I researched a restaurant that offered vegan, vegetarian and ‘regular’ food to satisfy everyones needs in our family. My daughter is vegan and wanted some great avocado toast on her birthday, 7/19. This was what I decided on to kick off her sweet 16 for a surprise brunch. We.Love. Up Inspired!!! From the moment we drove up and saw the cute patio with the super cute playhouse and bright yellow chairs. Entering the restaurant, I’m pretty sure I gasped. With the crisp white, light gray and happy yellow chairs and accents….it was a breath of fresh air! The concept of the restaurant is wonderful. Responsibly sourced ingredients and good pure food. We purchased avocado toast, kids french toast sticks, grilled cheese and short ribs sandwich, and a chicken salad wrap. We also ordered a hot vanilla latte and an iced vanilla latte. Everything was excellent. The soda served is stubborn soda from the dispenser and the root beer was sooo good. With all natural ingredients, it comes out a bit foamier and it’s great. There is a cabinet with games and toys for kids to borrow and play with which was a nice touch. The girl that took our order was a doll and so sweet. This is a new favorite place and we can’t wait to return to try something else on the menu! I mentioned we were there for my daughter’s sweet 16 and she was promptly wishes a happy birthday. When her avocado toast came out, it had two birthday candles in it! Such a sweet gesture and really great customer service! I would give this place 10 stars!!

602 Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 602 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach

I would say this place has decent coffee/tea and an ok avocado toast with a nice view by the beach. I ended up ordering the hot matcha latte and my girlfriend got the activated charcoal latte iced. I was hungry so got the avocado toast as well, with added egg. My matcha latte was pretty good, I like that it came unsweetened (tasted as such, I forgot to confirm), but it definitely was not my favorite. The activated charcoal latte my girlfriend got was actually really good! I think I would try that next time. The avocado toast was definitely not a hit for me. They had pretty thick pieces of toast, and the added egg they make is scrambled which I definitely don’t prefer on avocado toast. Wish they had made it just over medium/easy. They add sriracha and arugula as well. The sriracha definitely helped since it distracted me from the egg. I just think for 10.50 (they charge 2 bucks to add egg) it was not that good of an avocado toast. It seems people rave about açaí bowls here, so if I went back I would definitely give those a try next time!

HEYDAY – Organic Cafe, Coffee Bar and Premium Office Catering – Menu with Prices – 555 Mission St, San Francisco

This place is terrible. My coworker and I came on a Monday morning to grab a quick brekkie & coffee. My coworker got the avocado toast & I got their cauliflower frittata. The bread used for the toast was SO HARD and when my coworker asked if they could heat up the toast for her (in hopes to soften the bread), the worker lady was just like “no, the avocado would burn in the panini press.” We were both like, what the actual fuck is wrong with you? Why does it have to go through the panini press? You guys have an oven, why can’t you just heat the toast in there? You’re not going to put a croissant in a panini press so clearly you’ve got other appliances you could have used to heat up the toast. Honestly, she was probably just lazy & really didn’t care about providing the best customer service. The cauliflower frittata was also tasteless and dry like the Sahara desert. The vanilla latte I got was also overly sweet & they don’t even fill the cup all the way. When they handed it to me, the cup was only 80% full, ok what???? Don’t come here. If you want good quality breakfast items then head over to blue bottle, or anywhere else but here.

Bluestone Lane Santa Monica Coffee Shop – Menu with Prices – 631 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica

I have been want to try out this place for a while now! I always see their aesthetic coffee drinks and avocado toasts all over instagram, so I was definitely excited to come out to their Santa Monica location and try it! Immediately, I noticed that the coffeeshop was located right next to Sidecar Donuts, which was amazing! Also, it is walking distance to Third Street! Arriving at the location, I would say it was a lot smaller than I expected, but exterior and interior design of the place was super neat and bright! The staff was super nice and immediately greeted us when we entered. Good vibes overall just from walking in! I ordered their Matcha Latte and my friend order their Iced Aussie Latte! And we also tried their classic avocado toast! I love how the Matcha Latte was not sweet, so you get the strong flavor of the matcha. And this drink automatically comes with almond milk, which was so good! According to my friend, she said the Iced Aussie Latte was really good! The combination of the bitterness of the expresso with the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream makes this drink perfect! My friend said this drink is definitely more like a dessert, so if want to indulge she recommends!! And lastly, we order the avocado toast, which was so good!! The whole grain bread that it was served with tasted so good, and they were very generous about the avocado as well!! One thing I would say is that there is not a lot of room inside to sit. There is more room outside but it is honestly not too spacious. So definitely not really an ideal place to do work or study. Overall, great experience here! I definitely recommend and would come here again!

