We came here a few years ago when it was Lock and Key, we liked it ok then but Hayride Scandal has totally improved upon the last idea. Like a remix that made a song even better. First, it wasn’t overly loud, which for whatever reason seems hard to do in a bar around here. The decor was moody and eclectic. People from all walks of life in there and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. We sat at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly. The bartenders really know how to mix a good drink. I don’t even like bourbon but I tried my husbands old fashioned and actually enjoyed it! And it was with Buffalo Trace so not an extremely pricey brand. I had a Moscow mule off the happy hour menu and it was excellent, and also a Dark and Stormy on the recommendation of the nice guy sitting next to us at the bar. I was happy to see options for food, we tried the toast with goat cheese and it was pretty good, not something I’m going to crave later but a good option for a small bite. They had some really interesting small plates we didn’t try because we had reservations for dinner elsewhere. My husband was impressed with the liquor selection, especially the multiple options from Orphan Barrel which we have had a hard time finding just about anywhere. We will be back for sure!

Virginia ABC Menu with Prices 4349 Duke St, Alexandria

I have been on a Moscow Mule kick and thought it was time that I started to create this epic drink on my own. This store is fairly new and I can’t believe I hadn’t checked it out earlier. Upon entering, it was super spacious and had several huge advertisements from brands… even a huge Moscow Mule cup and a huge purple Kings chair by non other than Crown Royal lol. I got my bottle (pineapple vodka, easy to find) and headed to the register to purchase. At the register I noticed that they had an event listing for the store, events such as free alcohol, can you say win!!! The two guys that were working were really nice and even laughed when I joked about the black guy being named Bic (which wasn’t his name but what I thought I heard) it reminded me of Kevin Harts movie where he chose the name Bic Mitchum. Nonetheless, this will be my go to store from now on and I will be lurking so that I can make it to some of those free events lol.

Luminary Distilling – Menu with Prices – 8270 Peach St #300, Erie

If you’re looking for a drink this is by far Erie’s best place to go. Luminary distills it’s own vodka and wheat whisky. It also makes its own apple and peach moonshines, and limoncello. You can go in for a sampling or try an assortment of specialty drinks. On my visit I tried a traditional Moscow Mule as well as an Italian Mule made with its limoncello. Both were outstanding! My guest we with a Cranberry Mule and a Mocchatini. They we’re out of this world. The drinks are all craft made. There are no ore-mixes here. Even the ginger beer is locally brewed. Though they don’t sell food, they let you bring it in. And Brooklyn Pizza delivers (which we tried) rather quickly. In all, a great experience and I look forward to going back again.

Secreto Kitchen & Bar Menu with Prices 6195 Windward Pkwy #102, Alpharetta

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!!! A couple of my friends visited Secreto for Happy Hour on a Thursday evening and the specials were great and so were the drinks! We ordered all of the Happy Hour apps, which were delicious! The Shrimp & Wagu Sliders were the top 2 contenders! The fried green tomato’s were good and the jam on top were slammin! But I would definitely return for the shrimp and sliders! As far as drinks, I ordered the Moscow Mule first, which tasted like watered down sprite and the bartender was soo sweet she let me swap it for a Margarita which was AMAZING, with the perfect amount of liquor! During our visit, I’m not sure if he was the head chef or owner, however he greeted us, spoke to us about the different items on the menu, but RAVED about the Carrot Cake! And if you do NOTHING ELSE ON YOUR VISIT TO SECRETO, YOU MUSSST GET THE CARROT CAKE! Its warm, super moist with strawberries and a light cream cheese frosting thats not overwhelming sweet! You have to try it! Overall, the staff was amazing! Our bartender Sarah was amazing & the food omg! I will definitely be back for a date night to try some of their signature dishes!

Le Petit Moscou – Menu with Prices – 323 Ontario St E, Montreal

Brand new neighborhood bar in the plateau! The theme is Russian so drinking was spirited and friendly. I was able to chat with many of the patrons, who were all local to the neighborhood and most worked in the industry themselves. My impression was this is where your bartender or server go to drink, unwind, and hang out together when done serving you drinks and food- way fun to get an inside peek of local life! The bartender and owner were extremely attentive, personable, and all around great to spend time with. Drinking games and shots were plentiful but in typical Montreal fashion everyone was well behaved and pleasant in their banter. The cocktails were delicious and I’d strongly recommend choosing from one of the many Moscow Mule variations. Decor was on point, vivid red, trendy, and dimly lit. I highly recommend you stop in for a drink and a chat!

