This has to be one of the best, if not the best Thai food I have had in Orange County so far and is on point with the quality and flavor you would experience in Thai Town. In a strip mall with a main attraction being Burlington Coat Factory lies this hidden gem of a restaurant. The menu had over 100 items with pictures of each food item. Although the menu might disturb Gordon Ramsay, my dining partner and I were thrilled to be able to see all the yummy food and went on to purchase a whopping 6 items – and all of them were on point and good. We had: Papaya Salad w/ Dried Shrimp – They offer a variety of papaya salads here with different proteins, so you can pick and choose what you want. They also will cater the spice to your taste. Note: Things will sway toward spicy, so if you’re not a fan of spice, you might want to go the mild to no spice route as much as possible. We opted for medium and it was spicy in a good way! The flavors of lime, chilli and garlic complimented the crunchy, perfectly julienned papaya, while the dried shrimps added a bit of extra flavor and texture to the salad. We knew with this so nicely executed, the rest of the dishes were also going to be great. Nam Kao Tod – I was actually looking for Lao Sausage in the appetizer section when I came across this and ordered this instead. Note: For those searching for the sausage, there is #90 Sai Oar in the Specials section). I love the flavor of this because it’s such an explosion of garlic, lime, vinegar, ginger and peanuts all in one. It’s great wrapped up in cabbage or lettuce or mixed up with rice. Combination Pad Thai – Nicely executed – not on the super sweet or super saucy side. Noodles were al dente, and nothing tasted overpowering. I don’t prefer Pad Thai to taste like candy – and this had a great balance of sweet without being overwhelmingly so. Pineapple Chicken Curry – This was nicely executed. The pineapples created another profile in the curry, and it had a nice slight spice to it. I recommend this if you’re a fan of curry! Basil Beef – This is a standard dish we seem to always order when we eat Thai food and is another standard by which we judge Thai restaurants (the others being Papaya Salad and Pad Thai) and this did not disappoint! The slices of meat were a bit thicker, and seemed to be better quality, and there was a lot of basil flavor. The spice level was not too much due to the veggies, which added a bit of sweetness to the flavor of the beef and sauce. Another well executed dish. Lastly we finished our meal with Mango Sticky Rice – so, so good. I could have eaten it all in one sitting, it was so good! This is definitely going to be my go to Thai place moving forward. If you’re in the area and are on the lookout for authentic Thai food, give this Princess Thai a try!

N-zone Uptown – Menu with Prices – 1707 Telegraph Ave, Oakland

An elevated Lao fusion cuisine. If you like spicy, sweet with a little tang, they got exactly what you want. The Oaktown-grown owner knows exactly the right balance for the traditional Lao taste on some of the people’s favorite dishes. This house ain’t for them with a weak stomach. If you accidentally took a Lao-food virgin here, go with the fusion dishes like crispy papaya salad, garlic noodle, or the green chicken curry. For those who are blessed with the palate that can appreciate spicy food and the ability to distinguish Asian cuisines. Blessed be your tongue cuz you are in treat! Here are a must (to order): House-blend Lao sausage. If you love your bacon, this pork sausage tastes like if the pig had gone to the temple and redeemed themselves. The sausage tastes like a bacon’s rebirth. It is refreshing with some nice caramelized crisp on the outside and tender meat blend with spices that speak Southeast Asian all over it. Let’s just say that if I made sausage this good, my mama, nana and the aunties would be so proud. L’ chicken. Chicken wings will kick you in the mouth like nobody’s business. Crispy and with some thick sauce. It is strong! It would be the chicken wings that went through some tough sh*t and rose above. It took me a second bite in the middle of my meal (well past the appetizers) to truly understand and appreciate it. Green chicken curry. It was Insta-worthy, but how did it taste? It tasted like the Thai/Cambodian green curry that went to a Korean spa before it clocked in. It was tasty and I wasn’t mad at it. Savory, tender, but each ingredient didn’t lose its natural flavors. Papaya Salad. Coming here, I thought I knew what Thai and Lao papaya salads are. The crispy papaya salad is most definitely the American-born Laotian papaya salad. It’s like when you think you know English, then you go to New Jersey and they be talking like in Jersey Shore. It’s definitely like the California-style papaya salad minus the avocado (please don’t add avocado, like ever lol). Maybe almost like Lao meets South. They’re crispy brown and reminded me of the potato shoestrings. P.S. when in doubt, order a stout.

