My husband and I love a good seafood restaurant and have passed by AM Seafood many times while living in the area for the past 8 months. We always had good intentions to stop, but often found ourselves at places that we were more familiar with, like Red Lobster or Joe’s Crab Shack. And it’s not like the competition is so good that we didn’t want to go anywhere else. It was rather like an old shoe…comfortable and familiar. We knew the menu’s, the prices and the specials and just found ourselves absentmindedly going to the others without thinking too much about it. I was even guilty of stalking AM Seafood’s website and Facebook page, and still lingering in the distance, before giving them a try. One day, I got a hankering for seafood and I called my husband and said, “Be ready…I want to try AM Seafood tonight!” So last Saturday, we finally found ourselves pulling into the parking lot for dinner. The building and lot don’t look like much from the road. In other words, they don’t have much curb appeal. So we were pleasantly surprised walking in and finding a nice warm ambiance. Now let me explain, they aren’t fancy by any stretch. But a nice quiet, cozy seafood restaurant they are. It wasn’t busy at all, and we were greeted and seated by our waitress immediately. A few tables were occupied by seemingly other lovingly couples on dates. As with most restaurants we are trying for the first time, we had already looked over the menu online prior to arrival, and had an idea about what we wanted to order. We wanted to order an AM Seafood boil pot. However, we were a bit confused by the setup on the menu. Were we to order 1-3 items from the left list AND 2 or more items from the list on the right? Or do we just choose a column? Well basically you can pretty much add anything to your boil from either column, and each boil is served in a bag with corn on the cobb, potato and sausage. We were going to be splitting our boil, so we had intentions of ordering the snow crab legs and the large shrimp. However, after talking to our waitress who suggested the Dungeness Crab, which we’d never tried, we went with the snow crab legs and the dungeness crab as opposed to the shrimp. She said they were meatier than the snow crab. We got the non spicy, garlic butter flavor for our boil. Prior to our boil coming, they brought a pot full of supplies…2 plastic bibs, 2 sets of plastic gloves, plenty of wet wipes and 2 stainless steel crab crackers. We giggled…we’re not going to need all that. We don’t eat messy. Ha! You should have seen how fast we were in the bibs after squirting crab juice all over ourselves (we still used greasy fingers though). We were a mess, but we enjoyed ourselves. The food came out in a steaming hot bag as noted. It had one small potato (a half each), two small mini corn on the cob ears and literally two bites of smoked sausage. It wasn’t even a chunk..it was literally 2 slices. So I immediately felt like we got kinda cheated out on the sausage. They shouldn’t advertise it with sausage if you’re not even getting a small wedge. When I make my own boils at home, I put a couple of small wedges in; not two slices the size of pepperoni’s. As for the seafood, the seafood was fantastic! I cannot rave enough about how delicious everything was. Enough that it is now my favorite seafood restaurant in the area. My only complaint was really the fact that they really skimp on the sausage and potatoes. Still yet, it was enough food for the two of us. Neither my husband nor I were fans of the dungeness crab, and will stick with the snow crabs or king crab next time, but we will definitely return. Nice location, delicious seafood (which is the most important) and our waitress was also very attentive and helpful.

Wild Crab Seafood – Menu with Prices – 275 Park Terrace Dr Suite 200, Columbia

I knew visiting South Carolina we had to get our seafood boil fixings and thankfully we found this place to try! From the restaurant decor to the very last bites of food, everything was amazing! For a Saturday afternoon it wasn’t extremely packed and busy so we got seated right away! We got our drinks and looked through the menu. We were able to pick out what we wanted in the boil. My husband and I went with snow crab legs, headless shrimp, crawfish, and their seasonal blue crab. It came with corn and potatoes. They also had a kids menu with non seafood items which was great for our little one since he can be picky, so we just got him chicken nuggets and fries. Before everything came out, we got bibs and gloves. Great option for those who don’t want to get down and dirty! Everything was delicious, flavorful and we we’re extremely happy with our food! The only complaint I have is that our waitress didn’t check up on us frequently so we ended up staying longer than hoped. Aside from that, we are super pleased with our experience and will definitely find ourselves back there soon enough!

