I came here for a birthday party with a party of 11 on a Monday night never hearing about Angelo’s. As one of our party spun stories that she heard of the place I noted a few things. The parking is ample provided you get there early enough. The spaces are a bit small for those people who have larger cars. The ambiance itself is the classic Italian diner feel – low lighting, greens, browns, nice tables. Our waitress was kind, punctual, and on top of her game. She had everything well under control. I had ordered a special – a white sauce gnocchi that was oh so good. They were light little pillows of doughy deliciousness that I had no problems eating the entire bowl. I felt kinda like a pig because I think I was the only one who did so but I completely skipped the bread that our waitress kept us full with and also forgo the salad or soup because why would I fill my belly with those things when they had such wonderful gnocchi! I ordered a Moscow Mule here as well and it came out delicious. It was perfectly mixed, not too strong and not too weak. I was very impressed. I did not have dessert as many of the people were very full and our hostess brought a birthday cake that the staff brought out for us to share. It was extremely good food, good service, and wonderful company.

The Celtic House Irish Pub & Restaurant Menu with Prices 2500 Columbia Pike, Arlington

Ok, a few years ago, I passed on this place. I was staying nearby but changed hotels to be closer to Capitol Hill. I can’t remember where I ended up while I was in Arlington, but always wanted to return to check things out. Tonight, despite my ride-share blowing past here, I finally returned. I was a little surprised that it wasn’t as busy as I expected on a Saturday night, but I’m totally fine with that. As time went on, more people filled in at the bar. I skipped appetizers and went right to the Reuben. It was good, not greasy. The rye bread was grilled well, with flavor and texture, not soggy or too buttery. Along with the fries, it was enough to fill me. I skipped the coleslaw. I looked for photos of desserts to help me decide between bread pudding and apple pie. In the end, I went with the bartender’s suggestion – bread pudding. The presentation was unimpressive with a square of the bread pudding in a square bowl with cream. I decided to chop it up to help cover it with the cream and that helped. It also improved the taste because the cream adds a nice flavor and without it, this would be boring and plain. I’d suggest that when they present this, don’t just throw a slab into the bowl. Chop it up and drizzle the cream all over! Better yet, serve it chopped with cream on the side to be mixed in when served. Overall, I was pleased. I have a few days in Arlington and will try to come back.

Di Lisio’s Italian Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 301 Brookstown Ave, Winston-Salem

I don’t live in Winston anymore, but just had to return to this spot even if I could only order it as take out (not because they didn’t have seating, but I didn’t have time to dine in). I thought I’d update my review to reflect my takeout experience. I ordered the gnocchi sorrento, which is gnocchi in meat sauce topped with mozzarella cheese. It came with a side salad (I got house with vinaigrette) and bread. I was a little bummed I didn’t get any of the delicious olive oil dip for the bread. I also ordered bruschetta, which they neatly packaged all the bruschetta topping in separate containers so that I didn’t go home to soggy bruschetta bread. The gnocchi was so delicious, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their salad and house dressing is always amazing. I can’t get over all the great ingredients in the salad, such as olives and radish. Bruschetta was heavenly and perfectly seasoned as well… it came with a lot of delicious Parmesan to top it with! I just love this charming restaurant so much. Apparently they will be closing soon for renovations, and I’m confident things will only go up from there for Di Lisio’s. Try to get your fix in before they close!

