Amazing food, above and beyond service, really great music, and super. Only problem is the distance (we are from Downey). When we got there we were politely told there was a wait time of 30 minutes. That was fine with us- we’d driven specifically to Garden Grove to try this place out after seeing the Yelp reviews. We told her we would wait outside, and she went out of her way to ask if we wanted coffees (in to-go cups) to drink while we waited. We gladly accepted! The wait time did last about 30 minutes. When we were called in, the staff inside, including the manager and both waitresses, were so friendly. polite, and helpful. We were even offered hazelnut coffee (which had just been brewed) along with (after we’d mentioned we’re vegan) almond milk for creamer(!) which we again gratefully accepted. They have a great vegan menu in addition to omnivorous stuff. We ordered the Vegan Hash Browns, Sam’s Vegan Breakfast Burrito, and the Tofu Scramble. All were VERY good. Our family of 3 split a little bit of everything. The prices are great! It’s hard to eat out vegan-wise on a budget. The service was unlike I have had in a long time. Those waitresses and the manager were ON IT! We were well-tended to. The ambience was really cool and comfortable. They were playing a great playlist of jazz covers of 80’s till today. I asked one of the waitresses about it, and the manager kindly came over to talk to our table about the playlist. It was very nice and very cool. The place was very busy with groups of people waiting outside the door. Hopefully they expand soon (into the 562!). Next time we come, we are looking forward to the Vegan Chilaquiles and the Vegan Melt Sandwich. We will definitely be back. ?

The Meridia Apartments – Menu with Prices – 522 S Boston Ave, Tulsa

This place is a vegan dream. My wife and I (both vegan) have been for dinner and brunch (in under 24 hours) here. Brunch was my favourite. Dinner was great but having another spot in Tulsa with substantial vegan options beyond smoothies, granola, and oatmeal is RAD. On each menu, there were plenty of vegan options and the menu helpfully has all of that labeled on it, making for an easy ordering experience. For dinner I had the jackfruit al pastor with the coconut corn chowder. Both were awesome. The wife had Korean cauliflower banh mi with the twister fries. Her choice was also tasty. The cocktail I had was awesome, it was a Local Bison variation on a Manhattan. We ordered the fried green tomatoes & beer battered onion rings and, again, excellent. Fried up just right, crispy and delicious without being greasy– omnomnom indeed. For brunch I had the biscuits and gravy with tempeh snausage and a tofu scramble. The gravy was excellent, creamy tasty, rich, it was done to perfection. The tempeh snausage was spiced just right, it was so good. The tofu scramble here is now in the top tofu scrambles I’ve had. It was awesome. My wife got the breakfast burrito. She liked it a lot. I tried the salsa and it was super tasty. Vegans, go here now! The food is so good, the service is great, the cocktails are awesome. Just a side note, our omni friends who’ve been also report liking the non-vegan stuff.

Green Sage Cafe Merrimon Menu with Prices 633A Merrimon Ave, Asheville

Was really looking forward to checking out the new green sage for its bigger menu. Don’t get me wrong, the menu looks amazing, lots of great vegan and gluten free options, but there were two things that really made this visit not live even close to my expectations. Firstly, salt. Had the Green sage breakfast plate and subbed in tofu scramble. The biscuit was good, the scramble was okay, as was the root hash. But the kale with onions and the gravy were both salty beyond belief. Maybe the onions were pickled or something? And the gravy was just probably condensing over time. But you should expect food first thing in the morning to be tasted before plated and I can almost guarantee you this was not the case today… And secondly was the phrase “sorry for the wait,” which was heard 3 times in our 25 minutes of dining. If your staff is feeling the need to say that with every food drop, then they’re probably feeling stressed and understaffed. And we all say “it’s okay,” not because it actually is okay, but because we know it’s not their fault. I hope to return soon when things have been ironed out a little more. You have great potential here, and I hope it comes out soon.

Cafe Single Fin – Menu with Prices – 380 N 9th Ave, Pensacola

My husband and I visited on 5/27/19 Memorial Day) around 11:15ish am. This was our 1st time visiting as I had found them through my continuous search for more vegan options here in the Pensacola area. I initially chose them to try because they were listed as a merchant for the Impossible Burger. Once we got there I was told they didn’t have the Impossible Burger but that they had the beyond burger which is the same one I buy out of the store so I went on to my second option the Islander Tacos made with Seitan which they were out. I was a little disappointed at this point but decided to go with the tofu scramble and my husband had the black bean quesadillas. We absolutely loved our food. Our main complaint is that it took over an hour to get our food. I’m not sure if this is the regular flow of the restaurant or just due to the holiday but we look forward to eating here again in hopes that it will be less of a wait on our next visit. Overall our experience was good and I am happy to have a restaurant with more vegan options to choose from.

