I love food carts and given the opportunity, I’m always going to check them out. I’m a pretty adventurous eater and the food cart scene fills the gap in our town of great restaurants, but a little short on variety. The Podski is the latest food cart pod, six carts, plus a beer hut. The carts offered a pretty great variety of options. We tried two of the six carts, (one was closed) and thought the food was decent, some better than others. I was a little disappointed that there are only 6 beers on tap and there was only one local brewery represented. That said, it was a Worthy IRA, so thumbs up for that one. They also offer wine, beer in cans and I’m guessing Kombucha (although Kombucha is never on my radar). Seating is casual, shared picnic tables. There is some sort of sun shade over the area. I’m not a huge fan of this style of seating, I’m six feet tall and it’s a long drop to the bench. I did like the vibe, great combination of locals, out of towners, lots of kids and a couple of dogs – great by me. I was concerned that parking would be a problem, but not the case. They have a little lot and were found a spot right away on the street. While I’m a fan, I’m not going out of my way to stop by here again.

Beehive Taphouse – Menu with Prices – 1510 Fabry Rd SE, Salem

This food cart station is a nice addition to the variety available in Salem. There are a wide range of options but each cart has it niche. You must turn at the light to get to the parking lot unless you’re coming from the neighborhood behind the station. There were plenty of open spots though it just started to get crowded when we arrived. We chose to sample several carts for our first time. The stuffed vine leaves for $3 were spot on, and a steal!! The pad Thai food from Lottie’s Pad Thai well done and only $8 *note she doesn’t have an intercom to shout out orders, though she tries to yell, so it’s best to check back for your dish. The taco box for $9 was fantastic and absolutely delicious, definitely a repeat. (too good to remember a pic) The chopped brisket combo for $14 from Cindy Lou’s was tasty and hit the spot. There is something for everyone without a doubt. We tapped out at full from the sampler but look forward to try the ice cream or boba or bake Tater or super teriyaki. There is also a bee hive tap house by the pad Thai though we did let try. Each seating area is provided by each cart though it’s first come first serve to sit anywhere. The best kept secret are the heaters by the tap house but not necessary in the summer. There were games and faux grass area to play/picnic. Though several carts were surprisingly closed so it can be hit or miss. Menus are subject to change and hours vary among carts. But definitely worth checking out.

Brown’s Basics Bakery and Eatery Menu with Prices 444 SE 9th St, Bend

Oh boy guys, this food cart is fantastic! Charlie (Brown) is such a sweetheart. She made a “kitchen sink” style Breakfast Burrito for my best buddy and I this morning. Sooo good, fresh veggies, sausage, bacon, really yummy yellow peppers in there, so fresh. Sides were griddled brown, probably on a panini press. This burrito was AWESOME!!! Oh and she gives you a free cookie of the day! Today was Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and the cookie was very good, you can tell it was home baked. The cart is a little off the beaten path, but it’s just adorable. Baby blue with nice seating options and shade. Also, she’s right next to a YUMMY coffee cart, had a DELICIOUS coffee smoothie there. So good, I’ll be back, often and a lot.

Oak Quarry Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 7151 Sierra Ave, Riverside

I’ve played this course multiple times and the only reason I have gone back is because the course is great to play! Challenging but fair to play! How ever my experience there with the staff is horrible! We played last on Sunday June 9th and the weather was over 100 degrees! Upon arrival we see the bag drop cart dropping off and picking people up! While we put on our shoes we see the cart drive by multiple times yet never approach us! We wait for an extra 10 minutes to see if they come which we are clearly visible but they seem very much interested in their conversation. We carry our bags to the clubhouse and yet do they offer to get our bags and put them on the golf cart! We check in and the staff is very friendly until it’s our turn to check in! Clearly no interest to help until I asked if I could be checked in and even that was excessive because the gentlemen had to eye roll me while I asked! We were there early to hit the range and warm up and not once was I told it was closed! All I was told was there was no cart lady and that I should bring my own beverages! When I asked about ice he said ask at the bar! But it being over 100 degrees one small cup of ice was not going to cut it! So I assumed the 9th hole clubhouse would be open! Yet it wasn’t and was never told! When I pay and finally walk out my bags are still out so I carry them to the area where the carts are at and ask if I can load them on any cart! They asked rudely what tee time I had and said it and just turned and kept talking! I stood there for about 10 minutes until I asked again and they said oh we don’t have any carts your cart is on the 18th hole tee box! And then turned and kept talking to his coworkers! Yet a girl walks up and asked for a cart and told her to pick from any that were parked! Which there was about 4 of them to pick from! We walked away carried our bags and went to the shade! I have never felt so disrespected and more disappointed in a course than that day! My girlfriend looked at me and said I thought you said this course was amazing! We waited for 20 plus minutes, and I remind you we wanted to hit the range which was closed but we were not told or aware and got our golf cart which we again had to load our own clubs 2 minutes from our tee time! No ice in the ice chest in a 100 plus degree weather! And when we asked for ice they were upset because of it! You know for the price you pay to play this course you’d expect great customer service and not feel like you’re being profiled! For this price you’re better off driving and extra 45 minutes and play at any PGA West course! At least there they don’t make you feel Unwelcomed! I can easily say I felt racism because other guest who were not my race were being treated and assisted with care and the employees were very attentive with them! Very disappointed due to the fact the course is very enjoyable but with the lack of respect by the employees how much can you enjoy playing a course where you know you’re not welcomed!