Water Grill Las Vegas – Menu with Prices – 3500 South Las Vegas Blvd Space #G01, Las Vegas

This place is a feast for your eyes as well as your belly! I went in the afternoon on a Friday and didn’t have to wait to get in. This place is huge! There is a a large private back room that you can reserve for a group party. If you come in from valet and go up the escalator, you have to turn to your left and it is located behind you! Otherwise you will miss it if you just walk straight ahead. Our waitress told us that she went through extensive training to work here and learned so much about seafood that she never knew before! Nice to hear that they are training their employees to help inform their customers. She also took us to the back to show us the live tanks of prawns, crabs and lobsters! So you can pick your treat! I ordered the Pacific Kiss Raw Oysters, a bowl of clam chowder and a beer. They serve fresh baked bread to us and one had baked cheese on the top and I had to use all my willpower not to eat too much bread because it was so good, & I didn’t want to fill up before the main dishes! The presentation of the oysters was stunning. The soup is uniquely served with clams in the shell. I liked that the broth was not thick, it was on the lighter side and there was tiny carrots and onions in it. The soup was delicately flavored. The oysters were sweet and were a good size. This filled me up too much to have dessert, but I did like the dessert choices. I know it was the bread and beer’s fault. I liked this place so much, it will become a new favorite! There are thousands of oysters suspended above the bar which makes for an impressive design installation.

Fancy Q Sushi&Thai Lakeland FL – Menu with Prices – 4306 US Hwy 98 N, Lakeland

I have never seemed to get around to trying sushi but today was amazing. I have never been to Fancy Q ever, Originally I heard from a friend about this place. But I wasn’t really sure. I ended up going. Once I opened the door and walked in I was astonished. The architecture was spectacular! I was greeted by everyone once I walked in. I was seated immediately. The waitress came she was happy for us to be there she brought us a soup that was in a small red bowl with a spoon that looked like a ladle. The soup was Incredible It had beef broth with little items in it. From there she began to ask us what we wanted to drink, we informed her that we were first time customers she helped us generously. When she brought us our beverage she brought a type of sushi. I had never had sushi, she said it was a big hit item itâ??s called the eddie special. I took my first bite and the sensational flavors hit me. I was decided that it was time to step up my game I ordered a sushi sampler and it was breathtaking. I proceed to order a chicken and steak a small salad was brought out with it with a ginger dressing . The salad tasted very fresh and so did the dressing the food was brought out in less than 15 minutes. The food was so flavorful and I had to get a box after that. I will for sure be going back!

Mc Grath’s Fish House – Menu with Prices – 12501 SE 2nd Cir, Vancouver

First, this is a 2 visit review, Our first visit about 2 weeks ago was fantastic! Our server was Jane. She was super fantastic. Very attentive without being intrusive. The food was fantastic, Eddie the chef was wonderful about making the changes I asked for. This first visit was 5 stars. Yesterday, Oct 11, we came back to celebrate my birthday. Sadly this time we had Robert as our server. It was horrible service. He couldn’t remember my drink order, he forgot what I ordered (virgin strawberry margarita), came to back to double check was it was. Came back again asked how I wanted to prepared-blended or cubes. Got the drinks. Other tables that came in after us already had their salads and bread, he had not even taken our order. That finally happened. After quite a long- long wait we got our salad/soup and bread. The other table already had their main course and were halfway thru it.. I had only taken 2 bites my salad when the main dish showed up. Hubby had only had one bite of his chowder. Robert said it was the kitchens fault I complimented the chef, to which Robert replied “I’ve seen better”. Really? Wow what a thing to say. I asked about a certain dessert, had to catch him as he went flying by, and just got a “we’re out” as he kept moving. Had to ask 3 times for a box, he kept forgetting. Got the birthday sundae with the hat, was told to not putt on my head, to just “hold it”. We sat there for what seemed like forever waiting for the check, actually about 15 minutes. He only had 2 other tables and we were all in row. He had no attention to detail, was not at all attentive. Never even put down the little drink napkins. The wait for the salad/ soup was much to long, the food came way to fast. I did complain to the manager but it felt like he just brushed it aside. It was a Friday night about 6 pm. And our section was not that busy. And it cleared out quickly. He couldn’t even handle the 3 tables he had. This was not the birthday celebration we were hoping for. The food was wonderful, the service really put a downer on it. Guess should have sat in the bar where Jane was, but there weren’t any tables and who wants sit at the bar for a birthday celebration? If you get Robert as your server expect poor service. We will be back, just not right away, and no Robert.

