This is the best Middle Eastern food I’ve found in Brooklyn! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious – it was hard to choose a favorite. We ordered: -A custom plate with original babaghanoj, tabouleh, foul, grape leaves, and mohhammarah (came with 1 pita) -Fatoosh salad -Falafel sandwich -Olive salad -Spinach pie The spinach pie came with a nice little salad and pickles on the side and extra hot sauces and tahini came with everything. I also love lemon and almost every dish came with lemon slices on top of it. I called to check about vegan options and they were very kind in answering my questions. The fatoosh and mohhammarah were probably my favorites, while the baba was my partner’s. Regardless, we’d want to eat them all again and try more of the menu! The prices are extremely reasonable as well. We will definitely continue to crave and order this food and hope to stop by in-person, too!

Nice Slice Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 767 Westminster St, Providence

My husband called and asked what were the options for vegan slices already made. They told him buffalo, bbq and space something (can’t remember). So he goes and tells the guy 2 bbq and 1 buffalo vegan. The guy ends up giving my husband 3 bbq bacon slices, not even vegan. He didn’t notice till he got home. Then when I called, the girl said “are you sure he said vegan? Maybe it was a miscommunication.” Um no, what kind of half butt apology is that? I wasn’t nor was my husband going to drive out again. And I always go there! I’ve ordered for special occasions and ate their with my family a few times even when they were on Thayer. I wouldn’t waste my time with this review but the way she handled the situation, nah you don’t do that. Messed up. Sorry but you lost a customer.

Green Pear Heights – Menu with Prices – 93 Franklin St, Jersey City

I’m not sure if I’d classify this restaurant as Italian because they serve kebabs and pierogis. Perhaps that’s the food snob deep within in my soul. Your call. VEGAN OPTIONS! A lot of the new establishments that have been popping up in the Heights & Heights adjacent either have a very weak vegan option or none at all. No, I don’t want to eat your half-cooked veggie burger with soggy fries. Give me something more. Green Pear has done exactly that. Spinach gnocchi is the staple vegan dish here but they’ll happily veganize the spinach & ricotta ravioli. If you’re lucky like me your ravioli will contain spinach and mushrooms. I believe the spinach and broccoli pierogi is vegan as is but don’t quote me on that. Everything is fresh, and I mean FRESH, so you know your money is going far. I haven’t had any dessert (yet!) but the coffee is delicious here.

Zambra Fusion Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6062 Holly Rd Suite B-6, Corpus Christi

This is so good!! I am from San Antonio where there are a lot of vegan options. I was in town visiting and came here for lunch and there were so many vegan options. The meal I got was a salad bowl and it was full of flavor and I couldn’t finish it because it was definitely filling. They also have vegan bakery items like cookies. I highly suggest going. There are also meat eating options for those who eat that. I was with a meat eater and he got a pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it. Check it out and support local

Living Vine Organic Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1400 Colonial Blvd #59, Fort Myers

I looked this place up because I was looking for restaurants with healthy choices in Fort Myers. First of all, we really liked the “look” of the café. It’s quite colorful, clean and simply very pretty. The service was very friendly and happy to help us. Also with any questions we had concerning the menu. The menu offers choices for everyone: vegans, vegetarians as well as carnivores. We decided to go with a spinach artichoke Sandwich, the lunch special the “spinach salad bowl” and the falafel salad. My mum and I shared the bowl and the salad and it was very fresh and delicious. My dad was thrilled with the taste of his sandwich as well. After that my parents got a coffee which was very tasty, too. We are very happy that we found that place and I can really recommend going there. Especially if you are looking for fresh food and a menu with healthy options.

Crumbville, TX – Menu with Prices – 2316 Elgin St, Houston

If you’re looking for great vegan pastries, this is absolutely the BEST place to go in Houston. There are plenty of options and they’re all super tasty. Not to mention, the shop owner was very kind, helpful, and down to earth (she immediately greeted me with a hug upon entering). I tried one of the vegan cupcakes (lemon, gingersnap) & absolutely loved it. Her cookies are also to die for (I tried peanut butter & oatmeal craisin and I recommend both, especially peanut butter). She provides cookie samples, which I loved. Everything was very moist and tasted very fresh and amazing. I’m still craving the cookies days later…. lol Most of the vegan stuff was sold out by the time I arrived, so its better to get there earlier rather than late afternoon. My only hope is that she begins to sell more gluten free + vegan items. I am converting over to gluten free soon and am hoping to find more options w/in that realm.

