I had an awesome experience at Aunt Kelly’s. The store was really clean, Aunt Kelly greeted me with a huge smile, and it ain’t cause I was cute, as soon as I walked in. And to ice that proverbial cake, the cookies are delicious. I had the “World Famous,” or at least soon to be, ButterCrunch cookies, the Chocolate Chip, and wait for it…..the Chocolate Chip ButterCrunch. Kelly doesn’t have 20 different kinds of exotic and out of the norm cookie varieties like other cookie places and honestly I think it’s because she doesn’t have to. What few flavors Aunt Kelly does, she does extremely well. If I had to, and I do mean had to, my only issue would be that they are a smidge too sweet but I’m still a huge fan and can’t wait to go back VERY SOON! Happy Happy Joy Joy

The Girls Who Bake Next Door – Menu with Prices – 210 Iolani Ave #1, Honolulu

I know The Girls Who Bake Next Door have a food truck–and you can follow their schedule on Instagram–but I actually went to their store front. I was craving chocolate chip cookies, and since I passed by the store once before and knew where the Girls were, I dropped by one Friday morning. I didn’t check Instagram beforehand, so I was fortunate during my visit that they had their traditional chocolate chip cookies. If you’re looking for a specific flavor, be sure to check IG: they have a list of their flavors for the day. Anyway, since I was the only customer there, I could sort of take my time ordering. I didn’t want to take too long, though, because the team was busy preparing for a special order/event and it looked like they were busy. The entire store smelled so good! I bought four cookies (and ate them all the same day), but being in the store made me want to buy everything I saw! The cookie deal was a good one, though – four cookies for $5. Definitely would return and recommend them to others. I also would visit their food truck if they were close to me one day. Here’s what I got: “Chocolate Chip”: There’s nothing better than a warm, comforting chewy cookie that’s loaded with chocolate chips. I love how this cookie was thin and small, but it wasn’t crispy and overly crunchy. It also contained a good amount of chocolate chips. “Chocolate Chip Mac Nut”: Surprisingly, this ended up being my favorite of all the cookies I got … and it was surprising because I usually don’t go for the cookies with nuts. I tend to be simple when it comes to cookies. But I loved the texture and flavor this cookie brought. The mac nuts balanced the sweeter chocolate chips perfectly. The mac nuts also added some welcome crunch and texture without being overwhelming. “Oatmeal Coconut Chocolate Chip”: This was the only cookie that made it home for my family to try, but they liked the different flavors. The oatmeal cookie texture made this cookie a little grittier, and it didn’t taste as sweet as the others because it had coconut as well as chocolate. “Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip”: I was interested to see how the blend between peanut butter and chocolate would work out. The peanut butter flavor wasn’t as intense/strong as I had hoped, but this cookie was still delicious. It was still nice to get a hint of peanut butter in there. “Peanut Butter Toffee”: This cookie wasn’t available during my particular visit, but I do want to try it one day because I love toffee. It’ll be interesting to see how it melds with the peanut butter, but I cannot wait to try it.

Seven Stars Bakery – Menu with Prices – 820 Hope St, Providence

Whenever I’m in Providence, I stop by at one of the Seven Stars Bakeries, but I really like this one on Hope Street (mostly because I can park in front and run in). They have a killer chocolate chip cookie — not like a super sweet loaded with chocolate cookie that’s a 1,000 calories. These cookies are chewy, soft, not too sweet, about the size of palm, not too much chocolate, and they have an old school bakery flavor that’s hard to describe. It’s the taste that warms me up and makes me feel happy. And, my husband feels the same way. When you see the chocolate chip cookie, it’s not a sexy gooey look, but more of a “here I am, your favorite cookie” kind of thing. Clearly this cookie is underrated because people go for the croissants and bread and lemon cake, but try the chocolate chip cookie and transport yourself back in time.

The DW Cookie Company – Menu with Prices – 18962 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita

How do you make the best cookies? Drive down Soledad to DW Cookie Co! I have heard about this place for years and haven’t made it there, until today. I am so glad I did. I was greeted with a warm welcome by DW and the store is very welcoming to customers as well. There are a couple of table and chairs to sit and enjoy his delicious creations on site. I didn’t stay and eat there but will probably on another visit. I picked up two homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches for my boys. You can pick the cookie and ice cream flavor of your choice. I took the basics, chocolate chip and vanilla ice cream. There was nothing basic about the taste. My boys devoured them in minutes and asked if there were any more! I also got a half dozen assorted cookies cookies, two of the Liz cookies (choc chip and toffee), two of the white choc and cranberry cookies, two of the toffee, pecan, and another ingredient (I forgot) cookies and DW threw in an extra chocolate chip. Got to my car and couldn’t wait to get home to try one. Ate the toffee cookie in the car. Buttery, crisp, chewy and soft at the same time. So delicious it melted in my mouth. Sweet but not too sweet and just perfect. Can’t wait to try all the other flavors, but I guess I should share. Looking forward to going back. Great cookies and excellent/ amazing service and atmosphere. Thank you DW for giving us such a great spot to treat ourselves!!