Villa Romana Italian Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 707 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

I was hesitant with going to this restaurant because the menu looked quite expensive. When we walked in there was 20 minute wait since it was full in this restaurant. Also, the decor looked like this restaurant was still sitting from the 80s. My family was almost skipped over because another family tried telling the host that they were me even though they were not. We were able to fix it and got sat down to our table. Our server was very friendly and quick with getting our order. All entrees include soup, bread with marinara dipping sauce, and salad. Also, if your entree is not a pasta, like mine was specifically chicken, it includes spaghetti. I enjoyed the bread because it was definitely homemade bread the moment I tasted it! The food portions was appropriate size. You definitely get what you paid for when you come here. I enjoyed the atmosphere with the accordian player and even though it still has an 80s look, this restaurant has a family feel to it. The food is homemade and the recipes are thought through. I enjoyed this experience so if you are visiting Myrtle Beach and wanting to enjoy some Italian food, come to this wonderful restaurant!

9 Delicacies – Menu with Prices – 520 128th St SW B-8, Everett

9 Delicacies is extremely good. We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Pork Belly Plate with the Spicy Cucumber Salad and House-Made Kimchi. The Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich was a crispy, juicy, saucy, messy piece of goodness on a bun. The chicken was very crispy, but very moist. The sauce was sweet. The combination of the crispy textures, sweetness of the sauce, and the amount of chicken created a nice Unami-bomb (and messy) of a sandwich. The Pork Belly Plate was extremely good as well. There was a decent amount of Pork Belly – enough to share between two people (with the sandwich) and not feel like I missed out. I could’ve done with the Pork Belly being a little more fattier and render, but the flavor was there. The rice was very light and aromatic – the coconut was a really nice flavor profile that made the rice unique. The Spicy Cucumber Salad was very good. It had a nice spice to it and had a great freshness and snap as well. It was the perfect compliment to the salty, fatty pork and meaty and messy sandwich. The Kimchi was very good too. It had a nice snap/crunch, wasn’t too sour, wasn’t too sweet – it was very fresh. Good. We ordered a Spicy Cucumber Salad to go. It was a bit disappointing because 1) they didn’t completely fill up the container and 2) as the salad set it became more condensed, so by the time we got home only about 60 percent of the container was full. I wish they would’ve packed it more – but oh well. Really good food. I’ll definitely be back. It almost feels an Asian/Korean “Meat & Bread.”

Little Oak Bar – Menu with Prices – Bishop’s Landing, Halifax

My wife and I have always been fans of Agricola Street Brasserie, so when they opened up a sister restaurant/bar serving up small plates on the waterfront, it was a must that we hit up. We were finally able to go there during my birthday week, on a cool but nice fall night. They don’t do reservations, but since it was a Tuesday, we were still able to easily get a table in the small restaurant. It doesn’t feel cramped though thanks too a light wood interior and large garage-style windows that look out to the Bishop’s Landing plaza.  We started out with a couple cocktails and then took a look at their menu. They do a somewhat unique thing here, with a handful of permanent items on the menu like charcuterie and cheese boards, but the more typical meal-type food is listed daily on chalkboards on the walls, with a handful of choices. We settled on the cheeseboard, beef tataki, pork belly and gnocchi.  The cheeseboard came with three cheeses: a brie, blue, and Asiago, as well as jams that were paired with each, and a bowl of varied carbs for delivering the cheese to one’s belly. Normally I’m not particularly keen on the funk of blue cheese, especially on its own, but this one was laid back and didn’t overwhelm the other cheeses. The brie did its creamy thing, while the Asiago had a pleasantly salty kick.  I wasn’t exactly familiar with what tataki was, but the ponzu sauce, spicy mayo, and slaw made for familiar items to ease my way into something new. It turns out that tataki is a lightly seared, and thinly sliced beef that isn’t far off from carpaccio. The beef was incredibly tender, and the ponzu gave it a slight tang, and sesame oil backed that up with its nutty, roasted flavours. The slaw added a nice textural contrast, while the spicy mayo and tiny chili slices brought the heat. All in all, a very tasty and well balanced dish.  The gnocchi and pork belly came at the same time. The sizeable hunk of pork belly was roasted quite simply, which let the flavour of the meat come through, while the sous vide egg, and an apple and parsnip puree added some depth to the flavour profile. Gnocchi is one of my wife’s favourite things to eat, and this was one of her favourites that she’s ever had; loaded up with wild mushrooms and a coating of pesto and butter, it was hard to go wrong. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and at the level you’d expect for a place like this.  Little Oak is continuing ASB’s great work in the front and back of the house, and adds a new dimension to the already solid dining options on the waterfront.

