Finally, some great Japanese food in Fresno. Not only was the food spot on in taste, and preparation but also the staff was kind and passionate about their work. My wife had the shoyu ramen which took a bit to come out, but had a delicious stock and was altogether very enjoyable. I went with the combo plate which came with their teriyaki meats including chicken, beef and shrimp. It was a little unusual to be served cold gyoza, but all temperatures of gyoza are served in different parts of the world so this is by no means a negative (I just dunked it in my wife’s ramen for a bit anyway). The meal came with a few cuts of sushi and some ginger which was a huge plus for me. We were very satisfied with their customer service and portions, and will definitely be back again!

Itto Ramen Bar & Tapas Menu with Prices 630 Haywood Rd, Asheville

So let me preface that my husband and I lived in Yokosuka, Japan for 2 years as my husband was stationed there in the Navy. This is obviously where we discovered our love for real good ramen. This is where ramen is made with dedication, discipline, love and fresh ingredients. Needless to say the bar for ramen anywhere else was set very high. So if someone says that they have real ramen, we have to check it out.. . Went here for the first time today for lunch at 1:00. Decided to give this ramen place a try as my husband and I just love love love ramen. Not to mention there isnâ??t really a ramen scene here, so we absolutely just had to come here. Do NOT, and let me repeat, do NOT be deterred by the negative reviews. This is a brand new restaurant, and itâ??s going through the typical growing pains any new business will have. So we went here expecting some delays and whatnot that comes with a new restaurant. However, we were BLOWN AWAY! . . Very well done exterior and outdoor dining area. Inside is very bright and clean with tasteful decorations. We were promptly greeted and seated by a very polite hostess. Our waitress Hannah was just amazing. From the time we were seated to the time we got our check, she was super sweet, attentive and knowledgeable about the restaurant. She confirmed that the ramen noodles are made from scratch, and that the owner/chef (from Japan) makes sure that everything is perfect before it leaves the kitchen. Even after they close, they are working on cooking the broth for the next day. It cooks for 7 hours! True dedication to the dish! Just as itâ??s done in Japan. . . Our food came out very quickly and was all so delicious! We had the pork steam buns, classic ramen and deluxe ramen. All of which were beautifully plated. We savored every bit of it given the dedication behind everything before us. Also, the portions are VERY generous and filling for tapas. The prices are very fair for the portions and superb quality. Again, this is also a TAPAS restaurant. Tapas means small plates. Not appetizer size, but not entrée size either. You wonâ??t get the monstrous sized portions you will get at a run of the mill hibachi steakhouse. The ramen is not served tapas style. Itâ??s actually pretty decent sized. Iâ??m only saying this because Iâ??ve read comments about the portions sizes, and itâ??s clear the term tapas wasnâ??t understood very well.. . All in all, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and out of this world food! Iâ??m so happy we found this gem! We will definitely be returning to further explore the menu and see this place grow. . . Highly recommend for a true ramen AND tapas experience!!! You wonâ??t find ramen in Asheville like this!

Ruan Thai Cuisine Savannah – Menu with Prices – 17 W Broughton St, Savannah

Extremely poor service. Will NOT return. My wife and I were in Savannah for a night out. We chose to try the restaurant for the first time on August 3rd 2019. We went into the restaurant and we were seated very quickly. My wife ordered a garlic dish and I ordered the family rice dish. My wife specifically said she did not want vegetables as the dish came with them. WhIle waiting for our food we had to flag three different servers down for more Pepsi. After a 35 minute wait our food finally came, only to find vegetables on my wifes order. My wife and I eat together. So I waited for her meal to return 20 minutes later her food returned, properly done this time. During the wait my food grew cold, and given all the other service issues we had, I asked for a manager. I was promptly told that the manager had left for the evening, and was asked by the lady what she could do to make it right. I explained to her that I didn’t mind paying for my wifes meal and our drinks, but that I did not feel like I should have to pay for a meal that was cold, especially after all of the other service issues we had. She then became very argumentative exclaiming that I had eaten it all. Over half of my meal was still on my plate. For the sake of argument I told her to bring me the bill. She did, with 10% off. We paid it and left. Never to darken the doors again.

