I love our coffee shop for so many reasons…besides all the Starbucks drinks that are offered and the pastries and sandwiches, the best thing is that all the profit goes to World Missions which is currently touching the nations of Cuba, Jamaica, Africa, Honduras and China. It is also a great place to work quietly on your computer or to sit and enjoy your favorite drink with a friend.

World Cup Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 1740 NW Glisan St, Portland

I literally wake up every morning so excited to go get my usual vanilla latte with EXTRA whip cream here! I used to be a die hard Starbucks girl but once I started going here, I can’t go back to Starbucks! I order probably 3 or 4 of these vanilla lattes throughout the day seeing as I work with kids at the childcare center around the corner, and every time I go in to order my drink, all of the employees are so kind to me and we always have something to laugh about! One of the employees even named my favorite drink the “Vanilla Sky” because of the amount of vanilla I prefer to be added and the amount of whip cream I ask for! It’s SO delicious, I think I am addicted LOL! I also love to go here to sit and work on any paperwork I have to do, or to just enjoy my time, listen to a podcast, or read a book! World Cup is absolutely my favorite coffee shop in Portland!

MoonBean’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 6221 Santa Teresa Blvd, San Jose

Been coming here for a few years now. The coffee selection is awesome! From light, to medium, to dark roast, each type is split into 3 lists. My favorite is the Jamaica Blue coffee, which is NOT always in stock, but that somehow makes it even better. They only get one batch a year. Its 100% pure Jamaica Blue coffee beans which is, you guessed it, straight from Jamaica! “Right near the beach!” (Sorry, had to say it). Tip: If you don’t know what coffee to try, ask the baristas to help you decide. They’re super knowledgeable of their product and also great conversationalists. There is a handful of small tables in the front and toward the back, but my personal favorite spot to sip on my cup-a-Joe, is on the couch. Give this place a try. Seriously, come check out this chill coffee shop and find out for yourself. You’re treated like family here and that’s what it’s all about.

The Kind Bean – Menu with Prices – 1020 E Pecos Rd #7, Chandler

Kind Bean is one of my favorite places to get coffee and pastries! The caramel macchiato has an amazing and unique taste, way better than any chain like Starbucks or Dunkin’. Also, the botanical infusions are not only sugar free and caffeine free, but they are so refreshing; the strawberry lemon and fuzzy peach are my favorites. I can’t even describe their pastries, they are out of this world! They have the best cinnamon rolls and scones that I have ever had. If you go on a day where they serve banana muffins, get them! You will not regret it! Also make sure you follow @thekindbean on Instagram because they post the pastries that were made that day because you will not want to miss when your favorite pastries are in shop! Not just the food and drinks at Kind Bean are fantastic but the overall environment is just as fantastic. The service there is top notch. Every time I walk in, I get greeted by each of the workers and the fact that they remember my name shows that they all care about their customers. They always come around to check how the food and drinks are to make sure that we like them. Kind Bean is always my go to place to do any work on the computer or to simply catch up with a friend. Kind Bean is the perfect name for this coffee shop because every single person there is kind. I have never experienced better service at any other place than Kind Bean. I highly recommend Kind Bean because the food, drinks, and service are all out of this world!!

Med Ed Cafe – Menu with Prices – 836 Health Sciences Rd, Irvine

This little cafe is located at the school of medicine in front of the Medical Education Building. Perfect for students, staff, and physicians in the area for a quick snack and a caffeine fix. Starbucks coffee with Starbucks prices, but on occasion you get little drink samples of the new drink or drink of the day! There’s also a variety of snacks to pick up here from chips, veggies, hummus, yogurt to breakfast selections like bagels, donuts, breakfast sandwiches to quick lunch options such as sushi and sandwiches. The lunch items are all similar to what is sold on main campus. Student’s work this cafe and are always friendly and serve your drinks with a smile. There’s also outdoor seating to enjoy your coffee and the cafe itself is cute and clean. A great place to meet someone for a meeting for a study session. Remember to bring your own cup for $0.10 off your drink!

Balanced Brew Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4217 N McColl Rd #1200, McAllen

I tried this place on a whim because I saw it while driving. I’m quite glad that I did. In a lot of ways I like this place better than Starbucks. The drinks are really a experience, quite delicious. The pices are about the same if a little lower on a couple of items. Also the best part was the fact that when I went again I ordered a medium iced drink and it was the size of Starbucks venti. All in all this is my new favorite shop for coffee and iced drinks. Because they are nice and have a good size price ratio; but more importantly the dinks they make are something to be savored and every sip is a glimpse into the meaning of Joy.

China GRILL – Menu with Prices – 1608 E Market St, Greensboro

I enjoy China Grill! The food is delicious, great proportions. The meat is tender and veggies fresh. They can get busy so they are not much for chatting. The menu is diverse and the facility clean and well kept. The public bathrooms are the nicest I have seen. I am impressed with China Grill. I normally eat the mei fun and the chicken with mushroom and some egg or shrimp rolls. The egg and shrimp rolls are well made and are not dripping in grease when you get them! I enjoy this place and recommend it to anyone who wants excellent Chinese cuisine!

