Visited this restaurant several times and each visit was pretty good until today. We ordered a cosmo and a lemon drop. Both drinks came out in a classic champagne glass which is half the size of a regular martini glass. The waitress explained that all regular martini glasses broke in the dishwasher so they had to switch. I personally wouldnâ??t care what glass it came in as long as the amount was the same for what they charge. \nNext, we ordered a medium rear steak and it came out overcooked smelling like sausage or BBQ. It tasted nothing like a steak, so the waitress went to find out what happened. She returned a few minutes later saying the cook did not clean the grill so the streak had spices from some cajun sausage and some other flavors from previously cooked food. Cross contaminate and cross flavor much??? The waitress apologized and said that she will take it off of our check. She also offered a replacement dish, but was quick to say that they ran out of steaks. This was only 30 minutes into the dinner service. How do you run out of steaks this quick??? Since I didnâ??t want anything else out of their kitchen with questionable health violation practices, we payed for the oysters and drinks and went to eat at the Cork and Flame, which is 1000% better than Abel Brown. \n

Winecow argentina steak house – Menu with Prices – 4900 W Expy 83 #380, McAllen

We came here for Father’s Day to try it out since it was a new place and were looking for a good steak place. When you come in the place it is very small (make reservations if you can). There are only two waiters and you think that should work for the size of the place. This is where it gets interesting. We ordered appetizers to start and they were interesting La Gaucha was what it was called and it comes with Blood sausage, chitlins, mollejas, and a regular sausage. The blood sausage and fried chitlins were a little much but if you like those thing I’m sure you will love it. The saving grace of our meal was our steaks. They were absolutely delicious and worth it. So, if you are looking for steak definitely go for it. Here is why three stars for my review. The service was really unacceptable for the amount of money you spend. I understand it is a new place but you need a food runner or another waiter/waitress. They forgot food from our order, didn’t bring us steak knifes with our meal, and were unsure of what steak was what temperature leaving us to figure it out. Our tab was in the triple digits and I have had better service at IHOP. Please focus on this and hopefully I can come back and update this someday.

Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar Menu with Prices 401 E, I-20, Arlington

7/17/19- went back and had the the worst service. Food was pretty good- I’d say 4/5 this time but the service was terrible. I got there at 5:45 and the hostess sat me and mentioned that happy house was until 6pm. My waitress came a couple minutes later and I ordered two waters right now and I’ll look at the menu (one for my guest that I was waiting for) and that I would. 10 minutes later she came back and said “I’m about to get the water for you, but do you want anything else?”. Seriously? My guest arrived at 6:02. The same time as the waitress brought me one glass of water even though I ordered 2. We ordered our drinks and food. Our drinks from the bar came after the appetizer and we forgot we ordered them. We were never offered refills, my friend just sat there with an empty glass of wine. We skipped trying the Beignets because the waitress asked if we wanted the just the check or if we needed to go boxes and a check. And we sat for over an hour with dirty plates in front of us while we talked. She came back to our table to see if she could grab the signed copy of the receipt but never even picked up a dish. Her hands were free to grab some since I held on to the little clipboard until I could figure out what an okay tip was for crummy service. I gave it another try, won’t be back this time

The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill – Menu with Prices – 209 6th St, West Palm Beach

Great ambiance and courtyard. Full craft beer bar which is also nice. However, the service at this place was non existent. After 10 minutes our waitress came over to introduce herself, she then said that she would be back to take our drink order, 10 more minutes comes back and asked us if we wanted drinks? After approximately 10 more minutes we received our drinks, 2 out of the 4 were absolutely wrong (how can you not know the difference between a lager and an ipa?). She then made us wait another 5 minutes for the exchange. So, in 35 minutes (while waiting at the table) we only received our drinks. Once we finally ordered, our food came out and it was another disaster. Two of the steaks were so well done (when everyone at the table ordered rare). Imagine that. In addition, every drink including our waters was empty when the food came out. Now we had no drinks, 2 wrong plates, 2 cold dishes while we waited for them to re-do the other two steaks and the waitress never even apologized. I can only see this place being in business for a few more month before it?s gone. I am not sure if the owners are aware of what a debacle customers are experience, but I had to share my experience because they could and should be doing better. By far one of the worst reviews that I could ever imagine writing for what could easily have been a five star experience. Sad.

