I moved to Baltimore from New York City four years ago and was thoroughly disappointed by Little Italy… I am ecstatic to say Angeli’s is a gem and what this neighborhood needed! It was like being in a mom & pop pizzeria back home, truly a spot that has the potential to be cornerstone in the community for those with a laptop in the corner, on a quick lunch break, or out with the bea. Walking into a fresh, clean, bright, and welcoming environment, we were immediately greeted, provided menus, and encouraged to sit anywhere to peruse the menu until we were ready to order. There is bar seating, communal (or for large groups) and individual tables! Good playlist in the background to provide privacy but not too loud that it takes away from the overall experience. Great vibes from every staff member and guest, there was no ‘where is my waiter’ as it was truly a team effort; we wanted nor waited for nothing! While is it walk up service (order at the counter, food delivered to seat) the service was so phenomenal that I did not have a moment to order at the counter. The food was delicious and ample portions with a price point that will not break the bank! The cocktails are made fresh to order, I believe one of the managers actually muddled the ingredients for my mojito which was orgasmic! Photos included: deco, menus, margherita pizza, eggplant angeli, meatballs, limoncello raspberry cake, tiramisu, chocolate cake, spumoni, lemon Ice, Pia’s hazelnut chocolate flute

Midnight Bakery – Menu with Prices – 11th St S, St. Petersburg

This is awesome! Delicious dessert, baked fresh when you order and delivered hot to your door??!! At 2am?? I had Classic, which is a sort of chocolate chip cake-like cookie, with chocolate drizzled on top. And Honey Badger, a butterscotch and honey flavored cookie-cake. Servings were generous, I ate some still warm, melty and fresh and had a couple leftover to eat for breakfast! I love new, small businesses because they add personal touches and really care about the products they create. Fantastic! Keep up the good baking! I can’t wait to try one of the specialty items! How the heck are they keeping ice cream cold and fresh-baked stuff fresh on the Peanut Butter Fudge Soufflé- when it’s delivered??? I will just have to find out!! ?

Magdalena’s Bistro and Crêperie Menu with Prices 1200 10th St #103, Bellingham

My husband and I visited Bellingham for a small get away. I was ecstatic to find this restaurant because they appeared to have a fantastic menu, and I had been craving crepes for a long time!! So, we happily sat down and Left couldn’t wait to see the menu. But, unfortunately we never received a menu. Despite there only being two tables of customers and plenty of available seating, we still patiently waited. My husband and I watched someone who may have been the owner walk over to greet customers right next to us, but we still received no greeting or a menu. It’s not like the establishment is has a million tables! She proceeded to walk past us with no greeting and walked back into the kitchen. We patiently waited thinking maybe they are just very detailed about their crepes to make 1/3 customers wait so long without a greeting or menu. By the way, there were two other employees there as well. Finally, we stood up to walk out. One of the employees walked toward the menus and placed her hand in the menu. As we walked near the door, she took her hand off the menu and walked back behind the counter. She never said hello, can I assist you, please have a seat…not one peep. I typically would not take the time to write a review, however, their behavior has earned the award for the worst service ever!

PowerFuel Fit Nutrition – Menu with Prices – 2085 W 76th St, Hialeah

I hate to leave bad reviews but I can’t say anything good about the service except the fact the lady behind the counter kept her cool despite the fact that she was more than likely a brand new worker and left with no one to help her. There was only one other person before me and she argued with him about his order saying that she couldn’t put a veggie patty on his wrap because it doesn’t come like that even though the customer (who was right finally) told her that it does very politely. All I wanted was a protein shake. There’s a paper menu when you walk in that we all looked at to make our order but the worker behind the counter had a stapled piece of paper with all the food and drink items so she could make everything. The menus are different and she kept getting confused with what to make. I ordered off the menus available, she started to get flustered, and so I pointed to her menu and asked for basically the same thing but with chocolate protein powder instead of vanilla. Still got my order with vanilla. Shake is okay but I’m not waiting 10 minutes to be helped to still not get the shake I asked for. They need more workers, one menu, and other employees that answer their phone because the poor girl was trying to call for help and no one answered.

African Delight Cafe and Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1180 Bloor St W, Toronto

Really wanted to love this little restaurant, but sadly, could not. My partner and I arrived around 5:30 pm on a Sat and walked through about 4 men hanging out at the door, and made our way inside. Not glamorous, but not the worst. We found the only booth that didn’t have dirty dishes at it and sat down. We waited a bit to see if anyone would welcome us, maybe bring some menus, but sadly no one came. My partner thought maybe we needed to go up to the counter to order, located at the back of the restaurant, since it seemed like the place to be with about 5 men gathered around, chatting with the only female staff who was working the back counter. Nope, thought wrong. Was handed some menus and told my partner to press some dodgy doorbell button that was located at each table, when we were ready to order. Figured out what we wanted, and pressed the button, and waited. And, waited. And, waited some more. Sigh. All the while, it was still social time in the rear of the restaurant, with loads of men walking up and down the aisle, heading for some basement social club destination at the front, seems to have more luck being served, then us. Needless to say, we ended up just getting up, and walking out.

