My friends coordinated the Bike & Brew + Tacos tour for my bachelorette and it was absolutely fantastic. Adam had the whole day mapped perfectly, an awesome balance of sight seeing/neighborhood history as well as delicious beers and mouth-watering tacos. This was a great way to spend the daytime hours with friends while checking a lot of “You’re in Austin! You have to eat tacos/BBQ/drink local beer/have an Armadillo” check boxes. There’s no need to be a cyclist to do this activity, it is very approachable for people of all cycling comforts. Not a beer fan? They also have wine options and coffee!

Lula Drake Wine Parlour – Menu with Prices – 1635 Main St #2817, Columbia

Lula Drake is a very nice wine bar on main street in Columbia We wanted to check this wine bar out for the past couple of weeks, because it’s been highly recommended by friends. Because they’re located on main street , there is available street and garage parking nearby. The street parking is free after 6pm if you find some. Upon entering the wine bar we was greeted by bartender Jessica, who was very courtesy and professional while interacting with all of the guests. We had already eaten earlier this afternoon so we just decided to have a glass of wine, a local draft beer, and a cheese board. The wife said she enjoyed her wine, but felt that $11 a glass for Moscato was kind of high for a smaller city like Columbia. I had the Cabarrus Vanilla Coffee Blonde beer which was just okay, and kind of tasted just like a simple local draft beer. Now the ambience and vibe was very excellent. I would highly recommend it to friends and family members who want to have some good wine in the area.

Disfruta ATX Menu with Prices 4709 Airport Blvd, Austin

They have the most authentic Micheladas in austin! They have different topping options available, like ceviche, or fruit, or aguachiles. Each drink is about 32 ounces of a tomato/ veggie base mixed with lots of lime and spices and topped with Mexican beer. It’s the perfect cure for a hangover, or super refreshing on a hot ass day, or a whole meal if you’re juicing. They also have tacos!! They’ll let you try their mix before you buy the drink. They’re amazing.

Third Coast Coffee Menu with Prices 4402 S Congress Ave #109, Austin

Austin still promotes itself as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” but I’ve been living here a while now, and I’ll tell you exactly what we’re good at: 1. Austin is the “Live Food Truck Capital of the World.” 2. Austin is the “Live Whole Foods Capital of the World.” 3. Austin is the “Live Texans-who-eat-BBQ-but-vote-Democrat Capital of the World.” Oh yeah, and maybe one more: Austin is the “Live Coffee Roasting Capital of the World.” Seattle & San Francisco may have more boutique roasters, but they’re not capitals & grunge is so 1990. If you’ve had a really good cup of coffee from an Austin coffeehouse or hipster restaurant recently, it’s probably from one of our own local roasters. You won’t confuse their stuff with Folgers. And I’m starting to bore myself – the bottom line is Third Coast Coffee beans will cost you $11.99 for twelve ounces at Whole Foods or Central Market, but $9 for sixteen ounces at their South Congress roasting facility. For the exact same stuff. I think Forrest Gump once said, “I’m not a smart man, but I know what a good coffee deal is.” They’re open weekdays until 6, you won’t go wrong with the Yirgacheffe, and I’m just a big fan of their Third Coast Blend & classic Double French. And while you’re buying, you can enjoy a cup of whatever the staff’s brewing. There’s also a buck-off Yelp check-in coupon. Seriously, what gets better than that? Okay, maybe peas & carrots, lightly sautéed.

Pour Wine & Taproom – Menu with Prices – 2905 S Ellsworth Rd Ste. 103, Mesa

We love having a beer & wine bar so close to us. They are always offering a great HH special. Craft beer is not cheap (anywhere) so for those who want domestic cheap beer this may not be the place for you. They are super competitive with pricing and with daily specials it’s a win – win! You can check to see what’s on special on Facebook. They are good about posting it prior opening so that you can plan accordingly. They offer a light revolving menu. This week I had the pork tacos and they were super yummy. If you’re super hungry, they have two to-go restaurants next door and you can have it delivered to you while your enjoying your beverage of choice!!! The best part is not only have we connected with likeminded people we’ve made new friends each time we visit! Please support local small businesses, especially concept ones that offer excellent selections of wine, craft beer & mead. Cheers!

London Bicycle Café – Menu with Prices – 355 Clarence St, London

This is the perfect bike store for urban cyclists and bike commuters. There are other good shops in town for recreational cyclists, but this one is the best for utility cycling hands down no doubts about it. They sell a great selection of commuters, cargo bikes, foldable bikes, e-bikes, Dutch bikes, and fixies, as long as all the gear (and coffee) that you need to make a bicycle a useful means of transportation. No more driving to Toronto or paying for expensive shipment fees when you need cycling gear. This store has all you need. The owner (Ben) is very polite and knowledgeable. He has a great attitude and he will find the right bike for your needs, and you can tell he cares about fostering the cycling community. All the staff is very polite and energetic too. The place is full of good vibes. The coffee is delicious, and they have a great atmosphere to sit and read or work.