Eduardo’s BBQ Steaks & Mexican Grill – Menu with Prices – 6516 Arena Blvd, Laredo

My family of 10 went to Eduardo’s for a birthday celebration. Upon entering, we were told they were having AC problems. We decided to stay and a portable unit was placed nearby. I told one of the employees about the birthday celebration. He said “Happy birthday!” and walked on. Maybe they don’t do anything special for birthdays. A new waitress (who had an experienced waitress helping her) brought our chips (had to ask for more) and took our drink orders. Our iced tea was room temperature. We had to ask for ice several times. One person had a cracked glass that had to be replaced. We placed our orders which took some time because of 10 people-understandable. But during that time, our drink orders were not refilled unless we asked. We had to ask for ice again. Once our orders came out, several of them were incorrect. The birthday person didn’t get the correct order and another person who ordered a taco, did not get his order at all. One container of corn and flour tortillas was placed in the middle of the table for 10 people. We had to ask for more. There were plenty of staff members standing around. The restaurant was not busy. Finally, the manager and another waitress started helping the new waitress. Eventually everyone got their orders, the food was good, but the presentation was lacking. The image on the menu did not match some of the orders received. Eduardo’s is a restaurant full of ambience, plenty of staff, good food, but poor service. When the check came, there were only charges for the food and drinks. After the waitress returned with the credit card, 20% gratuity was added!!! There was NO compensation for the problems incurred and NO acknowledgement of the birthday. I would suggest professional development from management on down. I would recommend a pre-printed order form for the waitress since language may have played a part in the mix up of the orders. This would help the waitress and the chef. Have the eating utensils on the table when guests sit down. They should not have to ask for silverware. Until that happens, we will not be back.

The Pasta House – Menu with Prices – 2599 Wabash Ave, Springfield

My Brother In Law wanted to go here for his birthday dinner, we were a party of 6. The service was extremely slow, it took 20 minutes before our waitress came over and took our drink order. She was rude and obviously stressed out. It took another 30 minutes before we were served our soups and salads. Those of us who ordered soup received soup that was cold and tasteless. So NONE of us ate our minestrone soup. Everyone who ordered a salad in our party took one bite and remarked that their salad was inedible. That was just an indicator of how BAD all of our meals were going to be. We received our entrees about 50 minutes after we placed our order. Three people in our party ordered pasta dishes. All the pasta dishes received were cold and clumpy, the sauces both alfredo and tomato were watery. It was obvious to everyone in our party that the pasta and sauces WERE NOT MADE FRESH. Two of us ordered chicken parmigiana. The chicken was cold, tough and tasted funny. It was obvious to us that our chicken parmigiana dishes WERE NOT MADE FRESH. The two of us only took two bites of our chicken dishes and decided we didn’t want to risk getting sick. So we did not finish our chicken. Our pasta side dishes were also cold and the pasta was clumpy. FRESH PASTA is never clumpy, so our clumpy pasta meant only one thing. My sister got the lasagna, her dish was at least lukewarm. However, she commented that her lasagna tasted exactly like the Stouffer’s lasagna you get in the frozen food aisle of your local grocery store. She was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the quality of her dish. Once our waitress served our entrees she completely disappeared on us. No checking on us to see if we needed anything, no drink refills, no removing dishes, nothing. We tried flagging down the manager of the restaurant, we were later told his name was Ken. Anyway, the manager saw us but ignored us. Our waitress finally came around to drop off the check and collect payment that was all. We made a comment about her disappearing on us and she just gave us a dirty look. On our way home we all agreed that the prices we were charged for COLD, TASTELESS, INEDIBLE FOOD was OUTRAGEOUS. That NONE OF US have ever experienced such BAD SERVICE and FOOD QUALITY. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back to The Pasta House and we will be telling everyone we know NOT TO EVER DINE THERE My family does not like The Olive Garden but we all agreed that The Olive Garden’s food and service is a MILLION TIMES BETTER than The Pasta House.

