A little common sense and courtesy. That’s all it would have taken by the management of this establishment for me to not even write this review of what proved to be a mediocre and basic sushi meal, rather than to turn it into a negative experience that warrants this negative review. I say this because the sole reason that I chose this spot was because they are offering a coupon on the website LocalFlavor for $10 off $30 or more of sushi, a coupon which I grabbed and activated before going to the restaurant. When there, I ordered even more sushi than I normally would have to hit the $30 spend requirement, and everything was brought out as expected. The sushi itself was decent – nothing amazing but certainly edible – and overall I was content with the value given the coupon. However when the time came to pay the bill, I presented the coupon to the server who responded that they “aren’t taking this coupon anymore” despite the fact that it’s literally active on the LocalFlavor website with an expiration date of 9/6/19 – clearly still valid. Naturally I requested that the server go relay my concern to the manager, fully expecting that they would agree to honor the coupon and I would at the same time acknowledge that they’re not honoring it anymore… of course also recommending that they remove it from the LocalFlavor site if it’s not going to be accepted. Instead, unbelievably the server comes back to tell me that the manager is not accepting the discount and will not honor it, and furthermore will not even come out to my table to discuss. As you can imagine, I was not happy at all about this and made it known in my tip… pretty sad on the manager’s part to effectively take it out on his server’s pocketbook like that. But then again, the server was acting pretty powerless and unapologetic about it as well, so whatever. Ultimately, this was just a garbage exercise in customer service on the part of Ah-So Sushi, and they have lost the chance that I’ll ever come back in the future. Not that I would have been rushing back anyway, as the place is highly unspectacular – in a very old, run-down strip mall, very cheap and old servewear, and most importantly unspectacular sushi. You can do much better at other sushi locations very close by, so don’t make the mistake of wasting your money at Ah-So Sushi. Especially don’t expect for your coupon to be honored. You have been warned!!

Main Event Knoxville – Menu with Prices – 9081 Kingston Pike, Knoxville

I really do not like posting negative reviews, but feel I should give a heads up for all those going to visit. I went with my husband and 4 kids. We paid for an hour of bowling, which ended in the middle of the 10th frame… with no warning!! Not sure why the computer would not alert you of the diminishing time, but it didn’t. Then, went to eat. We were approached by an employee who told us we could sit anywhere. We sat at a long table. After a few minutes, we were approached by a different employee who informed us that there was no server there and we would have to move…. to 2 small booths, clearly not enough space to fit all 6 of us. A server came over and said she would have to get manager permission for a different table… and told us we could go back to the same table we had just been sitting at. At this point, I tried to order a beer. I had just been to the dmv for a new license with the star on it, and they issued me a paper license. The server said it was policy not to accept paper licenses! I told her I have my other license, but the dmv had put a hole punch in it. After the server spoke with the manager, they would not honor either! Frustrated, we left. Yes, there are a lot of activities for families to do, however the poor service we received ensured that we will not be back, and will let others know about the way we were treated.

Maki of Japan Menu with Prices 6000 Glades Rd # 1162A, Boca Raton

They had a fresh sushi sign hanging so I went in to order a Beginner’s Combo. But then the guy said they dont make sushi anymore so whatever is on display are available. I wanted a fresh sushi today. Not a cold, fresh from the fridge one. And cashier guy is on his phone IN FRONT while waiting for customers

Peruvian Ceviches – Menu with Prices – 1570 W 43rd Pl Suite 20, Hialeah

Worst service I have ever received by the two ladies working at the restaurant Veronica R. I Came with a BOGO coupon but they wouldn’t honor it. It was in English so they couldn’t figure it out and decided it was okay to tell me all the rules of previous coupons they have offered in the past. I cut them off and explained that has nothing to do with my coupon, please read it. But they wouldn’t admit they couldn’t read English, that lead to a back and forth of verbal insults between the 3 of us, what a waste of time. instead of just honoring the coupon and be on everyone’s day. No they had to call the owner which had no idea either about this coupon. Causing a show and scene in front of a family having lunch. I will never set foot in here or recommend this to anyone. At the end of it all the owner honored the coupon but the damage has been done. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Those two employees are horrible at dealing with people and playing the victim when if they would have READ the coupon instead of fighting with me none of this would have happened.

