My boyfriend wanted to try to place out since they opened! It’s known to be the most expensive restaurant in Bellevue! With them being known for their superior steak and sushi selection. Me and my boyfriend loves trying new places out regardless what the price is. We always tell ourselves, gotta try the hot and new places! We decided to come here for my boyfriend and my best friend birthday celebration. We were helped after the hostesses were done with the guests before us. I told them we had a reservation for 6 people. And we were seated within minutes. We got seated next to the window like we wanted to. Which was awesome! We looked through the menu and they had a good selection of appetizers, soup, salad, steak and sushi. If you wanted to order drinks, they’ll present you an iPad to look at the cocktails. If you select a cocktail from the iPad, it’ll tell you in detail what it is! I thought it was unique how they did that! It took us a little while to decide what to order because there were just so many things we wanted to try and knew it would add to quickly. For appetizers, we ordered three orders of oysters shooters and roasted bone marrow. The oysters were interesting. When I looked on the menu, I didn’t know, it didn’t say it had alcohol in it. But when it was brought out… they said it had sake inside. This was my first time having sake in the oysters shooters. My boyfriend who drank it, doesn’t and didn’t want to consume alcohol. It’s okay but I felt bad for him because he’s not suppose to drink alcohol. But it’s okay. He’s fine. We tried the bone marrow! It was wow! Interesting. I never had something like that before. My boyfriend didn’t know how to eat it, so he ate it without the crispy rice and his reaction was not good. I told him he gotta eat it with the crispy rice! It was pretty oily and fatty!! Wow! Perfect with the rice. I think to portion of the bone marrow was perfect. Anymore would be too much! And we thought the sushi was pretty good! Everyone enjoyed that! We also ordered drinks as well. I got the Rombutan and Cloud 9. The Rombutan was pretty good! Sweet! The Cloud 9 was pretty good too! Basically an alcoholic version of the original Ramune. My friend got Shiso Fire. It taste just like Shiso with a hint of spice/kick. My other friend got 1921! It was cloudy and came with a rose inside. It tasted like perfume but in a good way. Each cocktail was 16 dollars or so. I thought that the service was really good. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. She knew what she was talking about and explained everything in great detail. She told us about the specials they had for the day, how it’s the rarest steak they have, how hard it is to obtain it, and how fast it goes by. We were all really fascinated of what she said so we searched up “Olive Wagyu” and this is what we found out. “With only 2000 cattle in existence, Olive Wagyu is nearly impossible to get ? and when available it sells out quickly. So rare, it’s hard to find even in Japan” We were like wow okay! She really does know exactly what she’s talking about. It was really awesome. Three of my friends decided to go hard and order that rarest steak they had. Which was called the Olive Wagyu. Every once ounce was 55 dollars. Minimum order was 3oz. I guess we had no idea how much 3oz really was… because that alone, was 165. I decided to get the Prized A5 Wagyu, fillet mignon from Japan. Which was 30 dollars per ounce. I got 3oz. So that was 90. Every steak there is charged by ounces. So depending on how many ounces you get is the total. We also ordered sides. Dungeness crab Mac and cheese, Potato Purée Butter, and Tempura & Sautéed Foraged Mushrooms. The side were pretty good! When the steak came out… To be honest, it was quite small. I could tell all my friends were in shock of surprise. We held our words back and when the waiters left… We were like oh my god! I

Castaway Burbank – Menu with Prices – 1250 E Harvard Rd, Burbank

This is not my mother and father’s Castaway anymore! It’s been completely revamped and has officially entered the 21st century. I was impressed by all the changes, especially given that I grew up in Burbank and spent many Mothers’ Days, Fathers’ Days, brunches and holidays here. The new decor is truly impressive and I’ll definitely be back to check out their Green Room and uber-craft cocktails. I’ve been reflecting on the dining experience we had one month ago and finally decided to share it. Things started out well enough with a young server who was polite and well-meaning. The bread basket and accompanying spread with so delicious that I could’ve eaten the contents of the whole basket myself. Then the missteps began…I asked for the house red wine and ended up with a glass of $15 La Crema. Unsure if that is really their “house” wine. Peter ordered a Mojito with “light vodka” and ended up with Absolut, $12, instead of a well brand. We were out to have steak and Peter Rabbit decided on the Bone-in Ribeye, $44, with bone marrow supplement, $12. He enjoyed his streak but did not rave about it. The bone marrow received a “meh…”. The beet salad was fine but I felt it was over-priced at $15. The potatoe puree also seemed a bit much at $18. The main problem, however, was my Mishima American Wagyu, 7 oz. NY cut. It wasn’t merely “marbled” as I was told, it was fatty and impossible to chew without discretely spitting bits out into my napkin. Upon a month’s time reflecting on my steak and the overall experience, we probably should’ve said something to the manager when he came by to check on us. I’m not sure if I had started in on the ordeal that was my steak, but I do regret not calling him back over. Dessert selections seemed meager and nothing really lit our fire but we ordered the Lava Cake, $12, and it was fine. For $172 before tip for the two of us, I think that the first time dining here since the big remodel could’ve been much better. I doubt that we will be back for dinner here anytime soon. The young man at the front desk tried to show me the Green Room but it was closed and locked up. He did give me a card so we can come back to visit. So that was a consolation prize… Yelp Challenge 2019: 67/100

