Their Mangonada is on point. T.M.I. but around my T.O.M I always crave something with chamoy. If you don’t get what that means, ignore me. I just crave this stuff bad at least once a month. Vero Snacks never lets me down. I usually come in and get their Mangonada with extra tajin. I love that the friendly and sweet ladies working here never disappoint, especially when I ask for extra tajin. It’s always made to my liking. Their fruits are always fresh and everything is always done just right. The pricing for everything here is pretty cheap. Besides the mangonada, they also have diablitos, which I sometimes prefer. They also have sliced fruits with tajin, savory snacks, fresh fruit juices, shaved ice, smoothies, and lots of ready made snacks to go. The inside of this place is small and very casual. It’s more of a grab and go type of place but there are a few tables and chairs. Cannot wait to come back.

Churros Cafe – Menu with Prices – 3100 Kingman St, Metairie

Churros Cafe was my first run in with Cuban food a few years ago. I’ve been coming back here ever since. My fave is the Medianoche (midnight) sandwich and their freshly squeezed exotic fruit juices. Authentic and delicious all around! The midnight bread is soft, light and fluffy and the pork, ham, cheese, mustard, and pickles all complement each other very well. I honestly haven’t tried much else, because every time I come here, I crave the medianoche sandwich. The restaurant is tucked in on the east side of Clearview mall. The owners are super sweet and even though they prefer Spanish, they’ll get your order in English too. There’s even a table for the Cuban Mafia, a variety of funny and whimsical signs (such as trade coffee for gossip), and pictures of all the exotic fruits they use to make their juices. Oh and if you have a business card, drop it in for their weekly draws..you might win yourself a free meal!

Panchitos Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 2245 Bardstown Rd, Louisville

What to get: street tacos (especially the lengua) Time seated: 0 mins, self seated (Saturday at 6PM for 2) Time food arrived: 15 mins Ambiance: fast casual Parking: tight parking lot with few spaces, street parking? **$10 for 3 tacos, 1 drink, 1 ice cream deal!** ==The Food== ++Lengua Taco++ This one was my favorite! The flavoring was all there and the meat was tender. When I’m looking for street tacos, this is what I’m looking for. Reminds me of home back in California and anywhere that serves lengua is a tip off that they know what they’re doing. ++Fish Taco++ Another tasty one and a good choice. My favorite fish taco is still at El Mundo, but this is a rivaled 2nd. ++Shrimp Taco++ I found this one to be different than I expected. It has the sweet chili sauce, which makes me think of the sweet and sour sauce used in Chinese cuisine. I’m more of a savory type honestly, but if that’s your thing, go for it. ++Mangonada++ Alright, the famed dessert that everyone has to try here. Fresh mangos and mango sorbet covered with chamoy (sweet sauce) and tajin (lime, salt, chili powder) + a tamarind stick. Depending on how much they put of each, you’re in for a rollercoaster of flavors. I’d suggest balancing out some of the tajin with mango sorbet or it can get kind of salty. The tamarind is stuck on a straw pretty tightly, so you’ll have to rip it off with your teeth (kind of like a thicker fruit roll up). It’s a fun, interactive dessert to try. Personally I think once is enough for me, but I can see people returning just for this since it’s the most popular dessert on the menu. ==For Next Time== -Tacos: asada, pollo, carnitas -popsicles

Fiesta Palebolis – Menu with Prices – 802 Nogalitos St, San Antonio

Y’all. San Antonio has the BEST refresquarias, and this is one of them!!! First of all, things I loved about it: right off of the trails which is absolutely perfect for a mid ride biking snack! Also, it’s just so cute!! See my pictures to see what I mean. It has a stand alone building with its sign and different flavors of paletas (all homemade and such a variety to choose from)! Then the little truck outside and the patio tables. Looooved the whole vibe of it. When I saw the different paletas and snacks on the side of the truck I knew I had to try the paleta loco just from the picture!!!! It is a lime paleta (You can actually choose different paleta flavors if you want) topped with chamoy and chili powder/tajin and underneath are HOMEMADE ICE BOX PICKLES!!!!! Seriously y’all, I felt like a kid again eating this dessert because my dad would always make ice box pickles in the summer and it reminded me of that plus the drippy delicious paleta…. the whole thing was a true joy. My husband got the mangonada, delicious and huge too! My only regret at this place… that I didn’t try the snacks! But don’t worry, I will be back here again next time we come to San Antonio! It’s a gem!!!

