So last week we went to a restaurant in the same strip mall as Bangkok Square, and had noticed that it was there. We had looked at the menu and decided that we had to try it sometime. Well, that sometime happened a week later. We got in around seven and had a table instantly. It is summer, so things aren’t so busy with students and the like. The restaurant is more open than most Thai restaurants that I have experienced, and more light comes in from the windows so that you can see, which is nice. There is also a patio on the South side that should be nice in the late Fall and Winter months, particularly since it is not overlooking 39th Avenue. I ordered the fresh rolls as an appetizer, along with the Tom Yum soup. The rolls were good, but a bit on the small side. The soup was quite good, though. I am a total sucker for Tom Yum soup. For my main course I ordered the green curry “Thai Hot”. The curry was good, don’t get me wrong, but either my concept of what “Thai Hot” should be is completely skewed, or I received the American version of the concept, because frankly it barely registered. I would call it a medium spice level, a bit above jalapeno, but not at the level of habanero. Still tasty, mind you… just not all that spicy. For a local Thai restaurant, I am happy that they have opened here, as it gives my more options closer to home, and I don’t have to drive to the other side of Gainesville. I will be returning at some point to try something different in the next couple of months, I am sure.

Nam Jai Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 3414 NE 52nd St, Vancouver

I was a big fan of the previous restaurant at this location, Dok Koon Thai and was very disappointed when it closed. Luckily, Nam Jai Thai took over and actually improved both the restaurant appearance and the taste of the food. We had the Chicken Pad Thai, Lemongrass Chicken, Tofu Salad Rolls, Pineapple Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice, and a Thai Iced tea. Everything was fresh, generously portioned, and tasted excellent. My only minor criticism comes from the insufficient spice level for “level 5”, it could have been kicked up a bit more. Will be back for sure!

Phosome Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 480 Parliament St, Toronto

We came here for lunch today. It wasnâ??t busy and the restaurant was extremely well staffed. We ordered four dishes. (1) fresh rolls with mushrooms (2) a vegetarian curried soup (3) shrimp/chicken pad thai, and (4) vegan bun. The food was just okay. There was a weird flavour in everything – almost a chemical taste…not sure what it was or whether I need to be concerned. The main issue was the chicken in the pad thai. It was like rubber. You could barely chew through it. Completely inedible. I brought this to the attention of the waiter who, besides apologizing and saying something to the effect of â??the kitchen made it in a rushâ?, she didnâ??t rectify it. Any normal restaurant would have replaced the dish, offered an alternative, or not charge for it. Anyways, itâ??s only their first or second week in operation…so theyâ??re still learning how to run a restaurant…which is why I will give them another try in 6 months. I will credit them with at least offering a lot of vegan and vegetarian options.

spicy 9 thai Menu with Prices 1984 Nome St, Aurora

I would call myself a “Thai Food” Lover! I usually eat Thai Food about 5 days a week. I have been all over Colorado and have eaten at most of the Authentic Thai places. Today I have seen this place pop up on yelp and so I decided to give it a try. I started with the Vegetable Egg Rolls which I would say are “just ok”. They are the same traditional frozen egg rolls I have had at other places. I personally prefer them made by hand, especially if I am paying $5.50. Next the young man brought out my Thai Tea which I was surprised to see it come to my table with a sealed lid, as if it was made outside of the restaurant. This is the 1st time I have ever seen this. Most of the time the Thai Tea is made fresh daily at the restaurant. The Thai tea was too sweet to drink. Not sure how many grams of sugar were in it, but it was overpowering the tea. Next was the Nam Tok Noodle Soup which also was “just ok”. When it comes to Thai Soups it’s all about the broth and flavor, Only 2 Pork meatballs were a disappointment! For a $11.00 soup I expected more. I have had $6 Thai soups that would blow this soup out the water. I am very picky about my Thai because I eat it almost daily, maybe my expectations for supposed to be “AUTHENTIC THAI” are very high. Based on my visit today this is a decent place for people who don’t really know Authentic Thai Food.

Thai Food Corner – Menu with Prices – 5253 E Brown Rd # 104, Mesa

My Mom is from Thailand and I’ve grown up with Thai cuisine. This is probably the worst “Thai restaurant” I have ever been to. The Larb was served on a lot of lettuce barely any meat. The red curry had absolutely no curry or coconut milk taste it looked and tasted like a bowl of oil. The cook came out and said he was still hungover from last night which made sense considering the food was so awful. If you want Americanized Thai food this is the place to go. I should’ve know better.. any Thai restaurant that has orange chicken on the menu is a red flag.

