I have been here “a few” times and think that it should be given a pretty complimentary shout out. Located on the Daniels corridor, it’s a nice small, casual restaurant that’s been open over a year I think and seems to be doing well. It has sandwiches and a nice variety of food that I would say is mostly lunch type fare. I’ll start with what not to have: They have desserts and I Had a bit of their carrot cake and I have to say it was hardly what I would call cake of any kind. It was more like confection. The frosting was applied too heavily to taste the cake part and seemed like eating sugar. The cake was incredibly moist, but so much so it was oily to my palette. Obviously I would not recommend. The sandwich I had was a veggie sandwich with peppers and eggplant and I expected a bit of crunch from the peppers but it was mushy. And the bread it said it was on was not the bread it got. If you like mush without much flavor this is the sandwich to try. That said, the good stuff: the other sandwiches I’ve tried have been excellent. The fries are yummy. They have a sweet happy hour. The atmosphere is clean and deli like, and the people that work there are super nice, friendly and concerned that you are happy with your experience there. Have lunch or “linner” there. UPDATED: so I’m here at artisan and have stopped by a few times in between, so I thought I’d update to today’s impression, while the older review still stands. Last time I got the duck lunch special. I had lots of curry which was not mentioned st all in the description and in my opinion was “very very curry” in flavor, which was not my preference when it comes to curry.. so today I stuck with what I know I love here and that’s their Philly cheese steak but I got with Swiss instead of American cheese. Pipping hot on a really good soft French bread type bun. The only tiny note to make less than positive is usually even the pickle is great too but this one seemed old and less than usually great; But love their Phillies and even the ice tea unsweetened with a tiny shot of sweet is brewed well and oh so refreshing. My friends liked their salad but said leave me out of this yelp stuff ok? lol but they had the arugula salad last time and it was very nice and enjoyed. Everything fresh and good. Salads and sandwiches alike are average 11-12 dollars.

Nannu’s Pastizzi – Menu with Prices – 6981 Millcreek Dr, Mississauga

I had been wanting to try Nannu’s for the longest longest time and I’m so happy I have discovered this hidden gem. So I went here during the lunch hours and decided to try their veal sandwich. And obviously their famous pastizzi. So starting with veal sandwich it was made fresh and the portion was generous, I could only eat half. The sandwich was nothing extraordinary I find most Italian places make them similarly. You can add mushrooms, cheese, onions, peppers on the sandwich for an up charge.I was more excited to try their pastizzi which they are famous for. So I ordered 2 cheese and 2 meat ones and boy they really are absolutely mind blowing. So freshly made, this flaky phyllo pastry which is crispy and thin from the outside and has a comforting filling of either cheese or corned beef with loads and curry in the inside is just phenomenal. The price is right too, it’s $2 a piece for a decent size pastizzi. This little restaurant is decent size and has about 6/8 tables. When I went there it was fairly packed since it was lunch hour. There is ample amount of parking outside the restaurant. My only complaint is I wish they are better staffed, there was only one girl taking all the orders, running at the back, constructing sandwiches and also serving at the tables.Though she was doing a great job one more staff member would make this operation much faster and smoother. Oh I forgot they also have a huge desert selection and I opted for a sticky bundt cake.I thoroughly enjoyed it.It was fresh and delish. Will definitely be coming here again.

KoKyu Na’Mean – Menu with Prices – 4823 Meadow Dr, Durham

Took my friend to grab some dank sandwiches from this awesome place! We ordered from the daily sandwiches posted to the right of the cash register. I got the Nuoc Cham Banh Mi, which is a crispy pork cutlet, sriracha butter, lettuce, Chiles, pickled veggies, Nuoc Cham and fresh mint. Impression: great, crispy bread. The cutlet was crispy, but didn’t have any flavor until combined with the Nuoc Cham and pickled veggies which made for a great succession of flavors. The mint was a nice touch Note: while the Nouc Cham is typically a watery sauce, it made the bread increasingly soggy and the sandwich fell apart. Maybe place on the side for those who wants to put it on the sandwich as they go? To those who don’t know: Nuoc Cham is a Vietnamese term for dipping sauce that is literally a combination of all tastes: sweet, sour, salty, savoury, and/or spicy. The other sandwich ordered was the Pimento Pollo, a sandwich with pimento cheese and Korean fried chicken, with iceberg lettuce, pickled hot cherry peppers and their own vinaigrette. Let. Me. Tell you. This sandwich was THE BOMB. Who knew KFC was good with cheese like that? Well… this biz did. Sides: potato salad and their garbanzo salad was pretty damn good. Bottom line: although both sandwiches are great, the Pimento Pollo triumphs the Nuoc Cham Banh Mi for its better flavor combination. This should honestly be on the menu!

