What a quaint gem! Seating indoor and outdoor. Friendly staff (thx Capri) and great food. The homemade cheese and broccoli soup is a definite. Include a side of their bruschetta- I tried the Italian. Yummy. Also tried a bite of the Greek flatbread – great flavors. The Holiday drinks were a hit. When in historic Glendale do yourself a favor and stop in for a try.

Ohio City Pasta – West Side Market (Stand F1 & F2) – Menu with Prices – 1979 W 25th St, Cleveland

AMAZING pasta says the woman married into an Italian family who knows a thing or two about what “real” pasta is, makes it homemade herself & grew up in a nearby city where our Little Italy/Italian community makes its pasta & authentic Italian foods nothing to mess with. Not only is this pasta as fresh & handmade as one could wish for, but it’s delicious & FULL of flavor! Oftentimes places with “flavored” pastas have flavors that barely come through, but this company serves pasta that has its flavors come through in every bite you take. On our recent trip to the West Side Market, we purchased gnocci, plain homemade angel hair, sundried tomato homemades & the flavor packed cheese & potato stuffed “pierogies”. All of which were to die for & full of love & flavor in every bite!!! Shhh…dont tell anyone, but this company puts all my local pasta makers to shame. It’s that good!! My only mistake is not buying any of their many flavors to choose from Raviolis & yummy looking sauces. Every time I’m in town, Ohio City Pasta will be a must stop!

Aphrodite’s Sweets – Menu with Prices – 2007 Francis Lewis Blvd, Flushing

Great bakery; for Italian and Greek pastries. The Usual Queens pastry staples. And frappes! Famous for: Apple Cheese Pie turnover thingie. The Sweet Cream empanadas or turnovers or Kalitsounia. This is their signature nobody else makes these. The filling is amazing like the best cheese danish; and the outside crispy with crystallized sugar. My Columbian friend said “THIS is not an Empanada.” She still loves them, EVERYBODY LOVES them even the angrily culturally expropriated! Bring a box and you’re an instant hit at the holiday event gathering or just thank you coworkers. They’re open really early for breakfast for tiropita and frappe so you can buy a box at 630am and it’s way better to reward your coworkers then the nasty dozen Dunkin’ Donuts a block down. Everything here is decadent and delicious. Don’t forget they’re Greek so they have ALL your Greek holidays handled. Open Easter Morning! Both Easter’s, the Greek one AND the Heathen one for all you Xeni! With Greek pasty cookie prewrapped platters so Greeks who feel obligated to bring stuff to your holiday you don’t have to trek to astoria or down to northern to Bucky the Beaver’s c

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard – Menu with Prices – 10726 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax

I don’t have a Rita’s near me, so whenever I’m in the area for my doctor’s appointment, I usually stop here. When I was pregnant in the middle of the Summer last year, you can bet I was here just about every day. I always get a gelati; it’s the best taste and texture to have a bite of super flavorful italian ice and creamy custard. Their ice flavors can be really interesting too. Mango or cherry are usually my go to staples, but they have flavors like coffee, smore, peanut butter, etc that taste so dead on. It’s a very kid friendly place too; if I go early afternoon I’ll find that I’m not the only parent that’s brought their kid. Also, if you check in with your Yelp App, you can get 10% off!

The Bake Bar Ristorante – Menu with Prices – 3354 N Ocean Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

Luca, owner and incredible chef, has created the “true Sicilian ” story! Excellence, passion, knowledge, sincerity are the hallmarks of each homemade fantastic idea for each dish. He knows what he wants to give you and overwhelmingly succeeds! Angelo is also there for your every need in a most Italian way! Chicken Marsala is filled with all the authentic flavors my palate could dream of over your choice of homemade pasta. Bruschetta amazing flavors. Cold roasted veggie dish to die for!! Pasta bianco was sooo exciting to taste and my brain was savoring every bite, all this st lunch!!! Dessert of vanilla and chocolate gelato covered in fudge hard shell (cherry in middle) strawberry and whipped cream…was wonderful. Everything is just a lot different from a walk in Italian restaurant with this welcoming “bar” from Sicily concept to return for a cappuccino at the bar, conversation or book reading over a dessert, or full on every evening dinner experience, and it is an experience in this small cozy gem! Of the old time kind! Enjoy

