We were very excited to try out this place, we walked in and there was a guy with glasses who seemed super bored bc it was so slow, we weren’t greeted much, and he just said “have a seat” didn’t bother to ask if we wanted all you can eat or not just plopped is down and gave us menus and a long list of sushi. We thought the decor was cute and despite the weird greeting we got we were here to have a good time. We checked off a bunch of sushi on the list sent our first order in. (No where on the list does it distinguish the difference between All you can eat vs. regular priced sushi.) and we got our sushi and it was good. The sushi chef really knows good technique and temperature for what he serves. Once we were done with our first round of sushi bc we came for the “All you can eat” we asked for the list of sushi again and a lady who worked there said “oh…we have a problem.” So my bf and I were like “uhhh what’s the problem?” They were charging us for the regular priced sushi and not the All you can eat flat rate price. They didn’t think we were getting all you can eat because we chose 1 item that was exclusively regular price (WHICH THEY NEVER DISTINGUISHED ) The waiter never asked us if we wanted all you can eat but then again the waiter was so terrible he was so sluggish and BLEH. We were the only people there and he still couldn’t do a good job. Smh… ? You can tell it’s a small family business so they need as much business as they can get… It was our first time there and sadly we will not be coming back. Because, yikesss. The lady there was so terrible at explaining her self she was talking so much and so fast with her hard accent, she herself seemed confused. I was getting very flustered. At that point going back and forth and bickering with this woman when I’m just trying a have a nice lunch. i was just infuriated. We paid full price for an abundance of sushi because we chose one item from the regular priced menu. We left, left no tip. Never coming back. Would not recommend.

Tibet Bowl & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 50 Main St, Salt Lake City

Sad to say this place is pretty terrible, i love nepalese food especially momo, unfortunately every component of the momo was bad, the dumpling shell was too thick and bread-y tasting, the meat filling had an offputting old tinge taste to it, and the sauce although it smelled excellent didnt have much flavor to it at all and was kinda creamy like tikka masala sauce or something, i didnt try the sushi but that should have been the red flag from the get go, sushi and nepalese food do not go together just like sushi and chinese food dont go together how do people not understand this!!!

Irish Nobleman Pub – Menu with Prices – 1367 W Erie St, Chicago

The worst experience my husband and I have ever had at a restaurant/bar. The place was practically empty and we ordered a pretzel with cheese as an appetizer and then a burger and fries and chicken tenders. I asked if I could get a side salad also and the waiter said yes. 30 minutes go by and we have no food. My husband asked if our pretzel was coming and the waiter said yes but it’s all on the same ticket. Another 10 minutes go by and we finally get our food- everything at once but no side salad. The waiter said sorry we can’t do a side salad would you like a full salad? I am 9 months pregnant and was starving at this point. I told him it was completely unacceptable that I’m being asked this question now and not when I placed my order so no I don’t want a full salad. And also it’s unacceptable that it took 40 minutes for us to get a pretzel. We wouldn’t have ordered it had we known it was coming out with our other food. He walked away and said nothing. 10 minutes later the manager Kelly came out and asked how things were. I thought he was coming to apologize like managers usually do when you have bad service. I said things could be better and explained again that it’s unacceptable for us to find out 40 min after placing an order that I can’t get an item. (Side salads by the way are available if you want them for their burgers) He said he understood but it’s also unacceptable for me to curse at his waiter. My husband came to my defense to say I did no such thing. Because I never once swore at this waiter! Kelly said I believe my waiter and I’d like you to leave. We hadn’t finished our meal and I asked if he was kicking out a 9 month pregnant lady. He responded yes that we were not welcome and we should understand when a kitchen is backed up. I’ve never in my life experienced service like this and my husband and I are still so taken back by the experience. The manager was so confrontational and lacked any understanding for how we as customers were upset. He also told us that we should post this to social media and that he didn’t care. Please do not support a business that treats people like this.