Crab Fever Nashville – Menu with Prices – 1907 West End Ave, Nashville

I was craving crab legs so bad so i looked at a lot of reviews for crab boil/steam pot style restaurants and found Crab Fever to have amazing reviews…..so we headed there on a Friday night. The atmosphere is adorable, very nautical, the service was excellant, which is why I hate to give it an average review. My son ordered the Lobster cajun pasta, the lobster was very rubbery and the sauce was too overwhelming but it was a nice size portion, warning – the lobster comes in the shell…….I ordered a crab boil, it had snow or dungeness crab and Alaskan King Crab, i ordered that more expensive one because I wanted the King Crab, unfortunately it was such a horrible texture and taste, the worst I’ve ever had…..the other crab was delicious and perfect! The mussels or oysters, i forget which one it had were abnormally large and rubbery and did not taste good….the clams were great and i didn’t eat the crawfish because i don’t like the looks of it and since i am from ny I did not grow up eating it and I cant get into it……they pour the whole bag on the table, I asked them to keep mine in the bag afraid it would be to messy…..we did have the fried calamari as an app and i can tell you it was the best i have ever had…..so this place is hit or miss…..i feel like the quality of the seafood is subpar and that is what makes it just an average meal….i have had better shellfish at Joe’s Crab Shack……our bill was $100 and that is too much to pay if the food is not awesome, hopefully they can invest in better quality shellfish and improve the quality because this place has potential!!

Simply Steamed – Menu with Prices – 2545 Sandpiper Rd, Virginia Beach

The family was vacationing in Sandbridge for the week and wanted some seafood. Spending all day at the beach and pool, then having to clean up and go to a restaurant just sounded exhausting to us. So we searched around and found this little gem! We were so glad we didn’t have to actually leave Sandbridge to pick up some seafood, since there is a small selection of markets/restaurants in the area. Their placement of this establishment is really genius. I definitely recommend the pots – we built our own so we could create a pot with a little bit of everything in it. It was all delicious! Yes, you have to take it home and steam it on your stove or grill, but it only takes ~40 minutes. It smelled so delicious and was definitely plenty of food for all of us! Our favorites were the shrimp, king crab legs, and snow crab legs. We’ll definitely remember this spot next time we’re in Sandbridge. Nothing better than enjoying delicious seafood in the privacy of your own place right on the beach.

A&V Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 2000 Cecil Ashburn Dr SE #107, Huntsville

Amazing seafood at reasonable prices! We get about 10 lbs. of crab legs a few times a year, including the day before Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve. I also recommend trying their homemade seafood gumbo. It’s delicious! The owner is very kind. Their health department rating is PERFECT. The crab legs are the largest and freshest I’ve found in Huntsville. Boil or steam them, crack the leg in half and the meat just slides right out! If you like seafood and don’t mind boiling, steaming or whatever your chosen method of cooking may be, you need to visit this seafood market! I hope it will be here to stay in Huntsville permanently. We love it and will be customers for life!!!

Storming Crab? Seafood Restaurant Lexington – Menu with Prices – 4009 Nicholasville Rd, Lexington

Seafood on land? Yup! Some may probably give a side eye but the seafood craving is real. Came in to venture and it was a pleasure. Who would have thought? Thunder, rain and lighting, storm me away but Storming Crab seemed to be the next best thing here! One out of their seven locations and the only one in Kentucky, they’re conveniently located along Nicholasville Road near the Fayette Mall. Service was excellent and ambience was good and chill! Sat down and was greeted by “Is anyone here allergic to crabs?” Good laugh! Handed us the whole shebang – seafood bibs, cracker, picker, and gloves. The complimentary seafood bread was amazing, soft and tasty, with crunchy crust, gooey cheese, and delicious crab tidbits on top. Can’t blame you if you want more, you can also order it as your appetizer for $4.99/4pc if the complimentary serving wasn’t enough. They were thaaaaaat good! Not a case of vandalism coz they let you use their marker – you’ll see each and every corner of your table, all over the walls, booths, left, right, up and down, all the way up to their bathroom stalls some random names and dates, sometimes with sweet quotes and sayings written by previous diners. Imagine Love Lock Bridges without the locks. It’s norm for everyone to leave an imprint of their visit. Of course we felt the desire to jump on the bandwagon and did it too! We wrote our names on the window blinds. Hah! Create your own lunch or dinner combo. 1/2-lb order comes with potatoes and 1-lb comes with corn, sausage and potatoes. Seafood options are crawfish, shrimp, clams, lobster, dungeness crab legs, snow crab legs, king crab legs, scallops, and mussels. Choose your boil flavor between crab house cajun, old bay butter and garlic butter. Heat levels can be mild, medium, hot, very hot, super hot or sam’s special. Got their Dinner Combo #5, served in a hot and steamy plastic bag, with juicy and delishy corn, potatoes, sausage, king crab legs, mussels, with shrimp substitute for crawfish, in garlic butter sauce and mild heat. Asked for extra garlic butter sauce coz I love to double dip and wolf my seafood down and dirty. Screaming yummy goodness that awakened my soul to amazing Allelujah delight! The cajun fried rice had nothing to write home about but it was a good compliment to our meal. The fried okra was delicious and crisp, loved it! One may think it won’t be the freshest of the fresh but does it taste good? Heck yeah! Will I go back? If I’m in the area, why not? No kidding, it’s absolutely an enjoyable meal! Sea food, see food. Come see it to believe it.

