I used to come here since high school (it’s right across the street!), and I’ve been frequenting here again since I’ve moved back home after 6 years. I’m not a huge donut fan, but their croissant and bagel sandwiches are AMAZING. They always come out hot and fresh, and the way they make their eggs is so delicious! The workers are always super nice and have a smile on their face. I would recommend the egg ham and cheese croissant if you want a suggestion on what to get! If you’re craving something sweet, their smoothies are not bad either, although it’s probably not going to be super healthy ? Keep in mind, though, that cash is probably better to bring here!

White Lotus Farms Menu with Prices 7217 W Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor

These croissants are worth the hype. While I haven’t been to the farm itself yet, I’ve visited their stand at the Ann Arbor farmer’s market on Wednesdays and Fridays and also purchased their products at Argus Farm Stop (Tuesdays), and the baked goods I’ve tried were all delicious. The croissants are very good, by far the best I’ve had in Ann Arbor (yes they are better than Zingerman’s). I especially recommend the plain croissant ($3) and the seasonal croissant ($4), which changes monthly. The chocolate croissant ($3.50) didn’t have as nice of a texture as the plain croissant I tried, but it was still the best chocolate croissant I’ve had in the area. The almond croissant ($3.50) is also good but not great – the filling is more moist and sweet, but the croissant portion is a bit dry and the texture isn’t my favorite. For reference my personal ranking of almond croissants is: 1. Crust, 2. White Lotus, 3. Pastry Peddler, 4. Roasting Plant, Golden Wheat (eg at Comet Coffee), and 5. Avalon. The morning bun ($4) is made with croissant dough and is good if you have a very very sweet tooth; for me personally it was too sugary. The bread is also really good. I really love the cranberry walnut but all the ones I’ve tried have been great. At the farmers market they offer samples of bread and cheese (which they’re super friendly and generous with!), so you can try some before committing to an entire loaf. If you don’t mind day olds, Argus Farm Stop sells their leftover bread for half off the next day (Wednesdays). Keep in mind that the bread will become stale after a day or two though.

Tropical Icy – Menu with Prices – 1701 E Broadway, Lubbock

Tropical Icy is super tasty. The ice is shaved super fine and they have a lot of flavor options. They are CASH ONLY, so make sure you bring cash. They are super affordable– small ($2), medium ($2.50) and large ($3). Super sweet lady running the place! Definitely worth the drive to the east side of town

Trung Nam French Bakery – Menu with Prices – 739 University Ave W, St Paul

Went to Trung Nam French Bakery this morning for breakfast for croissants and Banh Mi’s! (Prices are estimated because I can’t remember) Deluxe Bahn Mi – $6.50 My Rating: — It comes with extra meat and seriously so delicious. The bread is baked fresh, so the inside of the French bread is literally so soft and goes so wonderfully with the crispy outside. Buttered Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — So so delicate and soft Coconut Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — I didn’t really taste the coconut flavoring, but I’m just not a fan of coconut flakes in general, however it was very soft and decadent Blueberry Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — I love blueberry everything and this completely hit my sweet spot soooo well. It was so soft and fluffy, definitely exceeds a 5 star rating to me lol. Hours: 8AM-1PM Mon-Sat– Come early as this bakery is open during bakery hours of business, so they will run out of pastries at any given time. Cash Only! Overall Experience: — I would recommend this to friends and family. I’ve never been here but have received pastries from here by my siblings when they would go during business hours. Please bring cash as this business only accepts cash. They do have a sit down area in which is free for patrons to seat themselves and dine in, however there are more people who order and leave right away. The customer service is great, I think they are very great about informing people if they have ran out of a particular flavored croissant and suggest that people can call in to make those orders at their next visit so that the flavored croissant of choice can be saved. As I sat and dined in, I noticed that though the environment may not look as appealing, the customers were all very happy and excited to bite into their pastry. I personally feel that this bakery really gives off a happy-good morning vibe, they understand that everyone is in a rush to get to work and come in for a quick pick-me up. This was my husband and my first time here on all of our years living in MN. Definitely coming back for breakfast soon!

