You know the good ol’ saying of “a diamond in the rough”…this is definitely a diamond. From the looks of it it’s your typical mom and pop pizza place, but don’t judge the book by it’s cover. Value pizza is not only family owned but has the best costumer service I have encountered with the most amazing food I’ve had in a while. It was 3 of us and we got a meatball sandwich, pastrami sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich and a personal barbecue chicken pizza to share. The sandwiches all combos and came with potato wedges and a can soda. The price was VERY reasonable, you definitely get a bang for your buck here. Now the the question you’ve all been waiting for on my ridiculously long review, how was the food? The sandwiches were hot and oh so delicious! The meatball comes with marinara sauce, mestballs, provolone, mushrooms, red onion and red bell peppers, gooey and tasty. The buffalo chicken was a nice balance of flavorful thinly sliced chicken breast and tangy buffalo sauce with tomato, lettuce, onion and cheese. Now the pastrami, oh man the pastrami is definitely the star of the show. Hot, flavorful and not one bit greasy. The pizza has a beautifully yeasted crust that is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The barbecue balances out perfectly the gooey cheesy pizza with thr same chicken that is used on the sandwich, and let me tell you I don’t mind one bit. My hats off to the cook, you know what you’re doing good sir. I encourage you all beautiful humans to try this hole in the wall and savor it’s goodness.

Massimo’s Pizza Huntington Beach – Menu with Prices – 22311 Brookhurst St #103, Huntington Beach

So, was with friends and we got into a debate on meatball sandwiches. We were trying to figure out who has the best ones in the area. Massimo’s didn’t win that day, but I only come here now. The meatball sandwich they sell is incomplete in my and my friend’s opinion. It just needs extra sauce and that makes it the best. So, order a meatball sandwich, get extra sauce and you will easily have the best meatball sandwich for at least 10 miles around. I haven’t had the pizza, it looks pretty good. The guys working here are nice and friendly. I really enjoy watching a few of the pros prepare the dough for the pizzas, it looks so easy, but if you are really good it looks effortless. You can watch them make your food, place is setup so can watch what is going on in the kitchen. Lots of parking, accessibility is a minor issue for seating only. Shop isn’t real big, so ordinarily you won’t have issue getting to any seat, but if you have a walker or chair you will want to take a moment considering where you will sit. Will come here again, like I said best meatball sandwich you will find.

Lucky Greek – Menu with Prices – 123 N McKinley St, Corona

I went for the first time today after driving past it alot. The food is a little less than as to be expected in this type of burger/mexican / pastrami/ sandwich place. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, which werent great or terrible. They were over priced at 3.25 each. They had chicken, rajas, onion, and tomato with a spicy green salsa. The salsa was the best part of the soggy tacos. The chicken seemed boiled or something. I also got the pastrami sandwich meal, the pastrami sanwich was as expected, I like that is was light on the bread, but it was pretty soggy. The fries that came with it were exactly what youd expect, but there were only about 1/4 the amount of fries you get at any other similar establishment. The pastrami meal wasnt worth the 10.50 they charged for it, especially since you only get a small fries and medium drink. My order with 3 chicken tacos and a pastrami meal totaled out to 22$ and change. Probably wont be back.

Primavera Pizzeria and Grill – Menu with Prices – 570 Celebrate Virginia Pkwy #145, Fredericksburg

Decided to stop in on a Saturday, around lunch time to give this newer Italian eatery a try. Upon entering, it’s a huge, cavernous dining room with tables/chairs around the outer walls and basically bare in the middle and the middle is huge! The ceiling isn’t finished, so the roof trusses are exposed and really high, which give it more of a loud echo, which doesn’t make it too cozy & comfy inside. You order at a counter and they give you a number for your table and bring the food out once prepared. Service was friendly. We tried a Buffalo Chicken Sub and a Meatball Sub. The Meatball Sub was impressively delicious and it seemed fresh. The Buffalo Chicken Sub was made with fried chicken that was cut up, like they were fried nuggets or tenders, rather than fresh chicken grilled on flat-top or sautéed and then put together with a spicy Buffalo sauce. The sauce was non-existent on it and it had no spicy nor buffalo flavoring. The fries that came as a side were barely warm, definitely not hot. They don’t have ketchup bottles or a large pump, they use those little ketchup packets. The overall feel is just odd, as it seems like a massive dining hall with no personality. No pictures on the bare walls. Overall, I might come back to try the pizza, because it looked amazing, but I wasn’t impressed otherwise.

