We are always on the look out for great ice cream places. Let’s just say one of my boys is not a fan of gelato and yogurt which we can find everywhere in AZ. Looked to Yelp to guide us based on stars and reviews which lead to Frozen Creamery. We were there later in the evening so the place was to ourselves for the most part. The boys grabbed Uno from the selection of games they offered and we grabbed our seats after ordering. The menu is robust and they have a great spin with coffee and ice cream that I need to go back and try. Hubby indulged in the caramel sundae. I had a few bites of the salted caramel ice cream and it was AMAZING!! A couple scoops of salted caramel and marshmallow in a waffle cone and two shakes later the family was in heaven!! Most impressive was the young lady that was working. I am in the facilities space for work so my eye plays to clean. She was doing an amazing job cleaning and closing down the store. This is not seen often and closed the deal for me to return. If any owner/manager is reading this, we were there on Monday, January 7th around 8:30PM.

Twistee Treat – Menu with Prices – 6900 Gulf Blvd, St. Petersburg

Let me start by saying that I’ve been wanting to go to Twistee Treat for years. I finally went today. They have so many delicious sounding choices! My husband ordered the root beer soft serve with cherry dip in a waffle cone. He said it was delicious. I ordered the fudge brownie soft serve with cherry dip and a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Mine was also delicious. I have two minor complaints. The first is that it seems like the ice cream is not cold enough to hold up to just existing. As soon as we received our cones, they were already melting and dripping all over the place and were a mess. The second issue I had with my cone was that I received it with the cone being dipped over the napkin that the young lady wrapped around the cone. This meant that I could not eat or enjoy the top inch of my cone because it had napkin glued to it from the Dip. (It is not possible to see the napkin with the dip on it in the photo because I placed another napkin over the top of it) basically I did not get my money’s worth. I had to discard a portion of my cone and ice cream. For some reason although my husband’s calling was also dipped it did not have a napkin wrapped around it during that process . Lucky ham! ? The reason it was so disappointing is that it was absolutely delicious! I will go back, but in the future I will make sure to share with the people working there what happened to my last cone so that they do it the same way.

Kilwins Jacksonville – Menu with Prices – 10281 Mid Town Pkwy Ste 125, Jacksonville

Everything about kilwins screams sugar paradise, from the smell as soon as you walk in of all the fudge and caramel apples to brightly smile faces of the associates. I have never had a bad time here and I feel as though anyone would be able to find something they liked in this store. I love trying thee different samples of fresh fudge they have set on top of the display cases for easy access. It’s especially cool because you can see the chocolatier making more right behind the case! Their ice cream is at the back of the store and is some of the best in town!It can be served in a traditional cone, a handmade waffle cone which is stamped with their name on the side for whimsy, or in a bowl. Their worse keep secret is also one of my favorite excuses for date night, their BOGO ice cream on Waffle Cone Wednesdays! I love going out with my fiancee, grabbing waffle cones with either a new flavor (I had the cappuccino chip this last time) or an old classic chocolate and just walking around the town center and window shopping.

Mayday Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 1835 US-1 Suite 127, St. Augustine

Today was my first time at Mayday, but it almost certainly will not be my last. Many reasons jump out at me when I considered giving it 5/5 stars, but highest on the list would be quality. In addition to it being some of the absolute best ice cream I’ve ever had, they also get points for variety, friendliness, cleanliness, and options. And when I say options, I’m referring to the ability to order a flight of ice cream flavors. If you’ve ever been to a craft brewery, then you know what a sampler flight is. And if you haven’t, basically it’s the ability to try small samples of the choices available, to help determine which is your favorite. In this case, a half dozen small scoops of ice cream; which in turn lead to some outstandingly unique flavors. This lineup included: Coffee & Doughnuts, Blackberry Earl Grey, Cloud 9 (Almond/Marshmallow), Honey, Datil Pepper Dark Chocolate Chunk, and Salted Caramel. The Datil Pepper was my favorite, because it had chunks of cacao nibs to go along with a nice spicy kick. But the sampler flight was what my wife got. I ordered a pretzel cone (which was awesome in theory, but a little too crunchy to become a replacement for the classic waffle cone) with two scoops. I chose The Aviator (Nutella ice cream with Biscoff cookies!), and a scoop of Blueberry Toast Crunch (which actually had the cereal in it). The Aviator was the better of the two, but just barely. Overall it was a fantastic first trip, and I can see why it comes so highly recommended. The ice cream options and plentiful and creative; and the quality of the dessert itself is up there with some of the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!

