I’m very disappointed with this coffee shop. I hadn’t been there in over a year. Decided to give it a try again on Sunday. I ordered the Grande Canyon and it was really good, made the way it was suppose to be made. I decided to go back again today.. ordered the same thing and an iced white chocolate mocha. I watched her make the drinks, but was not sure if they were for me. She handed them to me and I inform her that I asked for my drink to be made with chocolate milk. She then let me know, they don’t have chocolate milk. They create the chocolate milk with mocha and regular milk. Kind of funny how Sunday’s drink was made with actual chocolate milk. She also advises me that the turnover rate is high and the training is not the best. I’m very disappointed once again. The drinks were a huge disappointment. The wait at Dutch Bros is worth it. I do hope one day this establishment gets it together and provides the appropriate training so the whole team is on the same page. Hopefully one day the drinks will taste the same or very close to the same every time you visit.

Coffee Dose – Menu with Prices – 3035, 116 E 18th St, Costa Mesa

Came here on a whim with my best friend and my sister after seeing how hyped up it was on Instagram and we were frankly disappointed. The coffee shop was also a makeshift hair salon, where people could go in and get their hair done. We all ordered drinks. I ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk, my sister ordered an iced chai latte with whole milk, and my best friend ordered a cappuccino. After being there and hearing our names for the order, we grabbed our cups and took a sip. We couldn’t believe the disbelief of how disgusting our drinks were. Both chai teas tasted like Delsym, an orange cough syrup with cinnamon and the cappuccino tasted very sour. We weren’t too happy about the quality of the drinks after seeing how great the advertisements were on social media. After another sip, we decided we could no longer drink these drinks and went back to tell the baristas. Because it was our first time here and the taste was awful, I asked if we could swap them out with different drinks as the ones we ordered were not up to par. My friend and I both opted for a hot match a latte with almond milk and oat milk. My sister got a mocha. We were happy that they let us swap out the first drinks as they weren’t very good. The second round of drinks, tasted much better, but nothing too far from a 3/5. The aesthetic here is cute, I would rate it 4/5. However, their drinks are sub par, I dont think I will be coming back anytime soon as it was nothing special. Yes, the cups have some sassy sayings like “so fucking zen” or “anti-bitch serum,” but the drinks itself are not worth the price.

Unplugg-D Cafe – Menu with Prices – 12085 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove

This is entirely based on the drinks, not food or service wise as a heads up! BLACK MILK TEA: For the BMT, I feel like this is generally a very bland tasting milk tea. Other places make it better, but others also make it worse, so this falls right in the middle: average. The BMT is more on the milky side than the actual black tea itself which I believe should have an equal tasting milk to tea ratio. RATE: 5/10 TROPICAL NIGHT: This is suppose to taste like a strawberry lemonade kind of fruit tea, but really lacks that strawberry flavor I was looking for. The TN has more of a prominent grapefruit flavor, but has no grapefruit in it, which is very confusing as to where that taste comes from. RATE: 4/10 PEACHY GIRL: The PG drink is very very bland. I don’t really taste a distinct peach flavor in the drink like it probably should. It’s more on the watery side than the tea side, so it basically feels like I’m just drinking straight up water with a hint of peach juice. RATE: 3/10 TRA BUOI: The TB tea is the best of the 4 drinks I ordered. This tea actually tastes like guava and the tea base complements the guava. It has a little sour taste to it which isn’t necessarily bad. RATE: 7/10 OVERALL: 4.7/10 would recommend coming here.

Bon Beans Organic Coffee, Tea, & Juice – Menu with Prices – 875 E 9 Mile Rd #3, Pensacola

Bon Beans is for sure a coffee shop you can go to every day and not get bored. The baristas offer a great variety of coffee drinks and even more teas. Milk substitutes (almond, soy, or coconut milk) are also offered at an extra price. Make sure to go every Tuesday for BOGO! Out of the numerous coffee shops I’ve been to. Bon Beans stands out for it’s cute and welcoming interior. There are plenty of board games and books to read along with tables and couches to study. The best drink I’ve gotten so far is the cold brew with sugar free vanilla flavoring. I like my cold brews strong and not too bitter; this one was perfect. I would not recommend the dark chocolate flavoring; it did not taste like dark chocolate and instead more like candy and did not hide the bitterness of the coffee well. I’ve also gotten the mocha frappuccino which had a rich milk chocolate flavor; I had hoped the coffee taste would be more apparent. Most recently, I tried the pumpkin spice latte and was not pleased. The latte tasted nothing like pumpkin spice and was exceptionally bitter. Perhaps I have high expectations after having a Starbucks PSL, but I would not recommend this drink from Bon Beans.

