Debated between 4 and 5 stars so I will round up. In the former Ron’s island grill behind market of choice. Revamped with a open garage door and picnic style seating. Bacon gorgonzola fries…get them….huge portion, good sauce to round them off…large fed 4 people and still had some left. Dawg…good flavor and toast on the bun, fun creations and good ideas on the back…. cream cheese, sweet peppers and chimi was pretty legit on top of my rabbit sausage! Beer, for a place called bangers and brews the tap felt a touch short with 7 or 8. Bread with chimichurri, sauce was good. Bread felt a little weak and something I buy at walmart for 89 cents. Staff was super friendly, and the little sayings of “we appreciate you for coming in” are always inviting. Happy hour is terribly advertised…can you add these prices on a happy hour menu? Go before 6 and everything is 1 to 2 dollars off.

Salsa Latina – Menu with Prices – 2877 N Green Valley Pkwy, Henderson

It’s laundry day so while waiting for a cycle I’m getting lunch at a NKOTB spot called Salsa Latina. They just opened on Super Bowl Sunday. I got the beef sandwich with chimichurri, fries side and a chicken empanada. The sandwich was hearty af! Two 1/4 inch slabs of grilled beef, thick tomato slices, grilled onion, and chimichurri sauce… I’ve had chimichurri before and I could not taste it. Maybe the order was incorrect because the sandwich had mayo, which I don’t mind but I personally wouldn’t mix chimichurri and mayo. The bread was fresh, toasted and delicious. The fries were plentiful and hot! I wanted to add some salt but there was no salt or pepper available and any of the tables. I asked for ketchup and was provided 3 packets. Not a criticism, just an observation because the food is really good, hearth, filling and fresh come to Mind. The chicken empanada was a hit but again, would have liked a dipping sauce of some kind… like chimichurri! Crispy fried wrap with a flavorful ground chicken filling. All good in my hood. I’ll be back to explore the rest of the menu including the beyond meat option. The food is fresh, filling and flavorful.. the bathroom is clean but unisex… sorry ladies and libras. Support you local small businesses. Dam the man!

Bangers & Brews Menu with Prices 1288 SW Simpson Ave Suite A, Bend

We went here as my step daughter wanted a gluten free option and the place had great reviews on trip advisor! We were frankly unimpressed and left with queasy stomachs and a disproportionately high price! We left scratching our heads about the unrealistically high reviews. I had a spicy Italian sausage with the kitchen sink in terms of trimmings, my wife had a more upscale and more expensive sausage with less spicy trimmings, the kids had macaroni and cheese, my step daughter had the banger and mash and we had the Gorgonzola and bacon fries. My brat was overdone but tasteless and certainly not spicy and was further killed by an overdosage of jalapeños. We also got a plain order of fries for the kids. My wifeâ??s frank was unimpressive. The Mac and cheese was okay and the size appropriate. The ordinary French fries were tasteless and unsalted. I was really looking forward to the Gorgonzola and bacon fries as one review had called them to die for as I love fries, Gorgonzola and bacon, so I figured whatâ??s not to like! Unfortunately, the answer was these fries! I have had Gorgonzola fries at Henryâ??s in Portland and they were excellent! These were not. They simply threw them on a large pan and fried them or warmed them up and then sprinkled Gorgonzola cheese and bacon on them and did not melt them into or onto the fries. The only salt on the fries came from the cheese and the fries were lackluster at best. The ordinary fries actually tasted better though not much! The banger and mash was the best item of the batch and it might have been good enough to be called ordinary. The best item on the menu was the cider of which they had one choice but it was a good fruity one and as it was happy hour it was only 3.50$. The bangers were $7.95 and $9.95 and the bangers and mash, which was one banger and mashed potatoes was $10.95. The fries with Gorgonzola and bacon had tasted greasy and unappetizing but we took most of them home with the thought that if we warmed them up and melted the ingredients together they might taste better later. Alas, that was not the case as they still tasted greasy but even more unappetizing the second time around. Part of the banger and mash went home also where it was consumed by the gluten free person. Truly, Arnour or Oscar Meyer hot dogs would have been better and Johnsonville brats in the cheese or jalapeño and cheese varieties or their hot brats would have been much better. They have a punch or stamp card available where if you get 10 bangers purchased you get the 11th free so you may want to join if you are masochistic enough. Despite having four stamps we will not be qualifying for a free one as we will never return! Sadly, a nice outdoor area with picnic tables awaits if the weather is good, as it was!

Park Lane Tavern of VB Kempsville – Menu with Prices – 1250 Fordham Dr, Virginia Beach

This place was recommended by a friend. I met two long time friends for dinner. I was greeted at the door and seated immediately, it wasn’t that busy at 5:45. There were a number of Monday night specials and decent happy hour specials. We ordered some fried pickles and the beer of the night. Ale works beer from Williamsburg, VA. The menu has many options and many British food items. I ordered the bangers and mash with snap peas/carrots on the side. The dish was excellent and I have had that same dish at many other pubs. My friends had the corn beef burger and the Tavern burger. Both dinners were enjoyed by them. There was even live acoustic music that was good too. The crowd came in around 7:30 to hear the music. I would recommend this place.

