While not necessarily the best Mexican food in Fresno, it gets major points as the only “sit down” restaurant in the area for miles (other than a Denny’s on Jensen,) with the only others being miles north downtown, or miles south in Easton. The only other lunch options in the area would be the Alberto’s on the corner of Elm and Jensen, and the numerous fast food chains on Jensen, as well as the aforementioned Denny’s. While there are numerous taco trucks in the area as well (that YELP refuses to add on here despite me trying numerous times,) all are pretty limited in selection in comparison to the rather large menu here. That’s not to say this place is only good because there’s no where else to eat around here- it’d still be a solid 4 stars if it were located anywhere else (well, except North Fresno/Clovis, where it would jump back up to a 5) and since I’ve been eating here from day 1 since it opened, I’ve learned what to get and what’s better at the taco trucks. Speaking of eating here from day 1, the first time I came in, they didn’t have their debit card system set up yet, and it was cash only. I didn’t know this when I ordered, and kinda embarrassingly told the cashier I only had 2 bucks in my wallet so I’d come back some other time. He told me that was fine and let me have my order anyway. THAT is customer service and how you get repeat customers- hope all you business owners that publicly (and privately) BLAST your customers take note. Anyway, as far as what to order… I’d stay away from tacos and burritos here, they’re kinda boring and you can get them at any taco truck. My personal favorites are the sopes, huaraches, and (surprisingly) the quesadillas. I’m not a big beans and rice eater, so I stay away from the larger combination plates. Oh, I forgot to mention that the prices you see are the prices you pay- tax has already been figured into the price. Nothing cleaner than just handing over a $5 bill and walking away ? Would I recommend you dropping whatever you’re doing and coming way the fuck out here? No, probably not. It is however, literally the definition of 5 stars- “as good as it gets” around this part of town.

Bella’s Cravings – Menu with Prices – 625 NE Killingsworth St, Portland

Excellent quality Mediterranean dishes served in an “upscale” food truck park. My Shish Kabob was nicely spiced (albeit slightly over salted) and our other dishes were quite flavorful. Food trucks are all the rage in Portland and the food truck parks are upscaling themselves to create a more park-like picnic ambiance to distinguish themselves. Bella’s Cravings is in one of the better parks with nice wooden pavilions for covered eating spaces. The truck itself is also quite artistically decorated. I’m amused by the numerous 5-star gushing the food trucks are showered with, as if they were Michelin rated restaurants. Bella’s Cravings is one of the better food trucks, yet I debated between 3 and 4 stars. I heard several customers being told that their orders wouldn’t be complete because the kitchen had run out of certain items. My order took close to 40 minutes to complete when I was told 15 (makes it a pain to order from multiple food trucks for a group). The food is quite good, but you’re still walking up to a counter to order and eating at an outdoor picnic table (and bussing your own table – not sure why they have a tip space on the receipt).

Paco y Lilia Tacos & Antojitos – Menu with Prices – 14158 Highway 377 S, Fort Worth

They are the beeest, the woman there is always so nice and kind and has such a happy glow. I come here at LEAST once a week and I love their chorizo breakfast burrito and their tortas the best (kinda going through everything on their menu slowly hehe), also, it’s rare to find good taco trucks by me so not only is it great to live by a taco truck but an amazing one.

Sinaloa Mexican & Seafood – Menu with Prices – 1759 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside

I had seen this place while going to the supermarket and had great reviews… Well they’re not all true I bought a fish taco and I got a quarter fish taco only realized once I had driven 8 miles home. When I informed them about it I got offered to come back and get a new taco the owner did not apologize and stated it’s only a $1.50 taco…I wanted a fish taco and got a cheap excuse I’m not making the prices if you can’t offer what you’re advertising for the price then just charge me more. Needless to say I’m not coming back, I guess if they skimp on this they do on everything else don’t fall for it.

