I stumbled upon this place on Yelp and Alex N.’s review. First, finding this place is a nightmare – it’s not in the Garden Grove plaza that’s directly at the corner of Brookhurst/Westminster (where the Boiling Crab is) – but in the plaza behind it. So not the plaza with the BofA in it, but the one with the Beauty College/Saigon Market. I tried to call for directions and the gal said it was next to Boiling Crab – which is not accurate. I had to drive around that entire plaza, go through residential to end up in the right parking lot. Parking by the way – midday on Wednesday, is a nightmare. The multiple parking spots are shared by the beauty college, Saigon Market, and like 50 other small businesses and restaurants. If you don’t mind walking, park far, far away, and you might be able to find a spot. There is plenty of tables and chairs in the cafe – it’s really cute and cozy – there’s ample space between the tables and it’s a inviting environment. Unlike say, the Starbucks off Brookhurst and Westminster – there’s also plenty of outlets here as well. I ordered the Avocado Smoothie (see photo) – which was a good deal for $4.50 – there was just the right amount of avocado flavor, sweetness and creaminess. Update (7/19) – I ordered the House Coffee ($3.50) and it’s definitely tasty. It’s mixed before they give it to you – so unlike other cafe sua da where you sorta have to wait for the ice to melt the concentrate – by the time you get your cup here, the coffee is ready to drink. Update (7/23) – I’ve gone here nearly three times over the past week! Super fast wifi, yummy drinks and friendly staff! This is definitely a favorite! If only the scary parking lot can be resolved – but not the cafe’s fault. Update (7/29) – I wished they offered pastries/snacks/appetizers! It’d be nice to just spend an afternoon here and not have to interrupt my study/work session to grab food. I feel partly guilty sneaking a sandwich or pastry in from somewhere else since I’m waiting for the day a worker screams at me for doing so. I usually order a coffee, but if I’m getting hungry, I’ll pick up an Avocado smoothie which helps delay the hunger pangs until I’m done with whatever I’m working on. Overall a potential favorite – the private tables fill up quickly, but there is a large communal table in the center. The workers seem friendly, and there isn’t some obnoxiously loud music playing in the background.

Duck Donuts – Cross Hill Market – Menu with Prices – Cross Hill Market, 702 Cross Hill Rd 100 B, Columbia

Duck Donuts is definitely my go-to if I’m ever craving donuts. Located next to Taziki’s in the same plaza as Whole Foods and Midwood Smokehouse, there is plenty of lot parking available. The restaurant itself is small, but has a nice and fun atmosphere with its duck themed decor. The staff is nice and friendly and the service is quick. Not to mention, the donuts are absolutely divine! The price of the donuts are also fair. There are plenty of options on the menu, as well as the option to build your own donut! They also update the menu seasonally, though there are still plenty of favorites that remain year-round. A popular choice, and well deserved, is the maple bacon donut. I’m personally a fan of donuts covered in nuts. We haven’t tried much on the menu outside of the donuts, but don’t really see a need to. We did try the coffee once before and it was super sweet, which isn’t too surprising in hindsight, I guess, due to it being primarily a donut shop. Definitely recommended!

Sweetberry Virginia Beach – Menu with Prices – 3376 Princess Anne Rd Suite 205, Virginia Beach

I wanted to take the time to update my previous review to this location. Since then I have visited a few times and I must say that I am truly enjoying this addition to Hampton Roads. My last few experiences have been pleasurable. Parking right in front can be a bit challenging but there is plenty of parking writhing walking distance I am promptly greeted upon entry which always makes you feel warm and welcomed. The vibrant colors of bold green and bright pink delightfully adorn the walls of this hip and modern smoothie shop. Not only do they serve smoothie bowl but poke bowls as well. The pre crafted bowl combinations are well thought out but for those feeling a bit particular on what they want in their bowls, personal customization is available. Skies the limit on the many bowl combinations. Topping galore! And you know how we helpers love options! There is always ample seating available and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. You all know I’m a stickler for clean johns . I love the fresh fruit and the vibrant colors in my smoothie bowls. Not only are they pretty to the eye but taste very good. I like that the actual smoothie holds up well even in immense heat and doesn’t melt and become soupy to quickly. They have thee perfect consistency. I appreciate this more than you’ll ever know They also have a rewards program in effect that everyone should take advantage of. Sign up for promotions and discounts Overall I recommend this smoothie/ bowl shop!

