, scrambled egg, bacon jam, Cheddar, and red onion on an everything bagel): a true taste sensation. This bagel has everything! Might be the best of all. Craveable for sure. The most delicious, authentic bagels you will find! This is definitely a place I will order from again. I only wish they delivered to Goose Creek LOL

Gluten Free Concepts – Menu with Prices – 3420 SE 21st Ave, Portland

WOW WOW WOW!!! I have never had better gluten free bread than Jensen’s bread. I accidentally discovered it on a recent trip to Napa, CA. Cafe Sarafornia offered gluten free toast. At first I was hesitant as I have had every imaginable miserable attempt at gluten free bread. I am happy I an persistant. WOW was I ever shocked and pleased. Even if this bread wasn’t gluten free it would be a stand out. My favorite so far is Multi-Grain & Seed Bread. My tastebuds were dancing!! Fast forward a week. I’m back home on the East coast and craving this amazing bread. Being an Amazon Prime member, I think I can order it via their website. No such luck. I search high and low. Nothing. I contacted the bakery via their FB page and the rest is history. I am desperately trying to get it to the east coast!

The Daily Bagel – Menu with Prices – 495 Morrill Ave #102, Reno

My boyfriend and I visited our friends in Reno this past weekend and wanted to try a new spot in town. One thing that definitely drew us to The Daily Bagel was that they offer both breakfast and lunch sandwiches as long as they are open! This was a win for us since half of us wanted breakfast and half of us wanted lunch. I opted for the #1 (egg, American cheese, and choice of meat – sausage for me) on a tomato pesto cheese bagel. My boyfriend got the Sports Edition with red onion added on a garlic bagel. My best friend and her fiancé got one breakfast sandwich and a lunch sandwich as well. Our orders came out super fast and steaming hot! We decided to eat inside since it was hot outside and there were tables available. Our sandwiches were individually wrapped and packed up in a paper bag, which made it convenient if we wanted to grab our food and go, or had leftovers. Bagel sandwiches can sometimes be messy, with a high chance of splooge, but we didn’t run into that problem! Despite the sandwiches being stacked full of ingredients, I was happy to find that they were also wonderfully self-contained. Must be some kind of delicious bagel magic. The four of us loved finding this gem in Reno and hope to try other bagel flavors in the future! If you’re seeking out specific flavors, be sure to visit early to get em before their gone – the early bird gets the bagel.

Barry Bagels Ann Arbor Menu with Prices 2515 Jackson Ave, Ann Arbor

I have eaten in this place many times but never wrote a review, don’t know why. It has been one of the best bagel place for me since the first time I ate here. They have huge variety of bagels and everything is very fresh. Quality of the ingredients are superb. The other day I ordered onion bagel with turkey pastrami, lettuce, tomato, onion, honey mustard and mayonnaise. It was super delicious yet simple bagel sandwich which is quite feeling. I ended up buying another one to take home for my husband. They serve nice coffee too. The most important thing is the service. Each and every time the service I got was top notch. This place is big with plenty of sitting arrangement with self service. But they have a warmth. Each staff treat you like they know you for ever. At least I get that feeling all the time. The menu is quite big so you need some time to choose or to be sure what you really want. They do have lots of sweet options too. Muffins, cookies. Lots of other drink options and salads too. Although I always opt for their bagels. One time I ordered one sandwich with tons of stuffing in it and it didn’t had that magic . So my suggestion would be choose what ever bread or flavor or meat you want but go with simple ingredients. There that magic happens . The pricing is modest specially the food, quality and service you get I would say it’s a cheap place in that term. The parking is free too which is again another big plus for me. Can’t wait to go back there again soon.

9 Delicacies – Menu with Prices – 520 128th St SW B-8, Everett

9 Delicacies is extremely good. We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Pork Belly Plate with the Spicy Cucumber Salad and House-Made Kimchi. The Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich was a crispy, juicy, saucy, messy piece of goodness on a bun. The chicken was very crispy, but very moist. The sauce was sweet. The combination of the crispy textures, sweetness of the sauce, and the amount of chicken created a nice Unami-bomb (and messy) of a sandwich. The Pork Belly Plate was extremely good as well. There was a decent amount of Pork Belly – enough to share between two people (with the sandwich) and not feel like I missed out. I could’ve done with the Pork Belly being a little more fattier and render, but the flavor was there. The rice was very light and aromatic – the coconut was a really nice flavor profile that made the rice unique. The Spicy Cucumber Salad was very good. It had a nice spice to it and had a great freshness and snap as well. It was the perfect compliment to the salty, fatty pork and meaty and messy sandwich. The Kimchi was very good too. It had a nice snap/crunch, wasn’t too sour, wasn’t too sweet – it was very fresh. Good. We ordered a Spicy Cucumber Salad to go. It was a bit disappointing because 1) they didn’t completely fill up the container and 2) as the salad set it became more condensed, so by the time we got home only about 60 percent of the container was full. I wish they would’ve packed it more – but oh well. Really good food. I’ll definitely be back. It almost feels an Asian/Korean “Meat & Bread.”