The Java Shack Menu with Prices 2507 Franklin Rd, Arlington

I really wanted to like this place since it was so highly recommended, but it was honestly the worst coffee I’ve had in a long time – I couldn’t even finish my (very expensive) drink & had to dump it!! I tried their mocha with coconut milk. The rather unfriendly barista told me the mocha sauce was organic and made fresh every day, but it didn’t even taste like chocolate in all honesty. The espresso was also really sour/bitter and I don’t think it would have tasted good even if I had ordered something else.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – Menu with Prices – 3350 La Sierra Ave, Riverside

This isn’t the first coffee bean place I have been to but it’s prob the last. I have been to another location and I think their drinks are just Horrible! To say the least. When I got here, there is basically nobody there. Lights are off but it doesn’t show they’re closed on yelp and there is no sign saying they’re closed! So anyways, the self check out counters are right across from the coffee shop since this is inside Ralph’s! I asked one of the employees and he pages someone and they came, I asked the lady or she worked there. She said yea I use to!! So there is nobody that is working there for some reason and I guess part of it I understand Bc their coffee sucks! I wanted to get a latte with whites chocolate mocha!! I figured they’re like Starbucks, pumps of white chocolate mocha.well maybe not. By the time I went to get yogurt and came back for my drink. The lady was gone and she made me a drink that has dark chocolate!! My drink was just left there! I think it was clear that it should have been white chocolate mocha since we had a discussion about it. Never again!

Madcap Coffee Company – Menu with Prices – 1413 Farmer St, Detroit

VEGAN OPTIONS – Yes. Almond and oat milk. This big, bright and airy coffee spot is my new favourite in downtown Detroit. The space is huge with super high ceilings, the ability to order inside or walk up to the outdoor facing counter, and some patio seating in the little alley area to the side. Bonus – the staff is uber friendly. Now let’s get to the coffee. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was great. My husband ordered a mocha, and it was *delicious*! I’m not normally a fan of mocha drinks, but this one was a total hit and I would order it again in the future. The consistency and flavour of the drinks were on point. Definitely worth going out of your way for. Will return in the future whenever we’re back in town.

Tai Tea Anaheim Menu with Prices 9840 Katella Ave, Anaheim

I have been a fan of the Tai Tea franchise since I loved their milk tea and iced milk drinks at the other locations. When I saw they had a BOGO deal, I had to come check it out! However, I never knew someone can mess up on Jasmine Milk Tea so badly…. I am not sure if it was because of the promotion they had, hence they rushed or if it was because of the ingredients in general… Jasmine Milk Tea, half sweet, – it did not have any jasmine taste at all. It was also very bland and did not taste right at all. Not sure what made it taste like this, but i did not taste any jasmine green tea in the milk tea. Very disappointed in this drink since it is always my go-to drink for every store. Berry Lychee tea, half sweet – very little taste of strawberry and lychee. I think since I got half sweet, they lessened the syrup pumps they put in, resulting in a very bitter tea with little to no flavor Triple the trouble – this drink ended up being too sweet for me. The flavor was good though, but tasted just like syrup instead of something fresh and refreshing MangoNada- this was great. Good mango and chamoy flavor and consistency in the slush. WinterMelon milk tea – Did not taste any winter melon in this drink. It was very subtle and the milk tea itself did not taste right. Hong Kong Milk Tea Coffee – This drink was horrible honestly. I was expecting a very strong ceylon milk tea with a hint of coffee because I often drink this type of drink elsewhere and make it at home as well. But this was extremely bitter and did not taste any tea. They need to add more creamer or more tea because it tasted like straight-up black coffee with a splash of milk and sugar. I hope they improve their drinks. I had a very bad experience with my drinks. My family and I ended up throwing away all of our drinks half way because we were so unhappy with them. they did not taste right at all besides the Mangonada.

Legends Coffee Menu with Prices 24100 E Commons Ave, Aurora

I was really looking forward to trying this place because the reviews were so positive but I was pretty disappointed. I ordered an iced soy vanilla chai, which is my go-to drink literally everywhere. She told me they didn’t have soy milk so I opted for almond milk instead, which I have had with chai before and it’s not bad. I also ordered a cinnamon roll. It took a very long time to get the drink, there was a long line and only 1 person making drinks, which didn’t bother me as I wasn’t in a hurry but others seemed annoyed. I got my drink and cinnamon roll and left. The cinnamon roll tasted good, however the chai was horrible. I can’t even describe the taste of it, but it was not even close to what a chai should taste like. I tried drinking it and hoped I would get use to the off taste but I couldn’t so I didn’t finish the drink. I will probably return and try another drink, because people are so positive about the coffee here. But I would strongly advise against ordering the chai.

