This place just opened up across the street from us and we had to give them a try! They were having a special on $1 tacos for their grand opening. We took full advantage of that and ordered a variety of the meats to sample. This tiny hole in the wall offers a good selection of foods on their menu ranging from asada fries, burritos, tortas, and even a few specialty soups on select days. They also have a wide range of protein choices for their tacos. We ordered the asada, adobada, pollo, and Chile verde. All the meats had great flavors, but my favorite was the adobada. It was so good and I loved the crispy bits the meat got from being cooked on the grill. The tacos are also a good size and comes standard topped with onions and cilantro. They do give you a red and green sauce for the tacos. The green sauce was my favorite. I loved the vibrant flavors or tomatillos and cilantro in it. One less star because we ordered 17 tacos and were only given 2 small wedges of lime. It was also really hot and stuffy inside the restaurant. I understand the weather has been horrible with the triple digits, but it was so hot in there it was unbearable. I had to step out after I ordered my food. There were a few people ahead of me who also had a big order, so there was about a 20 minute wait. It would also be great if they offered a self serve condiment bar. I was missing some grilled onions and radishes for my tacos. We will definitely return to try other items on their menu. Looks like Maria’s Tacos is going to have some competition in the neighborhood now!

Taqueria La Fondita – Menu with Prices – 3739 Tacoma Ave S, Tacoma

I LOVE ME SOME TACOS Once again my Fellow Yelpers you’ve rated this place 4 plus stars and I just had to come and check this place out for myself. Had to feed my inner fat gurl I was craving Tacos!!! This place is located at the corner of 38th Street & Tacoma Avenue it’s a Taco Truck and as long as your not blocking anyone you can park anywhere. As I started to walk up to the truck you can smell the yummy goodness of meat in the air and whats cool is there are food pictures clearly marked with the price of the numbered item that you choose and the prices are very reasonable. I am greeted by Mari who takes my order and Seco in the back of the truck where the magic happens in preparing my order as I am talking to Mari she tells me that there from. JALISCO, MEXICO I had Asada aka grilled beef steak, Carnitas aka fried pork, Pollo Asado aka grilled chicken, Birria aka shredded beef cooked in a mild Chile sauce, Adobada aka pork that is marinated and grilled, the tacos come with your choice of meat, chile, cilantro, onion. I tried all the meats I just mentioned and my favorites are Birria, Carnitas, and Adobada. These tacos are small but have plenty of meat and & are full of flavor I am in heaven the corn tortilla is soft like a bed for my meat, and fixings than I add a little lemon that you can get upon request with grilled onions & serrano chilies, yum. my hubby got the burrito macho which had choice of meat, rice, beans, Jack cheese, queso cotija, tomatoes, cilantro, and onions he loved it and I had a bite it was good too but I more of a Taco kind of girl. I’m loving this place and most definitely I will be coming back for more. Gracias Mari y Seco Ustedes si Tiene una buena mano para sazonar la comida.

Tacos El Bandido – Menu with Prices – 13231 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

This taco truck is a great addition to the Garden Grove/Santa Ana taco truck scene. This taco truck also stands out a bit from the rest. Not sure if it is their rendition of the recently acclaimed “Tijuana tacos” but expect your taco to be touched with a small paste of Avocado. Not necessarily your thickest and potent slab of avocado, but it will suffice to give your taco that complimentary texture and taste and goes well it taco meats. My girlfriend and I tried the cabeza, tripas and asada. Cabeza and al pastor was fairly good. I wouldn’t say it was the best. The same for asada. However, we both agree that this was the best asada in the area. They give you slightly bigger cuts here, some places makes you feel like your eating ground beef when really you are supposed to be eating steak… The standout is their corn tortilla. Around here is this a game changer. It tasted homemade and such a nice textural complement to the meat, sauce, cilantro, onions and avocado. The tortilla for the quesadilla was a bit thick for our liking. A bit worrisome if you are watching the carb intake. Downside is the amount of onions and cilantro they give you in the tacos, which was barely any. When you ask for extra they give you this tiny little bag. I prefer a condiment bar where you can choose to your liking. Overall, solid addition to Garden Grove/Santa Ana taco scene.

Taqueria La Fogata – Menu with Prices – 4623 S 33rd St, Omaha

This place is next door to Donohue’s Pub on L street. I will give this place 3 stars because the service was fast and the food was cheap. The menu is simple: tacos, tortas, burritos, and quesadillas. Meat choices include: Carne Asada Al Pastor Lengua Chorizo Tripe Barbacoa They offer $1 tacos on Thursdays after 5 pm only. The interior is sort of dated and even a little dirty. There are quite a few tables throughout. I know, these can sometimes be the really good places, right? However, the food was only OK. I ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos. The tacos are built with two street taco-sized corn tortillas, meat, cilantro, onions. They come with lime and salsa (red or green). The green (avocado) salsa is actually spicier than the red, which is not common. Overall, stop in on Thursday after 5 pm if you are in the area or next door at the pub. Otherwise, I’d make the trip to Taqueria Tijuana for tacos.