Homeport Foot Massage – Menu with Prices – 2116 Everett Ave, Everett

I received a coupon in the mail so I thought we’d check it out. Went inside and asked for 2 foot massages and presented her the coupon. They chatted back and forth for a few minutes which was kind of awkward, then told me the coupon wasn’t for this place (it had their address on it) I said ok whatever, we’d like foot massages… by now 5 minutes of back and forth between the 2 women had gone on and they said that it was only 1 of the women working (not sure what the other girl was doing) so they needed to call someone else in since there were two of us. By this point it was even more uncomfortable so we left to go to our usual spot in Mukilteo…. I’m not sure if they just did not want to honor the coupon, or because we are female but it was sketchy..

Le Pourvoyeur Fleury – Menu with Prices – 1432 Rue Fleury East, Montreal

Arriving at this place for brunch with our family, one server didn’t want us in with our little grandson, but then another server said it was ok. So much for a start! They didn’t have espresso nor any decaf regular coffe ?. They did not honor their $5 discount coupon CLEARLY part of their brochure that was handed to us by a person distributing these on the Promenade Fleury! The service sucked! Don’t waste your time and money!!

Thai Chili2go – Menu with Prices – 1887 E Williams Field Rd #101, Gilbert

Honestly, up until tonight I have been obsessed with Thai chili. Their pad Thai with beef is one of my favorite meals. I usually order on the app and then pick it up. I got a coupon in the mail this past weekend for buy one get one 50% off and used it as an excuse to order food. On the app it kept saying invalid promo code and so I tried it on my browser, but it wouldn’t work on there either. My sister was supposed to pick it up on her way home from work and so I sent her a picture of the coupon and asked her to show the cashier to see if they could make it work. When she got there, the cashier was super understanding and said he’d grab a manager. However, the manager made her feel extremely uncomfortable and accused her multiple times of trying to use a coupon more than once despite her letting him know we had never used to it and just got it. He insisted she was lying but that he would honor it to be nice. It was extremely rude and unprofessional and put her in a really uncomfortable position and so she ended up leaving with no food. Working in the food industry myself, I can’t imagine a business teaches its employees, especially managers, to treat guests like this and make them feel so unwelcomed.

Tosino’s Mexican Grill – Menu with Prices – 263 E Warner Rd #105, Gilbert

Went in based after checking website and seeing the great prices – $3.55 for a bean & cheese burrito is great when you have a crew of kids to feed and it’s the one thing everyone can agree on to it. Get there and it’s $4.99 – at Joyride in downtown Gilbert kids can get a burrito, drink, chips and salsa and an experience – even if ordered to go. With a crew of kids things adds up and when meeting up with friends with kids we’re always thinking of experience and value. To go at $3.55 a burrito would have been a dream as that would be under $20 with tax for 5 burritos. If you buy 5 at $4.99 that’s over $25 before tax . Business is business. I’m torn on whether to continue giving Los NOT our favs anymore of our business as they have horrible customer service and inconsistent pricing for extras like adding pico. If you’d honor your website prices you may have new customers. As a mom who buys burritos for a small crew of kids at least 20x a year, a $20 min order is $400 a year, that’s real money. Would love to see more accurate pricing and will be happy to visit again if you become better priced and actually honor web pricing when told. As a business owner I can’t advertise to my potential customers the price of my basic service is $50 per my website then when they visit tell them it’s actually $60, and that I’m sorry I didn’t update my website. I sent my son in a couple times to pay and I thought the bill was high or maybe he pocketed some dollars, now I know why things didn’t add up. Not cool.