Brightside Bakeshop – Menu with Prices – 713 Porter Rd, Nashville

Brightside Bakeshop is one of the absolute best and most creative bakeries I have found in Nashville. I wish there was a higher rating than 5 stars! The first time I went in I didn’t know much about them. I saw a few of their beautiful pastries on Instagram and that alone sold me on giving it a try. Unfortunately for me is I hadn’t been paying enough attention to realize that they sell out, and QUICKLY! By the time I rolled in around 10:30 am there was only about half the selection left. I went with a savory ham and cheese croissant, the berries & cream (seasonal, no longer available at least this year), and the cinnamon bread pudding. To say I was blown away is an understatement, and to prove that I’ll list the others I’ve tried: chocolate croissant, almond croissant, sunshine roll, southern croissant (another seasonal with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese), cinnamon roll….seriously the list goes on and on. On top of that, the staff is amazing. The bakeshop gets busy early on the weekends, but they do not rush you and will take the extra time to explain the offerings or make recommendations. I 100% recommend everyone checks out Brightside, go in early, and get yourself at least one savory and one sweet. You will not be disappointed!

The Victory Madison – Menu with Prices – 2710 Atwood Ave, Madison

This is an adorable and quaint coffee shop! It feels like a dive bar that exclusively sells coffee and coffee products. To begin with, there are some limitations when coming here. First, there is only street parking available for when you decide to come. The advantage is that there always seems to be parking near by! In addition, they do not have any wifi in the building. So bring a book or two and catch up on your readings! Finally, this place is cash only which is completely cool! I love how it’s a local business and that it’s cash only. It makes me believe my cash is going back to the community and not to a major business. Now it is time for the good things about The Victory! The staff is so sweet and down to earth. They always greet you with a warm smile, and they make you feel just at home! They make sure your drinks come in a prompt manner, and they will make sure you have a pleasant stay from entering to leaving. The coffee is also impeccable. The flavors of the coffee are phenomenal and I adore their hot coffee. In addition to their dope coffee, they have a nice variety of food dishes for someone to choose from!

Foothill family Donuts Menu with Prices 624 Morning Dr, Bakersfield

This is a great place to grab something to satisfy your sweet tooth if you’re in the area. The donuts are fresh throughout the morning and are pretty tasty. My favorite is the ham and cheese crossiant but you have to get there early if you want in on them…they sell out often. But if you have some time to spare, the staff is always willing to make up another batch. Speaking of the staff, they are always super friendly and go out of their way to greet you and make sure you leave with a smile. Just as a heads up, they charge 50 cents for use of debit and credit cards and do not give cash back.

LeanFeast – Corona, CA – Menu with Prices – 540 Hidden Valley Pkwy STE 101, Corona

If you like eating healthy or just short on time, this spot hooks it up. Most meal prep companies I have heard of require you to order online and wait for delivery days but LeanFeast is a game changer. You can simply walk in, buy a meal or two or ten, and walk out. It’s like a Chipotle but for meal preps! First, you choose from their proteins (bbq tri-tip, buffalo chicken, teriyaki chicken, chicken fire, turkey patties, etc.) and specify how many ounces you’d like. Next, you pick your carbs (rice, quinoa, potatoes, etc.). Then, the veggies. You can mix and match and they give plenty. Just pay and you’re done. LeanFeast makes eating healthy convenient and easy. They also offer specialty meals, protein shakes and healthy snacks. The people that work there are super nice too. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area! P.S. – bring in your clean LF containers for 5% off!

ISLAND FIN POKE – Menu with Prices – 41 Park Ave Ste 2, Worcester

I have never tried Poke before and went into this place with an open mind a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere of the place was very welcoming and clean. The staff were all amazing and provided excellent customer service. Each and every member had a smile on their face! I did a make your own bowl with double chicken and shrimp. I added a few of the assortment of toppings they had from edamame to pineapple-mango salsa. It was absolutely delicious. It was exactly how poke was described, basically a sushi roll but in a salad form! I was also recommended what sauce to put on it and she recommended the sweet but semi spicy one and it was the perfect match on the chicken and shrimp. After finishing my meal they brought over a sample of the two dole whips they were offering at that time. They always have pineapple and at the time were serving strawberry. It was also delicious! I highly highly recommend trying poke if you haven’t and if you’re in the area I highly recommend Island Fin!

