If you’re looking for chicks with champagne bottles topped w/ sparklers and guys wearing skinny jeans this is NOT the place for you! Instead what you will find among the friendly (and good looking) bartenders is a good mix of hard working El Pasoans unwinding after a long work day (or week). Whether you’re flying solo or with a group you’re definitely going to have an awesome time while enjoying one of their many drink specials. Look, all I’m saying is that if $3.00 Jameson or Fireball or even $2.00 Kazi’s don’t do it for you I don’t know what will! Now stop reading this and have an Uber bring you here, like yesterday! If you’re already here well I guess you can check-in and rate them!!!

The Charleston Pour House – Menu with Prices – 1977 Maybank Hwy, Charleston

We’ve lived down the street from this bar/venue for over 1 year, but had never entered. Had a handful of unfortunate experiences at the nearby Kwei Fei, perhaps that prevented us from crossing the threshold. About me & my sig other, we are from Utah, and between the 2 of us have lived in: San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Miami, and New York City. Walking into this slightly dive-y joint, was a breath of fresh air for us. Never considered to be a hipster, but live music patron; damn skippy. The space is much larger than the street preview would let on. The major interior is open air, which is awesome. Lots of tables & standing room. Bathrooms be damned, no maintenance, no soap-bring pocket sanitizer. It is refreshing to be in a space where the diversity of the patrons is celebrated. We forgot where we were, lost in the local punk bands of the night, cheering Jameson shots & enjoying a much needed release from the pollution of daily life. It is my understanding this space showcases bands nightly, locals & tourists alike, do check it out. Distraction is a necessary antidote to daily life. Cheers!

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – Little Creek Shoppes, 3858 E Little Creek Rd Space 21, Norfolk

Hated it went in with a good mood left without it. I went to order my sandwich and asked for my spinage to be added before it gets toasted [i like the chesse melted on it] to which the lady with the noes ring rolled her eyes i was confused but didnt say anything about it. She walked off and finished another customers sandwhich and when she came and set mine up i mentioned “the spinage will need to be covered cause it will burn” after seeing she placed it on its own side rather then under the cheese she snaps at me saying she knows and they dont ussualy do it this way then picked up all the meat and cheese and flopped them on the spinage side. I have PTSD from a incident in my teen years and at that point her snapping at me made my heart rate increase and i cassualy asked my boyfriend for the car keys to “get my phone” wich was just so i could go outside for a sec to calm my heart rate. Went back in and luckily he was done with her and handed me my cup i went over and was annoyed again seeing no tea of any kind i dont drink soda and reluctantly got viatamin water. Went to sit and eat unhappily i came in excited and happy to eat before going to the garden nearby but left in a less then happy mood i get it was easter and she probbaly didnt want to be there but the way she acts was NOT acceptable and made me not only have a episode but wrened my day.

The Rook & Pawn Menu with Prices 294 W Washington St #300, Athens

So a little explanation: We went to Athfest 2019. After all the times my best friend has told me about this place, all the times she’s tried to convince me to drive to Athens so we could go there, all the different games and events she’s seen happen there, my heart seriously breaks for her. She felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed she now will never go there again. I’m so disappointed in the staff and I hope the owner hires people that actually want to bring in more business. This is what happened: We go inside so my friend can get a drink during athfest. She’s always wanted to go in that bar due to their amount of games and her favorite shop is next door (epiphany). I got a beer outside before we went in and then waited for her inside on the couch while she ordered. I over hear her say “I love this place! I’ve always wanted to come here! I work nearby… is there anyway you can make a Green Tea shot for us?” After about 5 minutes she comes up to me really upset and says she wants to leave. I immediately get up and go outside with her. She’s about to run off when I stop her. She proceeds to tell me about how she saw they had Jameson, Peach Schnapps, and Sour Mix. So she asked them for a Green tea Shot (our favorite drink between the two of us and how we celebrate that we’ve gotten of the house/Also it’s the easiest recipe ever that I’ve posted below) and this chick proceeds to tell her “um, we don’t make that here. This isn’t ‘Wonder Bar.’” My friend is now outside embarrassed and on the verge of tears. The employee could have said, “I can’t make that for you, is there something else I can make?” Or “we don’t do shots here, is there another drink that I can serve?” And neither one of us would have been upset because we’ve been told that before. To go so far as to make her feel horrible for ordering her favorite drink is just sad. I’ve been a server and she’s been a server. There is no excuse to make someone feel that horrible when they come in, complimented your establishment, told you how bad they’ve always wanted to visit, then order a drink that’s easy to make, and made to feel unwelcome there. Recipe for a Green Tea Shot: *1/2 ounce Jameson *1/2 ounce Peach Schnapps *1/2 ounce Sour Mix *afterwards we went across the street to Clocked and even though they didn’t know how to make the drink, they still asked how to make it and happily made it for us without making us feel like horrible people. So shout out to them!