Arlington Highlands Menu with Prices I-20 & Matlock Road, Arlington

This is one of my favorite places in Arlington to walk around, shop, eat, grab a drink, etc. There’s a really nice Starbucks, too, where students can sit, have a coffee, study, and enjoy the scenery. I do wish they had more kid friendly places/businesses. Maybe an interactive playhouse, indoor playground, or something that children would enjoy. Only reason I won’t give it that fifth star.

All in house repairs are performed by owner Dave Arnold, who has been in the computer business since the 1960s, and his expertise goes into every repair. Sip Honolulu – Menu with Prices – 500 Ala Moana Blvd Unit 4D, Honolulu

This place is so amazing, I decided to apply to work here, even though I have 3 other jobs. Try everything, because they’re constantly innovating & incorporating new items everyday. The owner is an absolute genius & the crew always seem genuine in their service! My favorite drink is the Iced Ube Latte! The ube sauce is made in-house & the espresso is the bomb! Better than Starbucks & any commercial place you’re gonna go to. If you want something authentic, go to Sip! I’m extremely biased, but I mean it! Thank you Sip for helping me enjoy coffee again!

Toad In The Hole Pub – Menu with Prices – 112 Osborne St, Winnipeg

I realize that this was an afternoon which would be normally very slow time that we got in was probably about 5:15pm on a Sunday. The server was a not available as we walked in so we seated ourselves, normally that would be OK as it’s a pub. Then I went looking for them to get a menu. They were busy playing with the music selection. I asked for a couple of menus, and all she could find was one at the moment. Then later when we win we’re ready to order she took our drink order. But got them mixed up. The Seiter tank was apparently not working well so it came out really really fall me, and she served it to us anyways, and couldn’t replace the exact same drink. She offered a different drink different type of cider, and when she brought that drink it apparently had a quarter in the bottom of the cup , before she put in the ice. And then we got our drinks sort it out. We waited for a little bit. And then we noticed that she’s having some difficulties with the order. So she invited a friend possibly somebody who works there but currently was not working, to come over and sort out our food order. Then when she brought us the food it was still confusing because she gave the orders to the wrong person. There were only 2 of us. Later when we went to pay I showed her the quarter in the bottom of the glass she did apologize and offered us shots as replacement. As we were heading out the door I didn’t have time nor felt like having a shot but no other offer for compensation was made, such as not paying for the drink that had the quarter in it. The other server, the friend, was outside at the time having drinks with her boyfriend or friend. So all in all it was kind of an awkward experience I wouldn’t recommend going there in the afternoon unless your expectations are really low. Then it would be absolutely fine.

Sabor Miami Cafe and Gallery – Menu with Prices – 4848 Broadview Rd, Cleveland

I truly love Latin culture and food. Having lived in Mexico for a few years and visited Cuba multiple times, I occasionally find myself REALLY craving not just Latin food but the Latin atmosphere associated with eating; it’s so much more than just eating. Enter Sabor. Dining at Sabor is like Mariela inviting you into her home, offering you a seat in her front room while she scoots off into the kitchen to prepare a meal just for you: her honored guest. The moment I walked in I felt like I was visiting friends in Cuba! This is not restaurant food. This is…love. I devoured the Miami Tropi-Chop with chicken. I didn’t bother taking pictures because 1) I saw there were plenty of photos on Yelp already and 2) I got lost in the experience. This wasn’t just a good meal, it was good for my soul. I didn’t even touch my phone while sipping on my cafe con leche and shoveling this delicious food into my mouth. If you decide to grab a meal at Sabor, keep in mind that it really is like going to a friend’s house. Mariela puts her heart and soul into making a great meal just for you so be patient, be in the moment, and enjoy! I promise you, you are in for a treat.

Nevzat’s Espresso – Menu with Prices – 12602 Renton Ave S, Seattle

We moved to Skyway and immediately wanted to find a coffee place nearby. A neighbor suggested we go to Nevzat espresso as he was close by AND a member of the local community. We decided to check it out and I am glad we did! PROS: * Nevzat is SUPER friendly! After just a few visits he remember our names and drink orders! * The coffee is very tasty and much better priced than Starbucks. * Great selection of drinks on their menu an also will do customs! * Punch card loyalty program to reward return customers. CONS: * I am used to my coffee being VERY hot and have come to like it that way. You know, so hot it takes 10 minutes before you can take a full drink? My coffee was coming out at the perfect temperature to drink right away but that was too cold for me. I mentioned this to him and ever since then he gives me my drinks much hotter. SO started off a CON, but he fixed it! CONCLUSION: We are now LOYAL customers and go back several times a week. We prefer his coffee to Starbucks and are always sad when we are out of town and forced to go elsewhere!
