Someone offered me a Krispy Kreme today and I thought to myself how mediocre these donuts are. Not sure what the big deal ever was but it seems when they opened in the bay area, everyone was raving about them. Hey! They aren’t that good! To tell you the truth I don’t really know ANY outstanding donut joints around the bay area. Are there any? So in a whim of nostalgia, I remembered the place that I used to frequent as a teenager at very early (3-5am) hours in the morning, pick up a dozen and head to Woodward Park and go star gazing. Man these things were good. Especially when they were freshly made at those hours. Baked goods tend to have a very short half life once they’ve been purchased but not Dave’s donuts. These things were absolutely delish even after a day or two, not that they often lasted that long. This place wasn’t in a particularly high traffic zone but they had their hooks in the morning delivery business and Dave had his truck with a camper shell built with specialized racks to carry these baked treasures of goodness. I figure this had to be the bulk of his living since punks like me showing up at the wee hours buying a single dozen wasn’t going to cut it. I don’t know if this place still exists as it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been back to my home town. I hope Dave is still going strong because when I do go back Im going to make it a point to hit up the first dozen I’ve had in years.

Harold’s Doughnuts – Menu with Prices – 114 S 9th St, Columbia

Donuts were fresh. It is a very popular store. We went at 9am and there were only 5 kinds of donuts left. So if you want good selection, you need to get there first thing in the morning. You pay for either traditional or craft style donuts. They show the price for a dozen but they do sell half dozen as well. They have coffee for sale as well. Parking is street parking only. The parking is meter parking from 9 am-7pm, M-S. You can use the park mobile app for the stalls in front of the store. The price is higher than other stores for donuts. Quality and freshness is much better. They seem to stay fresh longer than other donuts. I wish they kept better stock of the donuts through the morning. I’ve experienced in the past If they run out of donuts they will close early rather than make more. There is a small sitting area in the back with tables, but most buy donuts and leave. So get there early for free parking and better selection!

Campus Donuts Menu with Prices 6401 New York Ave # 145, Arlington

One morning while driving I had an urge for Donuts. Looked to my left and saw this Donut Shop. Pulled in, Parked, Entered, and asked for 2 glazed donuts. I proceeded to pay with my Credit Card and realized that 2 donuts did not meet the minimum purchase required of $4 in order to use the Credit Card. So instead, I bought an entire dozen of donuts.. Nothing bad about the donuts, but nothing really memorable about them either. They were just Donuts..

GRANNY DONUTS – Menu with Prices – 12341 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove

This place is great! It is a family run business and i have been coming here for quite some time to grab the fluffy sugar coated treats that my team loves so much. They are always friendly and remember everyone’s names that come in! I always get 2 dozen donuts and a ham and cheese croissant when i come in and everything is always delicious! (you have to get the croissant! It is amazing and I have ordered that from many places but it’s the best here) One morning I was there at 5:00AM… He was surprised to see me; he set up my usual order and just handed me a ham and cheese croissant because he had just baked them and they were hot. At that time in the morning, I was touched by his gesture. I gratefully at breakfast that morning! You will love the taste of the donuts, love the service and you will definitely be back. Great place!

Gospel 2 Donuts Menu with Prices 1100 E Bardin Rd, Arlington

I love coming here for my morning donuts! The owner is always so sweet and there is a great variety of donuts including cake donuts and variations of sausage rolls that I’ve found a majority of donut shops in the area do not carry. The prices are decent and usually if I get a dozen donuts I can expect a few free items.

Donuts And Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 2252 Euclid Ave, Ontario

What I’ve appreciated most here, is that even when many other donut shops have long since closed for the day, this place has had a full selection of decently fresh donuts. I’m sure many people have had some experiences trying to find good donuts during the later hours of the day. Many donut shops, (if they are even open), have little selection remaining, and/or donuts that aren’t fresh, or are even stale. But It’s not like that here. They do have nice donuts in general here. They also even threw in several complementary donut holes when I’ve bought a dozen donuts. I’d recommend it, especially for those looking for the sometimes hard-to-find, nice donuts, during the later hours of the day.

Sweet Apple Menu with Prices 5430 McGinnis Ferry Rd #106, Alpharetta

I actually have never stepped foot in the place but years ago my friends told us about the tofu donuts of course we were grossed out.I’m not a donut person and that combo was even more off putting to me.So when my friends went to visit family they brought back a dozen of tofu donuts to Ft Stewart.I drove my 40 mim drive home and ate 4 donuts in the car.My kids and I then polished off the rest when we got home.We soon after left for Texas and for years I talked about these donuts to EVERYONE.We now live at Fort Benning and were going up there to visit our wonder donut loving friends and I preordered 4 or 5 dozen of tofu donuts. We ended up getting caught in traffic and our friends had to pick up our order before they closed for us.The whole ride my husband had to hear me talk about these donuts because he was in Korea when I had my first box of heaven. We arrive and of course the kids and I run in hug our friends and grab tofu donuts. These by far are the best donuts I will ever eat in my life. There texture is so airy and just flipping delicious.I also got so mixed of their reg donuts and the fresh strawberry donut thing was insanely good.I seriously wish they would franchise because I feel its unfair to everyone who has not had the chance to taste this greatness.