Roll & Poke – Menu with Prices – 3311 Preston Rd #5, Frisco

I walked in and was greeted by a really friendly welcome. I ordered the fireball appetizer with crab meat inside, caterpillar roll, and created my own poke bowl. The fireball wasn’t as great as it looked on the menu whereas the caterpillar roll was professionally presented and tasted pretty amazing. The poke bowl was okay as they gave a decent amount of toppings but not as much as I am used to in other places. They also didn’t give me as much rice as I would have liked. However, the environment is still very cleanly and you can also help yourself to some complimentary miso soup if you’re dining in! All in all, it’s a great casual sushi place if you want pretty reasonably priced sushi and if you want friendly service.

The Pickle Room – Menu with Prices – 122 E Canon Perdido St, Santa Barbara

Very cool “locals’” spot certainly worth a try! I don’t come to this part of town often, though would argue that it’s easily the heart of downtown SB. When I do find myself over in this neighborhood, I try and make an effort to patronize this spot. Walking in here is a treat. The Pickle Room has more of a lounge-y, relaxed vibe which is a nice break from the bustle of the other bars in the area. The dimly lit room and nostalgic decor bring you back to an era of simpler times and true blue cocktails. Places like this aren’t all too common in our town. Whenever I do come here, I HAVE to order their signature Pickle Back shot, which is essentially a healthy pouring of Jameson Whiskey accompanied by an equally as healthy shot of pickle juice! The practice is to shoot the Jameson and then chase it down with the pickle juice. Sounds like a weird pairing, but it actually works well! A must try in my opinion. Don’t come here if you’re looking for a rowdy sports bar-like environment. Do come here if you are looking to get away from the craze downtown but still want to keep it classy. I’ll be back soon!

American Legion Post #38 – Menu with Prices – 1857 Jackson St, Fort Myers

Apple Annie’s – Menu with Prices – 130 E Government St, Pensacola

We had a blast here last year and returned this year with friends. We saw an ad advertising college night with one dollar domestic beers and two dollar well drinks. We arrived at 6 pm to have dinner and drinks before the dueling piano show started. We asked about the drink specials and were told that the specials did not start until 8 pm. The young waitress said they do have a happy hour until 7 pm. We asked what were the happy hour specials. The waitress said she doesnâ??t usually work evenings and did not know. The only diet soda option is a Diet Coke. Every time we had a question, the waitress had to go ask. A friend ordered a coke and received a rum and coke. The dinner and appetizers were good. We finished eating and walked next door to the piano bar. Since it was after 8 , we ordered the drink specials that were advertised. Nobody new anything about the one dollar beer specials at any of the bars. Their drink prices are good compared to other bars but not as advertised. The dueling piano show was awesome. We had a great time. The entertainers were all very talented and funny. This is a fun place and very entertaining. The bar stools at the tables are very hard and very uncomfortable. We will return.

