Being from New Jersey, I have expectations. The interior wall has a large Point Pleasant, N.J. mural. I visited there many times growing up. Is this a real N. J. sub? I would say it is. Ordering it “Mike’s Way” gets you all the taste you would expect, N.J. style. The standard sub is a half loaf of Italian Bread, and is probably twice the size of a normal sandwich. They do have a mini size hard roll style bread for the light eaters. ( No such thing in Point Pleasant.) The service is great, with a prompt staff that is trained to deliver quickly, and they do. Beyond subs, there are wraps and a few other choices available. Some music from Jersey Boys or Bruce Springsteen would be great. Two large big screen TVs show the news and sports. The lobby is very attractive. More than you might expect. Most subs seem to be about $6.50, so the price is right for the quality they deliver.

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 2001 W Worley St Suite 100, Columbia

The service was quick. They were helpful in letting us know what options we had and to understand the menu since it was our first time. There is a variety of cold subs and several hot subs, mostly cheese stake variety with the option for chicken. They also have a Reuben in the hot section. They serve Pepsi fountain drinks, Suzanne iced tea, sweet and unsweetened. They have bottled sports drink and Buble. They have bag chips ( kettle, sun chips and other varieties.)and awesome looking chocolate chip cookies as well as large brownies. The facility is brand new with nice restrooms. The workers keep the tables clean quickly between visitors. They have the mini size on cold subs (about 5 inches), all subs have regular and giant sizes. Regular is about 8-9 inches. They said the giant is twice the Regular size. The quickest and easiest way to enter the parking lot is north bound on Stadium. There is an entrance right next to Jersey Mike’s. If you come off the highway and are heading south on Stadium, make a quick u turn on Worley and you’ll see the entrance on the right. I am excited to try another sub soon!

To Go Express – Menu with Prices – 415 City Island Ave, The Bronx

This is my favorite lunch place to order from. They have amazing paninis and wraps with all different varieties from vegetarian options to shrimp, and buffalo chicken(my personal favorite). The wraps and paninis which are about $8, also come with a soup during the colder months and a macaroni salad during the warmer months, I love that extra little bonus. Food is freshly made and good quality. They also have a great taco salad. Staff is friendly and orders are ready really quickly. They also deliver. 2 thumbs up for this place! Give them a try you won’t regret it!

Health Nut Cafe (Jim Thorpe Building) – Menu with Prices – 2101 N Lincoln Blvd, Oklahoma City

Rating based on the lunch counter aspect of this place. This restaurant is tucked away in the basement of the Jim Thorpe building, southwest of the Oklahoma State Capitol. It is in the style of a canteen, which probably does not elicit great thoughts in your mind. However, this restaurant is simply tasty. It has sandwiches and wraps, plenty of which are savory and tasty but really the theme here is healthful, responsible choices. That is not something you might expect in the bottom of the state building in Oklahoma. (Wild caught salmon melt? Helloooo???) Some wraps are served cold while they also have wraps in the form of a melt, which is served hot from a sandwich press. The owner might be the nicest human being on the planet as well. I enjoyed coming here. In fact, I often show up before my scheduled afternoon time just eat lunch here. This place is worth a visit whether you are in the Jim Thorpe building, or if you are in a surrounding buildings

P Reynolds Jazz Club & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1212 US-17 BUS, Myrtle Beach

The music was great! Recommend reservations. We called late the afternoon we went and got an 8:30pm reservation. Be prepared, this is a new business and the staff is working through the kinks. Clean, but plain, decor. Food was ok. Not a huge wine list, but the choices we had were good. Service was prompt and very friendly. We felt very welcomed. We were seated at 8:35pm as the band was just returning from a break. The band played straight through until about 10:15. Really enjoyed the music. A great way to spend a cold winter evening in Myrtle Beach. I hope to go again.

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 2104 Georgia St Suite 101, Greensboro

I don’t always get my subs from national chains, but when I do, I prefer Jersey Mike’s, and frankly there is no comparison, imho! The bread is always fresh, with the right amount of texture, takes the sub to the best level. The ingredients are also, fresh tasting, full of flavor – nothing appears prepackaged, then assembled as needed. The Italian Sub here is outstanding, very near the quality level achieved at the very best local shops – Mediterraneo, Giacomo’s Italian Market, Slices by Tony, and a few more. The Tuna Sub is also very nice, with a fresh tuna taste that is usually missing in subs, and most tuna salad where ever you order it – this has no bitterness, no staleness, no artificial after taste. The Veggie Sub was not quite at the level of the other 2, but it needs no apologies either. The service was excellent – I ordered on line, was told when it would be ready, and it was when I walked in the restaurant.

Mordiâ??s Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 320 Communipaw Ave, Jersey City

Best sandwiches in Jersey City and perhaps Manhattan, too (I work and eat there daily, too). Fantastic in quality, price, portion, and – most importantly – taste. After seeing mouthwatering pictures on Instagram for months, we had a minor obsession with finding Mordi’s food truck. We first tracked it down at one of the many Jersey City festivals and were quickly smitten. Since then, a visit to Mordi’s friendly storefront on Communipaw has become a weekend ritual. We order the Italian, with chicken schnitzel, and it pops with great quality bread, sauce, and toppings to match with the perfectly prepared chicken. We also order the chicken parmesan sandwich, one of the best I’ve ever had, with great bread, chicken, sauce, and cheese. We get one of each – for $10 a piece – and the portions are so generous that it keeps us happy and well fed for two meals. Service is friendly and quick, typically in and out in 10 minutes for to go orders. Make it your ritual, too. You won’t be disappointed!