Dining In Inc – Menu with Prices – 1645 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd, Charleston

It is important to have kosher options whether you live in Charleston or are just visiting. Marcie works hard to provide great kosher food whether for a pop up cafe, hosting a party, or to make your holiday easier. Holiday menus come out before each holiday so that you can order all or even just part of your holiday meal. Holiday and challah orders must be in by Tuesdays at 5pm. Pick-up is on Thursdays from 1pm – 6pm & Friday from 8am – 4pm. Traditional Jewish food made locally. Visiting from out of town? Kosher meals can be delivered to your hotel. My favorite is the cinnamon challah special. Regular challah available weekly. Challah comes in small, large, or dinner rolls. Order ahead, or stop by and hope there is a challah left!

Brand Grill – Menu with Prices – 1200 S Brand Blvd # 7, Glendale

Just when I was starting to feel like I’ve eaten at all the good food stop in Glendale… I come across this gem! I was driving down Brand on my lunch break trying to think of a new place to grab lunch at the sign for Brand Grill catches my eye. I quickly check my yelp app and I saw 3…yes 3 5-star reviews. I can’t say no to a Mediterranean place so I pull into the lot. I come in and boy this place is small… I’m talking real hole in the wall. There are 3 2-seater tables and, what looks like, a covered deli counter. Above that is a row of entrees and sandwiches… just about all of them under $10. http://s3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/jsxDNt5QhqJA65mhJSvtRQ/l.jpg I make my order an the guy behind the counter says that there is about a 20 minute wait as everything is made from scratch… me likey. THE ORDER #5: 1 Beef Shish Kabob and one Luleh Kabob Plate – 5 out of 5 – Wow…just..wow! First off the plate was HUGE! This was enough food for two people. I take a bite of the beef shish kabob and seriously almost fall out of my chair. It was moist, tender and perfectly seasoned. The luleh was equally good. It was super tasty and juicy. Also on the plate was a huge serving of rice, some white onions and red onions and a roasted tomato and pepper. Add to this that the platting was done well too. http://s3-media1.ak.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/v0nRYZ-mCKWOkpvh2G3Lmg/l.jpg OVERALL These are some of the best kabobs I’ve EVER had. It’s up there with Mini Kabob also here in glendale…maybe even a little higher as the service here is very pleasant. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot.

Glendale Tap – Menu with Prices – 4227 San Fernando Rd, Glendale

The Glendale Tap is a bar. A good ol’-fashioned bar. Enough said. Okay, maybe not quite: It’s beer-only, so if you want to order a Mexican Hayride, Calamity Jane, Lust in the Dust, or some other mixology monstrosity made by a foppish dude who waxes hid mustache and wears far too much tweed, take your ass Downtown. Yeah, it’s all fancy-pants craft beers â?? no Bud Lights here. But at the Glendale Tap, the craft beers don’t come with a side of self-important Generation Y trash yammering about how Alexandria Okeechobee-Cortisone totally OWNED Fox News and Trump and Amazon and Cobra Commander when she, like, totally said the government could just, like, you know, tell everyone to stop using electricity. Wow. She’s so smart. UGH. There isn’t enough beer on the planet to make sitting next to that kind of asinine conversation tolerable. Thankfully, Glendale Tap attracts normal people â?? you know, the kind of people who work for a living, on real jobs, not make-believe, money-for-nothing “tastemaker” horsecrap â?? and who have real conversations. About life. Work. Beer. Things that are funny. It’s a place where people you can tolerate hang out. And has a jukebox where I can play Prodigy’s “Smack My [You-Know-What] Up,” and not only does the female bartender not get offended, but she praises my selection. Yeah. This place is awesome. Millennial garbage, please stay far, far away from the Glendale Tap. I like it here.