Verve Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 2101 Market St, San Francisco

This is a great option to kinda splurge when you need a break from those basic chain coffee shop drinks! It is on the pricier side, but it’s definitely cause they use higher quality ingredients and you can tell! I came in around lunch time and ordered an iced honey latte made with soy as well as their avocado toast with a poached egg. This was probably the best avocado toasts I’ve ever had! I like how the avocado spread was still pretty chunky (which is how I like it) and it was seasoned perfectly with the coarse ground black pepper on top that added a nice little kick. The pickled red onions on top also added a good crunch and acidity that complimented the creaminess of the avocado very well. Do yourself a favor too and add the poached egg – it’s an extra $2 but it’s well worth it! The drink I had was also pretty good; I don’t like my drinks too sweet and I was scared that the honey latte was going to be, but it had just the right amount of sweetness for me! I’ll definitely be back here some time!

Dulce Crepes – Menu with Prices – 11217F, Lee Hwy, Fairfax

My significant other and I went to Dulce Crepes for breakfast. The location is easy to find with plenty of parking, and the interior décor is attractive and simplistic. However, more attention is needed to the dining area once patrons leave, specifically cleaning the tables, chairs and floor. I ordered a sweet crepe with strawberries, toasted almonds, vanilla ice cream and a latte. My S.O. ordered a waffle with strawberries, bananas and blueberries. I must admit that staff forewarned me that the crepe would be dry without some type of sauce on it but I declined. I’ve always ordered my crepe the same with just fruit and ice cream on the side, and it has always been good but not this time. The crepe was extremely dry despite the fact that it had the natural juice of the strawberries, thank goodness I had ice cream to make the crepe edible. The latte was not that good and I wished for bottle water instead. When my S.O. took one bite of his waffle and when I saw his face, I knew there was a problem. He said the waffle exterior was too crisp and the interior tasted as if it was not fully cooked. He asked for refund of the waffle and was told he received a vegan waffle. My man is strictly on a diet of meat and potatoes every day, anything vegan or low fat is not on his radar. The person who took his order did not ask if he wanted a regular or vegan waffle, she made that determination for him. Instead of a refund, he was offered a breakfast sandwich of toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. He accepted the offer, although the sandwich did not look appetizing to me because the eggs were yellow and really brown, and tiny pieces of sausage rolled off as he picked up the sandwich to eat it. He said it was much better than the vegan waffle but nothing he would ever order again. Suffice it to say, we did not enjoy our dining experience at Dulce Crepes and will not return.

Turks Coffee Bar – Menu with Prices – 1276 Commercial Dr, Vancouver

Cute little coffee shop on The Drive with yummy coffee and a patio perfect for people-watching. My friend and I stopped in here after brunch to grab some lattes to go. For me a vanilla almond milk latte and for my pal a regular vanilla latte. I loved my little caffeine fix. I’m not sure if it was the coffee itself, the vanilla, or the almond milk, but whatever those baristas did, I really, really enjoyed my latte. Seems like a great place to hang out and catch up with a friend or post up and get some work done. It’s quite small in here, so I can imagine that it would get full quickly, especially on a warm, sunny day. Overall, yummy coffee, friendly baristas, and cute decor from other local businesses. While there are plenty of coffee shops on The Drive, this one will definitely be one of my top ones to visit and recommend.

Not Just Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1026 Jay St, Charlotte

I’m so happy NJC opened this new location. I was also so happy to see the meeting space they made for community use as well as the comfy couches and open feel they have with the grand building. Ok, so I know you can’t eat the building… so let’s get down to the food/coffee. I had the avocado toast with sun dried tomatoes drizzled with EVOO and salt/pepper. It was mind blowing. So amazingly tasty! The latte I had was made with oat milk and caramel syrup, and it will truly change your life for the better. Parking isn’t an issue at all. My only slightly negative feedback would be the chairs are not comfortable to sit in unless you’re on the couch. They are hard and for us less cushioned patrons, they can’t be tolerated for long. But hey, if chairs are my only negative feedback then that means they are winning for sure. I hope they stick around for a long time and keep filling my belly with delicious morsels.

Grateful Kitchen Co. Menu with Prices 727 N Henry St, Alexandria

This is a pretty cute spot in the Old Town West neighborhood of Alexandria. Their menu features breakfast, snacks, “lunch”, a kid’s menu, drinks, smoothies and smoothie bowls. Our group got: Green Smoothie Bowl: it was a great, filling size. Tasty, good ingredients and a pretty presentation. Smoked Salmon Toast on Multigrain: very filling, beautiful presentation, and we added avocado to this. Tasty. Avocado Toast on Rustic Loaf: your traditional take on avocado toast, somewhat filling and pretty yummy. Pesto Eggs & Toast: a unique take on a toast, pretty tasty and somewhat filling. I love that their food containers, utensils, and cups are all compostable. The inside is pretty small, only seats for 6 people, but some seating outside as well. There’s no WiFi (as stated in the more info section) which is a bummer… but I’m not from the area and I’m starting to see this just isn’t a thing here. The staff is smiley and friendly. We learned that they just opened up 7 months ago to bring something new to the area. We recommended coming to check it out ?