Bekâ??s Nizza Pizza Menu with Prices 965 W Lamar Blvd, Arlington

I came here with a friend for the first time and we ordered 2 single slices each and 2 different salads. It was enough for both of us since the slices are huge. Pizza slices: supreme, cheese, veggie lover(2) Salad: house salad and Nizza salad What I can say about our first experience is this: -interior was very cute -owner is kind -price was very affordable-slices we’re big, NY style -salad had amazing house vinaigrette but I would go with the house salad-it has more variety. The Nizza salad had a whole lot of mushrooms and cheese -store has a lot of delivery/Togo orders 3stars: -supreme pizza did not taste like a supreme. It was salty and dry -salad was a little disappointing but I expected a lot more variety in the salad -I’ve tasted better pizza for the same price -I wouldn’t be back if I craved pizza

Frosty Boy Grand Rapids – Menu with Prices – 1757 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids

We come here pretty often- we live close enough to ride bike. I am always impressed by the variety and size of everything we order from frosty boy! My sister is vegan and I love that I can bring her here and she can get many different options. Great service even though it is often busy! Peak times are usually late night and evening so come in the afternoon if you are not willing to wait in line. My favorites? Lemon twist cone and the allergen flurry. And always hot fudge on top! ? but i also love to try the rotating flavors and add in options. Last time I got puppy chow- super fun options! Totally dog friendly- there are always a few waiting in line with us. We will miss them when they close for the season!

Raw Eatery and Market – Menu with Prices – 1145 Kensington Crescent NW #2, Calgary

Located in Kensington, the place is a little difficult to spot at first. But after your first visit, you won’t forget! Parking is difficult around here but is just the typical Kensington/downtown parking situation. Street parking available at a fee during the week but free after 6pm and on Sundays! Once you go down the stairs and enter the cafe, the feel for the space is very homey; I personally like the different tables and chairs throughout the space. The cute little table and chairs on the patio were a nice touch too. Menus are available at the front but everyone working here is so approachable and friendly; they can easily make a recommendation for you or answer any questions you may have about the ingredients list, etc. I’ve tried a handful of dishes here including the tacos, the zucchini thai, the pesto salad, the kale salad, the sourdough… EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS. I love that this place exists cause honestly, Calgary doesn’t have enough options for vegan restaurants/cafes. They also have desserts that seem to change on the regular! On top of all their amazing food, they carry products from other local companies like kombucha and chocolates.. ? If you need help picking a menu item, FOR SURE pick the tacos – they are my personal fav, and the girl told me that they are also the most popular dish there. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the menu items though, and I can’t wait to go back to try more and to one day have tried the entire menu…. Overall I LOVE THIS PLACE. Delicious, healthy, affordable and VEGAN! Still a good place to eat even if you’re not vegan, so please check this place out if you’re on the fence and you won’t regret it!

Aria at Saint Kate – Menu with Prices – 139 E Kilbourn Ave, Milwaukee

Oh man, I *really* wish this place was better than it is. Aria Cafe is located in the newly opened Saint Kate hotel, right across the street from the Marcus Theater. It’s up on the second floor and has a cute little champagne bar next to it called Giggly. As far as ambiance goes, Aria is great. Very new, modern, clean, and inviting. Saint Kate markets itself as an “art hotel” and there is certainly no shortage of gorgeous artwork around both the hotel and the restaurants. My friend and I started out by looking through the menu for Giggly, which offers a wide selection of champagne choices, ranging from sweet dessert champagnes all the way to very dry ones. I selected a rose champagne (which I didn’t even know was a thing!) and my friend got a dry. We both VERY much enjoyed our drinks. Honestly, if we had just come for the champagne this review would probably be 5 stars. Unfortunately, we decided to eat. We only had about an hour until our show started at the Marcus, so we decided to just get a few appetizers. Luckily for us, this turned out to be a very smart decision. We ordered the Caramelized Brussels, Feta & Artichoke Dip, and the Caprese Salad (because, you know…burrata). In spite of the fact that we only ordered apps, our food still took nearly 40 minutes to come out. Luckily our server was very friendly, which made the wait slightly more bearable. When the food came out, it all looked quite good. However… I will discuss the dishes in order from least to most offensive. The Caramelized Brussels was definitely the best. Good flavors, on par with other versions of this dish that I’ve had. They added lemon zest, which was a nice touch. However, the brussels were 90% single sprout leaves. There were VERY few actual “chunks” of brussels sprouts. And as the brussels had been caramelized, these thin slices were very cooked and barely tasted like brussel sprouts at all. Moving on to the caprese salad. The salad literally had 4 ingredients: lettuce, tomato chunks, burrata balls, and olive oil. There was nothing inherently *wrong* with this dish. It was just so, so plain and flavorless. And it cost $13! And the burrata chunks were mediocre! I was so offended that I had to pay so much for the world’s most boring version of a caprese salad. Finally, we come to the Feta & Artichoke dip. Here’s where things really went off the deep end. This dish was bad. Like actually bad. Like tasted literally like that creamed spinach baby food. There was ZERO flavor. It was creamy, flavorless spinach goop and I hated it. I’ve never been so disappointed in a spinach-based dish in my life. Look, I’m not unreasonable. I’m willing to give Aria another chance. I really did enjoy the vibe of the place as a whole. But something is going to have to change dramatically in the kitchen for me to change my rating to anything higher than a (VERY generous) 3 stars. Bottom Line: Location and champagne = 5 stars. Food = 1 star.