Grace Donut – Menu with Prices – 1146 E Seminary Dr, Fort Worth

Omg YES! This place looks sketchy when you pull up, but it’s really one of the best donut places I’ve ever been too, even better than my favorite donut place in my hometown growing up! Of course they’re nice, but also the food is AMAZING and they had a couple extra things that I tried that aren’t so easy to find sometimes. They even had a big croissant stuffed like a pig in a blanket with cheese the dough was fluffy and flakey and the sausage was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also had sweet glazed ham and cheese mini croissants. Absolutely recommend trying this place for a quick delicious breakfast. I dont leave reviews often unless a place really makes an impact on me, so theres that =)

Kona Loa Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2750 Alton Pkwy Ste 141, Irvine

Nothing short of perfection. After having a horrendously sinful evening the night before, my 83.76% sober butt went to go look for food to sober up even more. When ended up at this coffee place around 8 in the morning. Service: everyone was so sweet especially the girl working the register because I explained her to that my contacts weren’t on so I was super blind at the moment. She said no worries and proceeded to let me look an enlarged pictures of the menu. She also was very informative of the menu seeing that I couldn’t read the menu that was hung up on the wall. So ty for that ? Food: as shown in the picture, I got a toasted croissant sandwich with fluffy eggs, bacon and cheese. Just LOOK at the FLUFFINESS of that egg. It’s beautiful. And it tasted amazing! Props to whoever created the menu with this dish. I’ve had a lot of breakfast croissants sandwiches and this light just be at the top because of how fluffy the eggs was and how freshly crisp the bacon was. They didn’t overdo it on the cheese either . I got the peach oolong tea and it tasted as you would expect; but there wasn’t any sugar so this is a healthy breakfast place more or less. There wasn’t anything about the drink that wowed me bc hey it’s just a flavor tea . My friend ordered an angus cheeseburger and from what I saw, it looked and to her it tasted divine. This was a TRUE sandwich. Overall:10/10 recommend! All of their food (from what I saw) looked spectacular and I’m pretty sure it tasted great too!

The Healthy Hippy – Menu with Prices – 154 Elizabeth Ave, Newark

Here’s what you’ll want to know when visiting The Healthy Hippy. 1. Bring cash: Or have Cash App available to pay for your order. This establishment does not accept debit/credit cards. 2. Parking is limited: There is barely any parking in front of the establishment. You will more then likely need to park on the side street – not a big deal. 3. Be prepared to take out: It’s a very small “hole in the wall” place. Not much room to eat in. The food is prepared and packed up pretty good so it was still warm once I got home. 4. Some items on the menu include soy in the ingredients. According to one of the owners and at the time of this review I can say both the fish sandwich and the Chz steak are the only items that contain soy. Now onto the food. I am not vegan but I don’t eat meat. I eat a predominantly plant-based diet but focus more on the healthy aspects rather then the complete avoidance of animal products, per se. I love vegan food and have strong taste buds that can quickly discern when any kind of food is bland or tastes “off”. With that being said- my taste buds LOVED this food! I ordered both the Italian hotdog and the Italian sausage to taste both. The seasoning was for the most part – on point! The sausage tasted better then the hotdog which tasted a tiny bit too salty to me. I definitely preferred the sausage. This food was magnificent! Definitely deserves 5 stars HOWEVER I’m giving 4 stars for one reason. My reason for giving 4 stars is because the food is NOT healthy. Despite what the name of their establishment implies. French fries, ketchup, mustard, soy, white bread (rolls) and God knows what else! Is far from healthy. Immediately after eating the food, I got a sharp pain in my stomach which lets me know I shouldn’t have been eating this ? In their defense however, I probably have the most sensitive stomach in NJ so it’s not like their food is unhealthier then any other vegan establishment. And It’s certainly possible that I may even be slightly more critical with this review since “healthy” is mentioned in their name and despite what most are led to believe – Eating vegan does not automatically equate to Healthy hence me having a tad bit of issue with The HEALTHY Hippy. Anyways, despite the food being unhealthy and containing soy, I will probably return. I also recommend this place to all the foodies who eat vegan and also those who DO eat meat.

Gigi’s Cupcakes Menu with Prices 1791 Oconee Connector #745, Athens

I come to Gigiâ??s if Iâ??m ever craving something super decadent or if I want to bring a sweet gift to someone. The owners and workers have always been super nice to me. These cupcakes are not your typical ones. There is almost more icing than cake, which makes it very sweet and rich. They are very nicely presented and yummy, so Iâ??ll keep going back for more.