The Kookaburra – Menu with Prices – 4265 A1A S, St. Augustine

Came in for a late night coffee and snack after dinner with some friends. The staff were super friendly and served us quite quickly. We ordered the Long black which is basically espresso pulled over water. I can’t tell you how delicious it was. I really enjoyed it. We also got a biscotti and and some gluten free pumpkin donuts. There are plenty of tables, nooks and comfy chairs to sit. There is free WiFi too. The place is clean and bright. There are quite a few coffee and specialty coffee choices. There is also a large assortment of breakfast and lunch Aussie pies. They are delicious. Nice puff pastry crust and fresh and delicious fillings. Great place for coffee and espresso. There is plenty of parking in their private parking lot. If you’re looking for a good cup of coffee and a bite to eat check this place out.

Le Petit Saigon – Menu with Prices – 2783 E Hastings St, Vancouver

Le Petit Saigon is my all time favourite Vietnamese restaurant. I’ve been eating pho since I was old enough to chew, and have had plenty of bowls of it in my lifetime. My favourite spot always changed, but ever since I’ve been to Le Petit Saigon in 2014, nothing else compares. My dad and I are regulars at the restaurant and we come for some lunch every weekend. I’ve tried a couple dishes from the menu but my favourite is just a regular bowl of pho. The broth has a strong umami flavour and because of the richness, you can tell it’s been simmering for the appropriate amount of time. Another dish on the menu I really enjoy is the seafood soup with egg noodles. It’s a very different flavour from the pho broth but again, the rich umami flavour is incredible. Overall, the broth at Le Petit Saigon rocks. Every meal I’ve tried, I’ve absolutely loved and practically licked the bowl. If you’re looking for a comforting meal (especially on a cold and rainy Vancouver day), definitely consider Le Petit Saigon.

West Palm Beach GreenMarket – Menu with Prices – 101 S Clematis St, West Palm Beach

I love the West Palm Beach Green Market! It really adds joy to my Saturday. I love hitting the pavement for a great run and then treating myself to some delicious bites at the Market. In addition to food and beverage, there are many vendors. beauty, gourmet, health and pet items are just a few of the items one can purchase. Produce is vast due to the fact many local farms feature their items. Many natural and organic items are available for sale. A few of my favorite vendors include: coffee, granola, honey, the place with the AMAZING guacamole (now carrying natural juices to include strawberry) and the Cheese Shoppe. I’ve been a dedicated patron to the Guacamole peeps, but stumbled on the cheese crew last weekend. #BESTcheddarEVER I really appreciate they’re not stingy with sampling their cheese. I like to try before I buy so it was nice to taste some of the featured items. I’m going back for the softened Brie…. hello lover! There are plenty of spots to score a hot breakfast and even an all you can drink mimosa special. If you’re into plants and flowers, there is a wide variety at affordable prices. This Green Market is dog friendly too and there are some real cuties who’re on repeat. New this year, the Market is both plastic and straw free. Recyclable bags are strongly encouraged and offered by many of the marketing booths. Samples are endless too so come hungry. Free parking is available at the Evernia & Olive garage. Finally, most of these vendors are Apple & Square friendly. Why not add the Green Market to your Saturday routine.

Oceanside Market Vendor – Menu with Prices – 701 Mission Ave, Oceanside

One of the locals actually told us about the Oceanside Farmers Market that happens every Thursday from 5-9 PM. When we looked it up, it was called Oceanside Sunset Market (they’re the same thing). So we headed down to Mission Avenue that evening. Parking was a nightmare! There was a lot of construction and the nearest parking lots were filled. After driving around, we were lucky to snag a spot when someone pulled out! You have to pay to park, it cost us about $5! But it was so worth it! Wow, the market was amazing! It’s filled with so many vendors, food trucks, and games! There are plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied and entertainment for adults too! Musicians were playing on the street, any food you could possibly imagine was being sold, as well as clothes, jewelry, and other hand made items! It took up around four blocks and it was just so fun to look at everything! We stopped at a couple of booths. I had a delicious shrimp taco at Evelie’s Seafood! The shrimp was so fresh and the special sauce really had a spicy flavor! Also, they only take CASH at that booth, so make sure you have some on you (a couple of booths were like that, but a majority was able to take card). Another favorite was Choc-Kabobs! Chocolate covered strawberries?! Yes please!! They dipped it fresh in the chocolate right in front of you and you had the option to pick dark, milk, or white! We ended up going with the milk chocolate that was absolutely delicious!! We also stopped at a macaron booth too from Big Joy Family! They were so kind and had plenty of special deals. We got the bubble gum flavored macarons that were in the shape of a rainbow! All of their treats were so cute! The market had plenty of gluten-free and vegan options as well! There seemed to be something for everyone! We had such an amazing experience here and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

Durham Farmers’ Market – Menu with Prices – 501 Foster St, Durham

What a fun and unique farmer’s market! I’ve only been to the state farmer’s market so this was a nice change! Parking was a bit tricky but now that I’ve been, parking isn’t hard at all! They have plenty of parking just a few blocks up. I parked near the downtown YMCA and it was 3 minute walk! Loved the local produces and products! They have quite a big selection. Compared to the state farmer’s market, Durham’s vendors were way more personable and friendly. It felt more like a local farmer’s market! I ended up getting a succulent from a local farmer. It hasn’t died for about a month so I’d say I’m doing pretty well haha Not only do they have many local businesses, they also have a little street with food trucks and local vendors! Oh, did I mention the live music? What about doggies? How else could you spend your Saturday morning? Make sure to bring a bag!