Raw Bar by Slapfish – Menu with Prices – 19694 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

Came here for the happy hour of course and left with not really thinking I’m going to come back. The happy hour menu and price changes every 30 minutes starting at 4pm until 6pm. We came at 4pm so everything was $4 on the happy hour menu. The service here was below average, their was only one server running around and when the restaurant started to get a little filled up, you could see her getting stressed out. Food would come out at random times, we ordered a lobster toast that we had to continue asking about and ended up asking for the check before our toast even came out. For the food, we got 2 lobster toasts, 2 fish and chips, 8 oysters, and the steamed clams. The lobster toast was basically a slice of bread toasted with lobster meat, delicious and in my opinion the most fairly priced item. The meat was seasoned perfectly with a nice sauce as well. The fish and chips were pretty good, the fries were a nice fry but the beer battered fish stole the show. Each order comes with 1 fish and a small handful of fries so I’m not sure if $4 is worth it for this item. The oysters were highly disappointing, orders come in 4 and when we got there they were offering F.P. And Paradise oysters. Both were very milky, and not oysters I would want again. The clams were not apart of happy hour but we got them anyway, they aren’t very big but you do get a lot. They were decent, cooked in white wine with garlic and fennel. Not something I would get again. Overall the $4 happy hour is a smart idea but the dishes are quite small so to really fill up, you gotta spend a lot more than you would think.

Shot Republic – Menu with Prices – 3101 Pablo Kisel Blvd Suite B6, Brownsville

1718 Steak House Stone Oak – Menu with Prices – 20626 Stone Oak Pkwy suite 103, San Antonio

Stopped in for happy hour for some bites and drinks. This is their new location and it was kinda difficult to find out much about happy hour as the number on this locations website goes to the downtown location. We were greeted at the door and were escorted to the bar where we requested to be seated. The bartender/manager (Roger) was very friendly. The place was very quiet as it was a weekday and had just opened for the day. We ordered a couple of drinks and browsed the happy hour menu. We ordered the tempura onion rings and the bacon smoked Gouda cheese fries. The drinks, Texas 75 and the Jameson blackberry were awesome! The amount of onion rings was amazing. They were hot and tasted excellent. The smoked Gouda cheese fries were amazing as well with the exception of too much green onion which I picked a lot off so the would not overpower the rest of the dish. It was rich and very filling. We also ordered the “snack tray”which is a smaller version of the charcuterie board. 3 cheeses,3 meats and three types of crackers. It all tasted very good (although my wife thought one of the types of crackers was stale,I thought it was the type of cracker). The prosciutto was the leanest I have ever had! The herbed goat cheese was amazing. We intend to try this place out for dinner in the near future. I think they need to work on their website to include their menus and explain happy hour etc. the staff we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. There are only a few beer taps but there are other beer options. The wine list is building and they have some good wines reasonably priced. I look forward to reviewing the dinner options soon.

Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana: Henderson – Menu with Prices – 140 S Green Valley Pkwy, Henderson

We came back again as it’s been a while since we last visited. Our visit was so incredible that I just needed to share. The hostess greeted us rather quickly as soon as we walked in. We asked if we could sit on the patio. We really must have been the only crazies that wanted to sit out on the patio in July because none of the patio seat cushions were on the chair hah! The hostess was kind enough to put them on for us, so no big deal! Our waitress was Madison and she was incredible! We both recognized each other, but couldn’t figure out where from. Later in the evening I realized that we both went to college together. Small world! She came out to check on us throughout the night. Even though none of her other tables were outside, she didn’t forget about us! Which is pretty incredible because I feel like sometimes when you’re outside, you’re easily forgotten about. But Madison did a great job refilling out drinks, making sure we were good and making sure our food was brought out in a timely manner. Hats off to her, for sure! I had a moscow mule while my husband had a beer. My mule was delightful! I opted for the garden mule, and it was full of delicious fruit flavors. We started with the focaccia bread as well which is what their pizza crust is made out of but honestly, you can’t get enough of it! It’s so tasty! For dinner, my husband had this brisket pizza and I had the traditional margarehita pizza. He said his had a little kick to it because there were some spices added, but he throughly enjoyed the taste of the brisket and the pizza overall. My pizza was also incredible! The red sauce they use is not too sweet and not to spicy. It’s a perfect blend. We will definitely be back for sure!