Pekes Frutería Y Neveria – Menu with Prices – 2622 W Walnut St #210, Garland

I think this place isn’t on here because I tried to check in but couldn’t find it. Anyways it’s been open for at least a year now. They were a bit fresh when it just opened but they have gotten their roots. When we first came here we got mango with chili. The mangoes were bitter and the chili was chili. We also had their mangonada awhile back and it’s wasn’t too special. This time I got mango and watermelon with yogurt. The mango was good and the watermelon was ripe. The yogurt added a nice sweet taste. My husband got the mangonada and they used the natural shaved ice with chamoy and chili. He said it was good and was better than the last time he had it. Our total for both was $9 which isn’t too bad bc it is a little healthy you know.. they also have other Mexican snack favorites as well..

Sweet Rainforest (Smoothie & Juice Bar) – Menu with Prices – 8046 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia

Cute cafe situated right before the entrance of the insect and butterfly pavilion. This new place offers the most refreshing drinks, consisting of fresh fruit and juices, coffee and teas. One of the friendliest and hardest working owner that wanted to bring this together that benefits the insect/butterfly pavilion, bringing more awareness for the living things out there, and be one with nature. What is more natural than real fruits? Packed with antioxidants, nothing is more rejuvenating than having a glass. I got the F4, and the combination of a variety of fruits is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and honored to be the first to review. I highly recommend to come in and try it! Learn about the little things in life while you’re here ? Accepts cards and cash.

Fruit Creations – Menu with Prices – 4101 US-77, Corpus Christi

The fruit is always fresh and really delicious! The smoothies are great as well, great variety of fruits and juices to choose from to make your own flavor. Also you can add protein scoops to your smoothies which is always a plus! Different sandwiches with a choice of bread or croissant, and the bread is just the best. I was unsure of their Saturday hours so I called about 9 in the morning and a lady answered and said she had numerous fruit tray orders for the day and didn’t open till noon but if I wanted something I could knock on the front door and she would make whatever I wanted. Awesome! Love going here!

Frutas Locas – Menu with Prices – 1941 E Main St, Lakeland

I absolutely love this place. It started out as a fresh fruit stand and upgraded to a truck with fresh fruit, smoothies, drinks and other likenesses. They cut the fruit fresh each day and the toppings are authentic Mexican toppings like candy and chili sauce and powder. The mix of fruit and sauces/candies is different than what any non Mexican is used to but they taste so good you’ll be coming back for more. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are huge. They also now take card. My favorite so far is the mangonada, a mango smoothie with chilly sauce, chilly powder, a spicy candy wrapped around the straw and mango chunks.

La Princesa Frozen Treats – Menu with Prices – 9 E, Clemmonsville Rd, Winston-Salem

I have gone to La Princesa before with my mom and siblings and it was crowded but fun. Today I went in the early afternoon by myself and got a mangonada. The place was quite and very clean. The lady was friendly and fast at preparing my order. The mangonada was SUPER fresh and delicious all for under $5. Overall Iâ??m satisfied and will definitely return often.

Juicy Leaf Cold-Pressed Juice – Menu with Prices – 316 S Kalamazoo Mall #104, Kalamazoo