Gangnam BBQ – Menu with Prices – 1350 S Longmore, Mesa

An unreasonable business model set to fail. First of all, Korean BBQ is probably among my most favorite type of food to eat out; I’m lucky enough to travel the world, eating Korean bbq from South Korea to all over the US, so I’m quite familiar with the typical All You Can Eat type of Korean bbq joint. Let’s start with the few positive I can say about this place, the side dishes were all well and freshly made. The meats (very few we could actually order) were okay, though Pork Neck was more like Pork Belly, super fatty, did not taste all that great. Okay, now let me explain why the 1-star poor review. This is an All You Can Eat Korean BBQ place, but their rule is set for you not to have much of a choice from the get-go. There were two of us came here for dinner, we chose the Premium version of the menu which includes about 10 extra items compare to their regular menu. The kicker is they only allow you to choose TWO meat items between TWO of us! I have ate at least 50 or more this type of restaurants around the country, I would say more than half of the places are set as the buffet style, where you can pick your own meat. And the rest would at least allow each person to order 3 or more different type of meats. But this place literally allowed us to pick one per person. After the waiter explained the rule, right away I asked, can we order small portions? So at least we can try a few more items off the menu. But he said no! If this is not it, we ordered the Brisket and Beef Belly, which are two of the most popular choices anywhere you go, both were from the regular menu. The waiter then brought two big plates of this meat. We already felt this was very unreasonable because, with this kind of portion, we really wouldn’t have enough room to try something else. But at this point, we haven’t even ordered any item from the premium menu. So again, I asked the waiter if there is any way to bring other items in a smaller portion because we felt the first order was way too much for one item. He replied, “oh other items are smaller, only the first 3 items on the menu are big plates”. So we decided to order the cow tongue and pork neck since both were from the premium menu. But again, the second round of order also with huge portions. Okay normally I wouldn’t complain about the portion, but guess what. When we tried our best to finish all of them, we just can’t and decided to ask for the check, the waiter wanted to charge us $10 for the leftovers! This is just unbelievable, given that we had ZERO choices on the portion of the order, and we even asked them to give us a smaller order! And the worst part is when I explained how this is a very unreasonable request, the waiter started giving us attitudes and arguing it is our fault for ordering! So according to this guy’s logic, we should just stop after the first order of two regular items even though we chose to pay for the premium option! As I read some other reviews, I have to agree, whoever owns this place is extremely cheap. They even want to charge for lettuce, which is eaten with Korean BBQ as a tradition. I can understand we are being charged for leftovers if we are the one grabbed those from the buffet line, but when not even given an option on the order, and they literally trap you by limiting you only order TWO items when you sit down, this is just ridiculous! I would never recommend this restaurant to ANYONE, because their business model is unreasonable, and their attitude is just plain horrible. Stay away from this place, there are much better options out there.

Fresh Smoothies & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2450 Creston Ave, The Bronx

I would like to think it was because I came in 15 min to closing but that shouldnt change the attitude that you have towards the customer. I walked in and the ladies were talking they looked at me and continued talking. Very disrespectful didnt get greeted or anything, so I said excuse me and asked for what I wanted. Then I told her ill buy an orange juice aswell only for the simple fact that I wanted to see the machine working she stated that the machine is off and the juice was premade that defeated the purpose of wanting the juice so I didnt get it, but They have a lil process that’s done to meet customers satisfaction they serve you an ounce or 2 of w.e. smoothie you ordered to taste for perfection incase you want to add anything or change anything but as I get my sample the lady started to pour it in the cup, didnt wait for my opinion. It wasnt as cold as I would have wanted it to be but didnt wanna start anything I just said it was fine. The one moping gets mad because my boots were dirty she told me to stand by the door and the other lady tells me to come over to the cashier to pay and the one mopping gets mad. I just think for a first time experience on a Friday night it should have been a little better.. I’ll come again another time maybe I’ll change my rating but as of now very disappointed

Koi Grill & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 126 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh

As soon as I walked in, I really wanted to like this place; the atmosphere within this place really felt like a Japanese restaurant and I really liked the bamboo layouts. However, there were several things that really disappointed me. Firstly, the service. When ordering food, I expect the server to note down the menu the customer orders because it shows their careness and what if it’s a long list? Our server came and I gave a few sec so she can get her order list out. Instead she just stands there asking “need a few more minutes?” We ordered about 9 kinds of sushi. She said okay and about a minute later she comes back asking what they were again. I repeated back. About 10 minutes later she comes asking if we wanted a miso soup so we can have something while we wait. This was nice but could have been nicer if it was asked earlier because it came after the sushi. Note the fact that there were only us and just another 2 tables – it was that slow. Even when I asked my server if I could get my bill, she just cut me in and says she knows it. I found this extremely rude. Now the food. After the kitchen got the order list, which included 2 uni nigiri sushi, one of the sushi chefs comes to our table saying they can only make 1 uni nigiri not two. Apparently they were out of uni on a Tuesday night. As a person who worked in the kitchen, I found this unacceptable. Uni wasn’t even fresh in the first place. The sashimi pieces on the sushi were very lukewarm. Another disappointment was that some of the sushi had a sauce/garnish on and i found this very disturbing to taste the true flavors of sushi – such as shiso and wasabi on uni or a random sauce on amaebi. But this is based on a personal preference. The quality of the fish was decent. It’s sad to have them lukewarm. I don’t know if I will be coming back but the service was a really big turn off.

Kanters Deli Menu with Prices 196 Lark St, Albany

Overall the food here is pretty good. Dave, their cook does a great job (though I overheard he’s looking for a different job.) The problem for me is price inconsistency. First time I went there (I work in the building next door) I ordered a breakfast sandwich – sausage, bacon and cheese (no egg) on a hard roll. The price for the default sandwich (bacon or sausage or ham and egg and cheese) is $3.75. At the first order, the guy behind the counter wasn’t sure how to charge it as what I wanted was different than normal. The lady who owns the business said “make it the same as a regular breakfast sandwich.” I went back several times more and the price was the same. Then another lady charged me $4.50 and the owner said the same thing as she previously said. Today I go and get the same thing and the price is now $5.00. I said “it keeps changing.” She then asked if it was fair from a business standpoint that I get double meat and ask for a discount… I didn’t ask for one. I asked for consistency regarding pricing that she herself had set. Is it fair to keep changing your pricing, and then put the onus on the customer for questioning the change? I liked Kanter’s but I think they can do with one less customer at this point.

Rock’n Sushi – Menu with Prices – 11940 Fairway Lakes Dr, Fort Myers

I recently discovered Rock N Sushi. it is a hidden treasure in Gateway! I live about 30 minutes away & have been coming to them for about a month now. They have a happy hour menu from 4-6pm Monday-Friday (I posted a picture of the menu). I like this place so much that I have started a list of sushi rolls that I have tried, and every time I go back I try a new roll until I have tried their entire menu. I’m doing that mainly because I have been to Blu Sushi so many times before that this place is just so unique with all sorts of different sushi roll options that I have never tried before. I highly recommend them and have referred tons of friends! They have a huge sushi menu (see photos) & a big menu for other food (I just go for sushi). I normally sit at the sushi bar and chat with the sushi chefs. Honestly, I have not had a bad experience so far & I am looking forward for many more visits (gotta complete my list!)

Ninza Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 8428 W 13th St N #100, Wichita

I can’t even explain my experience here. First of all, it took more than the average wait for a normal restaurant. Second of all, there was only one waiter against 7-8 tables. And also, my brother was sitting over at the bar and he gets up to go to the bathroom and the waiter just takes his stuff. He also refilled my brothers water and also knew he was on my ticket. We also had to wait around a hour and thirty minutes for 3 platters of sushi. The sushi was also bland and over-priced.I don’t recommend it as well. The waiter also did a couple things that ticked me off. He got our order wrong, we had to wait 40 minutes for our waters to be filled up again and he forgot the plates and one of the rolls we had ordered. He also said something along the lines of ” We didn’t expect you guys here”. Now that was rude. I don’t usually do reviews but gosh this place just isn’t for me.