Mediterranean Halal Food Menu with Prices 2 Hopkins Pl, Baltimore

I know. one look at the pic you’re automatically thinking: Holy shit. That is one messy ass meal. And, you’re probably right, so be careful while eating it, but damn me if it’s messy, the food was absolutely great. When I think of food carts back then, I automatically think of what… yep. Hot Dogs. Nowadays, you have some amazing food coming out of food carts, and Mediterranean Halal Food Cart is one of those places. Why you may ask? First, the amount of food is absolutely enormous. Look at what I got. Yeah, and then add on top the price of what it all was? I would be coming here almost every day if I worked here, but sadly I don’t. I was here for work, and this was the only day that I was going to be in Baltimore. I got lunch and then went back to work, but it was absolutely great. I got a salad along with a gyro, and it was just stacked. The location of the cart was great, and at the same time it was quick. This place is an obvious grab and go type of food and it shouldn’t change. Not much else to it. It’s great food with amazing flavors and it’s very filling. I would suggest to order one thing, as I ordered two things and it was a bit too much (I still finished though, regretting when I exercised it off later on though!)

Walmart Bakery Menu with Prices 7251 Arden Rd, Amarillo

Trying to shop at Market Street Georgia Street location is a real challenge. Yesterday I waited for over 45 minutes for a cart I could use and finally simply left in exasperation. The shopping carts are impossible, most are the giant 18 wheeler impression heavy type you can’t see over to push, there are about 225 plus sitting idle no one wants the hassle. Do they think that if you have a massive one you will put more in it? guess again the small ones hold about the same. The medium one is a bit better but still not all that great, about 120 sit idle, others did come in and out, while I was waiting I counted them….I was sitting on an electric cart one of many seldom used, people are mean to you if you do…… Originally there were nice sized smaller carts you could manipulate with a handy tray top, excellent shopping cart and size, there were very few originally, now there appears to be one warped one available, the bag boys told me there is 4 for the whole store. This is insane market ploy, bigger carts do not mean the customer can afford to put more in there…who chose them The Jolly Green Giant ? While I’m here, no one likes the MONOPOLY game, people will try to give you their tickets as you come in the door they are going out…it’s abusive to most if you try to play, you could also weaken your eye site… Rewards complicated program their kidding here ?? impossible to get any benefit actually. And the new Starbucks Coffee bitter expensive and totally a mess, The coffee area before they changed was 100 % better it was even comfortable. . Bruneau’s South Philly Cuisine | Food Cart & Catering Menu with Prices 103 NW Oregon Ave, Bend

Been to this cart before, and have had great experiences. But on a recent First Fridays, had the saddest cheesesteak ever. I’m from north of Philly and know my way around one; this one was in desperate need of meat (see photos, undoctored!). I know they’ve had some troubles lately and have a baby on the way, but $10 for a small sandwich with a sorry amount of meat is not the way to keep customers. There are now other cheesesteak carts in Bend, one in particular offers a huge cheesesteak with plenty of meat for $11.

Black Dog on The Square – Menu with Prices – 567 Industrial Dr, Tallahassee

Black dog is absolutely amazing in all aspects possible. The owner is the sweetest lady ever that makes great conversation. Bring your pup and get a treat for him/her. If you get the chance to go and they happen to have their ginger beer kombucha, do yourself a favor and get it. This is by far my favorite kombucha ever and I wish it was a permanent menu item. Aside from their life changing kombucha they have amazing goodies. They have small lunch items, pastries, popsicles. They have it all. They are super vegan friendly as well. They have an assortment of alternative milks and vegan goodies. The baristas are so sweet and give great recommendations if you ask. Black dog is a great place to meet up with friends or study. They have wonderful patio seating and offer free WiFi. Black dog is by far one of my favorite coffee shops in town.

