I was surprised I hadn’t heard of this bakery before! They have pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and more. I came for cupcakes but they didn’t have any; left with a sugar cream pie instead and I’m not mad about it. It’s phenomenal. I also tried their pumpkin cheesecake, which they make from scratch. I ordered one immediately. She’s now taking Thanksgiving pie orders so stop in and order yours, too. There’s also plenty of space and tables for you to sit and enjoy your treats right in the shop, if you choose to do so.

Treats of Mexico – Menu with Prices – 724 Telephone Rd, Houston

In love with this adorable little spot. Probably because it’s basically a shop that sells my childhood. From the paleta payaso to the mazapan, Treats of Mexico had an amazing selection of, well, treats of Mexico! It’s not all packaged goodies though. What brought me to Treats of Mexico was the concha ice cream sandwich. For a delicious, Houston heat-friendly version of an old breakfast classic, order your concha with coffee or chocolate abuelita flavored ice cream. I had mine with chocolate abuelita ice cream and it.was.awesome. If you like lighter flavors, they have other intriguing ice creams like rose petal, which sounds lovely. If you’re not an ice cream person, have yourself a mangonada! Or maybe some chicharrones. The shop itself is little but adorable. Most of the interior is taken up by candies and toys and other delights. There are two tables outside and two inside. When I came in one of these was taken by a little girl studying. Pretty sure she was the owners’ daughter. This place is clearly a family operation and it made my day to enjoy one of their delicious treats!

Taqueria el Torito – Menu with Prices – 2515 Freeman Mill Rd suite b, Greensboro

If this was asked of me before i stopped comming here they may have gotten 5 stars. I will no longer come in this place. Me and my family used to go here january to May we ate 3 times a day (everyother day) $35+ a visit. I thinks its the owners daughter or sister they look just alike.. I tell them everytime i go in there she doesnt listen shes too busy speaking spanish talking junk she isnt listening. I get the same thing all the time im in there all the time well i used to be and she still say she doesnt remeber and if she does she messes the order up anyways like my smoothie. Its not that hard to be quiet stop talking junk and make the food. But shes rude. I told her the last time i was in there my family will never be there again if shes still there. I havent went back since and this was almost 2 month ago. Ik our business was just somemore money but ive told everyone ik because that girl is just so rude. Hire people who understand both languages and if they speak spanish make sure there not talking about customers while the customer is inside the store. They’ve lost my business completly.

Paleo Mama Bakery – Menu with Prices – 409 S Few St, Madison

Paleo mama products are so yummy that I willingly a drive 25 minutes away just for these treats! I think my favorite are the chocolate cupcakes but it’s hard to choose, because everything that I’ve tried has been amazing! The magic bars are crazy good! The cheesecakes and cookie dough are dreamy! It’s hard to believe there’s no refined sugars or flours in anything so delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could try one of their cakes but next time I’m in Wisconsin I know I’ll go out of my way to stop by the shop with more products….and I’ll probably stock up because some items are available frozen. You don’t even have to be paleo to fall in love these treats!

Shotgun House Coffee Roasters – SoFlo – Menu with Prices – 1010 S Flores St Unit116, San Antonio

Really enjoyed my time here today. Great menu, without SO many choices that you get overwhelmed, but still plenty to choose from. My cold brew was velvety and brewed to perfection. LOVED that there were no disposables; the drink came in a mason jar and I was asked about using a straw (no thanks) so nothing went in the trash at the end of my visit. It’s a hipster, spare (in a good way) space to sit in, with the initial room with the counter and just one table opening into a larger sunny space and then yet another room (darker, more intimate) space in the back. Great place to hang out. No food on the menu that I could see, though what looked like some nummy treats in a clear case out front. Really friendly barista. Would return ?

Jerry’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2601 N Mulford Rd, Rockford

Food is awesome donâ??t get me wrong, I have been a customer since they opened and I will always be back. But our waiter was AWFUL! I donâ??t know what kind of restaurant would hire such a person. Chris came to our table looking like a street server, he had a snapback hat, his pants were sagging, and wore a chain. Disgusting. Greeted us fair but as he took our order he pulled a chair and SAT DOWN TO TAKE OUR ORDER. What a joke… Throughout the whole time we were there we would see his actions repeated to every table. Sitting while taking other tables orders. He spends a lot of time on his phone and has his back faced towards his tables. Heres where it gets interesting, We asked him if he was new and he replied saying that heâ??s been working with Jerrys Cafe for 8 years and that he is basically the manager at both Jerrys Cafe locations. I donâ??t believe Chris only because I have met the manager and she is a sweetheart! Too bad shes more at the Beloit restaurant now..plus she knows how to run her employees! But Chrisâ??s customer service ethic is horrible. Restaurants with employees like him will go down the drain and it would be upsetting if this amazing restaurant had to close.