Tacos Fiesta Mexicana – Menu with Prices – 4200 Peralta Blvd, Fremont

OK, first and foremost I’m not ashamed, I’m not scared, nor am I intimidated to order food from a food truck. Such mixed feelings when it comes to food trucks… I get it, I’ve heard many war stories from co-workers about the thin line you walk when ordering food from a food truck. I’ve been told to never eat from a food truck on Mondays because they use the remnants of the weekend’s leftovers, I’ve been told there all just glorified “roach coaches”, yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah and that could all be true, but not at Fiesta Mexicana….I think…..I hope. When it comes to taco trucks, Fiesta Mexicana is legit! I keep it pretty simple and straightforward. I’m not a taco truck connoisseur, nor do I go to multiple locations unless I’m captivated by the scent of a lone taco truck grilling up some carne asada from afar. Usually while I’m washing my car or waiting outside of a local DMV office. For the most part only one, this one, and it’s usually when I’m fresh off work. I come here when I have a specific taste for street style carne asada tacos and to my delight Fiesta Mexicana usually comes through with piping hot well garnished corn tortillas stuffed with carne asada, cilantro, onions and a combination of pickled jalapeños and carrots. A quick lunch fix with hard to beat prices. $1.75 for a taco…Not bad in my opinion. Fiesta Mexicana is a clean, well kept, consistent taco truck that offers tacos, burritos, quesadillas to the local Fremont community. Keep up the good work Fiesta Mexicana for I am a repeat offender. p.s.- CASH ONLY

Domino’s Pizza Menu with Prices 5800 Westover Ave, Anchorage

Ordered a pizza and a 2 liter of soda to drink it with. When the driver arrived i tipped the usual 10 dollars. Before he left i told him i didnt have my soda. His response seemed like he knew it and didnt say anything till i did. He said a driver was coming behind him to deliver it. 20 mins go by and still no soda. I live 1 min from the place. I called about it and all of a sudden its on its way out the door. So the driver never told them about it. So my pizza was already getting cold by the time i had my soda. Kinda mad.

Taqueria Guadalajara – Menu with Prices – 13303 Pacific Hwy, Everett

They could definitely work on their customer service, but they’re one of the better taco trucks in the Lynnwood/South Everett region. They’re a bit more expensive than other trucks in the area as they continue to raise prices, but their food tastes better. Be sure to ask for avocado on your tacos…They normally have a little gazebo set out with two plastic fold out tables. Last I checked, there was also a small ghetto tv playing Mexican soap operas in this gazebo…lmfao….plenty of sanitizer around so you know you’ll get your hands messy. I recommend the lengua burrito.

K & G Corner Deli – Menu with Prices – 169 Orange St, New Haven

I tried to have an order delivered to my office address today and was told we were too far away so the order would have to be over $25 for delivery (their requirement for deliveries over 1 mile). I told them we are 1.1 miles away and was told (quite rudely) that is still over 1 mile and so the requirement stands (even though they have delivered to my office many times in the past). I then went on their website which connected me to Doordash for online orders for delivery and it asked for the delivery address to confirm it could be delivered and delivery was approved and showed as 0.9 miles away. The refusal to deliver a $16 order because we were “too far away” at 1.1 miles (or 0.9 miles according to the delivery service) just cost them a bunch of business since I stop in at least once a week to pick up breakfast and my husband’s entire department orders from them often. Bad business practice.

Joses Taco Truck – Menu with Prices – 1531 E Grand Ave, Des Moines

Went on Sunday for the first time and we loved it. Food was delicious and owner keeps the eating area clean. There’s a hand washing area for customers, never seen that before. I would give it 5 stars but when we went, they were out of many things. This could be taken bad or good. Other customers there shared it is the best taco track and they continue coming back, so we will probably be going back as well!

Fresh Smoothies & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2450 Creston Ave, The Bronx

I would like to think it was because I came in 15 min to closing but that shouldnt change the attitude that you have towards the customer. I walked in and the ladies were talking they looked at me and continued talking. Very disrespectful didnt get greeted or anything, so I said excuse me and asked for what I wanted. Then I told her ill buy an orange juice aswell only for the simple fact that I wanted to see the machine working she stated that the machine is off and the juice was premade that defeated the purpose of wanting the juice so I didnt get it, but They have a lil process that’s done to meet customers satisfaction they serve you an ounce or 2 of w.e. smoothie you ordered to taste for perfection incase you want to add anything or change anything but as I get my sample the lady started to pour it in the cup, didnt wait for my opinion. It wasnt as cold as I would have wanted it to be but didnt wanna start anything I just said it was fine. The one moping gets mad because my boots were dirty she told me to stand by the door and the other lady tells me to come over to the cashier to pay and the one mopping gets mad. I just think for a first time experience on a Friday night it should have been a little better.. I’ll come again another time maybe I’ll change my rating but as of now very disappointed