TPC Treviso Bay – Menu with Prices – 9800 Treviso Bay Blvd, Naples

Pro V1 practice balls at the driving range. The entire course, plus the practice facility, was super lush and green. Putting surfaces on the greens were in great shape with very few ball marks, although some weak spots were observed on the perimeter and outside collars. GPS distances via Android tablets in the golf carts. Interactive hole maps to determine layup distances on par 5s and trouble spots on par 4s on tee off and approach shots. Ice contained in the on-board cooler. Full service bathroom structures as well as water coolers in between. Towel included in golf cart. Did not see a beer-cart boy/girl/woman/man. Would absolutely play here again. Pace of play, two-some, 18 holes, under 4 hours with one group letting us play through. Overall excellent course, beautiful scenery, would absolutely play here again.

The Grumpy Monk Carolina Forest – Menu with Prices – 4545 US-501, Myrtle Beach

We tried this place because it was pet friendly. We sat outside with our dog, you have a choice between picnic tables or regular tables. We are not fans of Picnic tables so we choose a regular table. They have bowls of water under the picnic tables for your dogs. I had the fried green tomatoes for and appetizer and it was really good. So big that I could only eat half. My husband had the Queso dip and it was also very good. I had the the fried fish sandwich for my dinner and it was excellent. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich and said it was really good. Service was great as well as the food. We will definitely come back next time we are here.

Piknik Park Food Cart Pod – Menu with Prices – 1122 SE Tacoma St, Portland

One of my favorite pods! I love the selection of diverse food carts here ranging from Asian, vegan, hearty meat dishes, smoothies, and even some booze. The Vegan Grub is my favorite! The buffalo and bbq wings really hit the spot. I’ve never had wings sooo finger lickin’ good! They can do 1/2 and 1/2 if you ask. I wasn’t a fan of the cashew mac and cheese. It was really bland and tasted off. The Dive Bar is great and I got a Mimosa. You can beer, wine, and cider here too. The Straits of Malaysia has a lot of unique dishes. The Vegan Stirfry has nice flavor with seasoned tofu and a heap of veggies – bean sprouts, peppers, cabbage, scallions – tossed in spicy coconut sauce on a large bed of rice. Very hearty! There are a few other carts that offer tacos, smoothies, and savory meat dishes. Great variety with many crowd-pleasing options, good for groups and picky-eaters.

New Realm Brewing – Menu with Prices – 1209 Craft Ln, Virginia Beach

So, I am absolutely up front about the fact that I’m much more of a wine person than a beer person, but I do enjoy the ambiance of a good local brewery from time to time. Some friends and I decided to go check this place out on a Friday night. First of all, it’s HUGE. Like WAY bigger than most breweries I’ve been to around here. And apparently, that’s because they aren’t exactly “local” entirely — so, there’s that. They have a massive space with indoor seating, and outdoor patio with fire pits, and a large yard area that was literally covered with children and puppies. Live music on the patio was a great touch for a nice evening. They sport a variety of bar-food kinds of options, but I’d eaten dinner before hand so only did the beers. I opted for the flight so I could try several different ones. It came with 6 and ran about $15. Of the six, here’s my rundown: 1) Oxaca Choca – BY FAR my favorite. A really excellent stout that was yummy and insanely drinkable. 2) Blissful Monk – a red ale that was just sort of alright for me – nothing to write home about. 3) Belgian Prince – one of their Octoberfest offerings, I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It’s lighter style and had a lot of flavor. 4) Belgian King – the other Octoberfest offering. This one was the more bitter, biting style that isn’t really my speed. 5) Commissioner – a light Belgian style ale that wasn’t bad, certainly drinkable. 6) Phantasia Kolsh – not a big fan of this one. The balance was off to me, so it was hard getting most of it down. So — three of the six were drinkable, and of the three good ones, only one really knocked my socks off. But again, I’m not primarily a beer drinker, so maybe I’m being too harsh. I would, however, go here again JUST for that stout. So that’s a possibility. Overall, a decent experience that is probably 3 1/2 stars for me that I bumped up to 4 for the ambiance.

Ghost Runners Brewery and Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 4216 NE Minnehaha St #108, Vancouver

Nice small local brewery! The gentleman manning the bar was helpful in answering our questions about their offerings and making suggestions, plus you can have a little sample before committing to buy a pint. They have a really good variety of beers as well and at least one cider when we visited. They have a few picnic tables outside, along with a few tables & hightops inside, in addition to seating at the counter bar. For entertainment, they have some board games to play, a ping pong table and a dart board. There may have been a TV as well, but I don’t recall for certain. The inside was immaculately clean, too. They don’t have their own food, but there was a food truck there on the Friday night we visited. I’d check with the location or their website to see when a food truck is there & which one it will be, if that really matters to you. The only negative the Hubs and I had with the place is their choice in music. It was a bit too millennial-pop for us…does that mean we are getting old?? ? We like a huge variety of music, but we were not fans of the stuff they had on that Friday night. And based on the other patrons that were there that night (and yes, their ages, as half were definitely older than us and the others were much younger), I don’t think it was their kind of tunes either. But maybe it was just that night, or maybe we are really just getting old.