Sauce Pizza & Wine – Menu with Prices – 7300 N MacArthur Blvd #120, Irving

Came in on a weekend lunch and right as you walk in, you are headed toward the cash register. Up on the ceiling is the menu so we stopped to take a look. So many choices it was a bit overwhelming but I decided on getting pizzas. Me and the bf decided to order a mushroom pizza and the chicken pesto pizza with red sauce. It was easy to order and everyone was very friendly. Soon after ordering we got to grab our drinks and find a seat. Theres lots of seating options from booths to tables to high tops too. We sat in a booth and about 10ish minutes later our food came out. Presentation wise the mushroom pizza looked amazing. It tastes amazing too! The chicken pesto pizza on the other hand was sad. It was good dont get me wrong but the tiny bits of chicken pesto around the pizza did not feel like a chicken pesto pizza. More like a cheese pizza with half a handful of chicken. I felt that it was a great pizza for a child who might want a cheese pizza but the parent wants them to eat some protein so you sprinkle some chicken but that was it. The chicken, from the time amounts I was able to try, was actually pretty good, flavorful and soft. It was like a slowcooked or soft shredded chicken. Taking a bit made you wish there was more of it after the one bit that had the chicken and the rest just being dough and cheese and sauce. The mushroom pizza however had sooooo much mushroom and arugula it was like I could barely see the pizza. It was sooo good because I love mushrooms! Definitely would reccomend that pizza. Lastly the dessert was amazing. Super rich and big and the gelato was very good. We were soo full we couldnt finish the cookie but it was super gooey and rich and warm.

Pacific Crust Sandwiches – Menu with Prices – 21451 Brookhurst St, Huntington Beach

Wow, great and amazing sandwiches!! It might be hard to believe but I never tried a Ruben. Yeah, I know..like they say in Spanish: “Que Vergüenza!”. This means “What Shame.” I know, my years being a foodie I never tried a Ruben. But I am so happy I got the opportunity. It’s actually a Pastrami Ruben, but it’s still pretty good. I was in dire need of a bathroom break and since it was already 11:00, I might as well get lunch. I took a look at their menu and I saw that they had a Pastrami Ruben. This looked too good to be true so I quickly ordered my sandwich w/ an Iced Starbucks Caramel Coffee that they had in the freezer and a bottled water. And to my surprise it didn’t take long and it was hot a delicious. They had thick strips of delicious Pastrami covered with sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. It was so delicious that even though it was a little big but I was starving, I was like a vacuum and I was just sucking up everything. And the cherry on top is the owner, Emily. I told her I was gong to make her a review on yelp and she gave me a big hug telling me thank you. To be brief, Pacific Crust Sandwiches are amazing and I would recommend everyone to check this out. It’s a diamond in the rough.

Slim Chickens – Menu with Prices – 2711 S Louise Ave, Sioux Falls

I got the opportunity to sit down at Slim Chickens last night. I had tried it once prior, but taking it away and eating it 10 minutes after ordering doesn’t do it justice. We tried out the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and their wings, with the french fries and Parmesan garlic chips. The wings were nice and plump and well coated in sauce, a far cry from Buffalo Wild Wings. The chips were crisp and very flavorful. My chicken sandwich was amazing. It is a simple sandwich but the pickles and the crunchy onion bits were a welcome addition. The chicken was moist and I can’t wait to get it again. If you have the opportunity, dip your fries in their ranch. It was a little tangy with a good consistency. Definitely not your average ranch. I am excited to try it again and again!

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 2504 S Marion Rd, Sioux Falls

Just stopped in this place finally a couple of days ago. Interesting Sandwich designs to be sure. I chose the Philly Cheesesteak and my co worker, the Meatball sub. His review after one bite, “oh wow.” After that I think we both said only a few words to each other the rest of the time because we were too busy enjoying our sandwiches! While I can’t detail his sandwich much it did look fantastic. Warm bread, nice sized meatballs and plenty of them, melted gooey cheese, and deep red marinara sauce blanketing it all. My cheesesteak could come in chicken or steak, I chose the steak. I added the grilled onions and hot peppers. It came to our table nice and warm. Soft bread, of course gooey cheese mixed in with the meat, and the onions and peppers seemed similar size and were blended with the cheese and meat perfectly. My first words to my co worker a mix between religious and NSFW. Ha ha. By comparison, I’ve had Pepperjax when it first opened, and again as recently as this week, and I would have to say the only similarities between the two sandwiches are the titles, meat, cheese and bread. Pepperjax is more chewy, the bread has more pull in the bite and somehow it seems a bit bland, and yes, I also order Pepperjax spicy. Capriotti’s, was a really good bite from first to last. Warm, gooey, cheesy, soft, flavorful, with just enough spice to know it’s there but nothing that will make it miserable to finish. Capriotti’s for the win on this one. I could have chocked my experience up to maybe a good day by their grill, my “beginners luck” being my first time in maybe I got a good sandwich, or any number of reasons, but that wasn’t it. I couldn’t get this sandwich off my mind so I went back the very next day and got their 20 inch version. (Yes, they have a 20 inch version that took me 2 days to eat. It might as well be a whole loaf of French bread you see standing by the oil at Hy Vee.) This next time was just as good as the first. The place itself has a cool vibe, cool color scheme and they have a little shelf with free dum-dum suckers to grab on your way out. How cool is that?! If you like Subway, Firehouse, Quiznoes, or Jimmy John’s. You should Love this place. Sorry, no pictures because I was too busy eating and didn’t want to stop.