Fonzi’s tacos – Menu with Prices – 891-839 H St, Modesto

I was in the mood for some good tacos and I saw that the reviews for this place were great. I ordered: one asada taco, one pastor taco, two chicken tacos, and one shrimp taco. I also got a nacho supreme? The nacho chips were stale and salty, I got asada for the meat because I was told it’s their more popular meat, and it was very salty. My daughter also found a hair in the nachos. As for the tacos, as stated before, the asada was salty, and the chicken was bland. My daughter wanted to try a shrimp taco, and it was too spicy for her to eat. I gave them three stars because the place is very clean and the prices are decent, but I’m not sure if I’ll be returning…

Italy Italy Ristorante – Menu with Prices – 1934 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne

Italy Italy stay away! stay away! Wow where to start, I’m a local resident of Melbourne and this was one restaurant that we had yet to try my daughter and I were going to the movie and wanted a bite to eat before so I googled and found Italy Italy , ok right down the street pretty good reviews let’s try it ….. bad idea don’t believe the good reviews there’s no way they’re real when we arrived there were maybe 5 or 6 tables seated it was just 5:15pm so not to busy we found a seat and waitress arrived she seemed out of place older lady not very professional we placed our order spaghetti with meatballs and chicken Alfredo, 45 minuets later we still had not been served the waitress kept making the excuse that they were sooo busy there were only 6 or 7 table seated I went to leave but was told that our food was ready and I could take it to go if I wanted, no, I said I don’t want it to go if it’s ready let’s get it on the table, Another 10 minuets went by here comes our food straight out of the microwave it’s literally steaming like molten lava after it cools down a bit we try to eat, The meatballs have no flavor at all the sauce tastes like ragu and the pasta had an off odd taste I couldn’t quite identify but it caused me to stop eating out of fear, My daughters Alfredo was extremely watery and had no flavor so we just asked for the check I just wanted to get out of there the waitress brought the check told me she was giving me half off because of my wait ,I told her it was the worst meal I have ever had she then chastised me “don’t say things like that in front of my customers” she took my card when she brought my slip to sign I saw that she had charged me the full price of the meal so I signed and went to leave , she caught us at the front door and said she would like to speak to me out side I said ok once outside she lit into me with a barrage of nastiness telling me how rude I was to say those things in front of her customers and I was not welcome there , ok no problem your food sucks I won’t be back believe me. Unbelievable I’ve never be accosted by waitstaff outside a restaurant I just kinda stood there dumbfounded anyway please stay away from this place believe the bad reviews they are true.

kono food alley – Menu with Prices – 3188 Telegraph Ave, Oakland

Had a medical appointment in the “Pill Hill” area of Oakland (the area with lots of dr’s offices and hospitals near Uptown). Walking to my car, I noticed an inviting and beautiful color flyer posted on one of the telephone poles advertising Kono Food Alley, which just happened to be near where I parked so hubby and I thought we would try it, since we never heard of it. Wow, what a find! Evidently it’s a new food court that just opened up kind of like a mini Off-the-Grid and today happened to be the very first day! Therefore, everything was so fresh, new, and clean. The Alley is small and although they started out with only two food vendors, the owner is arranging for more food trucks to come. After all, this was only the first day. I got a meat empanada at the Argentine food truck and it was savory, fresh and delicious. The dough was very nicely done, not too thick and the filling adequate. Several other flavors of empanadas were: chicken, pulled pork, mushroom cheese & onion, a vegetarian one, and several sweet dessert type ones. At the taco vendor, Hubby got a steak taco, chili verde taco, and I got a nopales taco, all so fresh, made to order and delicious! Prices were reasonable at $5 per empanada and $3 per taco. This place has lots of potential. The owner is enthusiastic and you can tell food is his thing. He says he’s in the process of bringing in more food trucks so there should be more in store soon. What I really liked about this place is that it was really clean, new and upbeat. If you work or have a medical appointment in the area, or attend one of the nearby nursing schools, this is a great place to grab lunch or something to eat on the run without having to go to a restaurant. But keep in mind their hours are short, 11:00 am-2:00 pm Mon-Thurs, and their poster says they will be open all summer. I’ll be back to try other things when I’m in the area!