Pita Mediterranean Street Food- Augusta Menu with Prices 630 Crane Creek Dr ste 102, Augusta

Amazing service and okay food. I’ll definitely be back. I came here today around 1pm for lunch. I was pretty excited to check this place out because I love Mediterranean food and there aren’t many options for good Mediterranean food in Augusta. PROS: Fantastic customer service. The whole staff welcomes customers into the restaurant. The cashier has a good grasp of the menu; he made great recommendations and answered all of the questions I had about the menu and dishes. The manager was very involved. He was walking from table to table, making sure all the customers were happy, helping the kitchen staff, and he was helping run food to tables. Reasonable prices. A street pita, which comes with the sandwich and a side, ranges from $8.45-8.95. Appetizers were also decently priced from $4.99-6.25. A street pita with its side is definitely enough food for one person. But, there are so many options that you’ll probably be ordering more than a street pita. CONS: Slow cook time. It took just over 20 minutes for my food to be prepared. The restaurant was pretty busy but I still expected my food to come out a little bit faster. I’m assuming the kitchen was backed up since the restaurant is still relatively new and trying to get into a good rhythm. The preparation of the food: I had the falafel appetizer, a side of baba ghanoush, and a the chicken shawarma street pita. For the falafel and the street pita, the flavor was all there! I really enjoyed the way those two dishes tasted. However, I took my food to go, and the falafel was plated on a bed of lettuce and other vegetables and covered with sauce. By the time I got home (an 8 minute drive) the falafel was soggy. Falafel is supposed to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also, one of my falafel was cut in half and re-fried so it was pretty over cooked. I think I would have liked the dish a lot more if the lettuce bed wasn’t so wet and if the sauce came on the side; the falafel would have stayed crispy. The chicken shawarma pita tasted great too. The chicken was well seasoned and it’s cooked on a vertical, rotating broiler which is pretty traditional for this kind of a restaurant. However, the chicken was over-cooked; it was dry and tough. Also, the side of grilled vegetables was a little small and very bland. The vegetables were zucchini and carrots but they weren’t seasoned at all. I didn’t even taste any salt which is usually the bare minimum. This dish would have been awesome if they had cooked the chicken a little less and if they had seasoned the vegetables a little bit. I will say that the baba ghanoush was awesome! I love baba ghanoush and PIta’s tasted great. Overall, I was a little bit disappointed with the quality of the food. But, their customer service is awesome and they are a new restaurant so I’m sure they are still working on finding their grove. I will definitely be back and I look forward to trying their food again.

Cedar Fresh Market – Menu with Prices – 5464 Monroe St, Toledo

The only reason this even deserves one star is for their hummus. After giving this place multiple chances ever since Ali Baba bought it, I have given up. The service is HORRIBLE. this first time going in there the woman at the deli counter was on her personal phone and when I walked to the order, she looked at me and turned her back while continuing to talk on the phone. After waiting for about four minutes someone else took my order. When I got my food I found two short black hairs on my plate, they said they would make it right so I came back a third time. Giving them another chance for the third time, I was greeted by three men pointing their fingers and laughing at me. Being hungry I stayed and order hummus with veggies. The woman working the counter asked if I meant a salad, I said no I would like tomatoes, onions and cucumbers to dip in the hummus. She then told me they didn’t have that. How does a Mediterranean market not have those key ingredients, especially when fatoosh is on the menu. I will find a better bakery to go to that will treat their loyal and new customers with a better service.

Lowrider Cafe – Menu with Prices – 316 N Michigan St, Toledo

It was a fun time during the opening day here. The Mariachi band was great. The atmosphere made for happy eating. The food that we got was excellent. However, the main dish we ordered (the tamales platter) they could not deliver. The service was friendly but very chaotic. It is likely, due to the tastiness of the vegan taco we received, that a future review will bump the rating up to four from three. Only time will tell once the restaurant is running smoothly. The Horchata was made with sugar rather than the traditional honey. . Also, if you are vegetarian or vegan, make certain the rice and the beans are also. Even though they have vegan options on the menu, that did not mean that the sides included were so. Check it out before you order.. When we return we will update this review to reflect how they are once they settle in.
