Went to Kickers last night for the first time and had a great time. The Southpaw Band was playing live and put on a great show. The only thing I could not understand was the size of the crowd. I was there several hours, left around 1230, and I don’t believe there was ever more than 25 people in the bar. But the stafff were all professional and the patrons were all friendly. I plan on going back.

M’s 4300 Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 4300 Culver Rd, Rochester

I went to see The All Inn Band on a Saturday night, no cover charge. I have also been there before to eat. The food was good and drinks reasonable. When we approached the bar for our first drinks, the bartender was in front if us and we waited for her to finish texting on her phone before she acknowledged us, not very professional. When there is a band the tables from the band area are added to the other tables, it makes it difficult to walk around, very crowded.

The Rat Hole – Menu with Prices – 3833 Socastee Blvd, Myrtle Beach

For the second straight Myrtle Beach Bike Bike I have been disappointed by the lack of activity inside the building. we got there just at the completion of the Bike Rodeo outside and did you get to see the pudding wrestling, but the announcer kept saying that after that was over there would be lots of events going on inside at the main bar. We rushed in to get a good seat viewing a stage and sat there for 2 hours waiting. It was a band playing and it took a break. They announced is some things that take place on the stage and all it was was three or four ladies dancing I guess. Then the band started up again. The music was good but we came in for the competitions on the stage which were not happening. Finally after sitting there for almost 2 hours I asked the lady at the bar what was going on and she said they had to wait till the band stop playing again. I waited a little longer but then considered the fact that the last time the band stop playing it took almost 20 minutes to get anything organized and that was a disorganized dance so I figured I’d leave. I guess I’ll try again next Bike Week in the fall but this is becoming disappointing. I was not the only person left the parking lot was almost three-quarters empty when we pulled out. I’ve been there before long ago one there were lots of people and lots of crowds and lots of activities but not so much lately. Additionally, where there were once many vendors selling many things for bike week, now there is only a few and the only Bike Week souvenir was the Rat Hole t-shirts. Overall very disappointed but at least it didn’t rain on the way back to the hotel. If you going to check out the Rat Hole I suggest go early for the field activities or go ‘very’ late and maybe you’ll see something going on inside.

Dogtooth Sports and Music Bar – Menu with Prices – 5310 Shirley St, Naples

Great venue for live music and good food. Came in on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar. I was greeted quickly ordered the grouper sandwich with a Stella. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had the feeling this is a local bar but I felt welcome and was treated like I’ve been there many times. Grouper (fried) had good flavor and quality for the price. I’ll definitely try more things off the menu next time. What tool this experience over the top for me was the live music. Terrific band that engaged the crowd and had people dancing the night away. The crowd was also great, just a packed house there to enjoy themselves and life. Met some great people and had some good conversations. I’ll be back to enjoy many times in the future!

Jack’s Happy Landing Menu with Prices 641 Massillon Rd, Akron

I don’t go in here often because when I do – I feel like I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel when I’m looking for fun. At least now I can sit in the place for more than a few minutes without stinking myself – since they finally stopped people from smoking inside, long after the laws had banned it. The decor is pretty bland – just a long bar and some tables against the opposite wall. Not the cleanest, either. The problem here is that some nights, it’s real hit-or-miss with the clientele. Some nights, it’s OK, but a lot of the time, there’s more empty beers on the bar than teeth in the mouths of the patrons – if you know what I mean. Late nights I will sometimes stop in right before home to see who is there, but usually it’s the same old crowd (picture a casting call for the Roseanne show – and these people were rejected) and I turn around and head right back out. Now they have had a band in here on a few recent Friday nights, and I have actually stayed for a couple of beers to check them out. The additional people made things more tolerable…maybe if they advertised that they had live music on Fridays, they could help themselves out a little. You’ve all heard the song – “I’ve Got Friends in Low Places.” Well, this is the place they were talking about. Roll the dice and stop in on a Friday night….

Evolution Wonderlounge – Menu with Prices – 10220 103 St NW, Edmonton

My first time here was to watch Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It’s a rock and roll musical, featuring a fictional transgender East German character named Hedwig. I’ve seen this show a couple of times in the past. I was excited to hear that it would be playing here. I wasn’t sure how the seating worked in this venue. Luckily, I arrived 45 minutes early. There were a few seats at the front reserved for VIPs (people who paid more for their tickets). The rest of the seats were general seating (first come, first serve). There was a limited number of seats. People who arrived later had to stand in the back. There was a bar service before the show. I didn’t see anyone eating any food. Just drinks. They stopped serving drinks during the show. The washroom was nearby and was gender neutral. Overall, the show was well done! It was everything I expected. The sound quality was okay. I could hear clearly when the actors were speaking. However, it was a bit harder to understand when the characters we’re singing. I am very familiar with the songs, so I could still follow along. The band was amazing and the acting was on point! The costumes were also true to the characters of the story. This venue was perfect for this particular show because Hedwig and his band, the Angry Inch, perform in bars. It’s reminded me of a dinner theatre show, where the actors (in character) mingle with the guests. The lines blur between reality and fantasy. It was fun to feel like part of the show! Overall, I had a fun experience here! I enjoyed the show! It was a wonderful opportunity to support our local artists!