Milpas Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 316 N Milpas St, Santa Barbara

Completely hidden, hole-in-the-wall taqueria serving tasty meats. The physical appearance of this place is about as bare-bones as it could be. There are three or four small tables. Next to the register is a “steam table” where you would expect to see hot food being kept warm — but it’s empty and apparently unused. The menu consists of computer-printed text on small pieces of paper, apparently manually cut out and taped or pasted to a whiteboard. The name of the place, “Milpas Taqueria”, is likewise displayed on computer-printed sheets of paper taped to the counter. But who cares what it looks like? The food is tasty. I got two adobada tacos and an asada taco, all of which hit the spot. Each taco has a sizable amount of meat and costs $2. My dad got a quesadilla which he said was also great. The menu is quite small: adobada, asada, cabeza, and chicharron (all available in taco, burrito, torta, or quesadilla form), plus hot dogs and pollo a la parrilla (grilled chicken), which looked quite good. I also heard some people ordered barbacoa although it wasn’t on the menu; if I’d known about it I would have ordered some myself. There’s a salsa bar with some good salsas, onions/cilantro, and pico de gallo. Service was friendly. The woman at the register says they also operate the hot dog cart at a liquor store down the street and are trying out this location. I can imagine it is a tough location in which to make a business work. The business faces a back parking lot behind a laundromat and is totally invisible from the street. But that gives you a nice feeling of being in the know when you do make your way there. Give it a try.

Taqueria El Nuevo Perico #2 – Menu with Prices – 3702 E Chapman Ave, Orange

This taqueria is definitely delicious and authentic. The Carne Asada taco was very juicy and well seasoned and they use flour tortillas. The street tacos come with cilantro and onion on top with a side of grilled onion and radishes. I also bought the taco combo with carne asada (picture) which comes with rice, beans, and the onions. The Al Pastor taco (in the picture) was really tasty and juicy. The best part of this restaurant is that none of the meats were dry, but they’re a bit overpriced. However, the tacos are a bit larger than small corn tortilla tacos. There are definitely tastier tacos for cheaper if you’re willing to drive further out of Orange, but for a local, fast service taco, this is an excellent choice. There is also a lot of seating here and the place is large and clean, including a restroom.

Taqueira La Coyota – Menu with Prices – 6021 N Claiborne Ave, New Orleans

The best taco truck! Right in front of Winn Dixie on Chef Hwy. I know they have a few other la coyotas around the city and they are just as good. They just upped a few of the prices, but I’m not complaining bc everything is made to order and always delicious. The red sauce is my favorite! Most of the time it’s super spicy and I drench it on everything. The green sauce is more mild and good too. Gorditas – I always get the beef and they are always super juicy. Cheese, meat, onions, cilantro inside of a fried corn tortilla. The red and green sauces mixed together with some lime make it even better. Tacos – tortillas are corn. The meat you choose is usually cooked with onions and topped with cilantro. They’re so simple, so easy to eat, and you’ll always want more. I’ve tried all the meats and the beef and lengua are my favorite. Quesadilla – can’t go wrong with a beef or lengua quesadilla. Beef and Lengua – always super flavorful, juicy, yum as you can tell from above. Lol. Lengua is beef tongue, btw. Really depends on your preference Al pastor – I’ve tried this meat a few times and sometimes it’s a bit too salty.

Pollos Asados al Carbon – Menu with Prices – 2405 E Admiral Pl, Tulsa

i was informed about this food truck during the art crawl at kendall-whittier. thing is, i always saw this truck & always wanted to check it out & it would never come to mind. thanks to the recommendations while i was out in the area, checking it out wasn’t a question at that point. they have a special, 5 tacos for $5, so we went with 10 tacos. i had four: chicken, carne asada, barbacoa & chorizo. every single one of them were good! my favorite was out of the barbacoa (i have an infinity for bbq) & chorizo. they had 2 other selections that come with multiple meats, that’s something i’m definitely looking forward to next time. also, add some of that green sauce that’s placed on their tables, you can’t go wrong with that. service was on point. the tacos were made just like how i ordered them (i do NOT like onions) & it comes with a roasted jalapeno on the side. you really can’t go wrong with that 5 for $5, that way you can try most of their options. one of the top taco trucks tulsa has to offer.