1418 Coffeehouse – Menu with Prices – 1418 K Ave, Plano

So I decided to stop drinking Starbucks for a bit and start going to local coffee shops here in Plano. We have so many it’s hard to choose one. Since I was near downtown I decided to check this place out based on the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. I’m pretty picky when it comes to coffee so it’s always a risk trying some place new. They are a cute little shop with plenty of seating and people were there early on a Sunday (9ish) working away on their laptops and enjoying coffee with their friends. The inside has a lot of plush couches and chairs and of course they offer WiFi. I immediately went to the counter and was greeted right away by two smiling faces! I asked them for their best drink and they directed me to The Purple Haze. It’s a Lavender and Vanilla Latte and I love sweet drinks so I ordered it. Y’all! I can totally see why it’s their most popular. It was like sitting in a field of lavender on a spring day. The wind blowing your hair back (I don’t have much but it’s a fantasy so let me enjoy it) and there is a sweet scent of Vanilla in the air. It was sooooo refreshing! Definitely on the sweeter end (I like sweet) so be forewarned. They have plenty of sandwiches and pastries for those in need of substance to pick from. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Parrishâ??s – Menu with Prices – 4425 S Mountain Rd #111, Mesa

What an incredible little find! We were working in the area today and we were looking for something a little different and boy did we get lucky. When we arrived we found there here was ample parking and it was easy to spot from the road. We parked and immediately the entry was beaming with curb appeal, large and inviting, with a nice curb side ramped sidewalk area if you are in the need to drop anyone in your party off at the door. There was also a nice relaxing couch area in case there is a wait to get in or if you are waiting for your ride to pick you up. Once you enter you find a nice spacious and well decorated area and are met by a very gracious staff and the daily specials board. We were seated right away and offered to make our drink orders immediately and brought near as fast. The menu was a treat in itself in that it was so varied and unique that it was a volley of suggestions as as we discovered new choices to announce as we had just discovered our all time favorite after favorite after favorite. We decided on the Black and Blue Steak Sandwich and the Wedge Salad and both were amazing with the freshest tasting ingredients, ample sized portions, and perfect presentation. There is a full length bar area to enjoy cocktails, low and high sit down tables, booths, and a great outdoor area to enjoy the it all and the great weather too. The staff invited us back for the NFL package which we will be taking them up on. If you are in the area stop by you will not be disappointed.

Socra Tea Detroit – Menu with Prices – 71 Garfield St Suite 50, Detroit

Loved it! I am an avid tea drinker. I buy herbs online and from a few local shops and herbalists. I am most certainly adding Socra Tea to my suppliers. Unfortunately I couldn’t make the Yelp elite event this past Saturday, but was thrilled that this tea house was selected as a stop on the self-care tour, “Yelp Spring of Self Care”. A coworker had previously suggested I stop in because of my tea love. The huge space is in the basement of 71 Garfield, a collective of businesses on Garfield Street just east of Woodward. The building decor is warm and welcoming, with a mock fireplace and comfy chairs. The yummy aromas from Socra Tea fill the lobby greeting you at the front door. Upon entering the space, it seems a bit overwhelming as there are lots of things that immediately catch your eye. There are tea pots, diffusers, mugs, cups, branded tshirts, aprons, cookies and other treats and a whole wall of gourmet teas to peruse. Teas are served hot or cold. I opted for a carryout of iced elderflower tea and purchased a box of tea bags for my blends at home. Prices are moderate, gourmet herbs are well worth each penny. So the atmosphere inside the shop…I walked in grooving to the music and sang throughout my entire visit. There is tons of seating, which is a good thing, as I hear this shop gets crowded. I eyed a comfy couch that has my name on it when I return for my next visit with a good book. There is a pottery space in the back of the shop where classes may be taken. Street parking on Garfield is available, but premium. There’s also a lot on the side of the building and an adjacent entrance door.

Fiiz Drinks – Menu with Prices – 2654 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Henderson

I’m not even a soda drinker, but I still love trying all of the cute soda shops popping up around town. Especially, Fiiz since it’s my closest soda shop. The location is easy to find, in the same shopping center as Blaze Pizza at Horizon and Eastern. There’s plenty of parking. The inside of the shop is cute and clean. They have a long soda shop counter with stools. There is also an area with a couch for lounging and plenty of tables. The tables all have a cute theme. We sat at the Vegas Golden Knights table. The employees were friendly and welcoming. They were happy to answer menu questions and prepared orders quickly. The menu was nicely organized by the soda base. For example, one board had all of the suggested drink combinations with Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper. Monster is also offered as a drink base. Cookies are offered as snack too. The sodas that we ordered were delicious, nicely presented, and reasonably priced. I ordered a Sprite base with blue curacao that had a nice flavor and was a nice suggested combination of flavors. My husband enjoyed his soda too.