Wanderlinger Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 1208 King St, Chattanooga

Came here on the recommendation from a local friend. It’s a newer brewery that’s dog friendly and puts on live shows. I came specifically to see Strung Like a Horse, an incredible band that combines bluegrass, rock, blues, funk, and a little gypsy to create an incredible sound. They’re a local band but they tour, check them out! Opening for them was Lew Card, another great local bluegrass band. They put on a great, high energy, soulful show. A local visual artist was doing colorful light projections on a screen behind them, and a painter was making custom artwork in the distillery itself. They have corn-hole in a small triangle of astroturf outside. The space is open and airy, very versatile. And on some nights they have a BBQ truck with what looked like a smoker outside. It’s a little hard to find from the road, make a right into the parking lot behind the Moxy Hotel and follow the music. Staff was great, stop in!

Los Armandos – Menu with Prices – 5820 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix

This review is based solely on the Night Live ay Armando’s (not the food) we where looking for a chill “bar” to have a couple drinks and a friend suggested Armandos at 1st I was hesitant like TF are we gonna do at a Mexican Restaurant if we ain’t hungry. Needless to say I was surprised as after the restaurant closes, it because like a mini night club with a live Band well this particular night they had a “Grupo Norteño” the beer is expensive at $30 for a bucket of 6 bottles Modelos. And although I was NOT dressed for the occasion I danced the night away and had so much fun!

Six Springs Tavern – Menu with Prices – 147 N Plano Rd, Richardson

Last night me and my husband went to hear live music. $15.00 cover for each of us. That would of been ok if the music was decent. The Nathan Perry Band was incredibly slow and horrible!! The second band, we listened to a half of the first song and left. The bartender asked what kind of tequila we wanted in the margarita, not letting us know it was going to be a $5.00 up charge for Jose AND the cost of the margarita. We paid $7.00 for a small solo cup of watered down sweet and sour. Needless to say….. we won’t be visiting again. I hope the other 16 people that were there had a better experience than we did.

Bar XIII Delaware – Menu with Prices – 1706 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington

I don’t really go to bars or drink that often but hubby kept talking about this band he wanted to see so I got tickets for us. It was a Saturday night the band was to start around 9:00 we got there around 8:30. They weren’t busy yet. The guy at the door very friendly and was talking and giving us postcards with upcoming events. I don’t drink beer, wine or drinks with soda and unfortunately there are few drinks I like. I first ask if they do frozen drinks which I kind of already figured they didn’t because most bars like this don’t but figured I try. So I always go for White Russian first bar I have been to that doesn’t serve White Russians. But I will say the bartender was so nice and patient with me making suggestions so finally got a drink with vodka and cranberry juice. I can’t remember the name of it but it was very good. I had two of them. The band was really good but they started about 45 minutes late. The room the band plays in is standing room only. If you want to sit down you have to go to the bar area. And there is a cute little lounge area in the back to hang out in. This is a nice friendly neighborhood bar. I can see why a lot of people go here. They do have a lot of events I would be interested in going to but most are on a Sunday night at 8:00 which is to late for me because Monday morning comes to early. I really want to go to the midget wrestling hope they have one on a Friday or Saturday night.

The Firefly Lounge Menu with Prices 1015 N State St, Bellingham

Went last week to see Sawyer Fredericks (Wolfchild opened). Had to stand out in the rain because they closed during sound check. Had not seen that happen before – a bit annoying. Then they were late opening the doors. But, okay, maybe that’s on the artist. We were third in line so fortunately got seats at one of the 4 or 5 tables against the wall. There were no chairs set up when people started arriving so folks were just setting chairs up willy nilly. Seems if you are going to allow chairs, then you would set them up in advance to maximize the space? So, of course, there was some adjustment to the seating when it got crowded. Also odd that they let people stand on the aisle side of the rail… doesn’t seem like the fire marshal would approve of that…? Oh, and those folks block the view of the folks (like us) at the tables. Still, it was a great show. The most annoying thing was people talking loudly and having conversations while the artists were playing. Wish they would put some signs up asking people to show a little respect for the artists and other patrons. Service is super friendly! One free refill on pop, so nice for DD’s. The beer list is excellent – lots of styles plus a few ciders.
