So I went to get lunch from here and everyone was very polite and helpful so that made me feel good and welcomed and comfortable spending my money there. So I get back to work and realize I only got 1 dressing packet.. no big deal I walked back to get a couple more. I wasn’t dissastified until i started to eat my sub.. there wasn’t enough dressing in the world that could have spiced up or given this sub any flavor is was so bland dry and flavorless that I just threw it away then I thought sweets make everything better so I went for my elephant ear which was harder then the concrete I was standing on.. it could be that thus us the way they make theirs but my whole life I’ve been eating them and they have never ever been that hard. Usually the are a little crispy on the outside and soft and doughy on the inside. So overall I will not be going to arts to eat or get anything else anytime soon.

Sweet Bettys Bakery – Menu with Prices – 5600 E Virginia St e, Evansville

We have used Sweet Betty’s Bakery twice for a personalized cookie for our daughter’s classes. Throughout high school and college, when classes have been tough and stressful, we have asked the question, ‘How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.’ So no matter how big the task is, break it down into smaller pieces and slowly devour it. We had asked the bakery if she could make elephant cookies when she had completed her anatomy class and for her last class, She purchased an elephant cookie cutter just for the special occasion!!!. The team made them in the University of Evansville colors: purple and orange. So, if you are in the bakery and see elephant cookie for sale, you now know the story behind them.

Torpedo Factory Art Center Menu with Prices 105 N Union St, Alexandria

Old town is so lucky to have this great arts center which has always brought life, energy and curious crowds to N. Lee Street. I love the textile shops as well as the imaginative pottery artists and the main art gallery where you can purchase high quality and very reasonably priced original art for very reasonable prices—go, and don’t forget the two upper floors of galleries…so nice to be able to ask working artist about their art in progress right in the galleries–all so friendly so go for it and have fun! And, please note the real deal long torpedo against the wall on the main floor….yes, the place was a torpedo factory very much in use during WWII…history is there—and you are standing in it!!!

State Theatre of Modesto – Menu with Prices – 1307 J St, Modesto

First of all let me say I LOVE THE STATE THEATER. I go to about 8-12 films, functions and concerts a year. I also bring from 4-10 people with me…We eat, drink and spend money there. But so many times I have had to make MULTIPLE Trips to buy tickets. I can understand if it was close or there were no employees available but just about everytime there’s 3-5 standing around. When I ask if I can purchase tix they say the Box Office is closed and to come back. I recently bought tix for the Led Zeppelin cover band show…(7) of them at $29 a piece but had to go back 3 times to buy them even as the employees were standing there. Do you NOT want to sell tix? Make a profit to stick into refurbishing the theater? Stay afloat without constsnt need for donations? I love and support the arts but this is stupid…Every dollar counts…Make it while it’s there. No reason to turn away customers with CASH IN HAND. Like I said this has happened MULTIPLE times and I know you hire kids but you are not teaching them how REAL BUISNESSES WORK doing this.

Brahma Shrine – Menu with Prices – Dunes Cir, Las Vegas

I visited this Brahma Shrine in July 2017. I did not see the shrine at first. Soon a strong sense of serenity got my attention, I looked back and the shrine was right in back of me. A naughty bird was playing the elephant dolls around the Brahma statue as gifts from believers while no one was there then. The shrine was not huge; but the Four-Faced, Eight-Handed Brahma was majestic!!!! Dear Four-Faced Brahma, please grant my prayer I made at your shrine, help me through my life crisis and I will fly to Bangkok, Thailand to thank you in person with the promise I made! Thank you very much!

Mas Natural – Menu with Prices – 1905 Central Blvd, Brownsville

Very rude service cashier/server. I asked for a salad to go. She’s making it and pours the dressing over it. I stop her and say I’d like the dressing on the side because the salad will get soggy since I’m not eating it right away. She gives me a look like, “Really!?” Then she says, “I ASKED you if you wanted everything on your salad.” I tell her that yes I want all the salad fixings, but I want the dressing on the side. I explain that at the other location I’ve gotten it on the side without even asking when its an order to go. She tells me “Not here. We always pour it on top.” Then she says, “Next time tell me before I make the salad.”

The Flight Deck – Menu with Prices – 1540 Broadway, Oakland

Flight Deck is an idea that seems too good to be true, but they make it work — in a world-class way. Take an old downtown storefront, remake it into a theater, create workspace for multiple artists and arts organizations, use the walls as a visual art gallery, recruit and house four diverse local theater companies, apply for grants, sell tickets, cultivate and perform original work, train a sizeable youth contingent — basically, produce risk-taking, provocative theater, have a strong educational component, run the business end like professionals — and treat each other well, serve the community, and continue to grow and prosper. I mean, really, isn’t this how it’s supposed to be? Is this the real America at 15th and Broadway in downtown Oakland? A model arts organization and it’s on the map for young arts entrepreneurs to emulate. All of which results in a theatrical experience that feels like something more.