Thailand Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 86-05 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica

Wanted to try this restaurant as it is the only option for Thai food on Uber Eats. As we came to the restaurant the outside looks a bit shabby so we were reluctant to go in, once inside we had to sit ourselves as it was empty with 1 other patron. The place is clean but very outdated decor. It only has 2 staff members working there the owner who is an older woman, and her assistant. The wait is a bit long, but my boyfriend and I ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer, chicken green curry, and chicken pad Thai as our main courses. For drinks I got the Thai iced tea, and my boyfriend ordered the tamarind juice. Spring rolls were good and tasty, our drinks were good (Thai tea was creamy), and our food was actually very good. Food came out very hot so be careful. The green curry was flavorful but I also felt that it was a healthier version than most green curry I’ve had ( not a lot of additives), the pad Thai was also flavorful and saucy ( I hate dry pad Thai). The owner was very friendly and made you feel welcomed.

Siam Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 915 Hillcrest Rd Suite C, Mobile

Food was alright, however, I asked my server which of their curries was the hottest (red curry, could’ve fooled me) and requested “five star” spice level on said item which is supposed to be as spicy as they offer. I received the mildest curry I have ever eaten in my life; my grandmother would probably have loved it but I went to a Thai restaurant specifically for something very spicy. It did not taste right to have such a pathetically mild curry. I informed my waitress and she provided me with a particularly mild crock of red pepper flakes to add my meal which I very clearly desired to be very hot before hand. I got somewhat close to the desired level of heat I ordered but the texture of my curry was ruined by the 6 spoonfulls of red pepper flakes I had to add. Regardless of the friendly service and atmosphere, I highly doubt I’ll return. If you are someone who like spicy Thai food, look elsewhere; I was sorely disappointed.

Asian Express & Thai Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2943 S Rutherford Blvd, Murfreesboro

Was Nappakao Thai. They are currently trying to find a new location. This is by far the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. Amazing selections too. The best curry dishes and absolutely without a doubt the best quality appetizers. The summer rolls are amazing and so much more fresh (and much bigger) than anywhere else! The curry dishes aren’t too thick and are more soupy (the way I like it). They have good serving sizes and quality ingredients. The spice shouldn’t be a problem for anyone, unless you don’t like spicy, and if that’s the case you probably shouldn’t even be eating curry anywhere. Everything I’ve tried is the best I’ve tried anywhere, and I’ve been everywhere. If you like sugary drinks, don’t forget to try the Thai tea! Second best (maybe tied for first) Thai food around Middle Tennessee is probably at Sakura in Franklin, TN.

House of Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 4582 Cumberland Rd, Fayetteville

6/25/2019: I had to update my review because House of Thai more than deserves the fifth star. Their food is just so dang good. I’ve tried a few other Thai places in Fayetteville over the last few days and nowhere held a candle to House of Thai. This time I ordered the Tom Kha medium spice and the Drunken Noodles hot spice. And holy wow!! I am food drunk right now this was so good. The curry the other day was definitely delicious, but I think it was maybe just a little too busy last Friday for them to be able to really put the magic into their cooking that I was lucky enough to receive today. 6/21/2019: I am personally a Thai fanatic. And I’d definitely come back to this place. That being said, it was by no means the best Thai I’ve ever had, but it was by no means anywhere close to the worst. I’m giving four stars because the service was good, the food came fast, fresh, and hot, and the spice level was fair. Overall, my expectations of Fayetteville Thai, at a restaurant with few reviews have been exceeded. I ordered the green curry with chicken with medium spice. Sometimes I order medium spice at other restaurants and it’s like they forgot to even salt the food it lacks so much spice. But the spice level here was really good. I love spicy food, and after eating a bit my nose started to run and I had that little bit of tinlge on my lips. The curry itself was pretty standard. It wasn’t anything exceptional, but I would definitely eat it again. Overall, I would recommend House of Thai to my friends.

Green Papaya – Baseline – Menu with Prices – 1374 Baseline Rd, Ottawa

I’m always eager to try another Thai place. First off, we ordered Pad Thai (shrimp), Panaeng Curry (chicken), sticky rice and spring rolls. The food was very good, however, the portions were not terribly large, which meant we were a bit hungry at the end of the meal (there were two of us ordering together to share). Our bill ended up at about 60 dollars after tax, and that included two non-alcoholic drinks. The service was impeccable. The wait times for food was short, and during the short wait until our food arrived we were given a complimentary tray of shrimp chips with peanut sauce to snack on, which was a nice surprise. The decor in this restaurant is also very nice. It looks like they may also offer a buffet on some days/times of the week as they had a steam table in the main dining area. There is also a small room off to the side which would work great for hosting events or group dinners. I should also mention that the ingredients were of high quality. Everything tasted and looked amazing. The panaeng curry had fresh, sweet green peas in it, which really added a nice touch. And there was plenty of the delicious curry sauce to spoon over our rice. Also, there were nice embellishments on each dish that were very appealing. I would definitely go to this restaurant again.