The Avenue Apartments Huntsville – Menu with Prices – 201 Jefferson St N, Huntsville

A visit to Melt is a treat for both the casual eater and the food fanatic. The myriad ways they are able to present cheese is astounding. From the honey baked goat cheese to the buffalo chicken sandwich, Melt has a dish for any mood and any occasion. I started with the honey baked goat cheese and mac and egg rolls. The sweet tones of the honey and strawberry exquisitely complimented the creaminess of the goat cheese. The egg rolls were cooked to perfect crispness, leading to a wonderful texture of soft interior with a crunchy shell. The chili glaze dipping sauce served with it accented the flavors to give us a wonderful start to our meal. For the main entree, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. The Texas toast bread was nicely crisped to give the sandwich some structure, and a nice butteriness. The chicken was well fried, and coated with a nice helping of Monterey Jack cheese. Their homemade ranch doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but it is a tasty dipping sauce with a delicate flavor. The mac and cheese is a very good reason to patronize Melt. With a top layer of melty goodness, this dish will hold your tastebuds full attention from start. I will order this every time I eat here. To top off this wonderful experience, their bar is nothing to complain about. With select craft beers on draft, classic domestic options, and house crafted cocktails, their will be a beverage choice suitable for everyone. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, and I will be back here again very soon.

Boulevard Kitchen + Juice Bar – Menu with Prices – 701 E Broward Blvd Suite F, Fort Lauderdale

Checked out this new spot this morning and was pleasantly surprised. I’m always searching for fast/healthy options. I love the long row of bar stools plus the outside seating. It’s perfect if I’m coming from the gym and want to grab something quick but not have full waiter service. When I saw the menu online I thought it was a bit pricey for a quick grab and go spot but I found a few good options while I was there for a very reasonable price. I had the avocado toast which was topped with pumpkin seeds, pickled onions, and greens on a large piece of whole grain toast. It was good, esp when I added some of their hot sauce for an extra kick. I believe the toast was $8. I also had the Greek yogurt with granola and fruit. It was topped with bananas, blueberries and strawberries. I ended up taking this to go because I was full from the toast. Matthew was really friendly and gave me a lot of good insights into the restaurant and affiliated locations. He was also on top of the service which was great. I will be back soon!

Pizza Superstar – Dean St – Menu with Prices – 446B Dean St, Brooklyn

Not happy about any aspect of our experience here. Ordered online for pickup, and the estimate was 10-35 minutes. Mr. F left about 20 minutes later (we live 5 minutes away) and didn’t come back for an entire hour. While he was there, he had a number of workers tell him they were getting someone else to help, and then walk away never to return. He even caught one guy, who had said he was going to make the pizza, sitting down at Broccolino next door having a meal! Finally he got ahold of a manager, who was extremely apologetic about the ridiculously bad service and 1.5 hour wait, and made the pizza in five minutes. Got it home and it was fine, but nothing special. Tasted good, but the crust was a little too thin and not enough cheese. Definitely will not be back. There are too many other pizza places in the area where you can get a fine pie in 15-20 min.

Slow Roasted Bocadillos Downtown Menu with Prices Inside the Wells Fargo Building, 200 Lomas Blvd NW Suite 110, Albuquerque

I would’ve given 5 stars, but due to my dissatisfaction this past Friday, I had to give 4. My co-worker ordered me a farm salad which is my all time favorite, but due to being pregnant I requested that the goat cheese be left off as I can’t have unpasteurized cheese. She arrived to pick up the order and was actually present during the making of the salad and kindly asked the woman preparing it if the goat cheese wasn’t on the salad, she assured her several times that she had just prepared it and there was no cheese. Once I received my salad, I was disappointed to find that there was goat cheese all over the salad, which I couldn’t just pick or eat around. She called and was told that they had ran out of the farm salad and could either go all the way back to get her money back or just receive a credit. I appreciate the credit, but that I had to go and spend money again on lunch. I was extremely disappointed and very angry that I had to spend close to $20 on two lunches when it was completely unnecessary. I feel a little more angry that my co-worker was blatantly lied to. I’m unsure if I’ll ever order from Bocadillos again due to this experience. I hope the workers will pay more attention to orders when something is requested to not be added due to health precautions.