Island Cafe – Menu with Prices – 949 Jewett Ave, Staten Island

The only thing that I really liked about this place was that it was quiet and it had seating available. Unfortunately I only brought a credit card so my friend has to pay for my meal because only he had cash. It’s not often that you go to a restaurant that doesn’t accept credit cards. I had a lox and cream cheese wrap and an avocado sushi roll with brown rice. I have had the same lox and cream cheese wrap elsewhere and it tasted much better. But it was nice that they have an option to have a whole wheat wrap. The sushi was disgusting and mushy. The rice tasted wet. I hate sushi like that. To me good quality fresh sushi the rice isn’t wet and mushy. And to add to that I thought there should have been more avocado in the sushi, and less rice. Plus they charged extra for brown rice, which is not something I am used to paying extra for. They add a 10% gratuity to the bill as well. Not a fan of places who do that. And my friend wanted to leave a tip because he thought he should tip more but the waiter was like that’s ok don’t bother. That was kind of weird and awkward. ****I think this place’s name has changed. My reciept showed this address but listed the business name as “Sushi Corner”. Pictures on this Yelp account match what the inside of the restaurant looked like.

The Lonely Pine Steakhouse – Menu with Prices – 6085 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati

Want great steaks, a casual atmosphere and prices that won’t break the bank? Then this is your steak place and you should check it out ASAP. We went to dinner around 6 pm on a Friday night. Though they do not take reservations we were able to be seated immediately. The service was great along with an inviting atmosphere. Now let me get to my favorite part… the food! We ordered a 16 oz Cowboy with mushroom and garlic butter, 8 oz Ohio Wagyu fillet, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, bread basket with tallow-butter curd, 1 large scoop of Aglamesis Bros Banana Chip Ice cream and the Triple Citrus Crème Brûlée. Everything tasted fantastic and I couldn’t stop thinking about my Wagyu fillet. I felt like I was flying and in an emotional state of pure bliss!! Only fantastic steaks make me feel this way, so yes, it WAS DELICIOUS! The Cowboy was a flavor bomb, dry aged for 30 days and cooked to perfection. The Ohio Wagyu tasted as expected; tender, lean and wonderful. If you are a garlic or mushroom fan, I recommend to pay the $3 extra dollars for these butters. Definitely worth the calories. As for everything else we tried, they were great. The other big highlight was the ice cream. It tasted like a frozen chocolate banana (one of my favorite desserts). Honestly, this was one of the best scoops of ice cream I have ever tried. If you’ve never tried Aglamesis Bros ice cream, you must order this as dessert. With all of this food, our meal came out to be around $80 dollars per person. However, we splurged on this meal. If you come here and order a side with two steak entrees you can easily lower this cost to around 40-50 dollars per person depending on what you order. The 8 oz Wagu fillet was only $29 dollars! Come here and enjoy yourself without worrying about making this a formal affair, while still being able to enjoy quality food.

Fujiya House – Menu with Prices – 1489 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg

I went there and ordered NY steak and shrimp. Steak to be cooked medium rare. When it was plated it looked yellow and pink. I told my friend something wasn’t right. I tried a small bite and it was soar and smelt rancid. The cook told the waitress and when she came to table she said “what do you want me to do about it”. I told her it was bad and I couldn’t eat it. She just looked at me and said again “what do you want me to do about it “. I had to tell her to throw it out and take it off my check. Never did a manager come to table but I could see the waitress talk to him across the room and he just patted her on the back. I pray someone checked the other steak in back and didnt serve anyone else the NY steak. I will never go back and plan on never recommending this place again. Bad steak and bad customer service.

