Stopped in here on a Saturday morning in search of both “Wine wisdom” and a few bottles of special sparkling wine for my son’s wedding, first night and their 1 year anniversary. Not a wine person myself, all I knew is that my soon-to-be-daughter in-law enjoyed Riesling. The woman behind the counter shared that she didn’t have such a wine but offered to get on the phone and help find “the one” that she knew would be great. She called her wine broker who shared where to find it. I went there, I bought 3 bottles. My now-daughter-in-law raved about it during the wedding and was so excited to have a sparkling option since she doesn’t like most champagnes. I do wish I remembered the woman’s name who helped me – she was remarkable – and was right about “the one” wine too! If you find yourself in Everett on a Saturday morning, stop in – enjoy a cup of coffee and leave with some Wine wisdom too. I’ll definitely be back!

Mary Ann Donut Kitchen Menu with Prices 1601 Liberty St, Allentown

Mary Ann Donut is the best! I got married in May & I’m not much of a cake person so I had doughnuts for my big day. I heard great things about this place and knew we had to try them. My husband and I went one Saturday morning got two doughnuts and coffee. The doughnuts were incredible and I knew then that Mary Ann Donut had to make my doughnuts for my wedding. The whole staff is very friendly & helpful. They were so accommodating & made the process simple and painless. I had nothing to worry about when it came to my doughnuts. On top of the doughnuts the baker made me assorted cookies- they do it all! Everything came out amazing & of course tasted delicious! The guests at my wedding raved about the doughnuts for weeks! I would highly recommend stopping at Mary Ann Donut. I wish I lived closer because I would be there every day. Great atmosphere, amazing bakery items & extremely reasonable prices.

Dolce Vita Trattoria Italiana Menu with Prices 323 E Broad St, Athens

I left dolce vita less than two hours ago and am writing this review completely disgusted with the situation I experienced tonight. I honestly feel like I should have been paid to even sit down in this restaurant. When my group arrived at 6:30, we immediately began to order drinks. The first red flag occurred when they did not even have enough menus for all 5 tables in the restaurant. I ordered a bottle of the only white wine on the menu (yes, there is only one white on the entire wine list) and was told that they were out of it. It was 6:30 and only 4 tables were occupied. The waiter offered me a sparkling wine and a moscato, which in its self shows how little this restaurant cares to not even train their waiter that moscato is a dessert wine. After this I ordered a sparkling wine which seemed like it was my only option for the night. The Prosecco was great, but I received my wine by walking up to the bar when my waiter gestured me to walk over and grab it, because he obviously wasn’t going to bring it to the table himself. After my first glass I tried to order a second and was told that they had unfortunately ran out of both types of Prosecco they had. My THIRD choice was to order a beer because at this point we were one hour into our reservation and had not received our salad, and I needed a drink. They were out of beer as well. At 8:20 my group and I stood up and told our waiter we were leaving because 5 plates of pasta never arrived at our table after almost 2 hours. After paying for our wine, which we should not have even had to do considering they were out of all of our first and second choices, the manager (who we later learned is the owner of the restaurant) proceeded to grab my friend by the arm and demand she pay for food we never received. When my boyfriend went to ask about the bill, he retreated to the kitchen like a coward. While the staff at dolce vita may think my friends and I are just young, obnoxious students, you lost about $600 dollars on our table full of soon to be UGA alumni. Your blatant disrespect to us was confirmed by the 4 tables that came and went while we waited for appetizers. My time in Athens will be remembered dearly besides this experience and I will NEVER recommend anyone to come here. And I sincerely hope the manager/owner never grabs another patron again, because that is assault and should be take seriously.

