Tina does amazing work. She put together a cake for my organization’s 20th anniversary. It was gorgeous. Booking her and coming up with the cake was a three month process (that on me BTW not her). I had originally contacted her in August hoping to have her do a September event. It was a no go. It turns out cake decorators, especially good ones, get booked up fast. So I asked here about our November event instead. That worked with her schedule. I booked her immediately. In the process of finding here, I had spoken to a lot of cake designers and looked at numerous portfolios. We made all our arrangements via e-mail. It was a stress free and straightforward experience. The day of the event, Tina showed up on time with a gorgeous cake. Not only was Tina’s work lovely, she was lovely to deal with. The cake was simply DELICIOUS. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. Two things to note, Tina is a product of La Cocina. She is also a small business owner. Those two things, along with her beautiful work translate into :HIRE HER. Hire her now. You will be delighted with the effort.

Palasad South – Menu with Prices – 141 Pine Valley Blvd, London

We hosted a staff appreciation event at Palasad South. It was great. Our group of around 80 people had the option to play laser tag, bowl or billiards throughout the afternoon. Everyone had so much fun! Our servers Morgan and Taylor were fantastic and very accommodating. We were very impressed with the service throughout the day. They were not only prompt and accurate, but also extremely pleasant and patient with our large group. Booking the event with Tiffany was easy and stress free. She made sure that everything was taken care of so at the actual event everyone was able to enjoy themselves worry free. She was a pleasure to deal with and made the whole planning process fun. Thanks Palasad South for a wonderful afternoon! PS. The compliments on the food keep rolling in from our staff

Nutmeg Cake Design – Menu with Prices – 220 Krams Ave, Philadelphia

We can’t say enough good things about Meg and her work! We originally found her through her Instagram account, which is filled with images of gorgeous cakes that are all unique works of art. They are quite honestly the most beautiful cakes that I’ve ever seen. Most importantly, however, these cakes are every bit as delicious as they are stunning. Meg doesn’t make it especially easy to choose a flavor (they’re all so tasty!), but we are very satisfied with our choice of chocolate chip cake with vanilla buttercream. Our guests approved of our choice, as well! Real quotes from family and friends include: “This is the *best* cake that I’ve ever had,” and “I don’t think that I can ever eat cake from anywhere else again.” Behind her skill as both an artist and a baker, Meg is also simply lovely and so wonderful to work with. Our cake tasting was one of our favorite experiences during our engagement. Meg took such care in welcoming us into her kitchen, taking time to listen to what we wanted both aesthetically and flavor-wise, and working with us to create a cake that was perfect for us and our event. As a plus, the cake samples are generous ? We loved working with Meg and can’t recommend her highly enough. We are already looking for our next excuse to place another order…

Tinker’s Cake Shop – Menu with Prices – 317 W Maxwell St, Lexington

Tinker’s is the BEST cake shop in Lexington! Cameron is wonderful to work with and I could not be happier with the cake we received for our friends’ wedding yesterday. From the start with the beautiful cake tasting, we were incredibly impressed with Cameron’s professionalism and the options presented. He was very helpful with styrofoam cake shapes and sizes to demonstrate what the tier options are and what the finished cake size would be. He has lots of cake examples around the shop for inspiration and plenty of photos to look at. He also has several gorgeous cake stands available and bonus – a stand is included in the cake price! The tasting showcased lots of options and they were all delicious! We had the best time! Skip forward a few months and now it’s the wedding day. Cameron showed up exactly on time, with the cake exactly as ordered. Such a relief to work with a true professional for such an important event! The floral designer left flowers for him to put on the cake and Cameron did a fantastic job – the finished product was gorgeous. But here is the best part – the cake was absolutely DELICIOUS! I LOVE cake and this was actually one of the best cakes I have ever had (and definitely the best wedding cake ever). The piece I had was tiramisu and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something a little different and more sophisticated for their cake. And the frosting was incredible – it was light and airy and not too sweet. The entire thing was perfection. On top of all of that, the price was very reasonable. We feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with Tinker’s and highly recommend them. I can’t wait to have another opportunity to order a cake from them!