Toast Culture YEG – Menu with Prices – 11965 Jasper Ave, Edmonton

My co-worker and I stopped into Toast Culture on opening day. Service was relatively smooth for the first day open and the restaurant was about half full at noon. You place and pay for your order before selecting where you’d like you sit. After you’ve placed your order, they take your name and hand you a cute little name card, so they know how to find you once your toast is ready. The decor in the restaurant has a very industrial feel and relatively casual. The staff is quite friendly and our water glasses were filled regularly without having to ask. It took about 15 minutes for our orders to arrive to our toast. I ordered the Avocado BLT and my co-worked had the Smoked Salmon. Presentation was on point and our plates looked stunning. The smoked salmon came on multigrain bread and all the vegetable toppings looks super fresh! And my avocado BLT was perfect; it came with the most delicious piece of Meuwly’s capicola with guacamole and amazing basil aioli sauce with a lots of arugula and heirloom tomatos on the side… or on top of the potato sourdough, depending how you look at it. I would definitely order this again! The portion sizes at first looked a bit deceiving and I was unsure whether it would be filling enough, as my toast just came served on one slice of bread; however, I was quite full until it was dinner time! Because my toast was served on a potato sourdough, it was quite dense and filling. The avocado BLT, came topped with a balance of ingredients from all the food groups, so this one is a good way to hit a variety of everything you need for the day! I would definitely come back again and Toast Culture is definitely worth a visit! Everything is fresh and they source a lot of ingredients from local businesses. I don’t think there is a whole lot of parking in the area, as it is usually tight around the downtown area, but it was definitely a pleasant walk from my office and perfect for a warm day!

Austin Java Menu with Prices 2833 Spirit of Texas Dr bldg b ste 100, Austin

Love this place! It’sâ?? right nearâ?? the Austin airport and it’sâ??â?? such a cute bright & bubbly yellow spot. Looking at the website right now, I realized that it was probably a new additionâ?? to their cafe growth in different locations, glad I had the opportunity to check this place out. I was so hungry that I wasn’t sure if I should get two bowls or not but to heck with it, I decided to just get the Migasâ?? breakfast bowl with the French Toast Latte. I can’t remember the exact name of the dish and its not on the website just yet, but thanks to my notes I used to communicate with the server at the front. I was able to jot down the ingredientsâ?? I want in my breakfast bowl. It had scrambled eggs, roasted potatoesâ??, mashed avocado, tomato salad (pico de gallo), shredded cheese, tortilla chips on top. I asked for a chipotleâ?? hollandaise on the side as well. Everything was so simple & so dang good especiallyâ?? with their hot sauce. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the potatoes were crunchy & yummy along with the toppings on top. The French Toast Latte with coconut milk was perfect to wrap up my brunch and I rarely drink latte these days. I would definitelyâ?? stop by here again or at the other locations outside of Austin. Friendly service, and that gentleman who was so kind and patient with us deaf people ordering our foods, you’re dope! Excellent service + good spot to do your work or just to hang out and eat theirâ??â?? all-day brunch of deliciousâ?? foods.

Saigon Lotus – Menu with Prices – 6 St Andrew St, Toronto

The best Vietnamese food weâ??ve had in a while & weâ??re not even vegan or vegetarian! We are Asian food gourmets who appreciate authentic high quality food. Trust me. This was it. The staff were good & warm people. Plus we had 1 person in our group with a severe peanut allergy & once we told the staff, they took care preparing his food without any peanuts or cross-contamination. We were celebrating a birthday so Nema asked me if we were vegan. We told him we werenâ??t so he brought the birthday boy a very delicious vanilla ice cream cake with chocolate pieces in the vanilla ice cream. Apparently his mom makes them homemade! Thank you so much for a very lovey & delicious meal / experience!

Gypsy Place Coffee and Juice Bar – Menu with Prices – 90 Hampshire St, Cambridge

FYI: Their breakfast toast is not really the open face, stuff lying on top of a piece of bread kind of toast you might initially think. It’s a full blown sandwich which is even better. WHAT I GOT: Iced coffee & plain bagel w/ avocado mix // latte & breakfast toast with avocado mix PROS: Y’all I did not eat/drink all of the stuff in the previous section on one day. I came here twice in the same weekend when I came up to Boston for a visit because YES, this place is that good. They serve up some seriously amazing coffee and some equally as amazing food. The bagel I had on the first day was quite literally the size of my whole hand and that avocado mix they put in there was freakin delicious. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s not just a chopped/mashed up avocado. I don’t remember what exactly they added to it but it kind of reminded me of a breakfast like guacamole. Either way, I loved it so much that I requested them to put it in my breakfast toast (sandwich) the next day. They used some real nice cheese for that sandwich too, and toasted the whole thing so it was oozing by the time it got to me. Great portions, great coffee, and great interior decoration. This place is now my go to if I’m ever back in Boston again. CONS: Menu can be a bit deceiving/under explained so maybe a few more descriptions wouldn’t hurt so people know exactly what they’re ordering but all in all, no negatives about what they serve.