R&R World Famous BBQ – Menu with Prices – 3135 W Broward Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

I was at the African American Library and it got me in the mood for some BBQ. Since I was right in the area, I decided to try this joint out. It is not identifiable from the street, you have to turn by the Jade Chinese restaurant place and then there is a sign set up to point you in the right direction. It is actually behind the building and if you aren’t looking for it, you would pass right by it. This is not a place where you go in and sit and eat. To go, only. The young man who took my order was respectful, calling me “ma’am” and explaining what items were available. I ended up with a rib sandwich and a side of mac and cheese along with sweet tea and lemon cake. The sweet tea was…different. Not bad, definitely sweet, but the flavor was not what I would normally associate with sweet tea. Perhaps it was out of a bottle or can? The serving of mac and cheese was small, but delicious and well seasoned. I could barely eat it after I finished my rib sandwich. The sauce was delicious, but unusual to me. It had a mustard color to it, but was sweet and tangy. There were about 4-5 ribs on two pieces of white bread and I finished it all, despite being overly full. Tender meat, great sauce. I am still too full, 2 hours later, to even look at the lemon cake. There were a variety of other desserts offered – red velvet cake, chocolate cake, sweet potato pie – as well. They do accept credit/debit with a $5 minimum along with ID. I would love to taste some of their other offerings, because I was pleased with my meal.

Sandwich Club – Menu with Prices – 121 W Trade St, Charlotte

This review will be a very mixed opinion – I’ve been here for lunch a number of times, and I always had good sandwiches and walked away very content with whatever I had ordered. That changed with my last visit when I continued my reuben adventure around Charlotte with a stop in at Sandwich Club. I had high expectations based on all my previous experiences – I left extremely disappointed. The sandwich was bad from the first bite – it was cold in the center. Like right out of the fridge did they even toss it on the griddle cold. The corned beef lacked flavor, The cheese wasn’t melted, the kraut was sweet instead of tart, and the one good thing was that the bread was at least average rye. The bread had seemingly been tossed in a toaster, which helped make sense for why the sandwiched was lukewarm on the outside and cold on the inside. It was an all-around unpleasant experience, and the other person with me couldn’t even make herself finish the sandwich. If you go to Sandwich Club and order a majority of what’s on the menu you’ll leave quite happy. Just avoid the reuben – for whatever reason it’s nothing like the rest of their sandwiches.

Sam’s Italian Deli & Market – Menu with Prices – 2415 N First St, Fresno

I have been coming to Sam’s for many years. They have a great selection of Wine, Meat Cheeses, Breads and Sandwiches. All of the Staff at Sam’s are sweet and very helpful. They are always so busy, but they get you in and out quickly, so you can enjoy your food and get back to work on time. I love the new Sausage Sandwich with the peppers. It is a hot sandwich, and it is packed with a lot of sausage, cheese and peppers. OMG you have to try it….it is so good. I do a lot of shopping for myself and for friends. I also do shopping for gifts and parties. They have a great selection of drinks, sodas, cookies, pasta, and of course their deli is always packed full of great things to eat.

PureBread Deli – Menu with Prices – 4801 Limestone Rd, Wilmington

Love this place for a quick , fresh lunch that wont have you ready for a nap. Yummy ingredients. The ability to create your own sandwich which for a foodie like me is a BIG deal. Mix and match different sandwiches to make something that is truly your own. My go to is lettuce, cheese, bacon, mayo and avocado on focaccia bread. I have just started trying their salad menu starting with the spinach salad and am only disappointed it took me so long to try one (I was just so hung up on the diy sandwich thing). They also do a good breakfast sandwich / wrap. Even their coffee and baked good are awesome (especially the pound cake muffin aka cake for breakfast!). Very well rounded establishment plus cute puppies on the wall !