Ginger Thai – Menu with Prices – 27110 Cinco Ranch Blvd #1100, Katy

Decided we wanted Thai tonight and did not want to go to the usual place we almost always go to for Pad Thai. Small restaurant in a small strip mall on Cinco Ranch Boulevard. Very clean and organized. We were greeted by a young man who turned out to be our server. He was very friendly and polite. Very helpful too. We decided to get the green papaya salad. A spicy dish with green papaya shredded with carrots, peanuts, daikon, tomatoes and spices. All of the ingredients finely sliced. It was delicious. $9.95 for a large enough portion for 2 people to share. Although the menu was extensive with Thai dishes and Sushi we opted to try their version of Pad Thai. My wife ordered the chicken in a non spicy version. Her dish was $11.99. She loved it. Another huge portion. She loved how fresh all of the ingredients seemed to be. I had the shrimp Pad Thai $13.99. I ordered it by their heat scale of 2 out of three peppers. It was spicy but not overly spicy. Mine too tasted very fresh. It had 8 large grilled shrimp. Just wish they had taken the tails off before cooking or serving the dish. My wife had jasmine hot tea with her meal. $2.50. I had the iced Thai tea. $3.25. I have never had this particular drink before and probably will not ever have it again. It was way too sweet for my taste, plus had a kind of clove finish that I did not care for either. Just not my cup of tea I guess. Overall we had a very nice dining experience and will certainly return when the mood for Thai food strikes us again. Happy we found this place so close to home.

Thai origin Menu with Prices 4686 Broadway, Allentown

Excellent Thai food. I have eaten at more than a hundred Thai restaurants and this is one of the best ones. Plus, they were fast and our server (who is part owner) was very hospitable. We had the following: Papaya salad: very nicely presented wrapped in lettuce and garnished with an orchid. Liberal amount of whole peanuts. Red snapper with kaffir lime and chili sauce: the fish was just right, not overly fried nor too fishy raw. There were plenty of veggies. Creamy tomyum soup – the shrimps we added were enormous and had a delightful snap as you chewed (read: not overly cooked rubber). Tasty with coconut. Green curry – excellent. The tofu was steamed to a nice consistency. Pad Thai – served with sprouts and crushed peanuts on the side . Flavorful with a little sweetness. We got the dishes spicy. All dishes were 5/5. Portions were generous and we had leftovers even after four at the table. We will be back soon. They are also open on Sunday’s and I’m looking forward to that as well ?

Funky Elephant Menu with Prices 1313 Ninth St, Berkeley

Tried out a new Thai place in Berkeley! It was definitely a funky place with interesting decor and outside tables, but a little tight and small inside. Nice little outdoor area right next to Philz Coffee. Green Papaya Salad ($12) – Spicy!!! Default they put in 3 chilis and we put in just 1 chili and it was definitely spicy. At one point the spices came up my nose LOL. Couldn’t really differentiate the chili from the peanuts. It had a lot of flavor but it would’ve been better if the Papaya was colder(?). It might’ve made the salad more fresh. Grilled Beef Short Ribs ($18) – Good. I thought it came with rice (other yelp pictures), but came with no rice. Ordered jasmine rice ($2) and it was blue, which was pretty interesting. Again, a lot of flavor going on. Pad Thai Old Skool ($15) – Lots of sauce and flavor overall. Good pad Thai but not the best I ever had. Size is definitely on the smaller side. Ask for chili on the side or no chili if you don’t like spicy. It seems really spicy. Soft Serve Ice Cream Thai Tea ($6) – Nice! It’s not super milky and reminds me of the chick fil a soft serve texture (?). Nice light Thai tea flavor. Overall, had a nice experience! Apparently, this place is super authentic and they do things spicy (overheard the waiter explaining to another table – service was good but could’ve been better if they explained about their restaurant and food to us too. I had no idea it was supposed to be spicy!). The flavors were pretty crazy, but I think overall there was just too much flavor going on that it was kinda overwhelming. There wasn’t anything simple to cleanse my palate. I’m not Thai, so I guess I’m not used to all the flavors, but usually at other Thai places, I don’t walk away feeling overwhelmed. I might need a juice cleanse lol. I wouldn’t really recommend to my family/friends just because we have similar tastes, but would recommend to anyone who wants to try authentic Thai food with lots of FLAVOR and lots of spice!