Michi Ramen – Menu with Prices – 1014 W Sunset Rd #1018, Henderson

Amazing!! I was highly impressed with the entire experience from walking into the restaurant to leaving. Everything from the food to the customer service/hospitality was fantastic. My girlfriend and I both ordered Gyoza and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. The Gyoza came out quickly and was honestly one of the better potstickers I have had at an asian restaurant, and you would think there’s not really much you can do to make a potsticker “delicious” but it was just that. I actually had to order another set of potstickers because it was so good. Our server was very quick and attentive and noticed when we were done with the appetizer and immediately took the plates off our table so that we would have more elbow room. Our ramen came out soon after and my goodness it was great. I’ve had my fair share of ramen at many different locations, but this easily stood out as one of my favorites after just my first bite into it. The noodles were the right texture and cooked right, the pork had great flavor, and the broth was incredible. On top of the great food, our server was incredibly hospitable and checked in with us regularly, refilling our sodas and gave us our check promptly without us having to wait too long. The server and chefs all waved us goodbye as we exited the restaurant. I am not a Las Vegas/Henderson native, but the next time I come back out here to visit my girlfriend, I’ll definitely make sure to set aside some time for some good ramen again here!

Mandys Cafe Menu with Prices 4725 Panama Ln Ste D, Bakersfield

I really don’t know what to say about this place. We decided to try it for lunch. The service was extremely slow but it wasn’t the fault of the servers. The kitchen was backed up because of an amount of customers that I assume was unusual for them to handle. I watched as the cook took one ticket at a time off the spindle. Very generous portions and very fresh food but so slow that parts of the dish served died before it got to the table. I ordered the club sandwich which should be a very simple thing to put out. Donna ordered a Cobb salad which again should be simple. Even though it was more than 40 minutes before we got our food. We noted the servers standing at the window waiting for food with nothing else to do. The kitchen appeared to be completely overwhelmed. A table of 10 was served one person at a time. Their breakfast food looked delicious but because of the slowness they were not able to enjoy their meal together until I’m sure some of the food was cold. When I got my club sandwich it was served with fries but they were lukewarm and limp. The contents of the sandwich turkey and bacon were both very fresh and tasty. Donna’s Cobb salad was also very generous and included a whole avocado. We may try it again but for breakfast because I doubt we will be back for lunch.

Hachi Ramen – Menu with Prices – 655 W Warner Rd #114, Tempe

As a self-proclaimed ramen enthusiast, I can confidently say that Hachi Ramen is the best Ramen in Arizona! I’ve visited many ramen shops in the valley and Hachi is by far my favorite. They offer a great combination of quality food, timely service, and excellent pricing that’s hard to find these days. Their restaurant is casual and cozy, utilizing warm colors throughout and tastefully decorated with posters of popular anime. I’ve eaten many meals there and have not been disappointed a single time. My favorite ramen dishes are the Tonkatsu (pork broth based) and Shoyu (chicken broth based). Get the Tonkatsu if you are craving a heavier meal with a fatty taste or the Shoyu if you like salty miso flavor. Lastly, the ahi tuna poke bowls and homemade gyoza are excellent too if you want to try something else.

Ten Gu Ramen Menu with Prices 5397 Gosford Rd #200, Bakersfield

I’ve been here twice so far, I like that they are the only ramen place in town that actually offers kimchi. I personally think kimchi is kind of a given with ramen bowl’s, so it’s nice to see at least one place that carries it. They serve the bowls with sides in separate dishes and the sides are served cold, which i thought was strange. Kimchi I know is served cold, but the eggs and extra meat for example should NOT be served cold. I’m used to all the sides to be put INSIDE the bowl. The reason for this is because the bowls come out hot but after you add all your sides the bowl is lukewarm, which I did not like. Another thing I found rather bizarre is the fact that you only get half an egg. Really? I’ve never been to a ramen place that serves a half instead of a full egg. Can’t be that much more to just include the other half, only reason I can think of doing that is trying to save money. I really wish Japanese places served beer besides beer from Japan, most people these days enjoy craft beer w at least one IPA option, not sure people love Japanese beer that much to have it as the only option. Besides that I can say that the service is stellar, they pay close attention to its patrons and are right there to see to anything you might need.