NorthBlock Coffee – Menu with Prices – 640 Commercial St NE, Salem

After having one of the poorest dining experiences ever down the street, I wanted something positive to end the night on. I had walked by this place earlier and delighted in its openness and brightness. I’ve been a fan of IKE Box and loved seeing this new chapter in their story. Amazing people. On the wall is the phrase “you are the hero of your story”. There is love here. I was a bit baffled at finding what beer to order. Menus weren’t easy to find. But the guy was cheerful and helpful and gave me all the aid I needed. I settled on chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. I sat down at a table and soon they delivered them out to me. The cake was nice. It wasn’t too sugary and didn’t have a bucket of icing. You know how you buy a cake at the store bakery and there is three inches of diabetes on top? Not here. It was just the right amount of icing to compliment the cake. It went well with the dark beer I ordered. I am thrilled this place is here. I look forward to coming here more often. I have a professional causal meeting coming up and I can’t think of a better place than here to go. This place is a beacon of light in what has been a slowly growing and revitalizing downtown in Salem.

The Cookie Bar – Menu with Prices – 6290 McLeod Dr Suite 120, Las Vegas

I have nothing but glowing reviews for The Cookie Bar! The flavors they offer and so fun and inventive and the cookies are well made to boot. However, I knew they were going to get my return business when I (last minute) asked if they would be able to to do a personalized cookie cake for my nephew’s 21st birthday. They were personable, friendly, and so professional in taking my order. They worked with me in personalizing the cake with an actual photograph and made the other decorations very “21st birthday” specific. Of the photo options I gave them, the photo they chose translated perfectly onto the cake. They delivered it earlier than I would have anticipated and were prompt in notifying me of delivery. Moreover, the price for the cake and delivery were great. I can’t say enough about how fabulous I think this company is! Thank you, Cookie Bar LV, you did a phenomenal job!

Blue Ice Gelato – Menu with Prices – 6878 E Sunrise Dr Suite 140, Tucson

I stopped in for the first time yesterday, and I’m so in love with this gelato. The shop is simple and small, but the gelato is excellent and overall experience here was really great. The man behind the counter (I’m sorry to say I didn’t get his name) was enthusiastic and encouraged us to try nearly every flavor in the case — something I always want to do, but never feel like I can! The gelatos are so delicious, absolutely bursting with flavor. There were a bunch of chocolate flavors, but the hands-down best was the “Mint to Be”: a chocolate mint with a subtle orange flavor. I could eat that every day and never get sick of it. Other chocolate standouts included the Chocolate Amaretto (dark chocolate with almond), Italian Tagalong (chocolate peanut butter), and Gianduia (chocolate hazelnut). Other flavors that wowed me included the blueberry cardamom, the vegan(!!!) sweet potato and coconut (it tasted like the best pumpkin pie), and the fig mascarpone. We’re told that the flavors change on a regular basis, so I’ll definitely be stopping in again to enjoy Blue Ice again!

VilleVelo Bake Shop – Menu with Prices – 1465 NE Prescott St, Portland

Have you ever had something so tasty that you can’t stop thinking about it and crave having it again? Well, this is the problem created by VilleVelo Bake Shop. I stopped in here last spring while on a break of the little homes tour. VilleVelo is truely a tiny bakery – with lots of choices. I selected a quick snack for the road, and also picked up a few other items to take home for later as I had company from out of town. Over the next few days we tried everything and each was delicious, but what stands out most was the wonderful slice of german chocolate cake. This was no ordinary slice, It was a big slice, big enough for my house guest and I to share for the next several days. Remarkable was that it remained fresh tasting all that time. Even more remarkable was the wonderful flavor and texture, as the cake was moist and smooth, the frosting was creamy and cruncy fromthe nuts and even a little chewy from all the coconut, with just the right chocolate, coconut and nut flavor, with none being too strong or sweet. Now for the BIG problem with little VilleVelo; It’s their changing menu! Particularly that they feature a different sort of cake everyday, where they should instead be makign me my german chocolate cake!!! I have been back several times in my quest of another slice of heaven, but have not hit it on the right day. Hey VilleVelo, please make some more of your great cake!

