I been to this milk tea store few times, every time makes me suprise because the drinks that I got was amazing and taste so good. Before it opened, I cannot get any good drinks close by and have to walk a good 15 mins, so glad that it opened in my neighborhood and I can get a drink supper quick and easily. My favorite is always KF Oolong milk tea with Nata Jelly. I cannot even use words to describe how it tastes like, it just fit my taste I believe. Sometimes I will try the slushy, kinda get into the Strawberry milk slush, little bit soul with sweet and its perfectly for summer. Therefore, I highly recommend this place, because its clean and they have nice customer service, I love to chat with them. That’s all I want to share.

Mi Tea Time – Menu with Prices – 1327 S Harbor Blvd, Fullerton

Really really wanted to love this place because it’s walking distance from our place and we LOVE boba, coffee and milk teas. Was excited to give it a go after reading all the positive reviews and was curious with the business and name change. But all of our drinks failed to satisfy us. Iced Vietnamese coffee: not strong, too sweet, tasted nothing like a traditional Vietnamese coffee. My husband took a sip and couldn’t even tell what it was. And Vietnamese coffee always has a distinct unique taste. Peach slush and choc mint chip slush were decent. Milk tea: we ordered 3 of these all 3 of us didn’t even finish half and we tossed it. Strawberry milk tea: super watered down. Niece said it tasted like pink water.

Tai Tea Anaheim Menu with Prices 9840 Katella Ave, Anaheim

I have been a fan of the Tai Tea franchise since I loved their milk tea and iced milk drinks at the other locations. When I saw they had a BOGO deal, I had to come check it out! However, I never knew someone can mess up on Jasmine Milk Tea so badly…. I am not sure if it was because of the promotion they had, hence they rushed or if it was because of the ingredients in general… Jasmine Milk Tea, half sweet, – it did not have any jasmine taste at all. It was also very bland and did not taste right at all. Not sure what made it taste like this, but i did not taste any jasmine green tea in the milk tea. Very disappointed in this drink since it is always my go-to drink for every store. Berry Lychee tea, half sweet – very little taste of strawberry and lychee. I think since I got half sweet, they lessened the syrup pumps they put in, resulting in a very bitter tea with little to no flavor Triple the trouble – this drink ended up being too sweet for me. The flavor was good though, but tasted just like syrup instead of something fresh and refreshing MangoNada- this was great. Good mango and chamoy flavor and consistency in the slush. WinterMelon milk tea – Did not taste any winter melon in this drink. It was very subtle and the milk tea itself did not taste right. Hong Kong Milk Tea Coffee – This drink was horrible honestly. I was expecting a very strong ceylon milk tea with a hint of coffee because I often drink this type of drink elsewhere and make it at home as well. But this was extremely bitter and did not taste any tea. They need to add more creamer or more tea because it tasted like straight-up black coffee with a splash of milk and sugar. I hope they improve their drinks. I had a very bad experience with my drinks. My family and I ended up throwing away all of our drinks half way because we were so unhappy with them. they did not taste right at all besides the Mangonada.

Gong Cha Richardson – Menu with Prices – 1425 E Belt Line Rd #102, Richardson

This place is amazing! Not only is the location super close but it’s next to Target! lol I love myself some milk tea and Target. My favorite drink is the Earl Grey Milk Tea with the 3J’s. I thought that with that many topping, the milk tea would be overpowered but it’s actually the opposite! You can still taste the tea and enjoy the toppings. This place also give a generous amount of toppings. The lemon aiyu with the white pearls is so refreshing on a hot day! The milk foam dirty brown sugar milk tea is so good, very similar to a caramel milk tea, but more milky flavor. The milk foam green milk tea is amazing! You can really taste the green tea flavor. Matcha milk tea is mixed ver well and there is not a powdery taste at all. The strawberry milk tea reminds me of an artificial strawberry pocky flavor. I do recommend all drinks to be less sweet though because this place tends to be on the sweeter side.

Da Ice Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6101 N 23rd St suite j, McAllen

So the hubby brought me a milk tea and got himself a honey dew melon slush the first time we tried this place. The taste was artificial, not a “fresh” drink and was crazily sweet. Not a bad drink but I was having some serious sugar rush afterwards. I may give the drinks another try. Now the shaved ice… That was hands down the best I’ve had! I loaded mine with condensed milk and popping cherries. Also, added the popping lychee later. The customer service is great :). Very accommodating and friendly. Since it was a bit empty we really appreciated the tv background noise. Overall, we would definitely come back and recommend this place. Please take into consideration I do not like overly sweet items.