Mitaka Japanese Ramen House – Menu with Prices – 6749 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton

2.5/5 stars….the food is lack luster, the atmosphere could be better, what Mitaka feels like is an IMPRESSION of what a good ramen place might look like…. but falls very short. The food is overpriced for the quality they are serving, everything I ate while here was ….disappointing, the gyoza had very little flavor, the broth was sweet and heavy…not things that come to mind when lm I think of ramen, the noodles were chewy and damn it why does EVERY ramen bowl they serve have egg … even the vegetarian ramen (kind of defeats the purpose there if you add egg) NOT impressed by the experience, atmosphere or the food, staff however was friendly so that is a plus but that is about all I can say positive about the experience. This would be a good place to go if don’t really care about questionable ramen or you just don’t know better For what the food costs I definitely wont be back for $6for 6gyoza and $13.50 for a bowl of spicy ramen that i couldn’t bring myself to finish.

mizu ramen sushi – Menu with Prices – 12124 N Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City

My family and I tried this place for the first time this week. We’re always looking for new places to eat and we were craving ramen and sushi, so we decided to come to Mizu. This was an old thai restaurant, with a good amount of seating. Atmosphere is nice and casual. Hubby and I ordered ramen. I ordered the seafood ramen and hubby ordered the tonkatsu ramen. I ordered mine bc it said the broth was spicy. Hubby ordered his bc the waiter said it’s their best seller. My oldest son ordered the Sooner roll, and my youngest ordered gyoza. We also had the takoyaki. Takoyaki was delish. Would def order them again. My oldest loved his Sooner roll and the youngest devoured his gyoza. Ramen- hubby said his was very bland and was lacking flavor, so was mine. When you first bite into the noodles, it was very bland. Other places that I have eaten ramen, the first bite usually leaves a good flavor in your mouth. I found myself adding more and more salt and season to my bowl. Each of the bowls had a fair amount of meat in it…. but it was really lacking flavor. When our waiter asked us how was our food, we told him the truth. The ramen was really lacking flavor. My bowl was $15.., and hubby’s was I think, $10 or so. He told the owner, so she came over and asked us about our concerns… we told her, which we appreciated that she wanted our feedback on it. Her name was Sammie, super sweet and friendly. After listening to our feedback, she came back and offered us 25%off on our next visit. We said we would be back to try something different… but my kids loved their food. To top it off, our waiter came back to our table and offered us mango mochi on the house. That right there, is what I call good customer service. So instead of giving this place a bad review, I give it a positive review considering it’s pretty new and they have plenty of room for improvement. We will def try it again.

Kiki College Hill – Menu with Prices – 5932 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati

We have been waiting for Kiki to open, for what feels like forever! We went on opening night and they did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is simple, yet inviting. The staff was great and managed the rush of guests with ease. We had a short wait and were seated in what looks like it could be also used as a private event room. The menu is not overwhelming and offers descriptions of each item, which I appreciate, but still had to google a few items. We decided to try an array of appetizers, in addition to each getting the Shio Ramen (Ramen with Pork Belly). We shared the Pork Gyoza (pan fried ‘dumpling’), Kakiage (lightly tempura battered vegetables (carrots, zucchini, okra, onion) and fried like a fritter), Curry Pan (Potato, Onion and carrot wrapped in ‘bread’, rolled in Panko and fried). The Pork Gyoza and Kakiage were my favorite! Each were so perfectly prepared and just delicious! The Curry Pan was my least favorite as it was more sweet than I anticipated, as it was made with sweet potato. The ramen was also delicious! The Pork Belly was super tender and flavorful! While the serving looks small, it’s very filling! We loved Kiki so much, that we came back a few days later and tried a few different appetizers: Oroshi Ponzu Karaage (lightly breaded pieces of chicken), Edamame (salted soy beans) served cold; good, but odd since I’m used to steamed edamame, and the Harusame Salad (glass noodles with seaweed and vegetables) which had good flavor, but very interesting texture. I could have had a whole meal of the Karaage alone, it was amazing!! Overall, I highly recommend trying everything you can. All of the food is high quality and thoughtfully prepared. The staff is great and the atmosphere is chill. Get on over to Kiki!