Woolworth Walk Menu with Prices 25 Haywood St, Asheville

What a cool way to preserve a historic Woolworth Building. This place is a huge art gallery, almost 20,000 square feet, with an old fashioned soda fountain. It will remind older folks of the Woolworth Luncheonette counters of the past. This particular building was built in 1938. When we visited, we were in a hurry, so we just stopped in for chocolate malts. During my next visit, I would love to spend some extra time looking at the art created by local artists. You will find examples of jewelry, fine arts, decorative arts as well as crafts.

Tacos 4 Life – Menu with Prices – 2630 S Shackleford Rd, Little Rock

I recommend Tacos for life but I will do so with this caveat. when I go to a restaurant or consider having their food catered in for the office I would like to have some consistency. There is literally no consistency with the product you get from this restaurant. One day you get a product with a good portion size and the next day you get 1\4 the product and you wonder what you are paying for. It is frustrating when my wife wants to eat Tacos 4 Life and then she even says “it’s one of my favorites but because I dont even know if I’ll get a portion that will make me satisfied during lunch I’ll pass”. Tonite I went through and got the Mahi tacos and my wife asked, can you even see or taste the fish. sadly I had to say no. I was able to fold my taco almost all the way over itself because there wasnt any product in it. I’m not sure what the fix is other than to stop frequenting the restaurant because the food is absolutely delicious. I just don’t want to keep paying $30 each visit for kids meal portions.

Little Ground – Menu with Prices – 1450 Flower St, Glendale

TL:DR – Cool seating area, good coffee, ok pastries. —————- Little Ground cafe is about a 15 minute walk from my work, so every now and then, at around 300pm, I’ll go to get some coffee. Maybe it’s because I’m tired, maybe it’s the intense Glendale sun, but that first sip of my iced americano is just what I need. I typically like my coffee, whether that be brewed or as an espresso to be more on the bitter side; I like the more earthy tastes of the beans, rather than a clean acidic taste. That being said, Little Ground has the best balance of both. It leaves me with a boost of energy and a nice taste in my mouth. If I’m feeling extra run down that day, I’ll also pick up a pastry. Since it’s in the afternoon, they are half off and a little bit on the old side, but I really can’t fault them for that. They have a typical spread of coffee cakes, scones, muffins, and cookies, and they are all still tasty. I prefer the orange ginger scone, because it’s not too sweet and pairs perfectly with coffee. The seating area off to the side is pretty cool. A long U shaped concrete bench encases the area, with wooden beams and netting over the top. You would think that the area would get hot during the day, but the concrete stays surprisingly cool. If you have time, it’s nice just to sit down and relax on the cool concrete and forget about everything. hahaha

Greenberry’s – Menu with Prices – 1805 E St NW, Washington

You, standing in line, its cold out – too cold you think. Why do you live in DC? concrete buildings everywhere, short, squat, unrefined. Blocks away from the world’s power you think, ” today I need a coffee to get me through the drudgery that is common DC work”. You see Greenberry’s, you have read the reviews, You believe. you #hope. Walking in you see a good space filled with people just like you, busy typing away at their macbooks at 2pm, no job to go to, just slamming the keys to build their dream of ethically sourced kitten fur vagina hat #resist knittings. You stand inline, alight with the possibilities that you will be able to post to your blog with a steaming hot, frothed to perfection, balanced, refined, latte. The most fundamental of coffee shop offerings. You pay the fee, little steep for a latte you think, but no bother, mom, and dad have this one. You are handed the latte, it feels warm -it feels too warm- Oh well, nothings perfect you think. So you wait, you wait and you think. You wait and you think and you hope. When your patience has expended itself, and the latte has come down from entirely too hot, you blow, and you sip, and with that sip, all of your hope. all of your beliefs all of the DC’s oppression falls upon your shoulders and crushes your dreams. You were not given a dream, you were stripped of hope. What you were given was stale, incinerated beans, brewed with a pressure second only to daily DC life. This hand in hand violence upon your life and daily happiness is in full focus now. The taste of completely scortched milk sits upon your tongue, coats your mouth like the filth on the streets. you walk out, drop the latte in the trash, and consider again, a move to a place where the fundaments are respected, where a person can get a cup of coffee to escape the day and experience relief and joy with a group of strangers in a nice atmosphere. And inside… Inside you weep.

Marc’s Fusion Cafe – Menu with Prices – 4133 Charles St, Rockford

Let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room–this place is super small. But that’s literally the only downside of eating here, so if you can get past the pain in the butt of finding a table, you’ll get one of the best meals in Rockford. This place is tied for our favorite sushi in all of Rockford, and their fried rice is definitely the best out there. The chicken fried rice is our go-to for our entree–it’s that good! Otherwise, other favorites are Jim’s fusion (if you like a variety of meats), the shish kabobs, and shrimp tempura sushi. If you set your expectations on waiting a while to eat (definitely come here before you’re starving, or else you’ll get cranky), then you’ll LOVE this hole in the wall. It’s wonderful and there really is nothing like it in the area.