Sabor A Mi Grill Tequila & Botanas – Menu with Prices – @ Thomas Winery Plaza, 8976 E, Foothill Blvd Suite B4, Rancho Cucamonga

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I honestly do not know how they have good ratings. What a joke. Worse customer service EVER. The person in charge was unbelievably rude. First, I asked what the jalapeño poppers had. The menu said cheese and jalapeños only. It did not mention they were fried. I even asked her, and she said cheese and jalapeños. When she brought them out, I mentioned something about them being fried, and she gave me attitude saying that’s how all jalapeños poppers are. Second, three of us asked for WELL DONE steaks. She brought only one well done steak. When my friend told her that her steak was not well done, she said that’s how they always do it. When the bill came, we asked for the person in charge. She said it was her, and my other friend mentioned again that it was not well done, she said it was because the main chef was not there. Why does it matter if the main chef was not there? If a customer asks for a well done steak, they should get it well done, not how the cook decides. Third, I asked her for a side of Caesar dressing. She told me they only had Mexican dressings. Then she proceeded by suggesting another dressing they can make for me after I told her I could not have the Mexican dressings because of dietary restrictions. She also made a comment on how Caesar dressing has the anchovies, and anchovies do not go with steak. Fourth, my friend’s mom ordered rice and veggies. She brought a salad instead, and insisted that was what she asked for. Everyone at the table heard her say rice and veggies. How are you going to tell us what we ordered? Never returning to this place again. Be aware of the person in charge’s rudeness and horrible customer service. What did we get out of this horrible experience? A discount of 11 dollars, and a “I brought out everything they wanted” comment. No sorry, no nothing. Smh.

Tacos El Pollo – Menu with Prices – 3696 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

I came here on a late night with my boyfriend since he wanted a burrito. He ordered a Carne Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado and a soda, which was a little over $5.00. When his number was called, they gave him a side of avocado, a side of rice and a side of beans. When I saw his bag, I went to the window and told the guy taking orders (in Spanish) that he had ordered an Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado. He tried to argue with me that my boyfriend had only said rice, beans and avocado. The guy said that it will be extra for the burrito so I told him it was ok, so he charged plus $3 and some change. When we got the burrito and then got in the car, I told my boyfriend to grab a bite off the burrito because I had a feeling that they had NOT added the meat. And there it was… blend burrito with rice, beans and avocado and NO MEAT. So we basically paid almost $10 for a simple rice and beans burrito. Good location, bad customer service.

Aburi Sushi & Ramen – Menu with Prices – 735 E Green St, Pasadena

Now I can finally write a review for this place after coming here three times. I had both good AND bad experience so let me just start out by saying your experience may depend on the day of your visit. My very first time at Aburi was with my best friend. She and I had a great dinner doing AYCE even though no server has informed us about how only 5 orders will be served first or whatever they call this policy. Second time, I went with my Mom. Since I have gone to other Aburi location in Long Beach and also here with my bestie, I thought I knew what was going on. My server named ‘Lily’ was very unprofessional. After filling out my order sheet, I handed to her and she told me about the 5 orders thing and not knowing what it was, I told her last time I was here I wasnt told that but its fine, it is what it is. Then she tried to argue with me in a very annoying tone so I was like whatever. Then she goes off telling me that NONE of the COLLARS are available (Salmon & Yellowtail). So I said its fine. It was just her attitude, tone of her voice and behavior that made me so irritated. She didnt look serious and looked very nonchalant. Before getting my orders, another server comes and explains to me about Lily’s actions and re-explained to me about the 5 order policy and so I clearly told her I wasnt too fond of way she delivered the message; unprofessional. Later, I got some of my orders then I see both Salmon and Yellowtail collars coming my way. I told the new server that ‘Lily’ told me you guys dont have any collars available and now I see both on my table. She said ‘she meant to say we have limited supply’ Um, excuse me? I know how to write and speak English. She CLEARLY told me she did NOT have it. She didnt mention anything about limited supply or whatever though I was aware because it says it on the order sheet. I was just so sick of everything from then on. So my second experience was crappy as ever so I decided to come again with my Boyfriend to finalize my thoughts before giving them a review. My third time was again so-so. My server was just fine. But it was the FOOD that was below par. My Boyfriend and I ordered 2 orders of sashimi (Salmon and Seared Tuna) and did not receive it after we received all of our orders for the first round. We also did not get any collars. I asked the server to check and a bit later, one of the collars came as salmon collar was not available. Our 2 sashimi came out with the Yellowtail Sashimi added during second round and so ALL of our sashimi came out at the same time. I belive it was Yellowtail Sashimi. Boyfriend took a piece to eat and later I looked at the plate to grab, I SEE A HAIR. A SHORT CURLY HAIR (please see attached picture with this review). I was disgusted. With the disappointing experience I had before, everything was unpleasant and started double checking all the foods left on the table for any hair or things that SHOULDNT be there. I called the server to let him know. He literally said, ‘oh sh!t’ and asked if I wanted a new one. My Boyfriend wanted it so I said yes. Other than that, no apology of any kind was made to my table. Again, this is very unprofessional. I dont want to stereotype but almost ALL asian owned businesses lack sooooooo much professionalism handling situations like this. Gross. I didnt want free food. All I wanted was an apology or a ‘statement’ from the manager but absolutely nothing! So that sums up all my dining experiences (3) here at Aburi. Extremely disappointed in lacking professionalism displayed by servers or even the management. Food hygiene is definitely a BIG issue. No parking available as street parking (1 hr) is the only option I believe. I was hoping to enjoy here at Aburi but since the first visit, it has been DOWNHILL. Such a disappointment. Done.