Gunther’s Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 2801 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento

Gunther’s was my first ice cream love when I moved to Sacramento. I was dazzled by the neon sign that lights up the exterior of the building with a cone being filled with a scoop of ice cream, and impressed by the longevity of this family owned ice cream shop. They have a case of ice cream treats from chocolate covered bananas, cherries, ice cream sandwiches, and even clown decorated ice cream cones. The shakes are divine. All made to order, and with the ice cream made on premises. If you’re a purist like I am, you’re there for the amazing ice cream! Gunther’s has been a family owned and operated creamery for over 60 years. The creamy delights range from basic flavors like chocolate, butter pecan, strawberry, to seasonal flavors that are sure to delight. I love that you can order either kiddie scoops, regular scoops, or a combo. The kiddie scoops are perfect if you’re just craving a smaller amount. The regular scoops are a tad larger, and I often mix my scoop sizes when I’m indulging in a couple of flavors. Scoops can be enjoyed in either a sugar cone, A classic Cone, waffle cone, or even in a bowl. I often will order my ice cream on a sugar cone and then asked for to be put in a cup so that if there isn’t room to sit and enjoy it there taking it with me is easier. My favorite flavors are traditionally the chocolate brownie, the mint chip, and they make a couple of different heavenly caramel ice cream flavors that depending on the season are available. Gunther’s is a great place to stop at any time of the day or evening. During the summer and warmer months of the year, it’s not uncommon to see a line out of the door and around the corner. Don’t let that deter you from enjoying premium ice cream! The line moves fairly quickly and when you get to the counter the customer service is superb. If you’re unsure of a flavor they are more than happy to let you sample then make a decision. Gunther’s is a Sacramento landmark, and definitely worth trying. I often feel like they are a hidden gem, and should be discovered, and rediscovered often.

The Soda Bar – Menu with Prices – 1500 Medical Center Pkwy Suite 1C, Murfreesboro

Tonight was my second time visiting The Soda Bar, I don’t frequent the Murfreesboro area much, but I was in the area with friends for dinner so we decided to stop by here for dessert! They have a full menu of dessert options, including a variety of shakes, about a dozen hand dipped ice cream flavors (in a cup, sugar cone or waffle cone), sundaes craft sodas and shaved ice. This visit I got the dulce de leche ice cream in a waffle cone and it was great!! The people working behind the counter were young but attentive, and there was a large group of what looked like high school girls taking up most of the tables in the shop, but there was a high top table towards the back that we were able to sit at. I love the decor and tables here because they have chargers on each table (both plugs and chords) which is awesome! They definitely know their target market (15-25) and what they want and need to go and hang out a place like this. The only thing I don’t care for at The Soda Shop is the entrance. They share a suite with a home goods boutique that has been closed both times I’ve been in, so it’s roped off, and getting to the front door when ready to leave if there are people in line waiting to place their order can be difficult. Overall, is The Soda Shop worth the trip to Murfreesboro if I wasn’t otherwise going? No. Will I stop in if I’m craving something sweet and I’m in the area? Absolutely!

Castillo Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 20 S Castillo Dr, St. Augustine

Dude, this place is fantastic. We got three milkshakes here…vanilla, caramel chocolate cheese cake, and brown butter bourbon truffle. All three were superb and use real whipped cream, but man oh man was that brown butter bourbon shake good. It was one of the top five shakes I think I’ve ever had and I love me some shakes. Both of the other shakes were quite tasty as well. The difference maker here is the ice cream which is most definitely top of the line. There is plenty of competition in this neighborhood for sweet treats, but they are making some quality ass milk shakes at this spot. Will be back for more hopefully soon…

