It’s that time of year again! Chanukah! And we love going to royal donuts for the freshest and best donuts! For Chanuka they set up a corner in their factory for retail sales of all sorts of different donuts and fillings, they even have a chocolate fountain with toppings that you can dip/decorate your own donut and you get to it eat!

Donut Factory – Menu with Prices – 803 S Mountain Ave, Ontario

Ok.. This place seriously has the best & freshly made donuts I’ve ever tasted! First of all, I was neverrr a fan of cake donuts growing up. In fact, I’ve tried many from all over and every cake I’ve tried were always on the DRY side, so I started to steer clear of them, until my sister brought home a dozen from her usual spot “The Donut Factory. ” I take a look inside and think, “Ewww.. what’s up with all these YUCKY CAKE donuts she picked?!? She goes on to say, that they’re her absolute favorite and to just shaddap and try one. Well, I pick a chocolate cake, chocolate frosting with nuts on top and to my huge surprise, couldn’t believe my taste buds!! This chocolate cake tasted absolutely AMAZINGGGG!! So fresh! So cake like! So yummyyy!! Omgosh! I am now a fan of cake donuts BUT, they must be from The Donut Factory lol!!! My sister continues to get her dozen donuts every now and again and I’ve gone with her a couple times. It’s family owned and the mother & daughter that serve us are so sweet and kind! Always greeting every customer as they come in, with big smiles and generous to place extra donuts in our box and/or bags every time we’ve gone. So, I can still eat glazed and what not, but if it’s from The Donut Factory, all I want are their cake donuts lol!! Thanks for my new addiction! :p

Mojo Donuts – Menu with Prices – 7906 Pines Blvd, Hollywood

The best donuts we’ve ever eaten. My family and I decided to try out this donut shop and was pleasantly surprised. These donuts were huge..the fillings were mouthwatering. I’m giving it a 5 star. Recommending that you please, please try out their donut selections. Their donuts are freshly made daily with assorted toppings. I also found out that you can call them if your planning a breakfast brunch Mojo caters. The only warning I have is to please take note that they are DONUTS so the majority of them are sweetly delicious.. .

Holliday Donuts – Menu with Prices – 7040 E Reno Ave, Oklahoma City

I love this donut place. Everyone in there are so nice. Good value on donuts too. Once I was short a few dollars, they told me to bring it next time. I did of course. But when I brought back what I owed, she was like…no it’s ok. So I stuck a few extra bucks and what I owed in the tip jar. Very tasty. Best plain cake donuts, which are my favorite. Very moist. Other places they have alot of holes in the cake and are dry. But here…they are very good. Love how the decorate the donuts too. I’ve moved away now. I will miss this donut shop. Great job!!

Duck Donuts – East Cobb – Menu with Prices – Merchant’s Walk Shopping Center, 1281 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta

What a great donut shop! I came in very excited to try the new donut shop! I was not disappointed. I have never heard of a make-your-own donut shop until today. What a creative idea! You can order custom toppings, icing, and whatever you want! They also have a menu of types of donuts you can order if you don’t know what to pick. I will admit that it is overwhelming to decide what topping you want, there are so many to chose from! I ended up going with the Cinnamon Sugar donut! The prices are very reasonable. Only $1.50 for custom donut. What a bargain! I highly recommend Duck Donuts for any type of donuts! They also have coffee, hot chocolate, and breakfast sandwiches. I will have to try that next time!

Mel-O-Cream Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3010 S 6th St, Springfield

Mel-O-Cream has essentially bullied all competition out of town due to nothing more than the misguided blind faith of its loyal Springfield customers. First off, NO LOCATIONS make the doughnuts that they sell. ALL Mel-O-Cream doughnuts are made the day before at the main factory and trucked in for sale. Alternately, if you go to a grocery store in town, you get Mel-O-Cream Prefried doughnuts, out of the freezer and into the oven to bake ‘fresh’ every day. None of the sales locations are company owned. The result is that Franchise owners are forced to sell an inferior product. It is easy to confirm all of this by the fact that none of the Mel-O-Cream retail locations have fryers, and the corporate Mel-O-Cream website proudly describes the production process. Mel-O-Cream donuts are improved by being microwaved before being eaten, but I recommend going to a bakery for something else entirely rather than paying fresh donut prices for day old donuts.

Original Donut Man – Menu with Prices – 3224 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis

Donut man has been a place for many great memories for my family. When I was young my dad would take me on the weekend to pick out donuts. As an adult my dad would take my son. My dad would always get tiger claws. They are long twisted donuts with cinnamon. My son loves their chocolate glazed donuts. I would get the chocolate bowties. They have a large selection that is made fresh daily. Most of the time we buy a large amount of donuts and they throw in some donut holes for free. Unfortunately my dad is no longer with us to carry on the tradition with my daughter and niece. I will definitely take up the torch and make sure they have memories of the best donuts I have ever had. Thank you Donut Man for all the special memories and many more to come.