Oishi Teri Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 2704 Coffee Rd, Modesto

The owner should be embarrassed. Usually I don’t leave yelp reviews but what happened today was the worst service I’ve ever had. I went here with my friends who hyped this place up saying it was the best place in town. We ordered our food and everything was great, a little slow, but nothing was wrong. When our main meals were being served, my friend, who had substituted his white rice for sushi rice with his salmon belly, bit into his rice to double check and found that it was normal rice. My other friend who had ordered the same thing checked his rice and realized it was normal white rice too. A minute after sending back the rice, the owner burst through the doors and puffed out his chest telling my friend, ” That was sushi rice.” In very loud tone while looking like he was ready to square up with my friend. The other two chefs also chimed in and told our table how my friend was wrong and it was sushi rice. Not only do my friends know the difference between sushi rice and white rice, but the way the staff handled this situation was extremely disappointing. There would have been hundreds of different ways to handle that situation without making a hostile environment towards your customers. The owner then proceeded to ask in a condescending tone,” What do you want? You want more vinegar?” After my friend had mentioned, very kindly, that he couldn’t taste it. Please note that my friends spend hundreds of dollars on sushi and definitely know the difference between white rice and sushi rice, but the owner had the audacity to talk down to them. Additionally, my friends who are REGULARS here noticed that the salmon belly was only served with one sauce instead of the normal two, one vinegar and one chili. When my friends asked for the other sauce that wasn’t served with it, it seemed like the staff didn’t know what they were talking about and made it seem like my friends had made up the second sauce. Furthermore it took me significantly longer to get my food than my friends, which I feared they would spit in because of how upset the kitchen staff seemed to be after the rice situation, something that should have never been a situation in the first place. When I bit into my own sushi roll, the rice tasted like white rice and I was extremely disappointed. I didn’t send back my food because I didn’t want the owner to actually start fighting with us. It was the worst sushi roll I’ve had in a long time. When we were eating our food, the staff had the audacity to talk slang in Spanish about us, like we were idiots. This was my first time eating at this establishment and I was excited to finally get the chance to try their food. This is the first time I’ve had such terrible service. The owner should be disappointed in himself for handling the situation that way. Squaring up with your customers no way to run a business, it’s a way to guarantee that your PAYING CUSTOMERS will never come back. I never will come back here again. It’s a shame because I was excited to have a sushi place to eat at regularly with my friends during the summer before I go back to college, but the only thing we found here was poor business ethics. I would give this establishment zero stars if I could.

Von Hanson’s Meats – Menu with Prices – 2018 Ford Pkwy, St Paul

I recently had a very unpleasant experience at the Von Hanson’s in Highland Park, St. Paul. It was Thursday, August 6th, and I had the afternoon off from work. I had a long list of meat items to pick up, e.g. marrow bones for stock, beef and pork roasts, pork belly, pork ribs, etc. and was really looking forward to working with the staff to pick out some good things for future meals. It was ruined from the minute I walked in the door. The dowdy clerk, clearly bored to death with his job and irritated at being disturbed, didn’t even bother to say hi. I stood at the case for several minutes before he glumly walked over and acknowledged my existence. We started with the marrow bones. He reluctantly went in the back to prepare them, and I immediately thought I should just head for the door. This clearly wasn’t going to be any fun. He came out with the bones (35% more expensive than the same bones at Kowalski’s) and waited for me to ask for something else. I pointed to a lovely beef roast in the case. I explained that I was cooking for one, and it was rather large. He reluctantly agreed to cut it in half, and I asked him to wrap both individually so I could freeze one. I was getting more unhappy by the moment. But I went gamely on. I asked about bone-in pork roasts. He condescendingly told me that they don’t come small enough for one person, but I could try to come back tomorrow. I explained that I had bought them there before. He said I was just “lucky” then, and tried to lecture me on pork roasts. He said he was doing me a favor by “educating me”. That was enough. Instead of just running out the door, like I wanted to, I just told him to ring up what I had. I told him that I just wanted to get out of there, and that this experience was ruining my day. He clearly didn’t care. I will NEVER go back. Oddly enough, there were several signs advertising jobs available, but only for people that are “motivated, upbeat, friendly, helpful, customer-driven, etc.” The sad sack who waited on me was NONE of those things. Why come to Von Hanson’s when I can get MUCH better service at Kowalski’s, Rainbow, Cub, etc.? It was a rotten experience, and I will NEVER go back.