Sushi One Spot – Menu with Prices – 10990 Foothill Blvd #110, Rancho Cucamonga

My best friends and I actually had our very first Racist encounter here! A man from the table next to us had kids and my best friend had a her kid, and i guess her kid took a flower from the mans little girl. So he then got up and started yelling and scolding my friends 4 year old. we got upset becaise we told him that if their is a issue with her child that he should address her and not the kid. So he said ” Okay, I will!” he then came over to our table and started saying things like ” you f****ing Mexicans! why dont you go back to where you came from!!? you are all good for nothing! nothing but cleaning and washing dishes! go back to your country! can you believe it? this man yelling racial slurs and telling us to go back to our country happems to be asian? i told him “go back to OUR country? im going to take a wild guess and say youre not from here either! well and even if you are im pretty sure your ancestors are not! if i am a minority so are you!!” he then has the nerve to sit at our table, and continue to harrass us. The sad thing is that the entire staff saw and heard what was happening and no one stepped up to at least ask if we were okay? or say “sir, this is a family restaurant” NOTHING!! they would walk by amd stare and then walk away!! completely aware! this man was raising his voice, just making a complete full of himself! other patrons were also aware of what was happening, and nothing. As he sat at our table as we were trying to pack up our food and go, and kept saying “yea put all your food away, thats all you mexicans are good for! cleaning. NOTHING ELSE!!” and then this poor bus boy comes over and of course he was of latin descent and he points over at him and says “see!?” very dissapointing! His wife was mortified and started packing up tp leave the restaurant so they left before us and then a guest at the next table behind us comes over and says “im sorry you guys had to deal with that” all I could say was “yea, real sorry. no one stepped up to even tell him to lower his voice” and we left!

Sagamore Hill Lounge – Menu with Prices – 150 Park St, Portland

I’ve probably been 3 times now since they opened and have mixed feelings. They deserve credit for the interior. If you’ve never been, it’s worth going just to take in the beautiful job they did redesigning the space. There’s quite a bit of seating at the bar and some scattered cozy tables, including some ideal for groups of 5-6+ people. They have a few craft draft beers (cans as well) and it’s an alright selection, nothing that makes me go out of my way to get a beer here. The main focus is definitely the cocktails and they have some pretty creative options. For my taste it’s not quite on par with Vena’s or the Jewel Box, but better than Blythe and Burrows. Everyone has their favorites. The guys tending bar here are very friendly and seem quite capable of making the various cocktails, but we’ve had some pretty long waits. None of our visits have been at extremely busy times, but at least once there was only one bartender present and one of the tables of six asked for another round and in addition to some other drinks being made, we probably sat at the bar for 10-15 minutes before able to place a drink order. Another time one of the bartenders spent a good amount of time outside smoking, which could be fine but the other bartender didn’t seem to know or at least we had to try to make eye contact several times to get a booze refill. On one of our visits the smoke alarm started going off (LOUD, can’t talk over it loud). Turns out by being in the lower level of a housing building, if anyone in the apartments/condos upstairs burns a piece of toast the alarms for the whole building go off and they don’t stop until the Fire Dept. arrives and turns it off. They cleverly offer $2 or $3 Fireball shots when this happens, which is a nice touch, but also suggests it happens often enough they need to have a special. We fired down some Fireball as did our bar neighbors and it was all at least a little funny, but probably only the first time. I guess maybe it’s not just the beer offerings, it’s overall not a place I would frequent unless I really need a break from the usual suspects. That being said, the beautiful space and creative cocktails make it worth visiting to find out for yourself.

Hide A While Lounge – Menu with Prices – 9469 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

What i need to say about this Bar is that at a random decision was made last night to ask me and my friends to leave . so the weekend before we where hanging out with no problem. So the reason why we where asked to leave is because we are bikers that are in the upper age of 50 and we where told up we couldn’t be in there because we had a vest on . and too top that off i dont drink alcohol and one other member is sober also . we stick too ourselves my friends where there long before i got there and they yes they do drink . they spent there money and they where having a good time .and just so you know . bikers dont look for trubble . 9 times out of 10 its a regular civilian that causes trouble we avoid it . this is a clear sign of discrimination based on how you look . if I walked in there with plain clothes would that change who i am i am a biker and i love my life this is discrimination at its best this is not a kool bar dont get kicked out because your wearing the wrong team color