A Touch of Italy – Menu with Prices – 7890 Summerlin Lakes Dr # 101, Fort Myers

OMG! after relocating from the north, it was very difficult finding a good Italian deli/market and restaurant. Well, A Touch of Italy is all this in one!! They make their own pasta, which I can attest the ravioli and their sauce is delicious. The sauce is not a heavy nor spicy sauce, just right and I found a couple of nice pieces of garlic in there as well. The sausage is home made, I bought some hot sausage and was not disappointed. They make all their own foods. Back home, we had an Italian bakery that made a rum cake that was out of this world. A Touch of Italy’s brought those memories back. Nice rum flavor, creamy pudding and a little soggy on the bottom!! I can’t say enough about this place. They even have a small restaurant that you can eat there. They have a great deli, and fresh meat, cheeses, frozen pasta, dough, and the list goes on and on. I have found my new happy place!!

Tap and Handle – Menu with Prices – 307 S College Ave, Fort Collins

Beware! Check your ticket closely. This was our first visit and will be our last. We stopped in during happy hour. 1/2 off small bite appetizers and $1 off draft beers and wine. Waiter said they had a gluten free beer, so we ordered two. He came back after a while and said, sorry, no gluten free beer, so we ordered a cider and a draft beer. We also ordered an appetizer. We finally got a chance to order our burgers. I wonder why anyone asks how you want your meat cooked, when they are going to cook it and serve it the way they want to anyway? After all this, it was over an hour, we needed to leave and I had to track down the waiter for our ticket. I glanced at the ticket, gave him the money, waited for my change. I felt like it was too much, but we were running a half hour late because they took so long. We looked at our ticket after we left. He charged us for 2 gluten free beers they didn’t have AND full price for the happy hour appetizer!!!! We were over charged nearly $15!! There was no time to go back and have them fix it. There menu items are already over priced, then to get ripped off for something we never even received.

Fehrenbacher’s Artisan Sausage – Menu with Prices – 411 SW 4th Ave, Gainesville

I’d call Fehrenbacher’s Artisan Sausage a Hidden Gem. Not so much because it’s hidden, more because it’s unassuming. From the outside it looks like a sausage butcher which is exactly what it is but here’s where I touch on the unassuming part. Fehrenbacher’s Artisan Sausage is exciting! It’s an exciting addition to Gainesville which, let’s be honest, has a weak foodie scene. There is a small menu posted up front which does change. A mainstay on the menu is the Sausage Sandwich which my husband got. I ordered the Anthony Soprano Flatbread. Truth be told, I’m not a big sausage fan. I usually only eat it on pizza. But that Sausage Sandwich was so tasty I would order one for myself next time. I am also not a huge fan of salami; I ordered the salami flatbread as a safe alternative to sausage. It was delicious! I was beyond impressed by the fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the food so much we ordered some to take home and cook ourselves. We got NY strip steak, Italian sausage, and a rosemary lamb sausage. The steak was phenomenal (thanks to my gourmet cook of a husband) and the lamb sausage was great too but we weren’t fans of the Italian sausage. We both can’t wait to go back. Here’s what I didn’t like about Fehrenbacher’s: it is super small inside and when it gets crowded, it’s downright claustrophobic. Bad enough that I had to go outside while we waited for our order. Now back to the good: the outdoor seating more than makes up for the lack of space inside. The outdoor seating is the biggest I’ve seen of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. There were even games, so bring the kids.

The Public House by Evans Brewing Co – Menu with Prices – 138 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton

Came here with a group of 5 for a quick happy hour, after work. This location is relatively close to the main parking structure which was great for our group to meet up. We came in at around 5:30 and there was plenty of seating and not very busy for a Thursday. The waitress sat us down quickly and set our table up while the rest of our group arrived. Since it was around dinner time, we were all very hungry and decided to order the wings, pork sliders, pulled pork nachos, and the brew-b-q pizza to share. Each order of wings come with 6, and since they were relatively small, we decided to order 3 of the happy hour wings. Even though we only ordered 3 they were very considerate to spread the wings out into 4 separate plates which made sharing a lot easier. The wings were well cooked and glazed in a good amount of sauce. The ranch dipping sauce was extremely thin and watery and did not taste like ranch at-all. I would highly recommend opting for the blue cheese dressing instead. As for the pork sliders, it came with an order of three and although I did not actually try them everyone said they were very tasty and very filling. Let me start by saying I am a nacho enthusiast, and I love a good stack of nachos with all the fixings. The nachos did have a good amount of fixings on top of them, nacho cheese, sour cream, pickled jalapenos, the pulled pork, and cotija cheese, but I felt as if all they were very sauce heavy and lacked a good crunch to the chips. Regardless, for the price they were decent. Again, I did not get to try the brew-b-q pizza but by the looks of it, it looked more like a small flatbread pizza. We were shocked since the waitress described the pizza as being “pretty big”. However, the rest of the group did say the pizza was decent. To drink we all ordered the happy hour beer and shot combo. I like that they let me switch out the bourbon for tequila since I am not a big fan of bourbon. On an empty stomach, this was all I needed to feel the alcohol quickly. The beer itself was tasty, the type of beer you should not sip and instead just chug to get the full taste. Overall, for a happy hour, I felt the food and drinks were decently priced and would recommend starting off a night.