Pretty scant on the reviews here, I feel it is my duty to spread the good word. Okay so first of all, the juice is tasty. Everything I’ve had here has been good. I’ve learned what my personal preferences are, and that’s a big thing with making my juice purchase worthwhile. I seem to enjoy veggie based juices with a good hit of sweetness- like adding pineapple, lime, or apple. I don’t enjoy juices with ginger, just my taste. My favorite juice on their current menu is “Raise the Barre”, which is a green juice with some sweetness from fruit and a hint of spice from jalapenos (it’s not hot). I’ve tried some of their natural snacks as well, like the fruit rolls and dehydrated tomato pizza bites. Again, all great. I would highly recommend anyone check out Juicy Leaf! They seem pretty active on social media- facebook and instagram, so check that out for menus and even some deals/ discounts I’ve seen. Gives you an idea of price, too. While I recommend this to everyone, I always warn/ inform people about price. I’m inclined to think that many people don’t know the appropriate price point for these types of juices (Gee, a bottle of simply orange juice is $2 at meijer!). From what I’ve seen at other cold-pressed juice places, the prices here are pretty average. Remember that you’re getting a whole load of fruits and veggies! 8oz are usually $5, 16oz are $9 for most juices. They do offer cleanses, too (not my thing though). Do note that their bottles note a warning regarding that they are not heat-processed, etc. May not be a good choice for someone sensitive to allergens in food- definitely ask the employees if you’re concerned. I personally have never had an issue but just a note to keep in mind for any product of this nature, not just here! So all in all, I’m not mad at price. I do consider these juices a splurge for me personally, but I’m cheap and also consider buying coffee at a shop a splurge! Oh, they do offer coffee and warm drinks too. Employees are nice and knowledgeable. Definitely check it out!

El Original Mexico Lindo – Menu with Prices – 1301 Watrous Ave, Des Moines

Soooo, we never tried the tacos or Tortas here but we keep going back for the Mangonada De Nieve and Mangonada that’s just the mangoes in a cup! Seriously, they make them soooooo delicious that we crave these! Sometimes I wonder if we subconsciously come see my parents just as an excuse to come get some mangonadas! I have nothing but great things to say about this place! Service is five stars! Food is five stars! (I heard the tacos and other foods were delicious as well) just take my word for it and go get some! The only down side to this place is the parking lot is too small and they don’t have a big sign in front, only on their window front. There’s a small white food trailer blocking the window front though. But it’s on Watrous Ave off of SE 14th St. Look for a green sign that says “Ashley’s Salon,” its right next to it in the same building!

Hruska’s Kolaches – Menu with Prices – 2030 S 900 E, Salt Lake City

I’ve heard about this place for so long and also heard that they run out of pastries quickly. So it’s a high recommendation to go earlier in the day or you won’t get any. Once they run out they are done for the day. I did an advance order cause I was ordering a big order. This place specializes in kolaches. It’s a very delicious pastry filled with either a savory stuffing or a sweet fruit stuffing. The savory ones are stuffed and one will definitely be enough for breakfast. I ordered both the savory and sweet one. The egg kolache is very delicious and the Mexican kolache was also very good. The egg stuff kolache is a very good breakfast or brunch. The Mexican one has eggs and a slight tangy taste to it. There is other veggies in there but I didn’t recognize it. The fruit sweet ones are delicious. It’s not too sweet go it’s still perfect for breakfast. I do prefer the fruit only ones over the one with cream cheese. Highly recommend this place. And I also heard that they have a Saturday once a year that they do all you can kolaches. Worth it!!!!!

Starry Moon Menu with Prices 8001 Wyoming Blvd NE Suite B-7, Albuquerque

Our first time here and it was a very pleasant experience! Best way to describe is if your grandma opened up a boba tea shop, and put nothing but love into her drinks, this is the place to be! This store is locally owned by husband and wife, and she was very nice! Right when we walked in we were welcomed, and given a nice tour of their menu. If you have any questions then don’t be shy to ask! The owner is very friendly and knowledgable. We had ordered the “house milk tea with boba” and the “fresh fruit cup” under the “fruit tea” section. Both drinks were delicious and you can taste that they brew their teas fresh, and you ain’t going to expect no powder based wannabe drinks. I also added “mango cubes” to my fruit cup drink. Side note: the add on’s are not on the main menu or paper menu, but located on a little wooden board near the cash register where you order. They are also an additional 50 cents per topping. I might reconsider getting the mango cubes with the fruit cup next time, because the fruit cup drink has a lot of fresh fruits in the drink (depending on what they have). Today the drink had kiwis, oranges, and dragon fruit, and the base of the drink was a passion fruit tea. It was difficult to catch the mango cubes because it would just float to the top, and the other fruits would just get stuck at the end of the straw! Overall, a great experience! We loved the interior, it was very open and airy. The decorations had personality and you could tell the owners put their own twist in it. We will be back.