Urban Thai Restaurant Menu with Prices 561 23rd St S, Arlington

Love this place. I really enjoyed my meal. Great food. Friendly staffs. Foods were on point especially papaya salad tray or “Som Tum Tart”. Very authentic Thai food in Arlington area. If you love Thai food, this restaurant is one of the best I recommend if you don’t have a chance to try and you won’t regret. Update: Food and service are still excellent as always!! One of my best top 3 Thai restaurant. The food tastes like real Thai food back in Thailand especially E-Sarn (northeastern part of Thailand) food. Recommend anyone who interested for Thai-taste food to this place. Update another dish. Boat noodle soup with pork. Hard to not fall in love with this dish after I tried it. Not every Thai restaurants have this dish. If you are noodles lover, this dish is a mus Update two more dishes. Spaghetti drunken noodles seafood. For anyone who loves spicy this one hits the spot but if you are afraid that it would be too hot, I think you can tell staffs there to tone it down to your liking. Next one is Pad Thai shrimp that my girlfriend had. I normally love spicy food but this pad thai was quite good even though it kinda look too plain to me but nonetheless just simply great. I’ll look forward to come back to try something else again.

Tom Yum Thai Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 859 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg

There aren’t a lot of restaurants near HSC hospital but this at the corner of William and Sherbrook is pretty decent for Thai food. Their spice level is serious so if you choose 7 or higher it is spicy! I had 8 once and it was pretty spicy – the kind that’s still good but you’re getting a runny nose and drinking lots of water and I have a decent heat tolerance. I’ll go with 6 and it’s just right. There’s a lunch time buffet but it doesn’t appeal to me so I usually share a few dishes with friends. The green curry, red curry, panang curry and pad thai are all decent. They all average about $10 per dish when you select chicken or beef. Service is fast and efficient.

Tasty Thai Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1515 S Byrne Rd, Toledo

I was in town visiting a friend and we decided to enjoy some Thai for lunch. This place was not busy at all on a Friday around noon. I think maybe 1-2 people showed up while we were enjoying our meals. We looked over the menu and I decided on green seafood curry made Thai spicy. The menu is quite huge and tons of options to choose from which was a pleasant surprise. I think anyone would be able to eat her to satisfy their Thai cravings. The service was quite fast which was nice. My meal on my spice scale was more of 2-3 out of a 5. However, if you look at my past review of other Thai places around the world you will see my spice palate is crazy. It takes a lot for me to think anything is spicy. I enjoyed the variety and the amount of seafood in my curry.Overall a decent spot in Toledo for Thai food. Enjoy!

House of Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 4582 Cumberland Rd, Fayetteville

6/25/2019: I had to update my review because House of Thai more than deserves the fifth star. Their food is just so dang good. I’ve tried a few other Thai places in Fayetteville over the last few days and nowhere held a candle to House of Thai. This time I ordered the Tom Kha medium spice and the Drunken Noodles hot spice. And holy wow!! I am food drunk right now this was so good. The curry the other day was definitely delicious, but I think it was maybe just a little too busy last Friday for them to be able to really put the magic into their cooking that I was lucky enough to receive today. 6/21/2019: I am personally a Thai fanatic. And I’d definitely come back to this place. That being said, it was by no means the best Thai I’ve ever had, but it was by no means anywhere close to the worst. I’m giving four stars because the service was good, the food came fast, fresh, and hot, and the spice level was fair. Overall, my expectations of Fayetteville Thai, at a restaurant with few reviews have been exceeded. I ordered the green curry with chicken with medium spice. Sometimes I order medium spice at other restaurants and it’s like they forgot to even salt the food it lacks so much spice. But the spice level here was really good. I love spicy food, and after eating a bit my nose started to run and I had that little bit of tinlge on my lips. The curry itself was pretty standard. It wasn’t anything exceptional, but I would definitely eat it again. Overall, I would recommend House of Thai to my friends.

