Great experience! The workers were very nice and welcoming! Easy to talk to! I ordered the skinny chicken bowl. Added a few items to make it less skinny! Tortilla strips, avocado. A lemon vinaigrette was added to it. They also had a good spicy salsa mix to add to it. Took it home. It would definitely be a great place to eat at. Clean and upbeat environment! The bowl was really delicious! All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Loved the spicy kick it had. The vinaigrette made the bowl even better! You can customize your bowl however you want to have it. There are tons of options you can choose from! Great customer service! Delicious food! Great price! They deserved every star! Highly recommended!

REDWHITE Japanese Vegan – Menu with Prices – 294 Newbury St, Boston

Verdict: pretty delicious fast casual in a prime location fitting a niche of healthy / vegan food that isn’t currently served in the Back Bay area. 1 star- ambiance. It was pretty empty when we went around 6pm on a Friday evening but the interior was well lit and cutely decorated with brightly painted wall murals and tatami-mat-style seats. The music was all acoustic Miyazaki film scores which was fun. 1 star- taste. Excellent tasting bowls with really fresh ingredients. I will say the look of some of the “sauces” aren’t that appealing but they tasted great — the monk curry and the spicy both added real zest and kick to the veggies we got, and the green beans, tofu, mushrooms, etc. of our veggie toppings were all fresh. 0.5 star- value. At $13 per bowl with really no real hefty protein (some tofu), the price is a bit steep…but you are on Newbury St. I suppose. 1 star- service. The guy behind the counter took the time to explain how the menu worked and otherwise, the staff were courteous and quick. 0.5 star- innovation. Japanese food isn’t known for being super vegan-friendly — even the most veggie-heavy dishes are often topped with tobiko or bonito flakes — but I found the food here yummy and interesting enough. No flavor pairings that blew my mind, though.

Yummy Poke Pensacola, FL – Menu with Prices – 5046 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola

Order: Build your own poke bowl -Base: Sushi Rice -Protein: Spicy salmon (raw) and Ahi (raw) -Sides/Mix ins: spicy imitation crab, edamame, seaweed salad -Sauce: spicy lime ponzu and spicy mayo -Topping: fish eggs -Crunch: shredded nori Average price for a poke bowl (~$11 starting price) I had only the 2 scoop protein bowl and it was more than enough for myself! They don’t skimp on any items so it is very worth the price. (They put so much imitation crab, it was as much as another scoop of protein!). The fish was fresh and not “fishy” tasting. Only con I would say to the bowl I made is that the spicy salmon and spicy imitation crab were already very saucy, so when i added in spicy mayo it made my bowl TOO saucy. I would say either omit spicy mayo if you get any “spicy” proteins or to tell them to do a light drizzle. Overall, I would definitely go there again!

ISLAND FIN POKE – Menu with Prices – 41 Park Ave Ste 2, Worcester

I have never tried Poke before and went into this place with an open mind a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere of the place was very welcoming and clean. The staff were all amazing and provided excellent customer service. Each and every member had a smile on their face! I did a make your own bowl with double chicken and shrimp. I added a few of the assortment of toppings they had from edamame to pineapple-mango salsa. It was absolutely delicious. It was exactly how poke was described, basically a sushi roll but in a salad form! I was also recommended what sauce to put on it and she recommended the sweet but semi spicy one and it was the perfect match on the chicken and shrimp. After finishing my meal they brought over a sample of the two dole whips they were offering at that time. They always have pineapple and at the time were serving strawberry. It was also delicious! I highly highly recommend trying poke if you haven’t and if you’re in the area I highly recommend Island Fin!

Fresko Grille Modern Mediterranean – Menu with Prices – STOVEHOUSE, 3414 Governors Dr SW Suite 540, Huntsville

I’ve been waiting for this place to open and when it did, I excitedly tried it. I was not disappointed. It was delicious. I ordered a bowl with a brown rice and romaine lettuce base. I chose chicken as my protein and then added toppings: tabouli, tzatziki, tomatoes and cucumbers. I’ve gone twice so I’ve tried two different combos of dressing with this bowl. The garlic and ranch are great together, as is the ranch and vinaigrette. Lastly, I get a drizzle of olive oil on top. I ordered some pita bread to go with this meal. It was amazing. All the flavors go so well together and I love how you can customize your dish to be whatever you want it to be. My only issue is that I have to ask for extra dressing because they use very little. And they charge quite a bit more than the usual. Four 2oz dressings on the side (two bowls were ordered) were $7.80 before tax. That’s extremely high. Other than this one issue, I love this place. The restaurant was clean and is in a good location. I will definitely be going back and recommending it to others.