Daisy’s Garage – Menu with Prices – 5240 Edgewood Rd NE, Cedar Rapids

We ate here a number of times last spring and were always so pleased with the service that we once called over the manager to commend her and her staff. Tonight however, we were very dissatisfied . When we entered we were asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or restaurant area. We were not told there was outside seating. The restaurant was freezing. We ordered and waited an exorbitant amount of time for our food. During that wait, family friends came in and told us they were going to go grab a seat outside. They did so. When we next saw our waitress we told her we’d like to move outside. She told us there were no tables. I went out and looked and there were in fact several empty tables. I came back in and told her we had found one and that we’d like to go outside. Then another waitress interrupted us and said those were all for people on a wait list in the bar. Our friends were not on a wait list when they immediately entered and sat outside. I suspect that the outside waitresses did not have the capacity to take anymore customers. But rather than say that, the staff was rude and gave us a nonsensical answer. After 20-30 minutes, my husband was finally served and I was told mine food was still being prepared. We waited another several minutes before I was served. I don’t know if management has changed but we are very disappointed.

Thai Love NY – Menu with Prices – 2822 Lemoyne Ave, Syracuse

My idea of good Thai food in Syracuse was Lemongrass in Armory Square, but when I heard about Thai Love NY for vegan options, I had to give it a shot. The reviews are great and well deserved at a fraction of the cost of Lemongrass. Great service and great prices, too.We ordered 3 apps: Tofu Satay, Tofu Tod (deep fried tofu), and Tom Kha soup. All were delicious and made vegan. We ordered 4 entrees: Pad Thai, Pad See Eiw, Pad Khee Mao, and Gang Dang Curry. All were delicious and were made vegan. They have 5 levels of spice, with 5 being Atomic. Three of our entrees were at a level 4 (which was the right choice for us), and the fourth one was at a level 5. I highly suggest not going higher than 4, but if you like it hot, they’ll provide hot chili oil for self-adjustment.

Allentown Park Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection Menu with Prices 7471 Keebler Way, Allentown

Poor service, do not stay here, ever! Arrived at the hotel 930pm. Assigned room on 5th floor. Was unable to open room door as it was jammed. Returned to lobby and waited 10 minutes for clerk to return to open room door, which he knew was difficult to open, but never told me. Entered room and immediately knew it was a smoking room from smell, even though I booked non-smoking room. Tried to call front desk from room, but phone did not work. Called front desk and clerk i said to wait and he would be up with new key & room. Waited in hallway 22 minutes before calling front desk again and another 10 minutes before clerk arrived with new key. New room was also a smoking room as it was right across the hall, which I am sure the clerk knew, but tried to get us to stay in that room anyway. When told this was unacceptable again due to health reasons, was told by clerk to go to 3rd floor to wait for new room. 10 minutes of waiting, we were given a room with only 1 bed (instead of 2 as reserved). At this point I was so frustrated that I accepted the room and had to sleep on the couch. The next morning, I related my experience to the manager, who apologized and said he would look into it. This was just lip service since he did not ask for my name or room number, so he could not possibly look into it. Again, there any many hotels in the area, choose somewhere else to stay!

The Old Siam by Siam Kitchen Menu with Prices 2509 Jackson Ave, Ann Arbor

Every 6-9 months I come back to this place because I love the ChooChee tofu but OMG is the service awful. I walked in and there was one table seated, the entire rest of the restaurant was empty, and was told it was going to be a 5-10 minute wait. What? Twenty minutes later there were three tables seated and a woman walked in with two kids and was told it was going to be a 30-45 minute wait. She just started laughing and walked out. They are also super rigid with the proteins in the food. My dinner guest asked for tofu instead of chicken in the drunken noodle and was told no. Okay then. His chicken drunken noodle was pretty mediocre. So yeah, come at your own risk. The food is decent, not outstanding, but better than a lot of the Thai in town. However, the service is epically bad.

Hot Stacks Cafe – Menu with Prices – 9707 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

This is my favorite restaurant at Myrtle Beach. It is not fancy, looks like your typical pancake house in the outside. It is newly updated in the last 2 years (2018,2019) and everything is new. It is so well done, clean, roomy. The variety in their menu is unbelievable too, and it is pretty epic in sheer size as well. They have different menus for different times of the day – all on one menu but separated by Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. And the amount of vegan options (and variety, i.e. I can get more than a salad here or bowl of fruit!) They have granola pancakes which are SO tasty, a bit crisp on top, soft on the bottom, with real syrup and fruit, soy yogurt, oatmeal, tofu scramble with veggies and vegan sausage even And lunch has such a good black bean burger and dinner has just as many options. The food is always phenomenal, fresh and the orders get to us pretty quickly, even thought the restaurant can probably hold a couple hundred people, and at times is packed to the brim. We’ve only had to wait once to be seated and even though it was packed, we only waited about 10 minutes. And everyone is polite, professional and very friendly. We’re always impressed with this restaurant and will always go on a visit to Myrtle Beach!