Sushi Factory – Menu with Prices – 3700 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne

All review complaints about service are true. I’m not a fan of sushi but agreed to go since they had hibachi menu too. Arrived @7pm on Sat. Restaurant was 1/3 full but no one to seat us except owners(?) 10yr old son. Ordering is very simple, fill out card with seat number, your food choices and server picks up the order. Server never introduced herself nor offered to answer any questions, just grabs the order slips & left. 20-min goes by and no drinks, no food. Others who sat down after us were already getting their food. Mentioned this to two different servers with only minimal acknowledgement. Waited an additional 15-min for food and only one order came out, they lost the other order. Place a 2nd order for the missing order and waited another 10-min for that order. This poor customer service continued the entire visit. Had other peoples’ food delivered to us three times… once it was just dropped off & picked up later to be delivered to the right table… they’re luck we didn’t touch it or sneeze on it. I have to wonder if our missing order was delivered elsewhere? Watched this happen at other tables the entire visit. The person I was with, liked their sushi. I ordered soup, salad &hibachi and was not impressed. Ginger salad had a bitter after taste…?spoiled dressing?. Tried Miso soup for 1st time… is it suppose to taste like burnt wood? If so, I won’t order it again, if not then it’s the chef! I ordered shrimp, chicken and steak as well as fried rice. The fried rice was pathetic… I’ve microwaved left over fried rice from other restaurants that tasted better. The order of shrimp was good but was only served 3-medium shrimp. The steak was dried & overcooked. It was less than 1-ounce chopped into cubes 1/4in wide. The chicken is 1/2-in wide strips of chicken and was no more than a mouth full. Each serving came in a bowl the size of my palm. This size bowl is used in other Chinese restaurants to serve desert! For a $23 all you can eat meal, you get full on a small amount of food waiting 10-min for it to be delivered between each order. Any other Japanese or Chinese restaurant would be better…many offer all you can eat sushi too.

Waffles On Maple Metairie – Menu with Prices – 4650 W Esplanade Ave #100, Metairie

I have only been here once, so I will revise my review when I have gone back. Park, then walk in and order at the counter and pick your seat. Ordering is tricky because all of the menus are at the counter and blocked by other customers. Because I could not see the menu until I got to order, I quickly just ordered an omelette. It was good. I wish they had put the butter on the toast while it was warm so it would be melted. The tables are so close together, it was difficult to move without hitting tables and chairs. Everything was clean inside. But the cashiers were white, as was the lady busing the tables and all of the customers. I wonder why there was no one of color at all. The prices were reasonable, and the food worth the price. I am on the fence as to whether or not I will be back. And the fact that they had FOX news on was a bit unsettling. I do realize that being a kosher restaurant, there is a bit of a niche customer base they are attracting, but FOX news rubs against that grain, in my opinion.

The Office Cake – Menu with Prices – 1460 NW 107th Ave, Miami

Ordered a cake for my job as one of our long time employees was leaving the company after 20 years. We planned a luncheon and instead of ordering a regular cake I decided to order a custom cake. I thought about the Office Cake and went online to try to get ideas. I couldn’t find one so I called them. I told them what I was looking for and they told me to look at one of their designs “Don” which I did. So I went ahead and ordered this design and told them the words that we wanted on the cake. I wanted it have it delivered to our office but I found out that delivery takes place between 11 and 4 p.m. and there are no guarantees that our cake will deliver by the time I specified so I place the order for pick up. They have two locations one in Doral and one by Tamiami park. I chose their Doral location as my work is in the Doral area. When I went to their store in Doral, the store is filled with cake samples and it so happened that a bride was choosing her wedding cake on this day. The service was friendly and quick, they brought the cake which I was a tad disappointed that it looked kind of small. I was ordering for 10 employees. However, this cake which I had chosen for 7 people was plenty. So, don’t be discouraged. The cake design was very nice, unique. It as a cake with a champagne glass a top of the cake, inside the plastic cup there was some kind of gelatin or jelly like substance that was edible and made to look like the beverage. I chose the German chocolate filling. Overall, the cake design was great, the cake itself was delicious, the customer service outstanding.

Simply Vietnam – Menu with Prices – 3381 Cleveland Ave, Santa Rosa

We used to really like to come here. You used to order at the counter, take a number, and sit and wait for your food to be delivered quickly. It was very good and very quick. They have recently changed the eat-in service to a more conventional restaurant service. We were seated and then waited for a waitress. She brought us water, but couldn’t take our order. After finally taking our order we had another long wait for spring rolls. Then another long wait. Finally we had to flag our waitress down and ask if the main course was coming soon (we had been there 45 minutes by now). She said it should be soon. Finally we asked if we could get the main courses to go as we needed to get to our next appointment. Then three tables around our table started complaining that the food they were served, and had started to eat, was not correct. We finally just asked for the bill for the spring roll appetizer we had been served, but then that took so long we had to walk up to the original order counter and wait, just to pay the bill. Please get rid of the assigned table seating and go back to your old way of service. There is nothing “Express” any more at Vietnam Express