Verre Wine Bar Menu with Prices 2415 Wilson Blvd, Arlington

Decided to try Verre today for lunch and I’m so happy I did! It was my first time there and I really enjoyed it – and I didn’t even sample the wines, so I’m looking forward to going back. The interior is really nice with a ton of natural light, and their menu is great. They have what I think is an amazing lunch special – a full sandwich, a full side, and a coffee or tea for $9.95. Can you get that anywhere else in Clarendon? I don’t think so. I got the chicken and brie sandwich, and our server was very accommodating when I asked for it to be served without bread. I got the Greek salad as my side, and Swings coffee. The sandwich was delicious and was plated very nicely (forgot to take a picture) and the dijonnaise and fig jam on the side were a really nice complement. The Greek salad was nice – great greens, tasty tomatoes, peppers, onions, and great herbed feta with a tasty Greek dressing. My friend got a really hearty-looking sandwich and the Greek salad side. We both felt like this was a great value for a nice lunch! They had lots of other good options, too, so I highly recommend!

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 2504 S Marion Rd, Sioux Falls

Just stopped in this place finally a couple of days ago. Interesting Sandwich designs to be sure. I chose the Philly Cheesesteak and my co worker, the Meatball sub. His review after one bite, “oh wow.” After that I think we both said only a few words to each other the rest of the time because we were too busy enjoying our sandwiches! While I can’t detail his sandwich much it did look fantastic. Warm bread, nice sized meatballs and plenty of them, melted gooey cheese, and deep red marinara sauce blanketing it all. My cheesesteak could come in chicken or steak, I chose the steak. I added the grilled onions and hot peppers. It came to our table nice and warm. Soft bread, of course gooey cheese mixed in with the meat, and the onions and peppers seemed similar size and were blended with the cheese and meat perfectly. My first words to my co worker a mix between religious and NSFW. Ha ha. By comparison, I’ve had Pepperjax when it first opened, and again as recently as this week, and I would have to say the only similarities between the two sandwiches are the titles, meat, cheese and bread. Pepperjax is more chewy, the bread has more pull in the bite and somehow it seems a bit bland, and yes, I also order Pepperjax spicy. Capriotti’s, was a really good bite from first to last. Warm, gooey, cheesy, soft, flavorful, with just enough spice to know it’s there but nothing that will make it miserable to finish. Capriotti’s for the win on this one. I could have chocked my experience up to maybe a good day by their grill, my “beginners luck” being my first time in maybe I got a good sandwich, or any number of reasons, but that wasn’t it. I couldn’t get this sandwich off my mind so I went back the very next day and got their 20 inch version. (Yes, they have a 20 inch version that took me 2 days to eat. It might as well be a whole loaf of French bread you see standing by the oil at Hy Vee.) This next time was just as good as the first. The place itself has a cool vibe, cool color scheme and they have a little shelf with free dum-dum suckers to grab on your way out. How cool is that?! If you like Subway, Firehouse, Quiznoes, or Jimmy John’s. You should Love this place. Sorry, no pictures because I was too busy eating and didn’t want to stop.

Mike’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 2101 S Combee Rd, Lakeland

Beats the other Sub shops to me. I’ve had the meatball subs ! The sause wasn’t watered down , rich thick Italian sause guys ! Their stake and cheese was delicious. The beef was juicy and not dry. The cheese was just right. But out of all I’ve tried. My favorite is the tuna all the way. Mmmm . crisp cucumber, tangy sweet banana peppers, and the way they make the tuna salid is so mild and flavorful, most just the right amount of sweet yellow onions. Ohhh the French roll bread so soft to bite through and warm . Yet holds together while injoying each delectable bite. And all sandwiches are reasonably priced with chips and drink. Also an ambience of old time sandwich shop. Very comfy to eat in. Or you can use their drive thru if you don’t have time to go in to eat. I hope everyone give Mike’s a visit. I think you’ll be happy you did.

