Love this little shake shop! The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. Everything I’ve tried so far tastes amazing. They have a large variety and everything you need from pre-workout, post-workout and everything in between. I’m typically a really shy person so I was hesitant to go in because I don’t like it when people pressure me into buying things I don’t want but this was not the case here. They we very welcoming and did not make me feel pressured at all. It’s right down the street from my work so i will definitely be going back! They have coffee also if you’re looking to trade you’re Starbucks habit for a more healthy option you should check them out!

Starbucks Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2191 Winchester Rd NE B, Huntsville

This is a new Starbucks. I did not know it was there until driving by and I was thinking about finding the nearest Starbucks. It is convenient for shoppers in the area as it is directly in front of Wal-Mart and across the street from Publix.â?? There were a number of cars in the drive-thru, as is often the case at a Starbucks. We went inside and ordered an eggnogâ?? latte and a blueberry scone. The coffee was perfect. The scone was fresh and available to be served hotâ??. It “hit the spot” for a morning snack and a late lunch coming up later. There is an interesting wall decoration in the seating area. I had not seen a jungle scene in a Starbucks previously. There is considerable seating in the store. As it is new, the latest design for Starbucks was used. There is a long table with room for a number of people to sit as well as more comfortable seats with small tables against the wall. If you like Starbucks, this will be a good location to try.

Scooter’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 5 Old 63 S, Columbia

I usually go to Starbucks on Broadway which I hate becausr ya know so i made a point to go to scooters. I asked for a medium mocha, the drive thru girl asked if i wanted that hot or cold. In my head i remember thinking why do they even ask that when it’s -15 °F and told her hot. When i got to the window they handed me a cold mocha, which looked great but not what i asked for. Usually I would live with the mistake cause i HATE making service industry people do more work that necessary (im a waitress) but i decided I would be unhappy if i didnt voice the error because just to clarify, I really wanted a hot mocha. I say it in the nicest, shyest, we all make mistakes sorta way as to make sure she didnt get upset or annoyed. The drive thru window girl then proceeded to disagree with me I said cold, almost argue…which was just awkward and i tried to give the mocha back that i hadnt even pulled through my window and she refused which i understand for health code but i wasn’t trying to get a cold mocha so it makes sense I would try to give it back. Scooters then does remake the hot mocha, but they had the manager give it to me and nobody said youre welcome when i said thank you or sorry, just “yup”. Pretty rude and i wouldn’t go back because the Starbucks on Broadway weirdly goes out of their way to be extra friendly and accomodating. And the prices are the same but they arent rude, EVER and i consider this starbucks super superior to any ive been to. Scooters made their own coffee taste bad to me, bad enough to leave this review. And with Starbucks right their, a giant competitor, I would have thought harder about how to treat customers in that manner. Won’t be going back! Hope they dont make you feel like human trash for telling them of their own mistakes in the nicest way possible!

Compass Coffee – Menu with Prices – 142-82 Rockaway Blvd, Jamaica

Went in for a cup of coffee and to use the bathroom and ended up buying some sweets. This place is definitely Jamaica’s hidden gem. As soon as you walk in the door, the staff welcomes you. The space is extremely well kept and clean (which is especially appreciated if anyone else has seen a refrigerated display case in any coffee shop/deli/diner). The coffee was delicious and had the price of a coffee from 7-11. The bread pudding was honestly the best I’ve ever had (sorry grandma). The walnuts were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Don’t get me started on the macaroons, amazing. I wish I lived closer and didn’t wander in by chance. Their pricing is better than Starbucks and their sizes and portions are better and taste extraordinary.

Peregrine Espresso – Menu with Prices – 1718 14th St NW, Washington

I work a block away at another small business on 14th street which makes writing this review all the more sad. I want to love this place. It would make getting coffee during work hours so convenient and easy. I’ve tried getting coffee here so many times and have been extremely disappointed every time. The team at peregrine needs to learn how to deep clean the coffee and espresso machines- the taste of poorly maintained equipment is so distinct. Additionally, there is an equally distinct burnt taste – I’m not sure if the temperature settings are too high or if the problem is the fault of the roaster of the beans. In any case, save your money and walk a couple blocks in either direction – the wydown to the north or compass coffee to the south are much better options. Heck Starbucks is a better option. That being said, the baked goods are phenomenal. If only the coffee were palatable. â?