Little Lion Café – Menu with Prices – 2721 E Central Ave, Wichita

Went in today and it was our first time in the shop. We’ve had their ice cream at events around town so we knew how yummy that would be. The customer service was amazing! I’m not sure of anyone’s names but I didn’t exactly clarify with them what I wanted since I switched mid order and she had already made my first order, well they were so kind and made me the caramel apple waffle sundae and it was to die for. Very yummy! Waffle was crispy the ice cream was full of flavor. My daughter got the other waffle with rocky road and caramel ice cream that I ordered but thought I canceled. Anyhoo she hates waffles but enjoyed every last bit of that waffle today. We were impressed with the customer service and food. My husband ordered a latte and it was perfect. We are latte/coffee snobs. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The kiddos loved it and service could t have been better.

Wild Scoops Menu with Prices 429 E St, Anchorage

If you’re interested in some artisanal flavors that reflect the local tastes of Alaska, check out Wild Scoops. They source local Alaskan ingredients to put into their ice cream and offer non-dairy flavors as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety they offered at this little ice cream spot. They let me try the different flavors until I settled upon I wanted, then I asked for the Baked Alaska topping. I also asked for the waffle cone because it was for the ‘gram. I got the fireweed flavor which was fantastic. Fireweed is a flower local to Alaska and they definitely have incorporated it well as an ice cream. It wasn’t overly floral and had fruity notes. The Baked Alaska topping is more of a marshmallow cream than a meringue as the texture is different. It was torched behind the counter and definitely the way to go if you’re looking for a picture-worthy cone. The service was friendly and if I didn’t live out of state, I’d be a regular.

Honeycomb Creamery – Menu with Prices – 1702 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

This place is really leaning into Camberville. hipster and I am here for it. Not regular coffee ice cream, but cold brew coffee ice cream (if I have to explain the difference its already too late for you). Rosé gummy’s. Goat cheese and Basil Ice cream (I got this and damn. this was basily. And I love it. Go big or go home). There were a ton of weird flavors which we tried most of and they were all quite good. You can get an ice cream flight. Thats just genius. But like everything hip there is a dark underbelly. They don’t do sugar cones. If you want a cone you are gonna pony up $1.50 for a homemade waffle cone. And its delicious and obviously if you are eating ice cream you are getting a cone because you aren’t a savage. But this bucking of the traditional cheap sugar cone for free is an aggressive stance and I can’t abide by it. Go here, eat their weird, delicious, flavors. Complain about the lack of a free cone. Remember that I went there before it was cool. Thats all I have to say on the matter.

Cold Stone Creamery – Menu with Prices – 3340 Pablo Kisel Blvd Ste E-102, Brownsville

This was some of the best Ice cream I’ve ever had. I had a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and covered in nuts, and 2 scoops of ice cream, all for 6.00. The ice cream stayed cold and unmelted down to the last bite. I will be going back not just for the ice cream , but the wonderful, helpful lady behind the counter. Thanks Cold Stone for a wonderful end to my shopping day.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Menu with Prices 800 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta

Overall…just splendid!! Service: This place is small, but the staff is very efficient. They are quick to hand out samples and get your ice cream out to you. I mean? Why would they not be? This place can be packed especially during the summer and with the amount of foot traffic Avalon can get. The staff is used to it and they are ready for any rush. Food: delicious ice cream! Always something new to try out, but always stocked with the usuals. They have such unique flavors that you can’t find at any Baskin Robins or Brusters. Their ice cream is delicious and so light, that I never feel guilty after eating it. I recommend getting the Trio. Why? Well for $6 you get 3 half scoops and a large waffle cone chip. Why this and not just a cone? Well, I believe in optimizing what you pay for. For a cone, it’s $5 and you get one flavor. But with a Trio, you get to try 3 flavors for really only a $1 more. Sure, you don’t get to enjoy ice cream from a waffle cone, but it’s less of a mess and you get to try more flavors. The Trio was enough for both of us to share and not feel too full. 5/5 – because…I don’t always get ice cream, but when I do I always try to come to Jenni’s! I love this location because while I’m eating, I can go around window shop, and possibly burn off some calories from walking around a bit! It can get busy and it is hard to find seating around the building, but worth if you want good friendly staff and delicious ice cream!