Kumai Ramen – Menu with Prices – 3875 Venture Dr Suite A2, Duluth

Kumai Ramen is located inside of the Jusgo Supermarket off of Venture Drive. It’s on the backside of the upper level food court. There’s plenty of seating and it’s super clean. After you order they give you a little buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. I’ve been there atleast 5 times now and each time it never disappoints. I’ve had the tonkatsu Ramen, garlic tonkatsu Ramen, vegetable Ramen, teriyaki beef and eel bowl and the takoyaki snack. All of it is good and packed with flavor. The portions are huge for the price and they definitely get you full. The Ramen noodles have a great consistency and the broth is rich with flavor. The pork melts in your mouth and I always save it for last. I also love the salted egg that comes in the bowl. To be honest I have no complaints. I tried takoyaki for the first time here and it was amazing. I try not to get it every single time I come but knowing how good it is it’s hard not to! If you’re looking for great Ramen and friendly customer service this is the place to try!

Hakata Ikkousha – Menu with Prices – 3033 Bristol St, Costa Mesa

I’ve been to a good amount of ramen shops and I even work at a ramen shop, but I feel like Ikkousha is my all-time favorite. I love how their thick broth coats the thin noodles, and their egg is seasoned lightly and cooked well so that there’s a soft, runny yolk. The meat is quite thin and sparse, but I think it works with their ramen since thicker meat would make the dish feel too heavy. They also make their own noodles which is pretty cool! My go-to is the godfire level four. I don’t know any other place that makes a tasty spicy tonkotsu ramen that’s actually spicy. If you’re not sure about the spice level, I’d start with level two to gauge how much spice you want. Sometimes I want the black tonkotsu but still want godfire, so I get the black devil since it’s a mix of both! It’s not on the menu though, so you have to ask for it. The fried chicken and gyoza are both great appetizers too! The chicken is crispy and juicy and the gyoza comes with a yuzu chili sauce that is the perfect condiment for it. Sometimes I don’t even have to pay for it because they have a stamp card that gives you free food!! Parking in this lot can be atrocious during peak lunch and dinner hours. They do offer valet if you’re into that, but you can park in the nearby neighborhood too.

Kauboi Izakaya – Menu with Prices – 1286 S Virginia St, Reno

I’m not sure how I’ve missed this place for so long! Kauboi is a great spot for groups of people to enjoy a delicious meal. I say “groups of people” because this is really Japanese tapas, and there are so many menu options that you will want to try a little bit (or a lot of bit) of everything; so the more the merrier! Luckily for me, and for many of you, there are wonderful vegan and vegetarian options here. I had the Vegetarian Ramen, Mushroom Gyoza, Edamame, and Veggie Tempura. I did not go home hungry. The breakdown– The Vegetarian Ramen: plentiful, and much more flavorful than many other veggie ramens I have had elsewhere before. The Mushroom Gyoza: yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Whenever there is a vegetarian dumpling option, I seize the day. This particular dumpling was seared perfectly and absolutely divine. The Edamame: standard. The Veggie Tempura: the most deliciously salty, savory, crunchy dish. This was easily one of the best tempuras I have had in my life. My dinner partners enjoyed a variety of meat and seafood dishes including Giant Squid, Chicken Hearts, Crab Croquettes, Shrimp Fritters, Fried rice with Crispy Duck. The list goes on. Kauboi does not take reservations, and they do not do to-go orders, which I admire. This tells me that Kauboi is unwilling to compromise the integrity of their food, as well as the quality of service to their customers that are already seated and awaiting a good meal. The service was more than friendly and the cocktails were on point. I can’t wait to come back!