I d’ Ã?clair Pastry – Menu with Prices – 1800 E Lincoln Ave Unit D, Fort Collins

I contacted Espresso people months in advance for a brunch wedding. As all the other vendors had me sign contracts and pay a deposit, when I asked about the same for this vendor, I was told she didn’t have contracts and had never had a problem. I communicated a few times as the date approached and the owner seemed very responsible and proactive about electricity, set up space and the services we were asking for, which included 2 baristas. She shared that her daughter was getting married the week before our event, I sent her the name of our venue, an address and a Google map direction, well in advance of that week. I have no idea if her daughter’s wedding caused extra stress, but must say that things got weird after that week. The night before the wedding, while we were out at the rehearsal dinner, the owner sent an email asking for confirmation. I would question this timeline as most people aren’t on the internet the night before a wedding and I thought this was all taken care of. I didn’t receive that email, as we were busy with other wedding things. The morning of my daughter’s brunch wedding, I woke early for last minute preparations. I noticed that an email was sent at 4am. The owner said she was cancelling our event because she didn’t feel comfortable sending her people to a non-verified address. I was in shock and frantically sent two emails and tried to call her. I received a message that the number I was calling was disconnected. I had not signed a contract and had not paid money, but was so sad that our great coffee bar for a brunch wedding was being cancelled. My sweet husband mentioned that if missing coffee was the worst thing to happen, we were still in good shape and shouldn’t worry. Our venue was in the foothills behind Horsetooth and didn’t have cell service or internet, so we called family before we left Fort Collins and asked if they would buy coffee cups at the store and pick up large containers of coffee from a local coffee place as our caterer had been told we didn’t need coffee and breakfast without coffee was not a great option. Later that morning, as the wedding was just beginning, we were pleasantly surprised as the coffee cart showed up! They did a great job and all the guests were happy, but we had tons of extra regular coffee and lots of cups (not to mention the extra cost and the stress) that were not necessary. The hired workers, not the owner, said they were always planning on coming and had no idea why we got a message that they were cancelling. After the event, my husband paid using the invoice they gave us and gave a 20% tip to the baristas. In the following few days, I received another email from the owner with a new invoice that was a higher price. I wrote and showed that we had already paid and showed the included tip and said I wasn’t paying anymore. I never heard from her again.

Chop & Chops MMA – Menu with Prices – 127 Tompkins Ave, Brooklyn

I’ve been training with Jaime and Humberto Perea since 2015. I knew absolutely nothing about any of the Mixed Martial Arts classes and techniques. They both helped me so much along the way. I’m proud to say that these two have helped so many people like me in their own MMA journeys – from the beginner to the more experienced fighter. No matter where we have trained together, a group of peers would gravitate towards the Perea’s for extra help during classes and open mats. It only makes sense that they have their own gym to teach and help more students. These classes have both given me a strong workout and helped me feel more confident in Striking and Jiu Jitsu techniques. Plus I remembered what it’s like to have fun training again! I look forward to training more at Chop & Chops MMA!

Ella’s Cakes – Menu with Prices – 4110 Enterprise Ave # 105 # 105, Naples

Ella’s Cakes was so flexible and accommodating for our daughter’s wedding. We contacted her only three weeks before the wedding date. She came highly recommended by some recently married friends who were thrilled with their wedding cake. Daniella had a wealth of knowledge and expertise and presented several options after seeing my daughter’s ideas. The end result was far better than we had imagined! Not only was it a show stopper, but the cake was deliciously perfect from the butter cream icing, to the white chocolate mousse filling to the moist vanilla layers! It was heaven in our mouths!

Port Gardner Bay Winery – Menu with Prices – 3006 Rucker Ave, Everett

I had an excellent experience at the PGB Winery. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place thanks to Yelp. I have nothing but good things to say about both the service and the wine. For starters, everyone there was very friendly. It felt like a family inviting us to share their delicious wine. The wine kept coming with the tasting, and the company was just as great. I personally think the atmosphere of a place helps to define their repuation, and this place is probably one of the best places I have been since moving to the West Coast. Second, the wine. Every single wine we tried was absolutely delicious. It was very hard to only choose 2 bottles to take home with us. We did a red wine flight where we were able to choose 6 out of about ~10 reds to try. Don’t worry, they have whites as well, we just were in a red mood. Every wine we tried was very good. How anyone could have rated this bad, I don’t know. The wine was great, and everyone we encountered knew their stuff, which was nice never having WA wine before. There was cheese/salami/crackers served with the wine, which I didn’t touch very much because I was so focused on the wine, but it was nice that they had something to go along with while you drink. Honestly, the wine may speak volumes for itself, but the people made it that much better. They welcomed us and made our first experience exploring Everett and the WA wine world even better than we had expected. We will be back here, no questions about that! A precious gem in the heart of Everett!

Specialty Cakes – Menu with Prices – 1560 Wabash Ave, Springfield

If you want the best cake for your event, check out Specialty Cakes! They offer so much more than just cake but for our wedding we were looking specifically for cake. Cake tasting is probably the most exciting and anticipated event during the planning process! Specialty Cakes delivered with excellent flavor, presentation, easy process, and wonderful workers! Even though we all wanted to go taste more cake, we knew in the first few bites that we were sold. Who says a wedding cake has to be a boring white and chocolate cake? This place offers so many great options. My husband and I couldnâ??t make up our minds, so our wedding cake included 4 different flavors, White, Lemon, Strawberry, and Banana! They also made us an amazing Rumchata adult sheet cake and a Spice/Red Velvet sheet cake for all of us to enjoy! Our guests were incredibly happy with all of the options and raved about the flavor and design of our cake. We could not be happier with our decision on working with Specialty Cakes, they were tremendous with our whole wedding!