Onos Hawaiian Grill – Menu with Prices – 4015 Fern Ave, Shreveport

Mother’s Day eve, dinner with my bride on a rainy evening. Excited to try something different! We were blown away by the beautiful and spacious interior. Even on a busy night, we were seated quickly, near the bar and the kitchen. Wait personnel , dressed in black swarmed the place. As we waited, and waited and waited some more we visited and kept our eyes open for our waiter.A couple was seated next to us, and on the third trip to their table by THEIR waitress,we snagged her. She was NOT or server but graciously adopted us for the evening. She was delightful. I drank a local beer, Judy shoes a small glass of wine. We ordered an appetizer that contained Fresh tuna. Both drinks and appetizers arrived reasonably quickly. Appetizer was beautiful , drinks good. We placed our orders and reordered more drinks. Food arrived and was beautiful and delicious. I ordered a dirty vodka martini as I wanted to assess the quality of the bar for possible future evenings of drinks and appetizers. Our meal finished, our original drinks consumed, we visited and waited, waited and continued to wait. A well staffed bar was seemingly slow? Our waitress appeared and we asked if the martini was coming? She apologized and went to check. We continued our evening, enjoying our quiet time . Finally, she returned with a small martini, glass adorned with three large olives. She said she had to beg the bar for my drink. She was visibly It was just OK, nothing special and definitely not chilled by shaking with ice. As I finished my drink, we asked for our check! It’s a good thing we were seated! After we added a generous tip for our helpful waitress, our bill was just shy of $120. I asked Judy, who was evaluating our check why so high? It seems that the bar is proud of their drinks. All drinks were overpriced. My martini hit near$15.00. The three garnish olives were billed at $1.00 EACH. In summary, the food was good and attractive, price a tad high- but not outrageous. The bar prices- be aware may not be what you would expect. We will return again, enjoying water or tea- unless lemon or ice cost extra!

Le Bayou Bar – Lounge – Cocktails – Wine Bar – Lottery – Terrasse – Menu with Prices – 4134 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal

It’s 9pm on a Friday and the place is empty save one other patron. We order a martini and a tequila sunrise. The bartender asks the other patron how much grenadine to put in a drink. The tequila sunrise miraculously tastes okay. The martini is not a martini. It’s a shot of vodka poured into a shot of vermouth. The glass is half empty and unstirred. We mention it’s a little skimpy for a martini and are told that’s the way they do it here. Before we even take our first sip the bills arrive. So much for setting a tab. Even the staff want us out. I can’t help but feel this wasn’t a bar so much as the concept of a bar. At least the washrooms were nice.

Orleans Bistro & Grill – Menu with Prices – 5442 Southpoint Plaza Way, Fredericksburg

Was staying in the area and needed a place to grab dinner. This place had 4 stars and seemed like a good choice. Ugh. Pretty disappointing. Walked in around 8 on a Tuesday and man was it loud. Believe they had trivia going or something. No worries tho, we sat in the back room so it wasn’t as loud. Ordered the gator bites. Without silverware, we devoured them then was finally able to get the server’s attention to ask for utensils. Then we ordered drinks. I, a lemon drop martini, and my date a draft beer. My “martini” came as a shot. Looking puzzled as it was delivered, the server said maybe they ran out of martini glasses but that it was the same drink and asked if I wanted to change glasses. I declined and said it was fine. I ordered the catfish with crawfish etouffee and my date ordered the LA Jambalaya. Both were quite disappointing. My crawfish tasted like it had been frozen and thawed 5 times before it was served. It was chewy and tasted disgusting so I didn’t eat any of it. The catfish underneath wasn’t bad though but some of the rice was crunchy and not cooked thoroughly. The jambalaya was soggy. The sausage was over cooked and the dish was basically all rice. Definitely not worth the $20. Definitely don’t recommend here for dinner and am a bit confused as to how it has 4 stars. The atmosphere seemed pretty cool for a bar though, so maybe drinks? Not sure. Wanna come back to try the chicken and waffles but can’t bring myself to do it as I don’t want to waste the money again.