Best Donuts – Menu with Prices – 4301 SE 15th St A, Oklahoma City

You don’t call yourself “Best” without expecting some serious shade for if it’s not true. Good news is HOLY HELL. THESE ARE SOME BEST DAMN DONUTS. Each one is dipped or iced to please any perfectionist; they’re beautifully smooth on top. They are GORGEOUS donuts. And they taste like OH MY GOD. The glaze comes off in these beautiful little flakes. The donuts are perfectly chewy yet light and airy. Get a dozen for your office. And maybe a dozen for yourself. Donut holes? Oh please just get yourself a dozen of those, all assorted. Even if I buy the office donuts, I tend to like donut holes better (even though I end up eating the equivalent of six donuts then), and the Bavarian cream ones are so addictive that I suddenly became everyone’s best friend in the office. Definitely one of the Top 3 donut shops across America that I’ve ever had. Eat now, worry about pushups later.

Steveâ??s Donuts – Menu with Prices – 7201 Arlington Ave suite c, Riverside

Donuts on steroids! Came here on a Friday morning around 7:30 am, I was the only person at first but then a line started to form behind me. I was curious to go here because of the great reviews. I must say, this place does live up to the other 5 star reviews and I hope it remains that way. I got a dozen custom for my awesome coworkers and just got one of the cool, unique looking donuts (doubled on the red velvet since I got one for myself.) These custom looking donuts look like they’re on steroids since it seems bigger than regular donuts (maybe it’s the toppings which adds height?) The actual donut was so soft and fluffy, I kind of just wanted that with no icing! But the donut itself tasted fresh and the icing part (with dried up red velvet cake bits) was pretty sweet but that’s donuts for ya! :] The owner was refreshingly friendly and welcoming. He helped me out a lot with my selection & pricing. My custom dozen selection came out to $13 w/ a .50 cent charge for card use. So cash would be ideal here. I’ll be back if I ever have my donuts craving again.

Tyler’s Donut House – Menu with Prices – 11108 Evergreen Way # D, Everett

I stopped in here this morning purely based on the Yelp reviews. Apparently I’ve never had a fresh donut before. Wow! Tyler’s may lack some ambience, but I went there for the donuts, not the atmosphere. They had a wide selection, including a few I’ve never seen before. Individual donut prices are a bit more than other places, but if you pick up a half dozen or a dozen, they give you a price break which totally makes it worth it. Even my kids noticed a difference- and they’ll eat anything! Their donuts were light and airy when they needed to be, and that perfect donut density on the others that we chose. We’ll certainly be back!

Chez Francois Seafood – Menu with Prices – 139 Tissington St, Lafayette

10/30/16 dishonest crooks told me i was paying $35 a dozen for 3 dozen select boiled crabs!!! imagine $35 a dozen !!!! i thought surely at that price i would get nice crabs, therefore i placed my huge order over the phone. however, every crab was maybe a medium……. if you wana lie about it !!! but…. to lie and say they were select??? illegal i would say!!! all 36 crabs were smalls and they know it !!! does 3″x3″ crabs shell mean jumbo to you ??? i got home for our party to open the bags to find baby crabs!!! so mad!!! claws were removed also !!! can one believe they stole the claws too ??? few of the crabs had two claws but 3 of 4 crabs had only one claw or none!!! ripoffs!!! dont believe them!!! stinky foul smell walking in also. i will be calling the better business bureau next!!!

Manley Donut – Menu with Prices – 1423 Bird Ave, San Jose

Definitely 5 stars. From the fast moving line (especially in the morning), to the helpful man who served me my 3 dozen donuts, to the EXTRA big donuts he threw in for free…I was so grateful! I will definitely be back again, if only to be greeted with a friendly smile by the donut server. Really though, bright and early in the morning, and a happy experience at the donut shop? That’s worth 6 stars. Their donuts are yummy, very filling, and they have multiple coffee pots available with varied flavors and decaf options too. Don’t be deceived if the place looks closed – it’s most likely open…it’s just a little dim around the area. Hope you grab a chocolate twist donut for me. Enjoy!

Donut Kingdom – Menu with Prices – 685 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee

The home of the absolute best and most creative donuts in Tallahassee! I’ve eaten Donut Kingdom creations for years, but only thanks to friends and co-workers sharing them at the office. I’m never actually visited myself until recently. They may be a tiny storefront, but they have so much inspiration in all their varieties of donuts! My favorites are the Twix, red velvet, glazed, and boston cremes donuts! We regularly share a dozen with our section at the office and although everyone may have their own particular favorite, we all agree that Donut Kingdom donuts are the best! They’re one of our hidden (or not so hidden) treasures in Tallahassee and I hope they get up the great work they’re doing for years to come!