Makoto Japanese Buffet – Menu with Prices – 1119 SE 163rd Pl, Vancouver

Ahhh.. I stumbled, well I didn’t STUMBLE, I was recommended this place and decided ‘what the heck, I’ll give it a try’. I was CRAVING seafood and man I haven’t had GOOD seafood since Boiling Crab in CA. But I digress. I got here with my daughter and best friend and 6-7pm on a Saturday. It was pretty busy which my friend and I thought was a good sign. When you come in the front doors there’s a pinball machine and coin machines to distract your kids and get rid of your loose change. Unless you have a toddler, like myself, then you’d much rather want to sit on the bench at the doorway. We waited maybe 5-6 mins before we were seated. Pretty fast considering how busy it was. I thought it was odd that there was carpet under our table instead of hardwood/concrete/anything other than carpet. I immediately went searching for the crabs and shrimp.. to be disappointed.. I know.. I know seafood isn’t that great in some states. But I hadn’t been back to the West Coast since I was a kid and I just.. expected more. The crab legs were crunchy and lacking meat.. very seasoned though. The shrimp was.. good. I can’t complain. I wanted mussels but they only had oysters and clams that were barely seasoned. The lo mein was plain.. kinda hard. Fried rice was pretty dry. The sushi.. or what they call sushi was not sushi. The “desert bar” was pitiful. There were maybe 3-4 different kinds of dry store bought cake cut into smaller sizes.. jello.. some fruit. I spent $42 on myself and my best friend. My daughter barely ate. For $42 I could have just went and got myself a $5 box of taco bell, desert, and gas to get me to both places and home. I will say the staff were all very friendly and quick to get us water when we asked (the food was so packed with salt we drank a lot of water). There was also staff cleaning off the bar area and changing out utensils. All in all, if you’re craving seafood just go to McGrath’s or Red Lobster. For $18 you can go to Walmart and get the food to cook yourself.

Qian Express Chinese Ramen House Menu with Prices 10660 NE 8th St, Bellevue

I read a review of Qian on another site and decided to check it out. So glad we did!! We took my father, who luckily was up for trying a new place. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated. Ordering was super easy and done via tablet-tho just one per table so we had to take turns looking at the menu. The menu design makes it really easy to customize your order to add or delete ingredients. Service was exceptional and friendly. Once seated we were immediately brought complimentary fried red chili with peanuts (not spicy) and pickled radish. There is also a jar of red chili on the table (spicy). Qian has a limited menu of 13 noodle dishes-both wet (in broth) and dry (with sauce but no broth). Apparently these are the most popular dishes at their Seattle location. Its a great selection but I hope they add more dishes, especially vegetarian options as there aren’t any now. Portions are good size. Everything we ordered was very tasty and was served steaming hot. Dad ordered the Braised lamb brisket with thin rice noodles which came in a broth. Both the lamb and broth were really flavorful. Hubs had the Qian Noodle. He said it was good, but reminded him a bit of a spicy Italian meat sauce. Tho I didn’t taste it so can’t comment on his analysis ? . I had the Marrow Bone Noodle with wheat noodles. I also added thick rice noodles for an extra cost- which sank to the bottom of my bowl and were slippery, so were hard to pick up with my chopsticks. The noodle broth was good not too salty& light flavor (I always prefer less salt because it can always be added but can’t be taken away). The marrow bones came separately in a bowl with a little bit of the marrow broth, which was a bit more flavorful. The marrow bones were good as well, but there was very little meat on them and no additional meat in the broth. So if you want meat, that’s an add on for an additional cost. The interior is striking, very clean and the food rating is Good. So yeah, go check it out.

Domino’s Pizza Menu with Prices 5800 Westover Ave, Anchorage

Ordered a pizza and a 2 liter of soda to drink it with. When the driver arrived i tipped the usual 10 dollars. Before he left i told him i didnt have my soda. His response seemed like he knew it and didnt say anything till i did. He said a driver was coming behind him to deliver it. 20 mins go by and still no soda. I live 1 min from the place. I called about it and all of a sudden its on its way out the door. So the driver never told them about it. So my pizza was already getting cold by the time i had my soda. Kinda mad.