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3401 Dale Rd, Modesto

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. This restaurant offers “gluten free” items but contaminate your food at every possible chance. I came in since it says they have GLUTEN FREE options. They have signs like normal restaurants stating there is a chance for cross contamination. Which is normal. But they used the same gloves, same pizza trays, and cooked it on a flour DRENCHED stone oven. When I asked about it they laughed as if it was a joke, did not offer my $20 back and I sat starving as the rest of my group ate while I watched. If you are going to offer gluten free, maybe actually offer gluten free. Advertising saying “gluten free crust” but drenching it in gluten doesn’t do any good. 7/6/2019 @6:20pm. And I won’t be coming back. UPDATE: the owner Nick has replied and yes we did get a refund and an apology which I appreciated. My main concern for others is that an allergy is an allergy. Once that gluten free pizza touches the stone with flour on it, it is no longer gluten free. I understand many people don’t know that, but that is why people like me end up extremely sick. Maybe put a note on the door that instead of saying “possibility of cross contamination” it should say “our gluten free products are no longer gluten free once cooked in our stone oven” It is just for safety. I understand you try your best, but “your best” can get someone hospitalized. Just as if someone was allergic to shellfish and you cook their steak on a grill that just had shellfish on it…..well now they will be in the hospital. you are trying your best, but your best isn’t even close for someone with an allergy. So in other words, if you have an allergy, don’t eat here, if you are using gluten free as a diet or to lose weight, go for it.

Honest Eatery – Menu with Prices – 1400 Foothill Dr Suite 100, Salt Lake City

It was my first time trying Honest Eatery and to be honest not my favorite. Not sure if itâ??s the location or what, but it seems like this location struggles and from the reviews Iâ??ve read for this location and the one SLC and the SLC location has better reviews. I went in to get a quick bite before work and I was really excited for the Brazilian cheese bread, and sadly they were out. I ended up getting the True Power toast with a side salad since they were out of that Brazilian cheese bread. They were out of regular bread, they didnâ??t charge me for the gluten free bread but when youâ??re gluten tolerant you can definitely taste the difference. I bet if I had regular bread it would’ve tasted better to my liking. The side salad was okay, I donâ??t think Iâ??d get it again it was very simple with no pizazz. In my opinion, you would think that on Tuesday at around 1:30-2pm theyâ??d be fully stocked but I guess not. Iâ??ll definitely give this place another try whether it be at this location or the SLC location. But currently, I think this place is okay, Iâ??ve definitely had better.

Bodo’s Bagels – Menu with Prices – 1418 Emmet St N, Charlottesville

When I was a student at UVA, Bodo’s was the universal staple. I visited Charlottesville this past weekend and knew I had to make a stop (or two) at my all-time favorite bagel place. Don’t be scared by the line…it moves QUICK and the bagels are baked to perfection so you won’t be disappointed. I can come for breakfast/brunch and get a solid egg and cheese (sometimes with No Bull if I’m HUNGRY) bagel, or lunch and get a sandwich for whatever mood I’m in! The options are endless so if you’re feeling basic you can get a standard bagel with cream cheese (I’d recommend the Jalapeno Lime or Honey Pecan), but if you’re more adventurous you could go for a bagel sandwich with lettuce, onion, tomato, pesto, red pepper spread, and provolone (just spitballin’ here :P). In any case, Bodo’s is by far the best bagel spot in Charlottesville and I highly recommend.

Mama Resch’s – A Gluten Free Bakery – Menu with Prices – 12635 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park

Outstanding! What else can I say. We have tried just about everything Mama Resch’s bakes and it is all wonderful and allergy free. We were amazed at the listing of allergens their baked goods are free from. (No gluten, no wheat, no corn, no soy, no casein, no dairy, no preservatives, no tree nuts, no peanuts, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, all natural, vegan options available, custom orders available.) We love it so much we ordered some items for a gluten free basket for my mom. Their bread is wonderful. We have tried the millet, herb and banana bread and hamburger buns. All are wonderful! We come home and put half of each loaf in the freezer so we can have it longer than the 3 days they recommend eating it in. (They recommend toasting the bread to thaw it, also toasting helps the bread stay in 1 piece better either fresh or frozen). We have also enjoyed their muffins, cookies and cupcakes. The cupcakes made a wonderful surprise for our gluten free, dairy free daughter!I love that their hours are more extensive than other gluten free bakeries, see their website for the latest hours, but yes currently they are open on Saturday! We make the extra drive often due to being able to come during their hours of operations. They are slightly hard to find, but it is worth it to investigate where it is. We turn East on 127th street, then the first left (North) into the parking lot. Drive to the front of the strip mall and look for The House of Denmark; Mama Resch’s is right next door on the South side.DONâ??T forget to have them slice the bread for you before you leave.