Christine Dahl Pastries – Menu with Prices – 22 W Mission St, Santa Barbara

Christine Dahl provided the cake for our recent wedding at the Santa Barbara Zoo. She was very professional and warm throughout the process, from setting up the tasting appointment to mailing us photos of our cake after the wedding! We went to a few tastings and Christine Dahl’s cakes blew the others away. We went with a white buttercream applied in a horizontal ribbon pattern and two flavors on the inside. (Different flavors for the different tiers.) One flavor was a half chocolate half white cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry filling (my husband’s pick) and my pick was a vanilla cake with passion fruit and coconut – I think this is the best cake I’ve ever eaten in my life. No joke. Christine Dahl seems to prefer phone contact over e-mail- I have phone shyness so I was a little nervous at first but it ended up being fine and more direct and she actually picked up whenever I called. I told Christine I wanted to have some succulents decorating the cake and she said she was familiar with the florist I was using (grassroots) so I told the florist as well and they took care of it – I never had to deal with it. All I know is, when I showed up at my wedding, a beautiful cake was there and was decorated with succulents that matched my wedding flowers. Her prices are very reasonable considering the excellent quality and it was easy to work with her within our specified budget and approximate number of guests. She’s a real pro. Besides being an excellent baker, it’s clear she has a lot of experience and runs her business professionally. I would recommend you go straight to her for your wedding cake!

Sweet Bakery Mexico Lindo – Menu with Prices – 212 Broadway, Chula Vista

I work nearby the bakery. Over the years, many employees requested a cake from here for special occasions. This trip I ordered a half sheet strawberry. The cake is a traditional white with whipped cream filling and fresh strawberries. The cake is extremely thick. I counted four layers. There is whipped cream in between each layer with fresh strawberries smack in the middle. Around the outside of the cake is sliced almonds and large whole strawberries with a sweet concoction that embellish the top. The cake was a hit with everyone. It is delicious. The ordering process was easy. Patty took my order. I had questions on what size to get. I was ordering for 50 people. They have a template to show you what the size of the cake is. It makes it stress-free when you can see how much you are getting and can visualize how large each piece will be. The cost for a half sheet is $80.99. Since the cake serves 50-60 people, I think it was very reasonable for the quality that you receive. I ordered the cake four business days before my event. They require a deposit but I chose to pay up front in case I was running late on the day I went to pick up the cake. When I arrived to pick up the cake, it was not decorated. However, it only took them a few minutes to add the strawberries and do the writing. Do to the thickness of the cake, cutting it is quite a challenge. Unfortunately, it does not always look pretty as the layers sometimes separate especially around the border. The taste of the cake makes up for the messiness. We will continue to purchase cakes from Mexico Lindo.

Cakes Come True – Menu with Prices – 13340 SW 49th Pl, Ocala

My son was getting married and he made arrangements with Donna to make the wedding cake. The wedding was cancelled and the deposit was non-refundable. I called Donna and asked if we could use the deposit toward a cake for another event. She said that would be no problem as long as she didn’t have another obligation at that time. My Niece tried to contact her several times about a cake for her daughter’s first birthday. Donna was not responding to her texts and would not return her calls. My Niece finally left a message saying she would have to use someone else. Donna then returned her call days later and said she would do the cake. The cake had already been ordered from someone else. Be careful if you are going to put down deposits. This is free money for the vendors if something happens so they are not going to put a lot of effort into providing the service.

Specialty Cakes – Menu with Prices – 1560 Wabash Ave, Springfield

If you want the best cake for your event, check out Specialty Cakes! They offer so much more than just cake but for our wedding we were looking specifically for cake. Cake tasting is probably the most exciting and anticipated event during the planning process! Specialty Cakes delivered with excellent flavor, presentation, easy process, and wonderful workers! Even though we all wanted to go taste more cake, we knew in the first few bites that we were sold. Who says a wedding cake has to be a boring white and chocolate cake? This place offers so many great options. My husband and I couldnâ??t make up our minds, so our wedding cake included 4 different flavors, White, Lemon, Strawberry, and Banana! They also made us an amazing Rumchata adult sheet cake and a Spice/Red Velvet sheet cake for all of us to enjoy! Our guests were incredibly happy with all of the options and raved about the flavor and design of our cake. We could not be happier with our decision on working with Specialty Cakes, they were tremendous with our whole wedding!

Babushka Bakery – Menu with Prices – 4724 W Armitage Ave, Chicago

I can’t tell you how easy working with Claudia at Babushka Bakery was for our July 2016 wedding. The wedding process is very time consuming between maintaining a job and attending all of the other wedding appointments that follow. Claudia understands and appreciates that time is precious during this time and does a lot of her communication back and forth through email. Her process is one that worked very well for my husband and I, as meeting in person was pretty difficult at times. Claudia was very responsive via email throughout our whole wedding process. We shared ideas of cakes we liked and went back and forth in formulating the design that met our expectations. Claudia was very helpful with recommendations and suggestions for flavors and style. If I haven’t sold you already, you will die when you do a tasting. Her work is outstanding and beyond beautiful. Most people think ehh its wedding cake no one really cares about it. NOT. SO. We had countless people comment on how delicious our red velvet wedding cake was. (Claudia also made a University of Michigan grooms cake which was a hit as well as recreated my parents wedding cake which was also very special and delicious. All received great reviews!) We saved the top tier of our cake to try on our one-year anniversary and I can tell you it’s been torture knowing it’s there and that I can’t eat it. I can remember countless occasions during the wedding process when I received an email from Claudia and it just felt like a breath of fresh air. She knows what she is doing. She is affordable. She is so so talented and very calming in nature. I would strongly encourage you contact her even if you are remotely interested. Trust me, she will alleviate a lot of wedding stress and her cakes are a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Check out her work on Facebook and Instagram as well, you’ll be glad you did! Now I am just waiting for my next opportunity to order a cake from her ?