Japan Samurai – Menu with Prices – 4300 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake

What a big disappointment! I chose this place because of the mostly positive reviews on the sushi. I live an hour away in the country and I am accustomed to driving A bit of a distance to eat sushi. Stopping in here for lunch and I was the only person dining for the entire length of my visit.. Looks like I should have tried the Chinese buffet next-door. I ordered edamame for an appetizer. My portion was small for the price I paid. Most sushi restaurants I would have gotten double that order for the same price. I ordered two special roles, and order of salmon Nigiri and shiro Magaro. The sushi chef must have gotten my rolls confused with something I did not order because one of my rules was so spicy that I could not eat it and it was nothing like what I ordered; even after I scraped off the spicy topping I could not eat the rest of the sushi underneath. Nowhere on the roll description did it say it would be spicy. My shiro maguro looked old and beat up. The sushi is priced at 4.50 Per two pieces, and the special roles were two for $20. My total bill without tip came to $46.31 for one person at lunch. Way overpriced considering the food is garbage.

Takeshi Sushi Menu with Prices 2424 Wilson Blvd, Arlington

Terrible, just terrible. I really wanted this place to work… So After weeks of wanting to check out the place I finally got a chance to stop by The sushi menu was very basic with just your standard rolls, so first of all don’t expect anything fancy or any unique/signature house rolls or anything like that. The second disappointment, I don’t think their AC was working, the place was hot and kinda empty. They had more staff there than customers. The third major disappointment: I wanted to start my meal with some good Cold premium sake on a hot day but they have no alcohol. In terms of the food, I looked for the most premium thing on the menu & decided on the Dinner nigiri combo set for Sushi ($15) which is typically a combo of the cheff’s recommended sushi plus it also comes with a roll. The waitress then asked me what roll I wanted with that, I asked what the roll options are? The waitress pointed me to a list of rolls, so I chose the Rainbow roll, she smiled and said “sure!” I added a few other extra things off the menu too such as the Salmon sashimi (gotta love some fresh salmon sashimi!) The waitress came back after a few minutes and said “sorry, my manager said the special Nigri Sushi combo comes with the California roll, so you can’t choose the rainbow roll”. My automatic response was “oh no problem, i will just pay extra for the roll upgrade, I don’t want California roll, please bring me the Rainbow roll”. She smiled and said “ok sure!” You know, a few dollars up or down is hardly a factor after a long day of hard work when you finally have a few minutes to relax and have a good sushi dinner. You just kinda want what you want and I hate California rolls! I assumed this waitress was just new or something or else she would have told me about the extra charge for roll upgrade in the first place without that unnecessary back and forth so I let that go and was just excited for the food! But then… she came back once again after a few minutes and said “sorry, my manager said you can’t just pay the difference between California ($5) and Rainbow ($12) roll to upgrade, you actually need to pay $9 more to do the upgrade. So are you ok with an extra $2? I’ve never really cared about that sort of calculation in my life, would have probably never even noticed it if she hadn’t said anything, but at that point I was shocked & at the same time pissed off enough to actually take a look at the price of Cali roll Vs. Rainbow on the menu to make sure I understood what she was saying correctly & ask the obvious… “so why cant I just pay the difference between these 2 and get what I want?”, “sorry my manager said you cant”. At that point, having already wasted way too much time on this, I simply got up and left… & that was that! I went straight to Asahi Sushi down the street after that, it was packed (while I was 1 of only 3 tables at Takeshi), the waitresses knew their stuff (they don’t have to go ask their manager 10 times back and forth just to get a simple order in), they have the Sake i wanted to start with, the AC was working just fine, and the portions and prices were generous. $24 got me their high-end deluxe sushi combo (they also have a cheaper more basic one) plus a roll of my choice (choose from a list of 14 rolls). The other place even with $24 I could not get the same thing I got here, and they were greedy enough to push a customer out of an empty place over just $2, & it was all their own fault to begin with (confusing menu, untrained staff, etc). My note to Takeshi’s owners: you have a great location, great opportunity to do this right, you have access to a high-income younger generation in this urban area, but please understand that we have lots of other options & be prepared to compete in quality, service, generosity and price! Good luck!