Jeonis Wingstop – Menu with Prices – 1085 E Ferry St, Buffalo

The food is great: chicken wings are the best, meaty, a variety of choices, I chose lemon pepper, they’re the best . The menu has a wide variety of whatever your palate calls for; grilled chicken salad, burgers, roast beef, seafoods, pizza, any toppings, cappicola subs, fried mushroom, okra, tacos, etc. Everything! you must go try it for yourself. The atmosphere is friendly and pleasant. It is “The Best!”

P K Deli & Market – Menu with Prices – 716 E 64th St, Tacoma

I want to tell the whole world, DO NOT EVER GO & SUPPORT THIS STORE! My boys and their friend experienced racism in this establishment. They went there to buy candy and the owner told them that they needed to hurry and get out. He said he can’t stand young “black people” at his store. The boys ended up still buying something from his store when they left to prove they had money. I went there to confront him and he said by “experience” he had to protect his store. I asked if he ever saw these boys take anything in the past and he admitted No, but their kind has. I refuse to give any business to them. He was yelling in my face and had his hands up and said the boys were lieing, but he caught himself saying the same things the boys admitted. No one should ever be treated this way. IF YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS STILL RACISM AROUND, DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!

Subs ‘n Such – Menu with Prices – 1008 Florida Ave S, Lakeland

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a sandwich shop to grab a quick lunch while moving our son into Florida Southern College. Searched restaurants in the area on my iPhone maps app and saw yelp reviews had it at more than 4.0. It was less than a mile from the college. We actually drove by and missed the driveway. I could tell the passengers in the car were skeptical as the place looked small and we wondered if it had seating inside – which it did, but limited. We found out later they do a brisk takeout and delivery business. DO NOT judge a book by it’s cover! Subs n Such has been in business since 1977 and there is a quality reason why. Once inside we were greeted warmly by staff who explained the offerings and cheerfully gave personal FSC history and their close ties to the college. Several students work here, including delivering subs. It is a sandwich shop offering traditional deli sandwiches, hot dogs, and burgers. The subs are of varying sizes. In our party some ordered 6″ and 8″ subs and we all left happy and satisfied for only $32 plus tip. We had Philly Cheese Steaks, Meatball subs, and a Carlotta. All were delicious. The place really has a mom ‘n’ pop, local diner feel and the staff AND other customers were really friendly and happy to be there. Give it a try – it blows the chains away! I can’t wait for my next visit and a chance to show this hidden gem to more family and friends.

Jimmy’s New York Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 7123 S 92nd E Ave, Tulsa

I have to admit, that growing up in northern New Jersey I’m a bit of a pizza snob, so when my son-in-law suggested we try Jimmy’s New York Pizza I was cautiously pessimistic. The last place he took us for pizza didn’t turn out very well. But let me tell you Jimmy’s is worth the trip! It’s a little off the beaten path, behind the Quik Trip, so keep your eyes peeled. I knew Jimmy and I were going to hit it off right away when I told him I was from “Jersey ” and he said to me “Jersey, get out” with a smile on his face. I like a little east coast tude. Jimmy, his daughter and the entire staff were friendly attentive and made the trip. (Although he didn’t have a cork screw for our wine) we got a large cheese pizza and a large pizza with sausage and meatballs. Both were excellent. Then we topped the dinner off with a few cannolis, also very good. As you eat you are surrounded by pictures of New York and listening to the Chairman of the Board, Sinatra. I was humbled and appreciative of his wall remembering 9-11, which we spoke about and I’ll be sending him some new pictures soon. So if you’re looking for some great pizza and a little slice of New York in the Tulsa area, give Jimmy’s a try . He even has a new cork screw for your wine! Definitely going back on my next trip to visit our daughter and family.

Petty’s Meat Market – Menu with Prices – 6115 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne

Let me say this place is something special. All the staff are so friendly and cheerful. The guy behind the butcher counter had me cracking up while explaining all the choices of meat, the lady at the register told me her stories from Jersey while my sandwiches were being made. They have wine tasting, beer tasting, and free coffee. Many choices for condiments, suaces, marinades and dressings. Tons of cheese and wine and beer. They serve boars head lunch meat and will make your sandwich anyway you like. They have white bread, onion roll, kaiser roll, french roll, rye and marble rye bread. I ordered the Italian sub, dill chicken, and rueben. All were very very good. All prices are $6-7 dollars which is cheap for the size of the sandwich. They also have plenty of side such as Greek spinach salad, antipasta, Italian noodle salad, marinated mushrooms, two different kinds of cucumber salad etc. They also have hot items on special daily such as veggie or meat lasagna, stuffed peppers and other options. They bbq on the weekends so you can order your meat fresh from the butcher and have them cook it up!! Haven’t tried that yet but will in the future! Great food, great people, great service.