Allagash Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 50 Industrial Way, Portland

If you’re also driving like my husband and I to Maine from NYC, you’ll probably arrive kind of tired and also excited to find out what Maine has in store for you. And one of the first things we did after checking into the hotel was going into Allagash for their beer tour. We chose the cheapest ($5/person) because we felt that the more expensive ones (well, it wasn’t a group for myself and him) would not be too enjoyable for myself since I do not drink often or much. So $5 + tax was probably one of the best to get things started for our mini vacation in Maine. It also didn’t disappoint as we learned a bit of history about Allagash and how it’s creator persevered even when nobody would want his booze. I also learned a bit about beer making and saw some of the machinery. Of course, we also had four different beers that we tried which I believe I liked the third one the most (can’t remember the name though, unfortunately.) I didn’t really like the last one which was cocoa and something else but it tasted too much like coffee (I am alas, not a coffee drinker either.) I’m glad I got this experience and also bought some beer for my friends back home in NYC. Also, if you have any friends named “Nancy”, they are currently selling a wild beer called that. Hoping she will like it.

Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House – Menu with Prices – 316 Willow St, Fort Collins

I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed my favorite place in Fort Collins yet! There’s so much about Wolverine that makes it awesome! They are a vital part of the community offering a space for meetings, crafts, writing, weddings, art etc. there is even a little gift shop that features items from their letterpress and from local artists. You can pick from games to play while you sip on your drink. They have coffee, tea, beer and wine and I usually have a hard time choosing between coffee and the local craft beers. They serve simple but delicious soup/salad options between 11am-2pm. Often, there is free popcorn up for grabs too! The patio is spacious and the perfect place to hang out when the weather is nice!

Tom’s Farms Cheese and Wine Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 23900 Temescal Canyon Rd, Corona

The Cheese & Wine Shoppe is conveniently located in Tom’s Farms and it is THE place to stop before or after Glen Ivy. A great place to purchase gourmet foods and goodies. They have homemade breads that are baked daily as well as delicious cookies and pies. The pies are priced just right and full of flavor. Try the boysenberry pie or raspberry pie. There are over 600 varieties of wine. Most of the wines are from the Temecula Valley, but the selection expands over several popular California regions. They have a wine tasting area to sample many of the wines and even offer a beer tasting option. Four tastes for $5.00. There’s definitely something for everyone. The craft beer selection is larger than most and continually growing. I love to stop in and purchase gourmet goodies and beer/wine to enjoy while relaxing in the outdoor patio area near the pond. The gift baskets and gift boxes are perfect! They have a nice selection of unique gift baskets/boxes to choose from…great for any occasion. You have an option to choose from pre-made baskets/boxes or the liberty to customize your very own (you choose the items). At The Cheese & Wine Shoppe you will find a variety of the following: beef jerky, gourmet coffee, gourmet hot sauces, wine accessories and awesome gift baskets/boxes. The list goes on…tasty cheese, meats, olives, sauces, salsa and seasonings. There’s a small deli in the back corner of the shoppe with a walk-up window in the patio area for pick-up. It’s called the Patio Pizza! The menu includes: pizza, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, grinders & subs and a variety of sides. It probably needs its very own Yelp, but for now here it is!! Don’t miss this little gem.

The Whining Pig Mcdowell Mountain – Menu with Prices – 10121 E Bell Rd suite 110, Scottsdale

What a great addition to the McDowell Mountain Ranch neighborhood! With over 35 rotating craft beer taps and another 100 canned/bottled options including some fantastic Imperial stouts and a huge wine inventory they have something for everyone. Their no-frills approach and rustic decor are refreshing with beer/wine lists and grilled cheese and meat/cheese plate snack options handwritten in colorful chalk on 2 huge blackboards. They even have a color coding system for the different beer styles with each beer having its own individual ID number. The staff is down to earth and fun to chat with and are very knowledgeable about everything that they serve. Seventh Son Brewing Co. – Menu with Prices – 1101 N 4th St, Columbus

Seventh Son is very popular brewery in Columbus so my friends and I finally made it over there last weekend for a visit. Pros: -Cool, trendy industrial atmosphere -Rotating local food truck outside -Runs fun specials -Many beer options Cons: -No gluten free beers or ciders. This was a big issue for me since I can’t have gluten. I could’ve gotten a mic drink but what’s the fun in that? I go to a brewery to go beer. -The upstairs is so unbelievably loud (I think from echoing since there isn’t much material around to absorb sound. Everything is made of wood, steel, wrought iron, etc) I could barely hear my friends across the table. Overall, it’s worth a stop just to check it out and say you’ve been there- it’s a popular Columbus destination. However, because there is no gluten free brews and the noise…I’m not itching to go back.

Electric Pussycat – Menu with Prices – 103 E Broadway, Glendale

Not an Austin Powers bar anymore! I wanted to have my Austin Powers bday party here, so 2 weeks prior I e-mailed, called the manager, and called the bar. I finally got a response back the Mon before the party. I told them about the theme and that I had 44 people coming. I sent them a screenshot of the event. I asked for a little table that I could put my stuff at by the main floor. They wanted $1000, but we settled for $200. When I got there, they didnâ??t know who I was. I had no table, but even if I did, they were about 2 feet wide. Worst of all, they neglected to tell me it wasnâ??t an Austin Powers bar anymore. There were no themed drinks, no bright lights.. they were playing hip hop, and no fembots/Austin/Mini-me.. nothing on a Sat night. There was this woman singing horribly on a microphone for 15 min intervals as well. My friends were ready to shoot themselves. They didnâ??t tell me it wasnâ??t Austin Powers themed because they still wanted all of my people. That is WRONG, misleading, and just broke my heart. The manager apologized and said she had no idea about the party and gave me a few drink tickets and asked the dj to slip in some 60s songs but donâ??t go here. What they did was wrong and itâ??s just like any other dark LA club now. They need to take their website down that promised an Austin Powers bar. Thanks for making me feel like I wasnâ??t important.