Fuji’s Grill & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 305 SE Chkalov Dr # 105, Vancouver

So let me start off by saying the food was great and service was as well. I am a VerizonUp member and was given a local offer for this restaurant. The coupon stated free dinner entree with purchase of a dinner entree of equal or greater price. Discount will not exceed $12. I got Steak and Shrimp my fiancée whom is vegan got the tofu and veggies, we both also ordered two sushi rolls as well. So when I shown the server the coupon once we finished our meal, it came as a huge shock to be told, and I quote ?oh that has to be used with combos only? and when I asked for clarification on what exactly a combo means to them I was told that tofu and vegetables are not considered a combo. Due to this incident I will not be returning back here. The coupon did not say anything like such and I meet all of the criteria for said coupon. Luckily had the funds to cover the bill with or without the coupon. Just bad business practice for sure and if I felt up to it I would have pressed the issue more but didn?t. Would hate for other VerizonUp members to encounter the same issue.

CVS Pharmacy – Menu with Prices – 1800 Saratoga Ave, San Jose

Just terrible service. The old cvs on prospect was so much better. Facility was old but service was great. This new cvs has been a disappointment on several occasions. I have reduced my shipping at cvs more than 50 % because of this one store. They don’t accept coupons which are not even expired. Once they told me I can’t use the $off coupon with% off coupon. That was a first I said and they gave me 1800 number to call which I called and I was told that I can very well use them together as I have been doing for years. On other occasions also they have just given out 1-800 number instead of making any effort for solving the issue. Once I tried to use my extra bucks and they said it’s been used before!? Really!! I never used it and don’t they collect them from customers so how could I have it . Complete rubbish! They didn’t honor it ultimately ..such stingy behavior; ruined CVS for me:( Manager Paul seems to get an anxiety attack if there are more than two people in line. He couldn’t resolve a simple issue. I bet a regular cashier could have done it but I got stuck with this anxious manager. When I expressed my dissatisfaction he just shrugged it off. Extremely dissatisfied..Why this new cvs has to come in my neighborhood. We were so happy with the old one even though the building was falling apart. Service matters much more than fancy decor

Señor Tequila’s – Menu with Prices – 9959 Main St, Fairfax

I came here with my boyfriend and his sister. They absolutely loved their meals. He ordered a fajita burrito and she ordered the Cabo salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had great taste. I had the “create your own” and just don’t waste your time on it. Seems like they take the crappy already made ones for other orders and stick it on the plate. Beans are good though. The reason for the two stars: We had a coupon for a free appetizer. Told the sever BEFORE we ordered we had it and she said that’s fine and give it to her when we ask for the check. We went to pay and the sever said that she didn’t know how to process it so the manager got involved. The manger said that the coupon was already used and that we couldn’t apply it to our check. Mind you it was an $8 bowl of guacamole, which is normal price for fairfax. After my boyfriend explained we’ve never been here before and also the only reason we decided to try the restaurant was because we had the coupon and it would’ve been a great opportunity to try a new place in town. He (manager) with an obnoxious tone told him (my boyfriend) was wrong that he cannot use the coupon because it’s been used and they will not take it off the check. So again, my boyfriend said that it was the first time it was being used that the coupon states “click on the coupon to use and present to server.” So the manger realized that… after 2 minutes of back and fourth the manager had the audacity to say “that was for US to click not you, I’ll go take it off the check.” For a $60 meal for three plates, you’d think they’d be nicer to get tipped well… right? Customer is not “always right” however as someone who has worked in the restaurant/customer service industry you should never give a customer attitude. Won’t be back, Chewys is worth the extra 10 minute drive.