Di Lisio’s Italian Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 301 Brookstown Ave, Winston-Salem

I don’t live in Winston anymore, but just had to return to this spot even if I could only order it as take out (not because they didn’t have seating, but I didn’t have time to dine in). I thought I’d update my review to reflect my takeout experience. I ordered the gnocchi sorrento, which is gnocchi in meat sauce topped with mozzarella cheese. It came with a side salad (I got house with vinaigrette) and bread. I was a little bummed I didn’t get any of the delicious olive oil dip for the bread. I also ordered bruschetta, which they neatly packaged all the bruschetta topping in separate containers so that I didn’t go home to soggy bruschetta bread. The gnocchi was so delicious, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their salad and house dressing is always amazing. I can’t get over all the great ingredients in the salad, such as olives and radish. Bruschetta was heavenly and perfectly seasoned as well… it came with a lot of delicious Parmesan to top it with! I just love this charming restaurant so much. Apparently they will be closing soon for renovations, and I’m confident things will only go up from there for Di Lisio’s. Try to get your fix in before they close!

Olive Branch Mediterranean Foods – Menu with Prices – 3992 Ringgold Rd #103, Chattanooga

When I was a young girl, eating out was a treat reserved for special occasions. Chain restaurants were not a novelty or a dime a dozen, so we ceremoniously piled into the station wagon and drove to a family run restaurant where they knew everyone’s name, asked about your relatives and you felt you were eating as a guest in their home. The food was not complicated, but it was always delicious, hearty, made with love and pride. The moment I entered the Olive Branch, I felt the warmth and love of a childhood memory. Truly a family run business, they take time to greet you and get to know you (if you allow). Try the Incredible Greek salad – always fresh, generous and delicious with amazing dressing. If you’re a meat lover, top it with gyro meat and prepare to relish every bite. The Greek lemon chicken with potatoes — oompah! The hummus and tabouli are the stuff of … legendary satiation. And for the ultimate experience, squeeze a Greek pastry into your happy mouth as a last indulgence. Do yourself a culinary favor and visit this very special place.

Verre Wine Bar Menu with Prices 2415 Wilson Blvd, Arlington

Decided to try Verre today for lunch and I’m so happy I did! It was my first time there and I really enjoyed it – and I didn’t even sample the wines, so I’m looking forward to going back. The interior is really nice with a ton of natural light, and their menu is great. They have what I think is an amazing lunch special – a full sandwich, a full side, and a coffee or tea for $9.95. Can you get that anywhere else in Clarendon? I don’t think so. I got the chicken and brie sandwich, and our server was very accommodating when I asked for it to be served without bread. I got the Greek salad as my side, and Swings coffee. The sandwich was delicious and was plated very nicely (forgot to take a picture) and the dijonnaise and fig jam on the side were a really nice complement. The Greek salad was nice – great greens, tasty tomatoes, peppers, onions, and great herbed feta with a tasty Greek dressing. My friend got a really hearty-looking sandwich and the Greek salad side. We both felt like this was a great value for a nice lunch! They had lots of other good options, too, so I highly recommend!

Cocojoes Italian Ice – Menu with Prices – 5120 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton

We’ve been bringing the kids to Cocojoes for years on annual visits to Florida – their Italian ice and frozen custard is top notch. Don’t pass on the killer combo gelati – layers of Italian ice and frozen custard that take each to another dimension. The selection of Italian ice flavors is excellent, usually there are 10-12 flavors. Vicki, the owner, is also super friendly and easy to talk with. She made my two young girls feel like princesses on a recent visit by painting beautiful unicorns on their arms with face paint. This is the type of local business that deserves your support!

Gio’s Italian Ice – Menu with Prices – 1950 Viera Blvd #101, Melbourne

Absolutely PHENOMENAL Italian ices! I’m from New York and had the please to walk into this new but very well put together establishment. It’s bright but not too much going on that distracts you from the amazing flavor and quality their Italian ices, gelato, and soft serve have to offer! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Larry and he took the time out, as he was carrying in more fresh products to make new flavors, to stop and speak with me because I had a feeling something this good was from a man that came from somewhere else. Owner was down to earth and a man you could have a conversation with any day. I will ABSOLUTELY be frequently visiting my new favorite ice cream and Italian ice spot! This place is a MUST TRY!