Good Food Gluten Free Bakery – Menu with Prices – 423, A-113, W 800 S, Salt Lake City

Hubby and I stopped in on Friday and picked up brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and pumpkin muffins bites. The chocolate chip cookies are THE BEST gluten free chocolate chip cookies I’ve found, and that includes both in private bakeries and at the grocery store. The brownies were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, and I can’t wait to order more and have them delivered since we live out of town. The only item I wasn’t that fond of was the pumpkin bites. I love pumpkin & chocolate chip items, but this one had a little too much spice in it, which made them a bit bitter. They were also slightly dry so I may have gotten an older batch.

Mitch’s Cookies – Dessert Bar & Soda Fountain – Menu with Prices – 4844 Davis Blvd, Naples

Awesome ice cream soda fountain shop. Cookies are amazing, had the cookie sundae with a chocolate chip cookie, real hot fudge, sprinkles, royal scoop cookie dough ice cream and a cherry. The cookie was heated and the sundae was amazing. We got some other cookies to take hone, peanut butter chocolate chip and chocolate chip with fudge inside. My wife had a black cow with rootbeer and vanilla ice cream, amazing. My son had a vanilla milk shake, loved it. The owner is so nice. Seating outside and high tops inside. Nice old cash register. Great atmosphere. Wonderful location near publix in kings lake shopping plaza. Fantastic.

Kizito Cookies – Menu with Prices – 1398 Bardstown Rd, Louisville

Kizito Cookies has become a Louisville institution. You can find the individually packaged cookies and sweet treats at stores all over town, and you know you’re at a good festival or Bats game if you see founder, the always smiling Elizabeth Kizito, selling cookies from the basket placed on top of her head. And during Bardstown Road Aglow over the weekend, I got to go into the store where all the sweet magic happens. Happy bonus: Elizabeth Kizito was making the cookies herself when I stopped in! This small shop carries an array of African goods, like jewelry, ornaments and more. Love seeing this shop reflect Elizabeth’s different passions. But the cookies! Oh the cookies! The Snickerdoodles had just come out of the oven, so my husband and I had to get one of those to enjoy on our walk back to our house. Other favorites include the chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal and black and white cookies. And don’t forget about the peanut butter blondies with chocolate brownies and biscotti. These baked goods are always soft and delicious, not to mention huge. One cookie will likely do ya. And since they’re individually wrapped, they make great gift basket additions. When you need a sweet treat for yourself or others, Kizito Cookies is always a great call.

Cathy’s Cookie Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 266 W Jefferson St, Syracuse

Cathy’s Cookies are deliciously sweet! I had the pleasure of trying them for the first time at a Yelp event. I had the chocolate chip chunk cookie and thought it was perfectly chewy. It was decorated with frosting on top which made it ultra pretty but definitely put it over the top in terms of sweetness and sugar. I imagine the cookie alone is great, especially paired with some milk to cut the sweetness. I liked the texture of the cookie and how it wasn’t too crumbly. I also liked the thickness and size of the cookie. Their store also sells ice cream, lemonades, slushees, muffin cookies and edible cookie dough. They have a cookie club for $45 a month for those true cookie monsters. You get 4 deliveries that includes a bunch of cookies and discounts. This would be great for a work office, school or home with folks who aren’t on a wedding diet like myself.