Reverie Bakeshop – Menu with Prices – 1930 N Coit Rd #140, Richardson

I feel like 3 stars is too harsh and so I’d give this more of a 3.5/5. I really like the concept of this bakery with its vegan/gluten free offerings. There are kolaches, cupcakes, cakeballs, empanadas, cookies, and many other goods (donuts included hehe). Price is decent for the items especially since it’s vegan/gluten free but they might as well start using better ingredients (aka no artificial colors) if the price is already higher than normal. Anyways, I got the pizza and potato tofu scramble kolaches. Both were very good although potato tofu was slightly lacking in flavor. The dough was very fluffy and moist which surprised me. I also got the cinnamon sugar donut holes because I could not resist this carby goodness. Donut holes were ok, dough was slightly too dense. You are better off getting donuts at your local mom and pop shop if you don’t care for the ingredients and if you care about your wallet. Side note, this place was poppin for a Saturday morning. I definitely see the appeal of Reverie Bakeshop but I just wasn’t satisfied with what I ordered. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would definitely come again to try the other items.

City Furniture Millenia & Outlet – Menu with Prices – 4779 Vineland Rd, Orlando

Joshua and the first delivery guys were amazing. Our issue started when we received a phone call from the delivery guy trying to verify that we had been made aware that the 6th chair wasn’t on their truck and had been labeled incorrectly in the warehouse – which we had not. Within 20 minutes of this call, I got a call from someone in the warehouse. She started out lying to me saying the chair was on back order and then when I told her that isn’t what the driver told me she changed her story. Then instead of fixing the issue she just argued with me. I told her she should have a manager put the chair in their car and drive it over to me. She said okay, you want to talk to a manager (which I had not said) and out me on hold for 20+ minutes. Once she came back on the line (without a manager) she told me once the delivery for the pieces they did have were delivered she could see about having the 6th chair delivered same day. I am STILL waiting on that phone call. Our salesman Joshua, called later that evening to check on everything and had NO IDEA that all the pieces had not been delivered. He said he would call them and find out what was going on. I finally called him back around 8pm and he told me that he was told they chair would be delivered same day. Also, the reason I make such a big deal out of getting this chair same day, is we planned a dinner party; I ATE DINNER STANDING. I finally called the customer service line myself and got Kelvin. All he kept offering me was Wed/Thu delivery. We are not available Wed/Thu to accept delivery and after going back and forth with Kelvin on getting it this evening, I asked for compensation and was offered a $50 gift certificate, which I was told at the end I would receive once I accepted delivery of the final chair. Then Kelvin tells me Friday isn’t an option for delivery either, I can have Thu or Sun. Again, not available. BUT WAIT, there’s more! The chair was delivered the NEXT DAY instead of the following week as discussed; your delivery guy called me and when I returned his call (because again, I WASN’T AVAILABLE), I told him just to leave it because I didn’t want to go through this again. He text me a photo of the chair to prove receipt and it’s in a box. The other chairs came put together, so I called him back and he told me he couldn’t do anything about it to call customer service. I work in customer service; at this point a manager at the warehouse should have delivered it separately and we should have been comped a chair cost for the inconveniences/lies. We honestly don’t want to do business with this company anymore. We enjoyed our experience with Joshua and the FIRST delivery guys, but basically the customer service has been awful. Oh, and I still haven’t received that $50 gift certificate.

DOMA Korean Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 701 W Main St, Charlottesville

I came here for a solo dinner on a Wednesday evening in the summer of 2019 while in Charlottesville for business. The restaurant was within walking distance from the Residence Inn I was staying at, and is not too long of a walk from the Downtown Mall area. The restaurant was reasonably busy for a weekday night, but there were a good number of tables available when I arrived and I was seated immediately. I was trying to be vegan around this time, so I opted for the dolsot (hot stone bowl) tofu bibimbap minus the egg. This seemed like the safest option for a vegan dish; there were a few other options that seemed like they would definitely be vegetarian if not totally vegan, but Korean BBQ is usually so meat-focused that it’s pretty normal for most of the menu to be meat-centric. The kitchen area is very open and if you’re sitting facing the kitchen, it’s cool to be able to watch them work while you wait for your food. In particular, I saw them putting the hot stone bowls for the dolsot bibimbap on the hob to heat up, which was neat. My food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and I was very satisfied with the portion size and the generous amount of veggies and tofu I got. The bibimbap came with a side of gochujang paste, but I didn’t feel like I needed to use it since I’m not really huge on spicy food and I found the bibimbap to be flavorful enough on its own. Since the bibimbap keeps cooking in the stone bowl, it made the rice a bit crispy and kept everything nice and sizzling and hot for several minutes. The service was efficient and proactive; there wasn’t a huge delay between when I finished my food and when they brought me my check. Each table is set up with a carafe of tap water, so I never had to wait for a server to come around to refill me during the meal. Overall the restaurant was clean and had a modern, bustling atmosphere, definitely helped by the open kitchen area. If you’re in the area and craving Korean food, this is definitely a good option!