Tastea Riverside – Menu with Prices – 11130 Magnolia Ave Unit C, Riverside

I USED to love this place (I have frequented this place once or twice a week since it opened) until a few recent experiences. My last straw was a few days ago. I ordered a small honeydew milk tea with no ice and half sweet with no boba. The guy who took my order (he was nice and friendly) asked if i wanted to top it off, I said no. I didn’t know that no topping off would result in only about 65% full and for about $5, it has left a sour taste in my mouth). I went to show the guy the amount of drink they gave me and asked if they could top it off for me, he said I would have to pay EXTRA. I felt like i was being ripped off. I usually order my milk tea with no ice and half sweet and of all the boba places I have been to (ShareTea, Half & Half, Happy Lemon, Ding Tea, Omomo, Boba Tea House, etc), I always get a full cup of drink. The previous visit with a bad experience was with a specific staff there. She was rushing me and cutting me off while I was ordering. I wanted to try one of the summer drinks when they were available (forgot the exact name, but it had honeydew and I DIDN’T know it was a slushy. Thought it would be similar to a muddy melon), and asked if i could have it with less ice, she gave me the most judgy and condescending look and talked to me as if i’m really stupid, “SO, it’s gonna be liquidy. You want something liquidy with slushy? You want that? You want that?” and shrugged. She could have simply said, “sorry, but we can’t do that with slushies” and i’d totally be cool with it. After this visit, I stopped going there for a few weeks. Normally, Tastea staff are so nice and friendly (and I love their positive energy), but one. I told my friend about it and she thought I was exaggerating until she came in and that same staff took her order. My friend agreed that specific staff had a really bad attitude. If it just happened one time, maybe that person had a bad day, but if it’s a few times, that staff needed further training in customer service. We didn’t wanna go in the day she’s working. I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I was and still am upset that I needed to say it. Not sure if I would go back any time soon.

Unplugg-D Cafe – Menu with Prices – 12085 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove

This is entirely based on the drinks, not food or service wise as a heads up! BLACK MILK TEA: For the BMT, I feel like this is generally a very bland tasting milk tea. Other places make it better, but others also make it worse, so this falls right in the middle: average. The BMT is more on the milky side than the actual black tea itself which I believe should have an equal tasting milk to tea ratio. RATE: 5/10 TROPICAL NIGHT: This is suppose to taste like a strawberry lemonade kind of fruit tea, but really lacks that strawberry flavor I was looking for. The TN has more of a prominent grapefruit flavor, but has no grapefruit in it, which is very confusing as to where that taste comes from. RATE: 4/10 PEACHY GIRL: The PG drink is very very bland. I don’t really taste a distinct peach flavor in the drink like it probably should. It’s more on the watery side than the tea side, so it basically feels like I’m just drinking straight up water with a hint of peach juice. RATE: 3/10 TRA BUOI: The TB tea is the best of the 4 drinks I ordered. This tea actually tastes like guava and the tea base complements the guava. It has a little sour taste to it which isn’t necessarily bad. RATE: 7/10 OVERALL: 4.7/10 would recommend coming here.

Kung Fu Tea – Menu with Prices – 2067 N Central Expy Suite 100, Richardson

Kung Fu Tea One of my favorite Boba chains and has locations all over the US. My favorite drinks from KFT are the milk teas. The Milk Teas at KFT are my favorite because of how creamy and rich the milk tea is compared to other Boba shop chains. The inside of the place is clean and looks nice but tables can be dirty like any other boba shop. The staff can make common mistakes just like any other boba shops. Another thing is their attention to your sugar preference. Sometimes I can order 50% sweetness but it’s still really sweet at KFT. This goes for every single boba shop out their is their attention to your sugar preference that you order. The same thing applies when you ask for less ice at KFT and all boba shops can give you normal ice amount. I’ve been to many boba chains and my favorite boba chain is ShareTea for its generous serving of boba and you get a larger size for the same price as a small size at KFT. The tea creaminess of the milk tea at ShareTea is more subtle then KFT. So it’s all a matter of your preference if you want more tea and stronger tea flavor go to ShareTea if you like your tea creamy but get less tea go to Kung Fu Tea. Another thing I don’t like about KFT is that they use a lot of powder flavoring for fruit drinks like taro. My favorite drink at KFT is oolong milk tea with boba because it’s creamy and rich flavor and a nutty taste. Drinks I recommend ordering are the Matcha red bean slush, oolong milk tea, and Kung fu tea. KFT also has an app to earn rewards and points every time you buy.

Kung Fu Tea – Menu with Prices – 21 Hidenwood Shopping Center, Newport News

Omg, where have you been all my teenage and young adult life? I always go back home to NN and get surprised every single time I discover a new joint. I wish they would have opened 10 years ago! ….Damn, I sound old. Anyway, this lovely little spot of slushy goodness shares a large parking lot with a whole bunch of other businesses. It is clean, employees are nice and quick with orders. This place is a franchise so make sure you download the app, charge up your card and start earning your bubble points. It is super easy and free. The menu is vast, there are dozens of combinations to choose from. They sometimes have seasonal specials which I am itching to try someday. My favorite is the green tea milk cap- if you like the strength of match green tea and a sour heavy cream note then I recommend this puppy for you. I dream of the combo. Also, always, always, ALWAYS add bubbles (tapioca pearls). I also like the taro milk tea-which is sweet potatoes light starchy taste. I was not a fan of the rose milk tea-it faintly tasted of rose and more sweet than anything and I was expecting a slap of flavor compared to the other items. Overall? There is no bubble tea places in NN ( expect the PH Mall-but it was a sushi place and it was garbage) so I do think it is an excellent stop for the lucky CNU kids or after a nice Hot Yoga sessh, both locations which are right next door.