The Cookie Plug – Menu with Prices – 2915 Van Buren Boulevard STE J1, Riverside

Giant Cookies! Good Taste. This cookie place was consistently popping up on my postmates account and was craving something sweet, so I thought I would give them a try. It was a little more on the pricey side when I was reviewing their menu but ordered the cookies anyway. I got the half sack that came with 7 cookies for $15 and got 2 snooperdoodle, purple velvet, 2 OG chocolate chip, white macadamia, and pumpkin. When the cookies arrived via postmates, the cookies were HUGE and packaged in a ziplock with their logo (didn’t really care for the packaging). The cookies are about an inch thick with a diameter of a lunchables pizza, maybe even bigger (only way I can think of how to explain the size right now.) Just based on size, the price is MORE than fair!! I told my husband the price, and he was in disbelief due to the cookie’s sizes! Snooperdoodle– (snickerdoodle) the cookies are moist with crisp edges, but the cookie itself is thick. I prefer snickerdoodle cookies to be a little more on the thin side because otherwise it reminds me of a sweet bread. Overall, taste was pretty good. I think I expected something more like Mrs. Fields consistency but was not similar due to its thickness. Purple velvet–good taste and good texture throughout the cookie. It’s an interesting cookie. OG chocolate chip–these do not disappoint!!! Great dough and lots of chocolate chips! Perfect texture. Warmed it up a bit in the microwave and WOW! My favorite cookie of them all. I wish I could customize the cookie for a little less chocolate chips just because I enjoyed their dough so much. White macadamia–great cookie! Tastes true to the macadamia cookies. Texture is on point. No complaints Pumpkin–almost like a pumpkin loaf in cookie form. Pumpkin isn’t too overpowering. Moist with crisp edges. Great cookies. Definitely recommend.

The Sweet Shoppe At Porters Neck – Menu with Prices – 134 Beawood Rd #9104, Wilmington

It’s not often you can go to a bakery and get truly home-baked goods that remind you of your mom’s cooking. The Sweet Shoppe does that and more. I spoke to the owner, Kim, to order a birthday cake for my aunt who is in a nursing facility, and Kim could not have been more accommodating or helpful in picking out a giant cookie for my aunt. The cookie was outstandingly delicious, with a wonderful blend of flavor and sweetness, saying Happy Birthday Aunt Frances on it. Nothing was overwhelming and everything was baked to perfection. She customized the cookie and also customized a bunch of individual cookies. All her baked goods are beautiful, appetizing, and scrumptious. The customer service was such a pleasant experience, I would never consider going anywhere else for any occasion.

Sharp Cookie – Menu with Prices – 5380 N Mesa St, El Paso

I’m not a butter cookie type of gal. Most of the time, I think they’re tolerable. But I was really impressed with this store’s cookies. First, the shop is simple and cookies are displayed very professionally. Second, the customer service was friendly and informative. She explained that a lot of custom orders were made and that the assortment of cookie designs could be found on their website/facebook. At the store, you can get cookies to eat and even get regular cookies (without designs). I picked up a day old $0.75 Pecan Noir cookie and it was deliciously chewy, like it was fresh. Their cookies are beautifully designed too – almost like they’re factory made but it is clear that each is hand-made since the customer service rep was in the middle of icing a cookie when she saw us come in. Naturally, I figured that such bright, perfect-looking cookies were probably horrendous tasting. No. They give out samples to people who come into the store so that you can taste what the cookies are like. The ratio of icing to cookie is perfect (a thin layer of icing) and more of the soft cookie. Neither the icing nor the cookie were too sweet. I loved it and I’m not even a butter cookie person. In most store-bought decorated cookies, the cookies are hard and tasteless and the icing is way too thick so that you break your teeth to bite through the cookie. No thanks. I’ll be coming to Sharp Cookie for my future decorated cookie needs.

Sugar Cubed – Menu with Prices – 531 13th St W, Bradenton

Not really impressed. Wanted a treat at work so was surprised they had a delivery option. Chose it and placed order. Ordering was very confusing. They need to improve if going to continue. I wanted an assortment of cookies and they had a box option and discounted if bought by dozen. It would not however let me choose the cookies so i opted for an assortment. I only got 3 different flavors even though the menu showed more. It also doesnt state that certain cookies are not discounted. Example the macarons. Had i known they dont consider these a cookie and therefore dont qualify for the cookie box that discounts the price. And website stated that discounts were available if a dozen ordered. I found this out through an email stating they were charging my card an extra amount. Had website been more specific i would have changed my order. Also tjought cookies were very greasy and extremely heavy tasting and a bit dry. The grease soaked through the box. Didnt really expect that. Overall not much flavor and didnt expect the white chocolate macadamia nut ones to have coconut. It should be part of description. Overall experience was disappointing and wont be back. If you continue to offer online order please take a closer look at it it needs a lot of improvements

Cookie Cart – Menu with Prices – 946 Payne Ave, St Paul

Not only is Cookie Cart a great non-profit giving young people experience in the workforce. Their cookies are amazing! Got the chocolate chip (soo good), double chocolate, m&m, and Chicago style. All were buttery and had a wonderful soft texture when you bite into it. Some of the best cookies I have had. I got some decorated cookies, didn’t try it, but those who did loved it as well. I will definitely be back! The woman working there was so friendly, even took the time to tell me about the business when I asked.