Raw Bar by Slapfish – Menu with Prices – 19694 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

Came here for the happy hour of course and left with not really thinking I’m going to come back. The happy hour menu and price changes every 30 minutes starting at 4pm until 6pm. We came at 4pm so everything was $4 on the happy hour menu. The service here was below average, their was only one server running around and when the restaurant started to get a little filled up, you could see her getting stressed out. Food would come out at random times, we ordered a lobster toast that we had to continue asking about and ended up asking for the check before our toast even came out. For the food, we got 2 lobster toasts, 2 fish and chips, 8 oysters, and the steamed clams. The lobster toast was basically a slice of bread toasted with lobster meat, delicious and in my opinion the most fairly priced item. The meat was seasoned perfectly with a nice sauce as well. The fish and chips were pretty good, the fries were a nice fry but the beer battered fish stole the show. Each order comes with 1 fish and a small handful of fries so I’m not sure if $4 is worth it for this item. The oysters were highly disappointing, orders come in 4 and when we got there they were offering F.P. And Paradise oysters. Both were very milky, and not oysters I would want again. The clams were not apart of happy hour but we got them anyway, they aren’t very big but you do get a lot. They were decent, cooked in white wine with garlic and fennel. Not something I would get again. Overall the $4 happy hour is a smart idea but the dishes are quite small so to really fill up, you gotta spend a lot more than you would think.

Banded Oak Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 470 Broadway, Denver

I hate to be a brewery bummer as I know how much love every brewery/beer is made with, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Was it bad? Certainly not, but in Colorado, you’ve got to be fantastic to hang! It was a chilly afternoon so we were inside the small unremarkable taproom. The beer was fine- I had the porter and my friend had the saison, but nothing I’m craving/remembering later. The guy who was pouring was plenty friendly. I appreciated the $1 off for happy hour. Maybe I’d like this place more if the weather was good and the patio was open and there were more people or live music or something. I do appreciate that there’s a parking lot, so if you just wanna quick drink before dinner that’s helpful. If you’re doing a brewery tour of Broadway you might stop here, but there are many more unique spots (both in atmosphere and brews) along this street.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2711 Elm St, Erie

ended up walking out of Walmart today. I go in there to get sugar free French vanilla creamer and they have absolutely none but their own brand. And I say well and move on and look for spaghetti. Everyone else’s brand was much higher than Walmart’s brand and even higher than supermarket stores around Walmart. So I say forget that one as well. I move on and go look for alcohol pads. I get over there again no other brand except Walmart brand available. Walmart brand alcohol pads are no good additionally it was a very small box for the price. So I walked out. It’s come to the point where they push all of their stuff at a normal price and higher all of the name brands so you feel pressured to buy theirs in order to save money.

Green Flash Brewhouse & Taproom – Menu with Prices – 1630 P St, Lincoln

Amazing food and a wide variety of craft beer to choose from. Staff was, by and large, very friendly and made me feel welcome. I tried the short rib ragu, and it was stellar ! Handmade pasta with tender short rib meat and a subtle, flavorful sauce. The fresh sprigs of oregano were a very nice touch. Food is affordable, and the space itself is very well-designed and comfortable. Can’t wait to try other menu items. I would have to agree with one of the other reviewers that the beer was a bit too chilled to let the flavors come through. My other criticism is that they could be quicker to greet customers when they first enter the door and come to the bar. I think the fact that Green Flash is known for both its beer and its food gives it a bit of a split personality. Perhaps some better organization of staff duties and roles would correct this (I see some of the other reviews mention that uneven service-would be nice to see this ironed out) That being said, it is a minor concern and this place deserves to be packed every night !

The FlipSide – Menu with Prices – 6844 NW 169th St, Hialeah

You want some drafted crafty beer in Hialeah Beach? Look no further… it holds it weight & although it’s connected to the bend, it’s a completely different atmosphere. I’m talking Belgians, spicy little saisons, obscure micro brews, and rare bottled finds. The love for beer is a culture that has widespread amongst every major city but Hialeah stands it ground with this establishment which proves artisanal beer is not only intended for hipsters. There’s parking, cool people, and shots sold alongside your beer for an overall satisfactory drinking experience. Make your way over to The Bend & you’ll get to soak up all their crafted cocktails as well. It’s nice to see that my hometown finally has a high end watering hole that still keeps it real with an appealing happy hour. On Wednesday’s there’s trivia but you’ll have to cross to the other side to do so. Beerheadz unite here so it’s a def a place to hit up in you’re in Hialeah Beach & you want a smooth brew.