Crestwood Catering Deli Menu with Prices 22 Picotte Dr, Albany

My husband and I recently visited Crestwood Deli after reading about it in the paper. It took MORE than 30 minutes to get two sandwiches – I could have gone to the store, purchased ingredients AND made the sandwiches before this place even finished burning the sub-par bread for one sandwich. To be clear, we went on a Sunday when the place was totally EMPTY. On to the flavor of the sandwiches: for $15 dollars we got two TINY soggy unappealing lumps of bread, meat and cheese (see photos – the sandwiches are on 7″ dinner roll plates and I used a quarter to demonstrate their minuscule size). They were like 5 inches or less (made a Subway six inch look huge). On top of that, the corned beef used in the Reuben was ice cold and amazingly the burned bread was soggy. Shame on you Crestwood Deli, this is not the kind of food that should be served to customers. I will certainly never recommend this place to anyone. CONCLUSION: Buy your own ingredients at the grocery store and make sandwiches at home!!! P.S. The chef Danny Urschel made the Reuben pictured.

Kruk’s Philly Steaks – Menu with Prices – 5231 University Pkwy #105, Bradenton

Tasty I stopped in for lunch today, it wasn’t busy. I read through all the reviews ahead of time and was interested to see how much meat I would get on my sandwich, but my problems started earlier. When I walked in, I saw the sign explaining how to order, and having spent time in Philly I was already familiar with “wiz wit”, cheese wiz and with onions. We were off to a very Philly start. At the counter I ordered a large Cheesesteak Wiz Wit combo. My order taker asked if I wanted onions. I was confused, didn’t I just say that? Then I was asked if I wanted peppers, I said no. In hindsight I now realize I was being asked about sweet peppers, not hot peppers, and I should have said yes. I was not asked about mushrooms, don’t sweet peppers and mushrooms automatically come on a Philly Cheesesteak? Apparently not. It didn’t take long to get my food and the sandwich and fries were nice and hot. While not a generous amount, I thought the amount of meat was fine for the size of the sandwich. I was disappointed by the size of my ‘large’ sandwich. I was also not impressed with the sandwich construction, the wiz was on the bottom, finely chopped meat in the middle, and onions placed on top. It didn’t take long for the cheese to start leaking out and the onions to fall off. Shouldn’t all this be mixed together? If the sweet peppers and mushrooms were going to just be placed on top, I’m kind of glad I didn’t get those ‘toppings’ for an upcharge. Tasted good. Aside from missing a few things I missed ordering, my bad, it was a good sandwich. They just opened a second location closer to me in south Sarasota and once they have had time to work out any startup kinks, I’ll stop in knowing more about how to order, the wiz wit sign I first saw did not explain about peppers and mushrooms.

The Cheesesteak grill – Menu with Prices – 1771 S Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside

My first time here but without a doubt I’ll be back. It’s so hard to find a place that serves an authentic cheese steak sandwich out here in Cali but this place is the REAL deal! It’s located conveniently off the I-5 freeway so if you just want to grab some sandwiches and go. We pulled up and it’s a small shop located in a strip mall. Just the appearance of this place from the outside made me think this was going to be good. Inside they have a menu posted on the walls and it’s pretty simple. There is plenty of seating and a big screen TV they play sports on. I went for the cheese steak sandwich with hot peppers and a side of “Frings” (french fries & onion rings). They use ribeye steak and only grill up the meat when you order your sandwich. When my meal was ready, just looking at the sandwich I knew I had found a great place. My first bite into the sandwich let me know I was right. I can’t remember the last time I had such a delicious cheese steak sandwich and never this good here in Cali. The meat was tender and the most flavorful! Just the right amount of cheese and the sandwich bread was soft and fresh! I love a sandwich like this where there’s nothing I want to add it’s so delicious. The onion rings and french fries were also good. While I would say the onion rings were good, the fries were the best! Next time I’ll just get the fries. My friend had the garlic fries and I can only assume they were good because she ate them all up and I never got a chance to try them. If you are a fan of cheese steak sandwiches, this place is a MUST! I don’t think you’ll find a better cheese steak! I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