Loukinens’ On Fourth – Menu with Prices – 517 S 4th St, Springfield

Planned to take the family out for nice meal. Eight of us in total. Made reservations and had no troubles getting seated on time with friendly staff. Waitress was prompt to get our drink orders. We also ordered a few appetizers. We got our drinks then ordered our main meals. At this point, it got really slow… took a long time for our meals to arrive. Majority of group had steaks, all steaks were cooked to order but the steaks lacked flavor overall, everyone in the group added salt and pepper and that helped. Others have made that same comment so it might be a trend on steaks here. They have you order a sauce for your steak. I don’t want sauce on my steak a good cut of meat well seasoned doesn’t need sauces. One individual had the scallops and said they were very good. The side items were very good, everyone raved about those. Even though it was getting late we decided to try desserts, these were also pretty good. Chef/owner did come out a couple times to see how everything was. It was a nice atmosphere, but it is geared for more mature groups; people having conversations rather than cutting up and being loud and laughing. We did get a few stares on a couple occasions when the young adult 20+ stared laughing about something said at the table. It is a higher end type atmosphere, overall food was good, portions were medium to small; which did impact overall rating because of the price to value factor. Also we raise our own beef and grill quite often at home, so my standards are simple and attainable. needs to be cooked to order and seasoned well – so there is no need for sauce of any kind. Most likely others feel differently, but that is my standard and most high end places hit the mark. This time during this visit; they cooked to order just missed out on the seasoning flavor.

exhale oceanside – Menu with Prices – 236 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside

Came here while on a business trip in Oceanside a few months ago after driving by and seeing the modern exterior. Their website promised in-house made blue corn tortilla tacos so went with colleagues the next day. Imagine my surprise when we found that this wasn’t a taco joint, but a very modern and mind-blowingly delicious space. The kitchen is separated by glass so you can see the wood fire grill over which whatever you ordered is cooking and the love the chef/ cooks are putting into what they present. We ordered the baked Brie with fig as an appetizer, and our lovely waitress Sky brought out a cast iron platter filled with roasted figs and Brie. I’ve had good baked Brie before, plenty of times, but this was top tier. My 3 colleagues each ordered the burger with cheese sauce for their entrees, all medium rare. As a testament to the skill in that kitchen, all three burgers came out EXACTLY the same and the cheese sauce pour was an almost sensual experience. How could it get any better? 5 words: Lobster, filet mignon, twenty-five dollars. UNHEARD of! And legitimately the best steak I had ever had in my life… until later that trip. Out of the week and a half that we were in town, we dined at Exhale 5 times. I’m not a repeat customer when I’m someplace new as I like to explore, but this was THAT good. Cioppino. Scallops. Swordfish. All amazing. Neither me nor my colleagues ever had a peep of negativity about any of the food. The last day we were in town, I decided to get the big plate: the $100 tomahawk steak. I saw that the chef would come out to present it and I really wanted to thank him personally for his amazing food. My two colleagues heard this and also decided to order them–each order a two person meal. After some bewilderment from our waitress and some cheese biscuits (which come with the order! I just thought it was A SINGULAR biscuit!), the steak that has ruined all other steaks for me came out. That, by far, has been the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. I cried. We still talk about those steaks nearly weekly and how they’ve unilaterally ruined steak for each of us. Don’t miss it… but maybe share the tomahawk with a friend.

Grain to Glass – Menu with Prices – 5921 N 23rd St, McAllen

I recently visited GTG for the first time since the reopen after the fire. Honestly it was disappointing. Things looked mostly the same as before. But there were several issues. First, it was uncomfortably cold inside. And since people outside were smoking that wasn’t an option. Second, the music was so loud that my wife and I couldn’t even talk to each other. Third, the service was terrible. It took almost 10 minutes for a server to even talk to us. And it was going to be closer to 20 before we could make an order. We came for the May the 4th event, which basically was just a regular day except that they offered a special glass you could purchase for $10 plus the price of the beer, making it $16-$20 for a beer in a souvenir glass. That’s it. The whole event. Pay too much to take home a glass. So the event was very disappointing. If you want a souvenir glass just go on a Wednesday pint night and you get the glass for free. (I have a cabinet full). Basically after almost twenty minutes of no service we decided to leave and go to whataburger where we had a delicious burger (in a matter of minutes) and could hear each other to talk. GTG needs to get their act together.

Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki – Palms Crossing – Menu with Prices – 3300 W Expy 83 Suite 145, McAllen

I just finished having dinner there, and service is always mediocre, but tonight was by far the worst service of all time! They sat us fairly quickly when we got there. And there was a little rush going on. The restaurant was pretty full. They sat us, and our waiter didn’t come around for at least 20 minutes. When he finally did, he didn’t even introduce himself, just asked, “what do you want to drink?” 10 minutes later, comes out w the waters, drops them off and rushes off. Comes back 15 minutes later. During these 15 minutes, I decide to go ask the “BARTENDER” at the bar if the Cucumber Martini has actual cucumber puree, or if they use a flavored syrup. He doesn’t understand my question, had to ask another server what they make their drink out of. My question was answered, so I go back to my seat to order w my server. Finally, our server comes back, asks what we’d like to order, I ask if they have TOFU at the sushi bar, And of course, He doesn’t know, so he has to go ask someone. Ya’ll dont. – okay, so I just order yakisoba w/ veggies. And rice with veggies. Oh yeah, and I ordered that Cucumber martini w the delicious puree. Food came out at a decent time, But I never got the martini, I never got the rice w veggies. He asks later if everything’s okay.. I tell him what I didn’t get, but to just forget it.At this point. I’m just kinda in disbelief w the forgetfulness of this server. And final, when we get the receipt, we get charged for the rice I never got. I normally dont leave reviews. But this was just WAY TOO MUCH! The server not knowing about certain items, Taking forever bringing drinks, Not bringing certain drinks, Charging us items he never brought. Not bussing the table, Heck, I think the manger was the one taking our dishes back.. The” bartenders” lack of knowledge on items ya’ll serve all day every day, like a freaking cucumber martini. It was very disappointing experience. More than ever before. Definitely not going back.

Wolfgang Puck Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 3333 Bristol St, Costa Mesa

My friend and I were in the area to see a show at the Segerstrom Center on a Saturday evening (7/20). We had about 45 minutes to get a quick bite to eat before the show. As we came in, we were seated and was told our waitress would be with us shortly. A few minutes later, another person came and got our drinks order and told us again that our waitress will be with us shortly. After about 10 minutes, the waitress showed up and said that she is finishing up with the outside table and will be with us in a few minutes. We sat there patiently waiting for someone to come and take our orders. Another 10 minutes had passed and still no one came. At this point we had about 25 minutes left to eat and walk back to the venue before the show started. We told one of the guy there that we had to get to the show and couldnâ??t wait any longer. He apologize and told us we didnâ??t have to pay for our drinks (ice tea & water). We wasted over 20 minutes of our time there and didnâ??t even end up having enough time to eat before the show. This restaurant had one of the worst service Iâ??ve experienced. It would have taken the waitress about 1 minute to take our order and had the meal started but instead we saw her walking in and out totally ignoring us. It wasnâ??t even that busy in the restaurant that evening! Sadly, we didnâ??t even get a chance to try anything except the iced tea. If I am in the area for another show, I would not go there again. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

David’s Meat Market – Menu with Prices – 4010 N Jupiter Rd, Garland

Wow! The smell in almost intoxicating when you enter the shop, worth the trip just for that. Incredibly friendly staff, I let them pick out two porterhouse steaks for me (like it mattered, they all looked amazing). One of the employees rushed to the register to check me out so I didn’t have to wait. The team exudes a sense of pride in their shop and products, it truly shows. The steaks were beyond perfect. I didn’t marinate them just a little salt and pepper, I’m salivating now just remembering them. I’m glad Kroger doesn’t carry T-bones anymore, it forced me to find this place. I’m taking the Wife over this weekend to pick up some of the house made sausage. David’s is family owned local business and has earned my loyalty from now on, no more grocery store steaks/chops/sausage in my home. Thank you for being there and for being so darn good.