Erling Jensen The Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1044 S Yates Rd, Memphis

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner at Erling Jenson’s. This was our first time to visit and I do not know why we waited so long. . . We were greeted with a smile from the valet and the host and were immediately seated. Our server greeted me with a Happy Birthday and a very in-depth knowledge of the menu. There is a 5 course wine flight menu or you can order off the full menu. I opted for the full menu and my husband chose the wine flight menu. We started with cocktails – I had a Pearfectly Pear with Thyme. It was a sparkling wine with pear juice, so refreshing to start the meal. I ordered the lobster pancake and Lamb Chops. I was very fortunate to live on an island and I know how lobster is supposed to be cooked and taste. l wish I had ordered 2 of these! Yes, they were that delicious! The lamb chops were amazing! Cooked to a perfect medium rare and melted in your mouth with a sweet potato mash, carrots and asparagus. . . My husband enjoyed all his courses – the scallops were wonderful, the lamb sausage and mushroom gnocchi were fabulous. The sirloin strips were very good but could not hold a candle to my lamb chops! LOl! My DH said the wine pairings were spot on and enjoyed all of them. Sharing and tasting all the wonderful food is encouraged. By the time we got to dessert we were stuffed but my husband shared his with me. His dessert was very eclectic consisting of a Lychee popsicle with kiwi pearl jelly and had a fun presentation with edible gold. Different but very delicious. . . Even though I did not order a dessert the server wanted to acknowledge my birthday and brought two very small triangles of chocolate pound cake with edible flowers and gold leaf with a candle. She was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night!. . You know you are in a GREAT restaurant when everyone is enjoying the food so much that literally NO ONE was on their mobile phones!! Very unusual these days. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant! Chef Jenson definitely knows his stuff!! We will definitely return!

Steam Restaurant and Bar – Menu with Prices – 9 Estell Lee Pl, Wilmington

At the restaurant ” STEAM” The salads and the soup was specially delicious. The noodle dish I wasn’t fond of the flavors, and our waitress “Brittney” removed it, apologized and brought me another choice. She was an attentive waitress. The bread is Fresh & crispy with lots of fresh butter. The staff are very accommodating and cordial. The hotel is beautiful And very modern and upscale. It’s a little noisy in the “Steam” restaurant because of the acoustic value is lacking because of all the flat walls and the glass. I would highly recommend this for a gathering of a large group of people that can accommodate you. The managers cocktail hour was fabulous. Brad, the bartender was amazing and kept us laughing. He even made a birthday drink for my sister and named it “Sandy”. It made her night. it was a wonderful evening dinner and getting to meet new faces at the cocktail hour. Check in with “Christopher” was a breeze. The bellhop was very helpful too.The hotel suite was fresh and modern. Beds were extra comfy and there was a huge TV in bedroom and living room. The bar/sink was perfect and small frig and microwave was perfect for late night herbal tea and popcorn. The complimentary breakfast was four star. Fresh custom omlettes, cereal, french toast, pancakes, bacon & sausage, bagel, muffins, fresh fruit, OJ & apple juice. Nice coffee bar with to go cups or mugs. We will definately return.