Foster Street Coffee – Menu with Prices – 530 Foster St #2, Durham

I visited Foster Street Coffee a couple of times, during lunch time. When you walk in, the coffee shop is open and welcoming. The coffee bar is a few steps away from the door and each time, a smiling barista was waiting to take my order. The coffee shop is bigger than what it looks like from the street. Inside are cozy tables up front of the large window overlooking the street and then a few oversized armchairs that looked very soft (haven’t tested them out yet!) A little further back were some longer tables that looked like they were good for working on the laptop and sipping on your coffee. There was also a conference room with a large table and a TV for more organized meetings. I was impressed because this coffee shop could be a very convenient place to meet at if your organization is located in Downtown Durham. The menu board is simple, clean and elegant. They carry everything you’d expect from a coffee shop. I decided to try a coffee frappe, which is ice cream, coffee and vanilla. It wasn’t overly sweet at all. The coffee flavor came through strong, so it’s not quite like a milkshake. Maybe not good for a kid. It was tasty and I finished it all easily. I think I’ll experiment with the syrup flavors in the future. For my second visit, I tried a vanilla chai latte. I must admit that Starbucks is my standard for a vanilla chai latte. I find they have the best taste to me. I’ve tried a lot vanilla chais in other coffee shops and they never quite compare to Starbucks. But Foster Street surprised me. Their vanilla chai was light but sweet, creamy, slightly spicy and the froth on top was perfect. There was a lot of it. I was impressed with the first sip. It’s just as good as Starbucks chai, for sure. I will definitely make that drink a staple for next time I visit Foster. Each time, the barista brought the drink out directly to me and I thought that was so sweet. I’m happy to have a great local coffee shop in the area.

The Kidd Coffee Co. – Menu with Prices – 4257, 301 E 4th St ste 425, Cincinnati

Kidd Coffee was just OK. Admittedly I’m not a coffee addict, but I do like a cuppa something hot, sweet, creamy and slightly coffee-accented. And I don’t mind paying $4 for a cup as an occasional splurge, and I especially don’t mind contributing to a Starbucks competitor in the completely vain hope that competition will help check-and-balance Starbucks’ prices. I impulse bought a small Milky Way specialty coffee from the Kidd Coffee stand on a particularly blustery day. It was meeeehhhh, and the same price as a Starbucks beverage. There was nothing special or distinct or even that yummy about the flavor or presentation that made the calories worthwhile. If you would have told me that it was a caramel macchiato, vanilla latte, mocha blahblah or white chocolate mocha I would have believed it because it just didn’t have any memorable taste. I like the mixed coffee drinks at McDonald’s or Dunkin’ far better.

ColdPress Express – Menu with Prices – 2010 Festival Plaza Dr, Las Vegas

Wow. ColdPress Express = GAME CHANGER. Let’s get this straight…I am not a “juice” person. I usually feel like juices are hiding a ton of sugar, and I don’t feel it’s a healthy habit to get into to absorb all your daily nutrients. BUT, there’s a big BUT here… ColdPress Express is different. You notice it from the moment you are greeted, and that continues as you are treated by staff with care, and knowledge on ingredients. There is a lack of facades here. You know what you are getting in every way; and you also are in full control of what you want to receive. Wide selection of juice options, with the ability to manage your own nutrients – desired sugars. I love this place, and also can’t forget to mention their quick bites!!! Healthy bomb bowls, and great unique toasts. They also have the best avocado toast in town (truth). And a really delicious espresso bean (makes great americanos)- cool machine that is worth a trip in to check out. Love to see SkinnyFATS expand their concepts, and look forward to my many visits in this 2019!!