Sugarboy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 10710 Eldorado Pkwy #110, Frisco

Honestly I wasn’t impressed. This place has great reviews and I’ve even been here a few times but I just don’t love their donuts. I’m simple when it comes to donuts. I don’t like anything too sweet or too fancy. When I go to donut shops, I always try a glazed donut and maybe a chocolate frosted (without sprinkles). Those are always the best measure of how their donuts truly are. I love big, fluffy yeast-risen donuts, don’t really crave cake donuts as much. I stopped in today on a late Tuesday morning and got a glazed donut plus their fruit+custard cronut. The glazed donut here was tiny and light. Since the donut was small, the glaze was overpowering. There’s a picture posted with someone’s comments saying best glazed donuts ever and that is a total lie. I’ve had plenty of donuts and their glazed wasn’t better than the rest. The fruit and custard cronut was ok. The dough was chewy but needing a bit more crust on the outside. The custard and fruit didn’t really add much spark. Didn’t feel like this place was that special. Just ok. Happy that they are doing well though! Just not the shop for me

Donut House & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3916 McDermott Rd # 110, Plano

In town on business and saw this donut shop while driving by. Must say, their donuts are perhaps the freshest I’ve ever had. Light and airy, too. Perfectly flavored and didn’t leave that sticky sweet ill feeling most donuts produce. Better than the donuts is the owner! She was so nice and helpful! She even carried my extra coffee to my car and wished me a beautiful week! This is my new go-to donut shop when in the area! PS: the kolaches looked delicious,

Donuthut & Deli Menu with Prices 2401 M St #100, Bakersfield

Donut Hut & Deli absolutely has donuts! I did not notice a deli, though. Did I miss it? Was hard to peel my eyes away from their fully packed and nicely presented display cases. Bought me two donuts to satisfy my sugar craving. One Custard filled Chocolate donut and one Chocolate French Cruller. Was surprised it costed me almost 4 dollars for just the two donuts, but it was nice of the guy to add some glazed donut holes in the bag. The Chocolate Cruller tasted yummy. Donut holes were good. Was disappointed with the Custard filled Chocolate donut because there was very little custard inside. Tough luck for me. Despite the fact that I was not happy with one of the donuts, I’d still return the next time I was in the area craving my sugar fix. The shop was neat and tidy. Nice seating area. Polite service.

Carpe Donut – Menu with Prices – 5336, 1715 Allied Ln, Charlottesville

Why did we drive TWO hours to Charlottesville, VA? For a deliciously hot apple cider donut made by Carpe Donut. That’s why!! My love affair with Carpe Donut’s donuts started a year ago. Join me as we go down fatboy memory lane. Watch your step, there’s icing and sugar all around this place… It was a year ago when we first had the pleasure of devouring Carpe Donut’s tasty apple cide donuts at our friends’ wedding. In lieu of a wedding cake, they had hired the folks at Carpe Donut to make fresh apple cider donuts for all their guests…as many as they could eat. Can you say apple cider donut BUFFET!! **wipes away drool** Anyway, the donuts were SO amazing that I stuffed my fat face with an embarrassingly large number of fresh donuts. I was the first one in line, and at the end of the wedding I was the last one in line. That night the donut maker even packed half a dozen donuts in a to-go bag for this pastry loving fatboy. I loved these donuts so much could not wait until trying their tasty treats again… Flash back to the present, due to work and other travel commitments were weren’t able to pay a visit to the Carpe Donut store for a year. In that time I had to satisfy my love of baked goods with other pastry treats (cupcakes, cakes, pies…you name it, I ate it). We finally had a chance to head down to Charlottesville and drove straight to the Carpe Donut “factory”. The Carpe Donut location is somewhat hidden in the middle area of a shopping/industrial park. You’ll see the Great Harvest Bread from the road, and if you drive too quickly through their parking lot (after passing Great Harvest), you might miss Carpe Donut. Heading inside there’s a small three seat table near the counter where a member of the Carpe Donut staff will happily take your order. The lady at the counter happily took our donut order. Soon we had a nice bag full of hot and tasty apple cider donuts. I couldn’t help myself and all manners were thrown out the window as I plunged my chubby hand into the donut bag. I immediately shoved this warm donut into my mouth and closed my eyes. Yep, the same and just as tasty as I remembered them to be. As I shoved the remnants of that first donut into my mouth, I then offered the wife and kids a donut. Afterall, everyone knows that when you drive for hours just to eat a delicious apple cider donut, you need to let the guy with a nickname of “Cupcakes” eat first. ? BTW, make sure you eat these fresh! If you do take some home, do NOT warm them up in the microwave. Be patient and warm them up slowly in a toaster over. Trust me, these donuts still tasty the next day…. **drools again**

Krispy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3403 Louetta Rd Ste E, Spring

Hooray! I get to be the first person to leave a review on this establishment. I happened to stumble upon this place while driving home. The owners of the donut shop are the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. They were so happy and welcoming. I ordered a glazed donut, a chocolate glazed donut, and a sausage/egg/cheese croissant. They even warm up your croissant for you if you want. This has to be a new donut shop because I don’t see how there aren’t any reviews already made. The donuts were like a hybrid of Krispy Crème and Shipley’s donuts in my opinion. I took a bite into one of the donuts and the interior was as soft as a cloud. The one thing I truly appreciated from their donuts was that it was not overly sweet like most of the big chain donut shops. I highly recommend those who are close to give this mom and pop shop a try. I love and a huge supporter of mom and pop shops.

K & M Doughnut – Menu with Prices – 10431 Lemon Ave # E, Alta Loma

So a few days ago on the Facebook page You know you’re from Rancho if… Someone was seeking a recommendation for a location with great Donuts. A few people recommended this place. It’s one of the few donut houses around I have not tried so I wanted to see what if anything I was missing. Saturday morning 9am I walked in and was promptly greeted politely. I scanned the well stocked display of donuts. Nice variety. I went with a chocolate bar cause that should be simple enough to compare to the chocolate bar at my favorite location, Upland Donuts. Donut in hand and .75¢ out of my pocket I’m out the door. Eager to try the chocolate deliciousness I forget to take a picture but instead jump right in to eating my morning cup full of sugar. First bite my brain says a little firm and definitely no warmth to this at all. Good chocolate flavor and not a bad price for a single donut. Bottom line I was not missing anything. The donut was OK but not nearly as good as my favorite location. I’m not trying to be a hater. If this place is along your route and you like it stick with it. If you are on a hunt for the best donut in the IE keep looking.