Tacos Del Chino – Menu with Prices – 2431 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana

Yup, this place is delicious! My friends and I were craving some tacos after our fellowship meeting, and while we were looking up some late night restaurants, Tacos Del Chino popped up. This place had the best ratings of all the ones open when I was searching, so we thought why not. Thank GOODNESS we found this place.. they have all sorts of meats like cabeza, lengua, buche, and more, but I’ll settle with my fav, asada ? The asada was delicious, and they were some of the best tacos I’ve had in a while. Oh, and beware, the salsa is SPICY. My mouth was burning until the next morning, and would have burned for longer if I didn’t order the horchata (super delicious btw) to wash it all down. Overall, really great place to try. $1.65/taco for their “common” meats (like asada), and $2 for their “specialty” meats (I think lengua falls under this category). The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and even the workers were tidying up the sauce/condiments bar frequently.

Taqueria El Torito – Menu with Prices – 2906 High Point Road, Greensboro

Okay! This is the real deal. I’m sensitive about my tacos and it likely won’t get more authentic than this in the Boro. First of all, they are a dollar. You obviously can’t beat that. But the flavor. Oh, the flavor. None of that Baja crap with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Just some pure and delicious fried onions, cilantro, and that wonderful “green sauce”. And a couple of cucumbers to freshen your palette. Minimal, but potent. Ive gotten the Pastor and Asada tacos in past visits. I will certainly explore other tacos and dishes upon future visits. Oh, and they have elote. Check! Do yourself a favor. When you see the El Torito truck, just STOP! Your tastebuds will thank you!

Academy Minimarket – Menu with Prices – 515 Peters Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem

Tacos, tacos, tacos! Being new to Winston, I’ve been in the hunt for good tacos. I have tried a few places in and around town and off of Waughtown Road, but these are the BEST tacos I have found in Winston. The place is quaint. It’s a mini mart with a taco truck in the parking lot. At first, I wasn’t sure if the truck was open or not, but the friendly lady at the truck assured me it was. Let me be clear – This is not a restaurant and there are not any places to sit. You will get your food in a nicely packed to-go box and bag and have to haul it off somewhere to eat. (Note: I was so excited that I ate my tacos in my car in the parking lot.) I paid for my food inside the store and went out to the truck in the parking lot with my receipt to place my order. An order of 4 tacos runs about $6. I had the carnitas, barbacoa, and asada tacos and they were GREAT! Double tortillas warmed on the grill with fantastic meats, topped with onions and cilantro. My to-go box even had a little salad with cucumber, lettuces, limes and a spicy avocado salsa. I cannot wait to head back here for more TACOS!

Los Agavez Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 3166 N High St, Columbus

This is a taco truck in the parking lot of a convenience mart on Pacemont and High St. When I first turned on Pacemont, I didn’t see it at first and thought maybe it was no longer parked in that parking lot and I got sad (I LOVE my Mexican food trucks!) then I turned around and saw it, went in the parking lot, but then thought it was closed and again, sadness, but alas, it was open and all was well!! So onto the important news, the food!!!. Tacos – $2 each which is great. This was all I got because street tacos are my FAVORITE in life right now. I got…pollo, asada, lengua, al pastor, and a horchata to drink. I asked for mild sauce and I expected the green salsa that you get from some Mexican restaurants, but it was actually a green mixed sauce, that looked similar to the sauce you get at Arepazo. I believe it is cilantro based. Anywho, all were GREAT! The meat was really juicy and tender. The sauce added a nice flavor combined with the fresh squeezed lime that you just HAVE to put on street tacos. I look for street tacos pretty much anywhere I go, and I’m glad to add this one to the list for Clintonville. I also met Elvia who wanted to make sure I enjoyed my meal and was super nice ? Go there please!

Pinch a Taco 2 – Menu with Prices – 5005 S MacDill Ave, Tampa

I was on this side of the Bay and came here on a whim for lunch. I grew up in Southern California, where burritos and tacos are abundant. It’s simple, flavorful, quick, and delicious and cheap. After living in Florida for 6 years I’ve pretty much given up on Mexican food… until now! The menu is simple. A few meats to choose from and you pick your delivery method (taco, burrito, torta etc. My first time here I had 5 tacos, a variety of carne asada, pastor, pollo asado, and shrimp. All 5 were magnificent. The meat was fresh and flavorful, served on a corn tortilla (flour is available too), with onions and cilantro. I got them to go and got both red and green salsa. After one bite I knew I finally found a taco shop. A few weeks later I had a carne asada burrito. It was. A similar experience as far as nostalgia. Beans, meat, guacamole, pico de gallo, and a little lettuce. I think I’d prefer tacos next time, but the burrito was amazing none the less. Both times I washed my meal down with a large horchata. It’s a sweet cold cinnamon rice drink. Trust me, you can’t go wrong. I’ll definitely be back soon, and looking forward to trying their ceviche.