Balance Pan-Asian Grille – Menu with Prices – 215 N Summit St, Toledo

Background: Business traveler, mid-30s, solo. This is a neat pan-Asian fast casual place right in the downtown district of Toledo. The concept is simple. Order at the register, and your food is prepared behind a glass assembly line. I am deducting one star because the ability to customize (i.e. Moes) is simply missed. I had to rely on a cashier to explain the menu, rather than being able to pick and choose as I went down the line. Also, the bowl portion was incredibly tiny…I’m still hungry. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and the service was prompt. I would come back, but with the knowledge that a bowl is not a full meal here (unlike similar competitors in this space).

Northside Shack – Point Loma – Menu with Prices – 1255 Rosecrans St, San Diego

The hype was real. Its really rare for a 5 star place to meet the expectations but this place SURPASSED my expectations. We were visiting San Diego for 3 days and had heard about this place from a youtuber. This was our first stop before anything else and we HAD to end our trip with another acai bowl. 2 bowls in 3 days, low key regrets that we couldn’t do 3! Get ready for a mountain of fresh fruits and dry toppings because they hook you up! You choose your base (acai, pitaya, oatmeal, OR 50/50 acai/pitaya if you cant decide like me) and all the toppings of your choice. We got a large bowl with the 50/50, all the toppings, and added peanut butter. Ooh, PB was so worth it. If you’re not alone, I would highly recommend sharing a large bowl, so much bang for the buck ($11 for a HUGE bowl). The smaller bowls actually still had a similar fruit amount, still such a good value. The bases were so thick which I loved because by the time we were finally done with the huge bowl, it was still a good consistency. Other places have more smoothie like consistency from the beginning so by the time you finish, its lukewarm and too liquidy, Northside Shack definitely thought it through! My personal tips would be to use the lid as the fruit holder so you can enjoy the acai without worrying about a fruit avalanche haha. AND if you’re not in a rush, go enjoy the acai bowl at the Sunset Cliffs! It’s pretty close and the view is the cherry on the top! The freshness of ingredients is unreal. Please try it for yourself!!! Northside Shack has forever ruined my appetite for any other acai bowl… fingers crossed theyll come to the east coast!

Joy Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1455 Buckingham Rd, Richardson

A small and friendly hole-in-the-wall restaurant that is affordable and delicious! One of my favorite places to get homemade Korean dishes. The quantity and quality of food that you get for the price is completely unbelievable! A couple of dishes we’ve tried before are: – LA Galbi: this dish is generally pricey regardless of restaurant. At Joy Kitchen, the dish is $16, which is cheaper than most places that we’ve been to. In addition to the cheaper price, the quality of meat was amazing! They were thick, tender, and juicy! The restaurant also didn’t skimp out on the amount if meat either. The marinade is a bit on the sweeter side. However, the dish is still highly recommended! – Spicy Beef Soup: the soup was flavorful with just the right amount of spiciness. Again, the restaurant didn’t skimp out on the ingredients. Also highly recommended! Another great dish that is also a must try is their Osam (spicy stir fried squid and pork belly) (not pictured). The sauce has a perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and spiciness! Overall, this is a great and affordable restaurant to satisfy your Korean homemade food cravings!!

Tomo Poke Bowl – Menu with Prices – 10756 Hardin Valley Rd, Knoxville

So probably the best poke place you’ll have in Knoxville. Fresh ingredients, ample portion sizes, and fair price. What more do you want? I’ve gotten take twice in the last week it was so good. I usually go for the make your own bowl ($12) which comes with up to two types of protein and three toppings. The salmon and spicy tuna combo is great. They also have burdock root and pickled radish with are great options in addition to the usual of cucumbers, edamame, jalapeños, and other common veggies. I also really love their wasabi yuzu sauce as it really adds a slight citrusy kick. Although it is a little out of the way, when you have a car, nothing is really that far. The place is charming with seating area and large parking lot. Glad to finally find a poke place that gives me enough food for the price!