Bobo Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 2800 Montgomery St, Savannah

If you want seafood in Savannah, go to BoBos. This is our go to spot when the family comes down. Our first trip here we picked up 3 clusters of crab legs and a small sized low country boil and payed around $30 bucks! Swear it’s the cheapest and the BEST crab legs you will find in Savannah. I feel like I’m robbed going anywhere else, and how could you not? You’re going to PAY LESS and eat so much better going here. Each time the family comes into town we go here and pick up the works. This past weekend we ordered 15 clusters of crab legs (roughly 1.5 lb per cluster) and a medium sized low country boil (sausage, shrimp, blue crab, corn, potatoes) and the total was $180. SERIOUSLY. I couldn’t make this up. Fed the whole family (11 people) and I had lunch for 2 days lol. TIPS: get your seasons and hot sauce on the side. Often when they put it in its too over powering and takes away from the good natural flavor. It’s still cooked in a good bit of seasons so I promise you’re not missing out. CALL AHEAD AND ORDER. Call and tell them what you want and how long until you’re there. This place is super busy but the will accommodate for you perfectly. I called 6 hours ahead on my big order for the family and told them 6:30. At 6:30 I walked in, paid, and walked out happy. So definitely call ahead. It’s not in the best part of town but honestly don’t even worry about it. Everyone there is after the same thing, BoBos delicious seafood. I promise it is worth it to come down off the main streets of Savannah to pick it up and go have a picnic at Forsyth Park! It’s a perfect date!! BoBos all the way, best spot in Sav!

WING STATION – Menu with Prices – 619 S Pine Ave, Ocala

This is the second time we’ve gotten takeout from here and really liked it. The first time we got 10 garlic Parmesan wings and the shrimp boil with Cajun seasoning. The wings were good, a little small, but cooked well and we really liked the seasoning. The shrimp boil was very good and a good value, 25 medium sized shrimp cooked perfectly with potatoes, corn and a small piece of sausage for $12.99. This time we got the special party seafood boil and the 4-Piece catfish dinner. Again, I think they have good value for what you get. The seafood boil easily fed 2 people with 1 snow crab cluster,10 medium shrimp, 10 crawfish, potatoes and corn. It also listed sausage but we didn’t get any of that and I think there should have been 2 corn on the cobs for such a big serving of everything else. The fried catfish was also a really good value, 4 huge pieces of fish and french fries for $10.99. Give them a try.

Coastal Crab Company – Menu with Prices – 2911 S Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne

My family and I headed over to the Coastal Crab Company last night as we were trying to work our way through our Melbourne Yelp list. This was the closest and seafood sounded great. The building was small and we almost weren’t sure we were in the right place, but the inside is welcoming with a few tables and cute decor. The service was top notch from the second we came in until we left. They continuously checked on us as we ate to make sure everything was up to par and even helped another table who was unsure on how to eat a crab he had not tried before. My son, who is 22 months old, is rough in a restaurant at this age. Impossible to sit still, every question has to be shouted, and takes hanger to a new level. The staff were unfazed by him and continued to talk to him. The best part was when they brought out a live blue crab for him to see. He was mesmerized. It was really nice to see as a parent. So on to the food! I ordered a 1.25 lb snow crab boil and my husband had the blue crab boil. We ordered a side of rice and shrimp to go with it. It was more than enough food and tasted so fresh. Not sure if this is true, but I always judge the freshness of crab based on how easily the meat pulls out of the shell. This crab did not disappoint as all the meat came out in perfect lengths. Overall, a really great experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Favors and Flavors Menu with Prices 11775 Northfall Ln STE 103, Alpharetta

Hailing from the state of Florida and a new resident of Georgia, I have been jaded by the Georgia restaurants claiming to have ‘cajun’ inspired seafood. Unlike any of the other establishments that I have tried in the area, this restaurant was hands down the most authentic to cajun cuisine. We ordered 2 crab boils, bowl of gumbo, bowl of red beans and rice as well as the chicken wings and fries. For $17.95, the crab boils included 3 clusters of snow crab legs, 6 shrimp, 2 sausage, corn, potatoes and a world of flavor. The gumbo was incredible and probably the best I have EVER had coming out of a restaurant. It’s spice and flavor was appropriately accommodating to the rice. Not only was the food delicious but the culture of the restaurant with the friendly staff made the visit memorable. I would definitely recommend and visit when I get the cajun seafood itch!!