el Thrifty Social Charlotte – Menu with Prices – 1115 N Brevard St, Charlotte

This place was awful. As soon as we walked in the door on opening day, a man who was at the door started telling us where we could and couldn’t sit and then went on a tangent about how people have been kicking, pushing, and ruining the swing chairs and outdoor furniture during the soft opening and that we need to be careful not to do that. We are literally the first customers in the door at 4pm. Are you planning on giving that speech to everyone as soon as they walk in about how they need to treat the furniture? Then, we thought we were just going to get drinks so we went to the bar, decided to get food instead (before we even sat!) and told the bartender we were going to change to a table, if that was okay. He ignored us and just picked up the menus and pointed to the hostess stand. We go back up again for them to bring us to a table and we sit down. I’m not sure why “thrifty” is in the name for $10-12 margaritas and drinks and over-priced Mexican inspired food (not that I don’t absolutely love Mexican food, but how many of these trendy, pricey Mexican-inspired places does Charlotte seriously need?) but no matter because we were there for the specials anyway. We waited for a few minutes in an empty restaurant before a server came over. We asked her about the happy hour menu we saw posted on the El Thrifty CHARLOTTE location website with $5 margaritas and $3 tacos. She went and got a manager, and the manager came over to explain to us that in North Carolina you can’t have happy hour specials. We explained that we knew that, but their website listed it, so we thought it would be offered. I showed him where on the website. He repeated the same rule to us over and over again as if we don’t live in Charlotte and he hadn’t already told us twice. He did offer a free appetizer, but did not actually apologize for the confusion and their website being inaccurate. We ended up leaving because ultimately we were there for the happy hour specials, and three different people had given us a negative experience within our ten minutes there. We were looking for a new place, but none of us will be returning.

Bagel Factory 2 – Menu with Prices – 2112 Oakheart Rd, Myrtle Beach

Worst experience in a decade for me at any eatery I’ve frequented. Read my other reviews and you’ll see I always give an honest opinion. My folks are retired and live in Carolina Forest. They had a coupon at this establishment for a BOGO free breakfast. I go in one morning in May (the place is dead–a tell tale sign indeed), tell the woman at the counter I have a coupon, she mumbles something under her breath, I tell her I want a bagel sandwich and the free one to be the exact same; with MAJOR NASTY NYC attitude and accent, she tells me to read the sign taped onto the front of the counter. I read it and it says that in order to use the coupon, I have to buy 2 regular priced drinks!!!! I tell her that it doesn’t say that in the coupon (the coupon simply says you buy one breakfast, you get one free—nothing at all about buying 2 drinks anywhere in the coupon) and that I expect them to simply honor what the coupon says. She rudely says no and that if I want to use the coupon, I have to buy the 2 drinks. I say no—we just keep going back and forth—I tell her that it’s false advertising, she says she doesn’t care, that if I want to use the coupon, I have to buy the 2 drinks. I say, if you aren’t going to honor the coupon as it’s written, I’ll just leave and I won’t buy anything (the few people in the joint hear every word of all this)…she says fine. I tell her I won’t be back either and she says she doesn’t care! Unreal experience. I’ve used coupons my whole life and I’ve never, ever, had a business try to add in additional purchases in order to honor a coupon. It’s like going to the Home Depot to use a coupon that says if you buy a charcoal grill you get a bag of charcoal free…you go in and buy the grill and the cashier says, oh, if you want the free bag of charcoal, you also have to buy a 50 dollar grill cover. Wth? Who would be dumb enough to do that? Seriously? No question the lady working the counter is a moron; probably doesn’t care that I’m even on Yelp reporting this. Whatever, I’ll never be back, nor will my folks and my mother said she’ll tell everyone she knows (and she knows a ton of people) to steer clear of the place. I’m from the South originally and have always loved Southern hospitality; this establishment employs rude and obnoxious people that deserve to go out of business, not to mention completely dishonest. If you read other reviews of this craphole, you’ll see that they’ve treated other customers exactly the same. No problem; no shortage of bagel joints with transplanted New Yorkers/New Jerseyites that know how to make a good bagel. In fact, there’s a competitor just up the road on Postal Way called Jersey Bagels right there in Carolina Forest. I’ll gladly give them my money as they are honest and have manners. This joint here, Bagel Factory II can stick it!!!