Capital One Café – Menu with Prices – 801 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

I thought this was a weird concept at first, like having a coffee in a financial corporation doesn’t strike me as relaxing. But, it was on our way so hubby and I decided to check it out. We were immediately greeted with a coffee bar and a super friendly staff. Shout out to Jose, who is a banker there, and really a pleasure. He gave us a little tour and told us what the place is all about. He showed us the meeting rooms which are available to the public and even offered to treat us to a coffee. He wasn’t trying to sell us anything- he was just a really cool guy who obviously enjoys his work and brings a lot of positive vibes to the company. We chatted with him for a bit and he invited us to take our time and lounge. Everything is brand new, open and just like a coffee shop but with some CO bankers available in the back. It’s a minimalist vibe with charging stations and ample seating. If I had to meet someone for a business purpose, I would definitely choose this over Starbucks. If you have a CO card, you get half off drink orders as well. Oh and the coffee is good too; they’ve partnered with Peet’s. My husband is a coffee fanatic and complimented their espresso. So if you want to come in and work on your laptop and have a coffee, there’s no pressure or expectation to open a Capital One account. And it’s definitely a plus for those who want to also take care of their banking needs.

Hummus Republic – Menu with Prices – 40820 Winchester Rd # Fc6, Temecula

What the falafel!? A healthy option at the Promenade?? That was my reaction when I saw this gem of a restaurant while strolling through the mall. I decided, “hey, why not give it a try”. I decided to order two bowls and can only review the falafel one cause that’s the one ate. I had the lady serving me my food recommend whatever was the most popular toppings and she helped me choose what to put in my bowl. Both people behind the counter were very helpful, and very welcoming given the fact that I was a new customer. The food came with a piece of pita bread which was warm and delicious. Now came the taste test. I had tzaziki, regular hummus and eggplant hummus. The hummus definitely added flavor to the bowl and helped moisten up some of the other dryer items. The falafel itself is what disappointed me because it was very dry and didn’t have enough spices that I was used to. They gave me a good amount of it but it was just hard to eat without having water in hand for every bite. Overall I believe this place will do great because it’s a healthy option in a sea of fried food stands. I will try this place again, probably with a different meat option.

Hibachi Tecan – Menu with Prices – 3964 Jackson Ave, Memphis

In The Loop Coffee Co. – Menu with Prices – 708 N 1st St, Minneapolis

I really wanted to like this place since it’s very cute and close to my apartment but all three times I have gone in I have had problems that the staff was always not very accommodating or welcoming. Once they made me the wrong coffee and told me after I had had some to drink and said “We can make it again if you want”. I felt quite guilty wasting coffee so of course said no. Maybe offering me a pastry or something might have been a nice touch? The second time, the employee spent most of her time at the table next to me talking to a friend… I guess that’s ok with me but seemed very unprofessional. The third time I was told quite abruptly I was mistaken and they did not have coconut milk when I asked for it. When they said they had oat milk, I said I would love that. I was told no, we don’t have that and it’s not our fault. It’s our supplier. I would say it is their fault as Whole Foods is just down the street. ? But not important. I will walk the extra blocks to Starbucks. The sandwich I had was average and the coffee was the same.

Bootstrap Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 432 Wabasha St S, St Paul

I was in the area to visit someone who has a studio close by and who I told I would bring coffee to. So some google and yelp searching lead me to this and I recognized them from seeing their coffee at my co-op. Yay for this being THE BEST OPTION in the area (Holiday and Starbucks were the other options that came up)! And yay for it being good! The service here was friendly and kind and welcoming. Everyone said ‘Hi’ and meant it in a ‘thank you for coming’ way. The coffee was good quality and I enjoyed it. The pastries were good, surprisingly so. I took everything to go, but the atmosphere was nice and I liked the roasting action going on in the space. I am completely not familiar with this area, but it turns out my husband bikes through here frequently and had been telling me recently about this exact area he biked through being about ‘ready to take off’. I’ll say… This little corner seems like it was once great for some businesses many years ago and that it could be on the verge of it again. I would definitely come back here and suggest if you live or work close by, frequenting the place. NE Mpls could use a dose of Bootstrap (hint hint).