Pacific Seafood Distribution – Menu with Prices – 3170 Ualena St b, Honolulu

Oh brah.. This is the absolute place for FRESH shellfish-seafood!!! “We go fo broke for the Live kine…” (Yea the kalihi girl in me came out for a sec lol) Note: Now if u looking for fresh Fish.. this is not the place. My other half wanted Dungeness Live Crab for his birthday so I searched high and low on Yelp. Our usual place to get crab is Chinatown, cuz it’s cheap and convenient for us. New is good right? Located in the industrial side of Nimitz-airport area, Siri took us directly to this place. The wide double doors were opened and the 2 pleasantly Asian ladies greeted us with a smile. Small front counter area w/ large printed signs and pictures behind the counter. These are the list of what they have to offer for that day only or regular basis. Dungeness live crab was our goal. The Lady walked in back to pick a good size for us. It was about 3 lbs. comparing prices, It’s about $1.00 lb less than Chinatown. Also When we walked in, we seen them packing up some Snow Crabs. They was sorting out & prepackaging by weight, 2 lbs, 3lbs, etc. The nice lady twisted my bf arm into getting 2 lbs. of snow crab!! Lol. This is frozen fully cooked. Heating Instructions included. lastly, as a curious cat as I am, the board shows “$20.50 dozen Kuamoto oysters”. The lady was kind enough to show us the size and educated us about the oyster. As well the different other species of oysters. It was all interesting. So with a grin on me face I requested 1 dozen. So happen for this type of oyster, Kuamoto, you have to order at least 1 week inadvance bc it’s very popular and must buy it by the 5 dozen case. Woah!! They had a few dozen left over from a prev order so they sold it for whomever wants it. Overall experience was excellent. Def recommend all them shellfish seafood lovers to check this place out!! (P.S the best Snow crab by far!! No freezer burn!!)

J & C Crab Juicy Seafood – Menu with Prices – 1269 Main St, Worcester

Juicy Seafood deserves my 5 Stars because it’s a great reminder that dining experiences anywhere aren’t always solely about the food, it’s the attentive & hospitable service, exciting & memorable atmosphere, that sort of high energy that works together that allow for good memories to be made with the company you choose to dine with. My family&relatives love this place… always a great experience and as seafood lovers, we’re incredibly happy that they opened in the heart of our neighborhood. We have a favorite waitress who’s always been top notch and even gets hugs from Grandma. We never had an issue with their selection, the prices, the amount, the spicy garlicky seasonings, the freshness; Crawfish, lobster, mussels, fresh oysters, shrimp, snow crab, king crab legs, fried calamari, we order them all and share. When you do a spicy seafood boil, you need to order drinks, which go hand in hand for this kind of family style/celebratory dining experience; tall glasses of beer and scorpion bowls or even nice white wine. It gets real messy, Bib and gloves and all, but it’s all fun together and so, when there’s good company, good food, and good atmosphere, great memories are bound to be made and Juicy Seafood has accomplished that. That’s all that matters to me.

Mr. Boil – Cajun Seafood & Poke Bowl – Menu with Prices – 704 Mariners Row Suite 108, Newport News

Fourth time here! If this had been our first time here it would have been our last. So disappointed! Drove here from Richmond and walked in when the doors opened. Got our usual – snow crab boil. It was either overcooked or got down in the water during the cooking process. I had at least 3 crab legs that had NOTHING in them and more than a few that the meat that did come out was tiny. Some pieces were crumbly and inedible. You know I have always given raving reviews so this stings to write this. Both of our orders were like this. His order was a lot bigger than mine for some reason. And service this time: poor. The staff was lackadaisical at best. The hostess stayed on her phone. Then the staff all cluster at the door to check their phones. And finally, I think it is inappropriate to bring your child to work. She was well behaved and seated at the window seat behind the hostess. I think she may have been associated with the bartender as he brought his phone and she was allowed to face time with someone as she colored which became annoying as we were in the first table against the wall behind her. All in all I understand having an off day but the combination of things that went on make us reluctant to come back because our tab was not all that cheap. Sorry Mr. Boil. Not good at all. Get back on your game!!! Including a photo of your enthusiastic staff. Didn’t take a pic of the child as she is a minor and I would not do that. Need a new rule: no cell phones on duty. We actually noticed this last time too but it wasn’t as bad. Just before we left a server we saw from before (wears his hat backwards – don’t know his name and he wasn’t our server) asked how it was and my husband told him everything I have posted. He said sometimes the supplier doesn’t give crabs as good as other times and he would have given us a discount but we had already paid. Um, okay? ? Third time here. Celebrating fiancé’s birthday. Mr. Boil, why are you always so good and keep getting better. We actually came to Williamsburg and checked in our hotel intending to go to Bush Gardens and here we are. We get the crab leg boil. Again, the ONLY complaint I have is to tell your employees not to scrape the chairs across the floor. I almost hate to keep giving good reviews because I want to keep it our secret. Seriously, where can you get an entire crab leg boil for $19.99. Corn, potatoes, sausage included. Another plus. On the weekend the 2 hour parking places are not in effect. Stay as long as you like. If you are at Mr. Boil, that will come in handy. See you again!