Mr & Mrs Creamery – Menu with Prices – 2355 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena

I booked Mr & Mrs Creamery for my baby shower based on positive reviews I’ve read. After browsing through the website and seeing how wonderful the desserts and ice creams looked, I decided to book with James Lee. I have to say I am glad I did because James responded quickly and provided excellent service! When the day of my event arrived, his team forgot to pack the custom sugar cookies. I was a little disappointed at first because the cookies tied the whole theme of the party together. But James was kind enough to refund me for the cookies and even brought the cookies to me at the end of the event, which I was perfectly happy with. As for the desserts, all of my guests enjoyed the push pops. I ordered three flavors: strawberry rosemary (the most popular among my guests), Cookie Monster, and oolong tea. All the flavors were delicious! The macarons were also incredible! I also ordered a two tier cake and everyone commented on the delicious flavors! Not to mention, my guests also commented on the lovely simple design of the cake. Mr & Mrs Creamery is truly a one stop shop for all kinds of desserts! Not only does James cater desserts, he is also a photographer! He provided me with a link to images from my baby shower and they look amazing! Overall, I am so glad I went with this vendor! I plan to hire James again for my daughter’s 1st bday. Great service and delicious desserts! I totally recommend Mr & Mrs Creamery for all your events!

Fuego Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 1 Woodbury Blvd, Rochester

This is my go-to place for everything. They have excellent coffee that has yet to let me down, whether in flavor or in quality, and a very open, light, and friendly ambiance that is incredibly welcoming. I always go there to do work remotely, so I’m often there for hours at a time. There are gorgeous views outside their huge, open windows, which make any day look picturesque and warm. The artwork on display is constantly inspiring and thought-provoking, and they clearly have a wonderful system for selecting artists. My sole complaint is that their chairs are not super comfortable unless you can get access to the couches, which are generally taken. Due to this, I tend to spend less time here if I can’t get a spot on a couch simply because the wooden benches and metal chairs desperately need some padding. Otherwise, I would basically live in Fuego. The staff are always incredibly friendly and work toward getting to know their regulars and their drink orders and habits. There is always a personal touch to the ordering process, regardless of how busy they are. Whatever they’re doing in training is incredibly effective and they always seem to hire amazing people.

Pure Decadence Pastries – Menu with Prices – 4740 Liberty Rd S, Salem

I will start by saying the cake was phenomenal! That is coming from someone who absolutely hates cakes! However the service was awful! When we got there to talk about what we were wanting for my baby shower cake we showed her a picture of the exact cake we wanted and how we wanted a naked cake with no other frosting on it. Just a simple naked cake. She took notes of that and looked at the picture as well and said she could totally do that! Although the whole time we were there she acted as if we were bothering her or taking up her time. She wrote down on everything we talked about. When we came to pick up the cake she showed it to us and there was a BRIGHT GREEN FROSTING all over the top and bottom of the cake! When we wanted no frosting because we don’t like frosting. When we told her this is not what we asked for she told us that she had nothing to go by, when we HAD showed her a picture when we first got there to order it. So she lied about that and then tried to make it better by saying that she purchased $25 worth of little animals to put all over the cake when we NEVER asked for that what so ever! So all in all it was a horrible experience and very disappointing! I was in tears because I had envisioned and showed her what I wanted and she didn’t even care or even apologize! AWFUL customer service! I wouldn’t have been as upset if she would have compensated up with it either being free or half off AT LEAST! But NOTHING! And no ownership at all for what she had done! So if you are getting married or have a shower I would suggest you go elsewhere for your cake because I’m telling you, there is a high chance you will not be happy in the end.

L’s Sprinkles ‘n Things – Menu with Prices – 609 W 3rd St, Wilmington

I asked Lauren to make a birthday cake for my husband and and bring it over to his work as a surprise. She was so friendly and helpful and was able to make the cake and deliver it in just 2 days notice. The cake turned out gorgeous and my husband and his co-workers said it was delicious! I highly recommend her for not just her great service but also for her skill at making delicious and gorgeous desserts!