Casserole 2 Go – Menu with Prices – 1208 Laurel St, Columbia

I got a grilled chicken salad for lunch and two medium frozen casseroles for dinner. The salad was really good, ingredients were fresh. Chicken tasty with a homemade vinaigrette dressing…at least I think it’s homemade…didn’t ask. The eggplant parmigiana and sheppard’s pie were awesome! Hubby and kids absolutely loved them! Very flavorful and tasty. I just let the casserole thaw then popped in oven. Voila! A great tasting homemade meal without the work! Thanks Casserole 2 Go! I’ll definitely be back for more! ð??ð???

FreshFin Poké – Menu with Prices – 502 University Ave, Madison

After taking a workout class with my sister, we were really craving a healthy, fresh dish for lunch. Despite it being winter in WI and negative degrees outside, poke was calling our name. Normally, Miko Poke has been my poke place, but we wanted to try a new poke placed today (though, not exactly new as my sister and I have had FreshFin in Milwaukee before). Nonetheless, just like the location in Milwaukee, Madison’s FreshFin is a great place for poke. Clean, modern aesthetic. I love that their condiment bar has a selection of Furikake (Japanese Rice Seasoning) to choose from to add to your poke as desired. I had the Spicy Tuna Signature Bowl. My BF had the Coconut Curry Shrimp Signature Bowl and my sister had the Kailani Signature Bowl. All signature bowls are customizable, which I appreciated. Huge portion sizes (I could barely finish the regular size, was super full and probably would’ve been better off saving some as leftovers). Fresh ingredients. My Spicy Tuna bowl had a tad bit too many jalapeños for my taste, a bit overpowering for me given the delicate flavors of the tuna and all the other ingredients. Next time, I think I would either ask for less or no jalapeños and just rely on the siracha aioli for the spice factor. We also ordered the truffle crab salad, which sounded delicious, but honestly was a bit underwhelming. The ingredients were really fresh, but the flavors were lacking. This doesn’t factor into my rating, but this location is not super convenient for me as I don’t live downtown and it’s hard to find street parking. However, if I were ever in the area again and looking for a fresh, healthy meal, I would definitely keep FreshFin in mind!

Burning Rice – Menu with Prices – 2069 N Central Expy, Richardson

COME. EAT. HERE. NOW! So incredibly happy that my gf found this gem of a place by randomly perusing Yelp! We came out on a Sunday afternoon to try out the new spot which was a great experience. Upon entering the restaurant, you’ll notice that there’s a sign on the door for “BYOB”… what!? YES! Burning Rice allows its patrons to bring in their own wine or beer (no hard liquor). The young lady who was working the register was super accommodating. After we explained that it was our very first time visiting, she immediately told us not to worry and that she’d walk us through it. At Burning Rice, they prepare healthy meals that are fresh and made with locally sourced ingredients that are delivered daily. I’m down for that for sure. There are two types of bowls to choose from: the regular bowl or the hot stone bowl. GET THE HOT STONE BOWL. From there, you choose your type of rice. I mixed mine: Kimchi Rice (Spicy, Gluten Free) and Brown Rice (Gluten Free, Vegetarian). Then you choose your protein; I stuck with the spicy chicken while my friend went with the LA Galbi – Korean Short Rib (extra $3.00 I believe). From there, you get to choose AS MANY toppings as you’d like to add to your bowl. Choices include Spinach, Fish Cake, Zucchini, Kimchi, Bean Sprouts, Japchae Noodles, Mushrooms and Carrots. I got everything but the fish cake & mushrooms. Lastly, you add your egg and BAM! You’ve got the best thing coming! What I also enjoyed at Burning Rice was the complementary soup and salad bar. I had the miso soup… which would have been A1 had they added tofu to the soup. Everything in the restaurant was clean and organized. Even with how they rolled out your meal, everything was in order. It’s definitely worth a visit!

PIENEZZA Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3236 N John Young Pkwy, Kissimmee

Went on a date here with my fiancé. He had this place highly recommended by a friend so we went with hope for a good night. Fantastic pizza, so delicious. I had the grandma’s pie pizza. Worth it!! Flavorful and fresh. Totally hit the spot. Loved the service, felt so at home, great staff, I love the decor and they had Cuban jazz playing in the back, I seriously felt like I was in vacation somewhere tropical. And the cake!! Please try it. So good! Perfect way to close the night out. Fell more in love with my fiancé while here ð??? We left happier than we came! I am DEFINITELY returning and have highly recommended this place to our loved ones!! Can’t wait to return!