Kung fu tea – Menu with Prices – 7489 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs

Ok newbs. If you don’t know, here’s the scoop. Since Colorado Springs is for the most part a culinary and cultural wasteland this place may not make sense to many people. That is until you try it and then you’re hooked! Headquartered in NYC, the culinary and cultural capital of America, Kung Fu Tea is all over the country. The first one in Colorado launched about a year ago to enthusiastic crowds on Hampden Ave near the 25 freeway in Denver and yes we drove up there regularly! Boba, some call it bubbles for some weird reason, are small tapioca balls – think round gummi bears. Chewy, sweet, fun. They are placed in the bottom of your cup and then topped with the beverage of your choice. I know. It makes no sense, but it’s awesome! The old-school classic is milk tea with boba which is my standard. If you like more of a slushy/smoothie vibe then try the Taro Slush with boba. It’s really good too! They give you an extra wide straw so you can suck those puppies up! The cups are sealed by a magical plastic sealing machine. You can turn your cup upside down and presto, no leaks! Then you get one shot to jam your straw, pointed tip down. Be careful not to suck up too hard. While the drinks are amazing, having a boba fly into the back of your throat isn’t. BIG TIP! – many of us wisely are cutting back on sugar and sweets. You can ask for half sweet or reduced sweet by percentage. I usually do half sweet and it’s still really great.

Cha Express – Menu with Prices – 46164 Warm Springs Blvd #234, Fremont

So thought this place was going to be good but overall the drinks are way too sweet. I went over the weekend for their grand opening buy one get one free special and tried 4 different drinks. Tried the guava and grapefruit, Hawaiian tea, kumquat lemon tea, and their classic yunnan milk tea. Ordered all drinks 50% sweet and 50% ice. The only drink that was okay was the yunnan milk tea. All the others were way too sweet even at 50% they tasted more like 125% sugar and that was without adding any toppings. If you like your boba extra sweet, this place is for you but I prefer to taste the tea in my drinks. The service was friendly but even though the line wasn’t too long maybe 20 people, it still took about 45 minutes from start to end to receive the order. Drinks are also about $5 without any toppings, a bit on the pricey side for boba. Would be worth it if it didn’t taste like straight sugar. Most likely won’t be back.

Jasmine Kocha – Menu with Prices – 3129 Meridian Ave, San Jose

We came here because they had their promo of buy one, get one drink 1.99 (Extended until the 15th of October btw, make sure you show them their Facebook post and like it)! The service is nice and they like to try helping you order. I believe it’s family run as they all came out from the back and were snacking together in the front. This made me worry about who was in the back making the teas or letting the stuff sit there.. What we ordered and how it came out: Matcha Latte: little ice, reg sweet, no topping: Matcha powder is low quality/weak and had a powdery aftertaste. You could really only taste the milk as it seemed like they didn’t use a lot of matcha as they’re supposed to. Choco milk tea: less ice, reg sweet, no topping: Could really only taste Hershey syrup and no tea. Might as well just call it just chocolate milk. Red Moonshine: less ice, reg sweet, with mango popping boba. This is a strawberry and watermelon fused drink! You can’t taste the strawberry but can taste the watermelon. The tea is weak in this one as well and the popping boba wasn’t great either, which REALLY surprised me…you can never go wrong with popping boba unless you keep it out of the fridge for a long period of time and then serve it, like this place did. Ahhh… Long story short: they use the cheapest things to serve customers and it’s not worth the drive or the promo. There’s much better places around San Jose that does a lot better. I don’t think I’ll be back :/

Sweet Retreat – Menu with Prices – 11661 Parkside Dr, Knoxville

I was wondering how I had missed an ice cream shop in Knoxville that was kid friendly and had a ball pit, but it turns out it just opened in July. My sister and nephew were visiting so we went for dessert tonight after dinner with my mother in law. So we had 6 people-2 3yo, a 5yo and 3 adults. Grandma had strawberry rolled ice cream and we got mango. My sister got a mango slushy bubble thing. I personally do not like tapioca balls but I liked the mango slushy part of her drink. You get 3 free toppings with your ice cream and you can get whipped cream for free so I got mochi, strawberries, mangoes and whipped cream. It is very picturesque and photo worthy when it comes. However, it was difficult to eat because it was quite hard and my 3yo kept accidentally flicking ice cream around the table and at others because it was hard to break apart and get on her spoon. Overall, the atmosphere was great, family friendly, clean and the ice cream was good. It was $6.50 including tax for my rolled mango ice cream but when you factor in the play time for the kids and that they hand roll it while you wait it makes sense that it is more than a regular ice cream shop. We will come back for special occasions and would recommend it.