Thorn Hill Winery – Menu with Prices – 1945 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster

We found Thorn Hill on Local Flavor and were intrigued with a tasting room in a strip mall. We were more than pleasantly surprised when we walked inside! The decor is welcoming with a small wine bar and plenty of seating with a nice fireplace that warmed a cozy corner. We were greeted by Rachel, the daughter of the owners and winemaker. She was warm and welcoming and enthusiastically shared the story of how a California Vineyard came to have a tasting room in Lancaster County. We tasted 4 wines, all of which were very good. I’m an amateur, but can tell a quality wine when I taste one! The deal included a local chèvre, 2 varieties, crackers and chocolates…oh and almonds and dried plums. All were great to pair with the wines! It was a lovely afternoon and we left with a couple of bottles in tow! Recommend for a nice afternoon with friends or a romantic interest!

Ed Hyder’s Mediterranean Marketplace – Menu with Prices – 408 Pleasant St, Worcester

A lot of wine, cheese, spices, and knowledge about food packed into this small store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are better than I expected. I went to a wine tasting here on a Saturday and the gentleman explaining the wines knew so much more about wine than anyone in our group. We learned so much, and tried (and then bought many different wines that we wouldn’t have discovered had we not gone to Ed Hyder’s that afternoon.

Jonathan Club – Menu with Prices – 850 Palisades Beach Rd, Santa Monica

Went here for a Wedding as a guest. The Wedding was beautiful. This review has nothing to do with the Wedding. Has anyone else encountered a Ghost experience? I know this place has been opened for sometime now so I wont be surprised if it is haunted. I left the Wedding and was seated outside waiting on a a Uber. I needed to use the restroom so rather than walk back into the Wedding, I was escorted to the restroom, on the side of the building towards the back, where a key was needed to open. I was the only person in a two toilet restroom. As I proceeded to the door to leave the restroom there I see a mop up against the door, jammed threw the door handle. As I mentioned, I was the ONLY one in the restroom. I did not hear a mop fall down and if someone put the mop there; How would they have gotten out?? … Exactly! … I grabbed the mop, threw it to the side and ran to the front. As I told the front desk guy what just happened he replied in a non surprised manner with ” Yes I saw the mop was outside the door. You should tell this to the manager”. Well manager was not hearing it and totally ignored me and kept walking. I guess he doesnt want word to get out that The Johnathan Club is Haunted !

Filomena’s Italian Kitchen & Market – Menu with Prices – 2400 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa

I am so glad we decided to go here! There were 7 of us in our group and I made sure to call ahead to make a reservation- I would really recommend calling ahead because I didn’t realize how tiny the restaurant is! We had to wait a few minutes but they were able to seat us at a table all to ourselves which was nice (there were also shared table options available). The restaurant itself is super cute and from we had heard, it recently got a facelift. The ambiance was good and we made sure to call ahead to ask about bringing our own wine which they graciously allow 2 bottles per table with a $20 corkage fee per bottle. Moral of the story, we brought two bottles. We ordered 6 plates to share amongst the 7 of us. Let me tell you, there was not one thing that we ordered that any of us did not like! Everything was spectacular. What we ordered: 1) Four Cheese Ravioli & Meatball – this was my favorite dish and everyone else’s 1st or 2nd as well. 2) Papperdelle Bolognese – This was a close second for me to the above, and this was a lot of people favorite I was with…if you are in a smaller group and cant try everything I would say go with these two options and you wont be disappointed! 3) Pizza Bianca – This was a perfect balance to all of the things we ordered with red sauce. 4) Chicken Risotto Special – We had to order one of the three specials of the night and this one also did not disappoint. 5) Bowties Sausage & Spinach – of everything I got this one was still good but not as good as the others. If I hadn’t tried all the other things I probably would have ranted and raved at how amazing this was, but compared to everything else I would order the other things before I would order this again. Last but not least, our server, Manny, was so amazing!! He was really nice to our group and just an overall sweetheart and made our experience that much more enjoyable!