Pelican’s SnoBalls – Menu with Prices – 5846 Ramsey St, Fayetteville

Pelican’s Snoball’s on Ramsey street close to Methodist College. Perfect location with plenty of parking and a park like area with trees and picnic tables. Who doesn’t like shaved ice with flavors from coffee to dill pickle to papaya and nearly everything in between. it’s a neat little place to spend some time with the grandchildren. It’s close by and I like it good enough that I get a coconut or banana snow ball at least two times a week.

Tata Teahouse – Menu with Prices – 39230 Argonaut Way, Fremont

I will give this place a zero star if there’s a chance! Talk about customer service! I ordered avocado smoothie and the receptionist (chinese older lady) gave me honeydew smoothie. She blames me for saying it wrong when people behind me overhear me ordering AVOCADO! Then she goes to say I should try honeydew instead @$%!!! I reiterated that I want my avocado smoothie she rolled her eyes and cursed! WOW! She went on to say that I have to pay extra $1.50 because avocados are more expensive! Mind you that she (receptionist) was screaming at me (customer) throughout our conversation with people lined up to place their order. Great customer service indeed! One drink is missing from my order and again she blames me for only ordering 3 drinks, meanwhile when we checked the receipt, I had ordered 4 drinks!!! TATA teahouse just lost a customer today! I will never support this establishment as long as that chinese lady is there!! They should invest in sending her for customer service training before taking on that job!

New Moon Market – Menu with Prices – 2314 Edgewater Dr, Orlando

The best smoothie bowl I’ve had in Orlando, and I consider myself quite a connoisseur of them. Quaintly located amongst all of the cute shops and boutiques on Edgewater in College Park, the inside is calming and welcoming, bright and peaceful. When I walked in the man working greeted me and was super friendly. I ordered the Cheeky Monkey and turned it into a smoothie bowl. There’s already so much in it, and you get to add 3 more toppings for no additional cost. I added coconut, chocolate chips and fresh strawberries. Everything is made right within sight behind the counter and I was happy to see everything was fresh. I even asked for lots of peanut butter and he added extra on top at no cost. He gave me a lid assuming I’d have leftovers, but I ate the entire bowl, and it was huge! I’d recommend the bowl as a meal itself and the juices as a snack. I remember trying all of their juices years ago at the Sunday Farmer’s Market before they had a store, and I’m so happy to see they’re doing well! A little on the pricey side, but that’s what good, quality food costs. Worth it!

Market City Shopping Center – Menu with Prices – 2919 Kapiolani Blvd #2, Honolulu

This place is close to my house and I kept saying I was going to drop in and try it out. Well yesterday was that day! As for parking, it’s in the Market City Shopping Center and that parking lot is hit or miss. Today was a hit parking right in front, lol. The place has a few tables for dine in but it seems that they are more of a take out type of place. I was greeted by a gentlemen who was very pleasant and welcoming. I glanced over the menu and was going to get a spicy ahi bowl…the man suggested the spicy ahi avocado bowl. I decided to give it a try. Didn’t take long for my food to be ready and the price was 13 dollars. At first glance it did not appear that there was much ahi, seems to be heavy on the avocado. But as I started to eat I realized that was not the case. The thing with these bowls in my opinion is that places add too much sauces and you loose the flavor of the Ahi. That was true here but it was a much milder sauce and I could still taste the fish. The avocado was sliced very thin and it was very fresh. I also had a lemon topped salmon row which was very good also. It was in a cooler they have near the counter. It was 8 dollars but it was really good. The fish was fresh and the onions were cut nice and thin. Overall good experience and very good in my opinion.

Sue?s Market – Menu with Prices – 275 St James Pl, Philadelphia

This market/deli is in a very beautiful mini plaza next to the Society Hill Towers. The market isn’t right on one of the main cross roads so it is a bit more hidden to people unfamiliar with the area…but therefore it has a very neighborhoody/smalltown feel right within the city! The staff is very friendly here. Their produce, bagels, and cold cuts are always very fresh. The market and deli areas are very clean and upkept very well.