Siam Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 915 Hillcrest Rd Suite C, Mobile

Food was alright, however, I asked my server which of their curries was the hottest (red curry, could’ve fooled me) and requested “five star” spice level on said item which is supposed to be as spicy as they offer. I received the mildest curry I have ever eaten in my life; my grandmother would probably have loved it but I went to a Thai restaurant specifically for something very spicy. It did not taste right to have such a pathetically mild curry. I informed my waitress and she provided me with a particularly mild crock of red pepper flakes to add my meal which I very clearly desired to be very hot before hand. I got somewhat close to the desired level of heat I ordered but the texture of my curry was ruined by the 6 spoonfulls of red pepper flakes I had to add. Regardless of the friendly service and atmosphere, I highly doubt I’ll return. If you are someone who like spicy Thai food, look elsewhere; I was sorely disappointed.

Basil n’ Spice Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 299 Shrewsbury St, Worcester

We heard Basil n Spice was the best Thai in Worcester. We beg to differ. We had open minds and high expectations but we were unfortunately disappointed. The place was dreary and empty, and the decor looked cheap and tacky. Being the only patrons in the restaurant, it wasn’t hard to hear our server being reprimanded by the boss throughout our meal. Started off with a tofu thom yum soup. The best course of the meal. I love thom yum soup. We ordered the shrimp papaya salad and seafood madness. Shrimp papaya salad was really bad. Two chewy shrimps and no papaya? The seafood madness, now that’s another story. It was the worst seafood madness I’ve ever had, but to be fair I usually only order seafood madness when I presume the restaurant is high quality. The portion was tiny. The dish came out hot but the seafood was underwhelming and gray. Not to mention it wasn’t spicy at all. The mussels were cold, and funky from the start. I only ate one of the three because a little crab crawled out of the mussel! To be clear, the little guy was not on the menu. At the end of the day, I’m fed. Would I go back? Not a chance.

Big Mama Chims Noodle House – Menu with Prices – 905 Alley A, Columbia

This is very authentic! Truly a hidden gem. As a New Yorker, I was surprised that we were able to get such great (Northern) Thai food in Columbia, MO. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with sticky rice on the side ($2.50 for the sticky rice, but it well worth it), and my friends ordered green curry chicken rice and Pad Thai. They were all very satisfied! I also love the fact that they have the ‘spice caddy’ for every table, which includes peanuts, Thai dry chili flakes and spicy sour sauce. The Thai tea was on the sweet side and they mixed it with half and half instead of the traditional condensed milk. When the server takes your order, you’ll be asked to indicate the spicy level you’d like to have in your food, on a scale of 3 to 10: 3 being the least spicy and 10 being the most spicy. I chose 6.5 because I was told by my friend (who loves spicy food) says that 7 was pretty hot. I love my Tom Kha – it was just the right amount of spiciness and the right amount of food. The coconut milk that is part of the Tom Kha really added a great complexity to the dish. A must-try!

Bambuza Pearl District – Menu with Prices – 100 NW 10th Ave #3107, Portland

My Girl and I were in Portland on holiday and stopped in on a whim at lunchtime on Monday. We ordered several items to share: Yellow Curry with shrimp Green Papaya Salad with shrimp Bambuza salad rolls with shrimp Crispy Spring rolls First the presentation was nice and the wait staff brought our food out fairly quickly. I know reading other reviews that wasn’t what we had read. They also brought us plates to share our dishes. This is not a full service restaurant you order then sit and they bring you your food. So for the food: The green papaya salad was good and refreshing however the shrimp on top was bland and not an addition I would recommend. The crispy spring rolls were very good and the sauce compliments them well. The Bambuza roll was good but had a very strong taste of herbs which make it taste fresh but the mint slightly overpowers the dish. The peanut sauce does compliment and tame the mint some. The shrimp in the Bambuza rolls were also bland. The yellow curry, of all the dishes I eat this the most frequently, was okay. The vegetable didn’t gain the flavor of the curry the way I prefer but it wasn’t a poorly composed dish either. The shrimp again was bland. The rice with the curry was well cooked. I wouldn’t stop anyone from coming here but I can say that it isn’t on the level of other places I frequently go.