Delaware Chicken Farm & Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 4191 FL-7, Hollywood

Wow wow wow. I guess that’s the best place to, describe this place. They have been open, for business, I believe 70-something years. Yes this definitely, qualifies him as a historical location. The service there is super amazing. Everything is fresh. Their lobster tails are, to die for it. They have a large variety, of shrimps, you can buy them already peeled, or unpeeled. This salmon is beautiful. If you’re interested, around Thanksgiving time. You can call in and place your order for a beautiful turkey. Try to do it early, at least a week, before Thanksgiving. I will be totally honest with you. They received more than 14,000, orders for turkeys every year. They have to hire, extra police presents. Because they put cash registers outside in front of the store. Around Thanksgiving. That’s how much, the flow of customers, increases around Thanksgiving. There is disability parking directly in front of the store. And don’t let me forget next door they have a farmers store. Where you can buy every vegetable, that you might even think of, and you will find some, that you never even thought existed. So fresh, that the roots are still attached to the vegetables. Yes you heard me right. Customer service, top of the line. It is part of Delaware chicken farm and sea food. If you want to find some beautiful cherry red tomatoes. Take care of them. When you walk in, you will feel, that you are at a typical, Country Store. They also sell plants, a small punctures. You can buy cilantro plants. Oregano plants. Parsley plants. Tomato plants. Excetera excetera go and visit this place. It’s a must-see and go place. I hope I was helpful. Enjoy your visit at Delaware chicken farm and sea food. Because myself and my family, always leave with that experience. It is always a joyful time.

Rocco’s Italian Deli – Menu with Prices – 3627 Cass Ave, Detroit

Sometime in the middle of the night I woke up to take a Zantac. But let me tell you, the heartburn I incurred from the delicious spicy sandwich at Rocco’s was worth every incredible bite and I’d do it all again, no hesitation! Not their fault. It’s just the perils of my body chemistry and getting older! So yes, I had the Il Rocco and it was amazing. Spicy is not something I usually go for but everything about that sandwich sounded so good I had to try it. Taste-wise it wasn’t actually that hot. The fontina and the garlic lemon aioli really help temper it to create a heat you enjoy to eat, not just one that will burn your tastebuds off. It was enjoyable from edge to edge. The sandwiches are HUGE and could easily be split or enjoyed for a second meal (or, if you’re like me, you through all caution to the wind and eat the entire thing because it’s so good you can’t stop) and the price point is great, especially for the quality and size. The shop also has some lovely Italian imported dry goods and snacks, as well as plenty of locally made products as well. Staff is SO friendly and helpful and there’s plenty of comfortable to space to sit and enjoy your meal there or take it to go, like I did. Already plotting my next visit. But I’ll be sure to preemptively plan with an antacid because I’m now an old lady who can’t hang.

swissbäkers – Menu with Prices – 1 Nashua St, Boston

One cold evening and seemingly out of nowhere a Swissbakers popped up in front of my path. I am unsure of the countless times I have walked right past the storefront with no inkling of the establishment or it’s opening date. I think it was around October or November 2018 that it opened up for business because I remember seeing signs that said taking orders for Thanksgiving. The ordering was a fairly simple process. You completed a order sheet with what you want and the select the date and time of pick up that they have available. At the time of your pickup you present your name or receipts. From their seasonal menu, I highly recommend the pumpkin roulade. It’s $18 for a small, maybe eight inch roll. This may seem pricey but it was worth every penny. I ended up buying two for the Thanksgiving meal but after trying a slice, I ended up keeping one whole roll for myself instead of bringing both over to my parent’s for Thanksgiving dinner. I also ordered an apple pie but I don’t recommend the apple pie since it was rather dry. I also made the mistake of ordering plain croissants and pretzel rolls the day before Thanksgiving. They did not do so well the next day despite being reheated. Not cheap either. For breakfast I have tried their ham and cheese croissant. I thought the flakiness of the croissant was just right. The coffee and cappuccino were underwhelming. The price I would say is comparable to Starbucks but nowhere the same quality. The set lunch comes with a sandwich, drink, bag of chip, and a cookie. The sandwich, and I have only tried the ham and cheese and the turkey and cheese, were decent. I wouldn’t eat it daily due to the pretzel buns/baguettes that is used. My favorite part of the meal had to be their jam filled cookies which I find to be both tasty and delightful with the maple leaf cutout or smiley face cutout. Their cookies are buttery and soft. The jam is sweet and just slightly tart. Overall, customer service has been pleasant most of the times I have been there and the staff was generally helpful. The interior is very clean. The standing bar and bar stool window seating makes me believe that this was meant to be an order and go kind of establishment. And that it is not really a place to sit and stay for a long period of time.