Mocha Moose Coffee Menu with Prices 2596 N Bogus Basin Rd, Boise

Wow, oh, wow! I tried this place out for this first time this past weekend, and I am happy I did! I was out running errands for work and was about to pass Mocha Moose by (for the 100th time) but decided I should stop and see what this little red hut on the side of Bogus Basin Rd is all about. I pulled up to the window, was greeted by a very friendly gentleman (who I found out was the owner), and then was instantly presented with the question, “What are we having?” To which I replied, “Well I like somewhat sweet, but not really. And I like mocha’s, but not too much chocolate. And I think a hot drink sounds good, but I could still do an iced drink. But I’m open to whatever really.” (That wasn’t helpful at all, Amie.) Unfazed by my indecisiveness, he suggested, “We have a dark chocolate mocha and it’s really good!” “Yes. That sounds amazing. Maybe do half the chocolate.” “Perfect! Would you like whipped cream? It’s homemade!” “No, I shouldn’t…Wait, yes. It’s Saturday–of course I want whip cream!” About 30 seconds later, this beautiful 12oz cup was handed to me with a bit of coffee heaven inside and a gorgeous swirl of whipped cream sitting on top. The dark chocolate was a perfect choice–slightly sweet, ever so slightly bitter, and exactly what my Saturday morning taste buds were looking for. The milk was steamed to perfection–hot but not scorching. The espresso was also delightful–creamy and rich. Unless you’ve worked in coffee before, you might not notice the difference between a good and bad shot of espresso. But if you have, it is very obvious when one is good and one is bad–and this was one GOOD shot of espresso! 5/5 for me. I will be back!

Heart and Soul Coffee – Menu with Prices – 930 11th St, Modesto

Little brother wanted some coffee after having lunch. He recommended this place that is downtown. The ambiance was cool. Love the open space. I ordered a hot mocha and my brother ordered a different drink. Think it had the name of lumberjack latte but I could be wrong. The drinks were made fast but one issue. The girl made me an iced mocha and not a hot mocha. Oh well let’s run with it right. I’m actually glad I did. This iced mocha was good. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. If I had to do it all over, I would Order a non fat iced mocha. In the end, the screw up turned out to be a blessing. Thanks for the great iced mocha.

Regent Coffee Roasters and Brew Bar – Menu with Prices – 249 N Brand Blvd, Glendale

This review is based strictly on my order of their iced mocha latte. First, you can tell a lot about a coffee shop from the mocha they use. I was pleasantly surprised that they make their own mocha, that is ALWAYS a plus..better than disgusting fudge chocolate that other places use. Second, I was greeted by a barista who was sitting on the counter. Like, that’s a tad bit weird for me. So my iced mocha actually tastes decent, which means their espresso beans are of high quality. Problem is that I feel like I am drinking a latte with chunks of chocolate. They clearly did not melt the chocolate, nor did they try to dilute it in any shape or form into the beverage. It’s so bad that my straw is clogged with chocolate pieces. Kinda gross. If they could just figure out how to perfectly add the ingredients together this place would be on the top of my list (maybe top 10, nowhere near top 5). The oat milk that they use is not my favorite either. Oatly is by far the best oatmilk in the market so I get annoyed when coffee shops don’t carry it. Also, way pricier than other places—and I am usually okay with paying top dollar for good coffee- this just wasn’t it. *UPDATING my review based on speaking with the owner*- Pretty happy that the owner reached out to explain the issues I discussed. I love small business and I support them 100%. This isn’t my local coffee shop so it would be unfair of me to write them off from one “unfortunate” experience. I do hope to go back and try the mocha again.

Ceremony Coffee – Cross Street Market Menu with Prices 1065 S Charles St Stall 160, Baltimore

I am a huge fan of Ceremony Coffee and I was so excited to find out that there would be a location so close to my house. But I have been so disappointed each time I have been to the Cross Street location. For the first several weeks, they were constantly out of so many things. They couldn’t offer certain drinks on their menu. Then they didn’t have any cold brew on tap. They also didn’t have any in cans like they normally do. Now there is an upcharge for avocado, even though other Ceremony locations are not charging more. The most disappointing part is the coffee, though. The baristas that have been working each time I have been have really not made my drinks well at all. What is normally one of my favorite cortados in the city is now just espresso with some warm milk. What happened to the silky, perfectly foamed milk that I get at other Ceremonies? Hoping this was just a one time occurrence, I have gone back two other times and each time, my drink has been really bad. The staff here needs more thorough training. It pains me to say it, but I will no longer be going to this Ceremony for my drinks. I will probably still walk down there to get their great bags of beans and cans of cold brew (when it is actually in stock), but if I want anything else, I will be heading to 3 Bean just down the street. I look forward to trying Ceremony again in a few months and hopefully these concerns will be a thing of the past. Please prove me wrong, Ceremony!