Camilaâ??s to go Menu with Prices 402 Albany Shaker Rd, Loudonville

A new pizza place in Latham? Oh yeah! Finding a good place to get pizza in Latham has felt like going to the moon sometimes. There’s a lot of mediocrity here. I was excited to see them move in here where Lagonias was. They have a lot of specialty pizzas as well as salads, sandwiches and full dinners. All of the items are takeout or delivery. The man behind the counter was friendly and told me that before this they had a Mexican restaurant in California. After looking at the menu, I chose a medium Margherita pizza and a medium Buffalo Chicken pizza. They were 14 inches each cut into 6 wide slices. The Margherita had chewy fresh mozzarella, so chewy that it came off the pizza when bitten into. The fresh tomato sauce was mild and sweet with a nice basil and garlic flavor. The Buffalo Chicken pizza had a wonderful amount of blue cheese covering the whole pizza. The Buffalo sauce also has a real kick from chipotle pepper. The flavors were really well rounded just like a wing dipped into blue cheese dressing. If I had any thing to improve on I would say the crust. I like the perfect balance between chew and char and this crust is a bit too stiff for my taste. Overall, the flavors of the ingredients really pleased me. The price at around $15 each was fair for the quality of ingredients. I hope they stick around so we can try more of what they have to offer.

Jack’s Pizza & Subs – Menu with Prices – 5007 CA-1, Torrance

Absolutely best pizza in town! We have been coming here for years for the pizza and love the fact that it is small family run business with 3 generations in the kitchen each day! This is authentic Italian food. We recently discovered their subs though…. they are phenomenal. I love a good meatball sub and this is my new fav on jacks menu. My hubby is a sucker for pastrami and thoroughly enjoys the ones he gets at Jacks. My daughter is here daily for the pizza special; two slices of cheese pizza with a fountain drink for $4.50. You can’t beat it. FYI: this is a cash only establishment

Vincenzo’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 168-19 Union Tpke, Flushing

Vincenzo’s Pizza is now one of my new favorites! Staff was awesome! Really friendly and friendly and kind. The food was incredible. I had a white slice and a buffalo chicken slice with a side of blue cheese. I’m a huge fan of white pizza and this place does it right! The subtle seasoning in it was perfect. The hot sauce and chicken in the buffalo chicken slice were also perfect. I like the chicken to be super tender and the sauce to be hot but not too peppery or too hot. Everything about this slice was amazing. Chicken fell apart and was super moist. Had just the right amount of the toppings, not way too much like some places do. Loved the food from here. Thanks guys!!

Delroy’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 3305 Fyffe Ave, Stockton

Small diner located on the Port of Stockton property. Go to the west end of the Crosstown Freeway. Right on Fresno. Left on Washington. Follow it around to Navy Drive over the San Joaquin River. Check in with the guardhouse for the Port….the restaurant will be a block further on the right-hand side. Been open about one year. Delroy, the chef, was previously the cook for the defunct Commercial Exchange Club at the Port of Stockton and has now ventured out with his own deli. They are open Monday through Friday only… 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. They specialize in Jamaican and American food. Barbecue, seafood, and soul food. They also have a few breakfast sandwiches that they serve till 10:30 AM. Barbecue on Thursdays and Fridays only. Their special of the day today was a jerk chicken sandwich on a Genova roll. I tasted the jerk chicken… It was a bit spicy for me. I ordered the pastrami sandwich meal which included chips and a soda. I also added a large cup of homemade split pea soup which was pretty good. I enjoyed talking with Delroy. Really friendly guy. They also do festivals, business catering and special events. I would probably not make a special trip to eat here but if I was in the area I would stop in again.

Marble & Rye – A Modern Deli – Menu with Prices – 723 Lincoln Ln N, Miami Beach

I was so disappointed. I had read that the pastrami was amazing. It was not edible. It was cut too thick and it was rubbery. There was no fat that is part of a good pastrami sandwich and it did not have that delicious pastrami spice. Worst of all, the served it on white bread and insisted it was rye. I walked back to there counter and showed them what rye bread looked like and they gave me two pieces for my sandwich.