Siamese Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 4352 W Olive Ave, Glendale

My roommate needed a night out so we came here since I was also craving thai. They had great reviews and it seemed pretty cheap, so obviously I had to give them a try. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from outside and it doesn’t look like much when you go in either. It’s not a fancy place for sure. My roommate was a little concerned since we were the only ones there. I still had faith. My roomie started with the spring rolls, which was basically egg rolls, and I ordered a thai ice tea. To me, spring rolls are not deep fried but are sticky rice paper. Had I ordered this, I would have been really disappointed. I didn’t try the egg roll but from what I could see inside it, it probably wouldn’t have been something I would have liked anyways. I saw mostly glass noodles and what I would assume was cabbage. If you have read any of my past reviews, we know how I feel about this. The thai ice tea was really good. I would guess based on how it came out and past experience it’s from a bottle and probably not house made. Still good though. For my entree, I order the pad thai. I was really happy about the fact that they have the pad thai here come with both shrimp and chicken and for a really cheap price. I asked for my dish to be hot and probably should have asked for it to be thai hot, which was the hottest option she gave me. Hot wasn’t hot at all for me. I would say it had a little kick but when I eat thai food, I like it to be really hot. There was a lot of food and a more than reasonable amount of meat. The shrimp and chicken was cooked perfectly. This was honestly the best tasting pad thai I’ve ever had. I plan on going back in the next week or two to get more pad thai. My roommate ordered a curry dish and he said he loved it. If you haven’t been here, it’s definitely worth a trip. Thank you Yelpers for pulling through on this place.

Thai Corner Menu with Prices 1277 Gilman St, Berkeley

I ordered Pad Thai, Green Beef Curry when Thai Corner first opened to take home for Dinner and it was a great meal full of flavor. I took my wife to have lunch given the first great positive experience and was so disappointed that we left the food on the table with a very bad taste in our mouths. This time we ordered Calamari which came in a batter fried with squid that tasted like rubber and was very hard that we could not eat it. We told our waitress and we said if we could get something else instead and we traded it for the spring rolls. The spring rolls came really fast so we were happy at first, but then noticed the lettuce and vegetables were very stale and yellowish in color not fresh at all. This time we had ordered the green curry beef and pad Thai again. The food tasted terrible this time, and we felt that it had to be a new or different cook at lunch time because it wasn’t like the time the week before. The curry had an excessive amount of coconut and meat was not flavorful at all. The pad Thai was a mush of a strange flavor that tasted like iron not at all like a Pad Thai is supposed to taste. We have been to many great Thai places and it is really disappointing that a new restaurant in our neighborhood would be so inconsistent in the quality of the experience. Our waitress noticed we asked for the check and did not even care to inquire about the why we had left all the food on the table after just 10 minutes. She just handed us the check for $41.76 and said nothing (September 16th 2019 transaction) . We paid and left without even bothering. I think it is really sad and terrible how a new restaurant with a huge capital investment just does not train or care to know why new customers would walk out on their food. My wife and I kept asking ourselves, “how are they going to remain in business like this?”

Thai Hub Street Food – Menu with Prices – 3720 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance

Torrance Food Crawl #384 ThaiHub has taken over the space previously occupied by Pieology. The menu is not so much a formal presentation of Thai food as a casual collection of presumably street food commonly found in Thailand. The Cashew Nut Chicken dish mixed chicken, red peppers, onions, chilis, and cashew nuts. On the side was some white rice with a fried egg on top. The chicken was well done, to the point of becoming almost too hard or chewy; a sweet good taste, just on the chewy side. The vegetables were all fresh. I had asked for an average spice level but probably should have asked for it to be a little spicier. The rice was average, as was the fried egg. The Tom Yum Koong soup was a lemongrass soup with shrimp, oyster, and shrimp paste. Nice tasting, with nice flavors of seafood. A better soup was the Milky Seafood Tom Yum, also a lemongrass soup with scallops, fish, squid, mussels, and shrimp. The soup came in a large portion that two people could comfortably ladle out to themselves. With a higher spice level, I liked this soup tremendously. Great tasting with a nice aftertaste. When it comes to appetizers I’ve tried the Vegetable Egg Roll, a typical egg roll with cabbage and carrots, served almost scaldingly hot, with a sweet dipping sauce. Better were the Crispy Rolls which had crab, pork, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper, lightly fried, and very tasty. Served cold, I’ve also had the Fresh Shrimp Rolls which were nicely crunchy, with fresh lettuce and carrots and a shrimp covered with a thin rice wrapping. There’s a nice collection of about a half dozen Thai condiments over on the side, though some of them run low towards the end of the day (or maybe there was a run on them by groups of people before I was there). Thai Hub has a large interior space with over a dozen tables inside so seating shouldn’t be a problem.