First Watch – Durham – Menu with Prices – 5307 New Hope Commons Blvd Ext, Durham

Probably the rudest waiter i’ve ever had, middle-of-the-road food couldnt save the poor service. Decided to go somewhere new on saturday morning. Coming into the restaurant we were received with a mild greeting and seated. Our waiter arrived and asked what we’d like to drink. No welcome, no greeting, if there were specials we didnt hear about them, he did not even give his name. Because i dont have his name I can only say that he was working 7/6/19 at some point between 12 and 2 pm, was tall, overweight, slicked back short black curly hair, and he had a face like he didnt want to be there. he was waiting tables in the booth area near the windows away from the front door. We ordered our drinks, hot cocoa for them and I order sweet tea. He came back a few minutes later and wordlessly dropped them on the table, the water glasses were on the table, they remained unfilled. I was with my wife, mother-in-law and her aunt, english is not their first language and they are very picky eaters. They spent about 5 minutes reading the menu before he came by and asked what we were ordering.. I look over and my mother in law is literally in the process of squinting at the menu when he asks us this.. My wife is still reading a menu and her aunt still has one in her face as well.. no one had a menu on the table, no one was staring around idly, no one flagged him down, in no way shape or form was there a cue for him to ask us our order.. dude didnt even ask if we needed more time or had questions.. because theyre foreign theyre often uncomfortable ordering food, my wife hurries both of them through the menu while the waiter essentially stands there with an irritated demeanor and toe-taps. he takes the order and hes gone. I couldnt follow his interactions with the other tables but they didnt look like they were any better. what makes it worse is he didnt seem all that busy or rushed, while that doesnt excuse his behavior, it would have at least made it understandable. our drinks ran out and shortly after, our food arrived and it was pushed onto our table. if there was a utensil, cup, hand, cell phone, purse, whatever on the table, it was shoved out of the way by a plate.. at this point it was comical how much this dude did not give a damn. the plates were shoved onto the table and he was gone. The hot cocoa cups were empty, the water glasses still werent filled, and my tea was just ice. No drink refills, no mid-meal check up. He came by, asked if we would be splitting our check and that was the last of him. oh yeah, i forgot about the food.. Overall the food was “okay” but completely forgettable.. hell, ill only remember this place cause the waiter was a terrible host..

Sushi Revolution – Menu with Prices – 5225 Tacoma Mall Blvd Suite D101, Tacoma

Probably the worst sushi place we have ever been too. Extremely over priced for the horrible quality of sushi made. The food tasted old like it’s been sitting out for some time now.I’m surprised this place is still open for business. Now let’s talk about the service we received. One of their employees were super sweet to us who helped check us out. As far as the other employees I can’t speak much about them. I had requested for new sushi rolls which there are signs that say you can request for them. Instead of getting us new sushi, she pulls one from the belt and when we had asked if they were fresh she says yes. Clearly they weren’t by the quality of every sushi we had tasted since we got there. when I had told her that I didn’t want those she took them from me, rolled her eyes and went to talk about me to her other coworkers. When I had asked the sweet employee about ordering new sushi she had mentioned that the only way for me to get new sushi is by ordering at least 3 (when there are no signs saying there are any minimum requirements). Overall, our sushi experience here has been nothing but horrible! I would highly suggest no one come here due to the poor quality of food and even more so horrible customer service.
